Oh my god, this was amazing! The humor in this was perfect, and just so so great. This was a breath of fresh air in my reading, and I would highly recommend it! Definitely one of the best books I've ever read, let alone this year.

Delving deep into the Murky Mines o’ Dude,
I witnessed there a bonding ritual.
The cohort, Flayer, Beholder, Lich and ‘Bear,
Donned caparison of cool
And rose as one against their greatest foe:

It's funny, because comic writers and artists are often warned against the difficulties of "talking head" comics--trying to do a comic as a sitcom can be rough, since it's frequently just faces and dialogue. Rapoza does it well with Lichman though, and the setting/characters do a lot to prevent it from being too visually stale.
Like many good sitcoms, the cringing awkwardness can be rough for some stretches, but the characters feel real. And the art is better than serviceable--it's very effective at delivering exactly what it's trying to.

A solid read about the behind-the-scenes adventures of D&D monsters when the protagonists aren't around. It's crude, it's funny, and more than a little self-depreciating. It isn't depressing, but don't expect it to be a light read.
Steve Lichman is a suicidal lich living with a sociopathic vampire named Count Dracula, a geeky mind flayer named Flay, a druggie beholder, a kinky mimic, and more. They live more or less very well until a younger rival vampire threatens Dracula's status as Steve's best friend.
I do wish that some of the things brought up would have been wrapped up a bit better. Like what's the deal with Mothman? Also, at one point the beholder hallucinates a cat and it isn't really brought up again.
Flay is definitely my favorite. He's snarky but still very vulnerable. Plus his facial expressions--despite having a squid face--are the best.

Not sure . I was expecting much more . The way this was sold to me (the story of the monster in a dungeon) the first pages were that.but then at some point it became a weird story about 2 vampires dracula and Kiefer not even David from the lost boys. To win the rights to stay with the group in the cavern.decided in a motorcycle race (WTF).
There is a long story about one of the character selling is geek collectibles. Not funny and kind of weird

I will not definitely recomend this book to anyone. I hope that this book was not for me and some people like it . I would love to know they like about it.

Pretty frickin weird.
I enjoyed it. This was a really eclectic and enthusiastic read but at times just a bit too cringeworthy so I didn't feel as engaged as I could have.
The art style really suits the work though, and some of the characters were bafflingly delightful. There were so many great one-liners and I remember that is what drew me into buying this the other year. Keen to leap into vol 2.

3.5. I liked that and I wanted to love it, but the complete and total lack of any female characters juxtaposed with the constant discussion of sex with women made it... annoying. The whole monster premise and blot are hilarious, but even frat boys who are cool classic monster are still frat boys. I’ll probably still read the second one.

An insane amalgamation of classic fantasy tropes and dumb nerd humor, uses my favorite kind of mix of very detailed high quality art, alongside completely stupid dialogue and plotlines. Can get kind of repetitious with some of the dialogue nearer the end though. But very funny.

An excellent read. I sat down and finished this book in about an hour and it was tons of fun. It’s not even close to a difficult read so if you are looking for something to do with a free few hours I would recommend it.

Clever and sardonic at the beginning, the basic shtick of "inner life of dungeon denizens" worked better as a humorous set of individual strips, vs. the latter approach to actual plot and story. After a while the joke just wasn't interesting any more.

Man, haven’t read this in a few years, but this was just as funny if not more now that I’ve DM’d for 6 years.

I really enjoyed the first 90 pages, but once it starts to focus on Dracula and Kiefer I found it less funny. It's also pretty problematic in his language.

It might have been that the idea of the concept and the execution of the concept didn't match for me. It was an interesting take, but felt lacking.

This web comic has popped up on Imgur every once in a while, and I was excited to read it every time it showed up, even if it was the same 10 or 20 pages each time. I eventually checked out their website to read more of the comic, and found out they were running a Kickstarter campaign at that time, so of course I immediately supported it and excitedly waited for my two volumes to show up.
When I finally got around to reading them, it was with mixed results. The first volume was good, and contained a lot of story lines and humor similar to the ones that grabbed me in the first place, but it definitely seemed to meander and focus WAY too much on a character who wasn't part of the core group, and who wasn't particularly interesting or funny.
I was hoping after the first volume, the author would get back to the heart of the web comic that I fell in love with in the first place, but unfortunately the second volume seemed to follow in the boring, meandering story lines focusing on one or two characters in particular.
While the books themselves were beautiful, the content just didn't live up to my expectations.

what of all the monsters were just kids around the hood? I was able to sample this magnificent comic collection here - Steve Lichman.
Unfortunately, I cannot get this book in my country, would be reading it online one week at a time.

This book was a lot funnier than I expected and far better art than most main stream comics as well.
This is a book about a bunch of monsters working in a dungeon as they deal with each other, the heroes who attack them, and the regular people outside of the dungeon. Its also about Dracula being a psychopath and Steve sticking up for him for far too long.
Honestly the only thing that bugged me was that Dracula took up far too much of the book and the titular Steve Lichman felt like a minor side character for the bulk of the novel. Also, the writer seems to really hate nerds and nerd culture. The cruelty in the way he treats characters with nerdy interests is either real disgust or some sort of self hatred he carries about his own interests.

Being a fan of Rapoza's art, I had to read this. I appreciate the fact that he went simple and to the point with his artistic style (big plus), as for the comic itself, it's all fun and games at the beginning, when the stories are short, like puns. It gets somewhat incomprehensible (at least for me) after a while, when stories get longer. Steve ceases to be the main character, the one around whom the events revolve, empathy isn't really his superpower, and the vampire takes over in very strange adventures that are either deliberately confusing or just a pretext to draw monsters and motorbikes.
Thumbs up anyway! Next volume is about the vampire, right?

I enjoyed this book so much that it's the first time I've ever given something 5 stars before I finished reading it. I enjoyed it so much in fact, that as I could tell I was nearing the end I started reading slower and taking breaks because I was trying to put off the ending for as long as possible. I can't wait for the audio download to arrive, so I have an excuse to experience all the laughs again!
