There are some things in this world that mortal eyes should never witness -- that's a lesson poor HARVEY KINKLE will learn the hard way, when he makes the unfortunate mistake of intruding on the darkest of ceremonies -- an offense that the witches' coven takes very seriously... Though HARVEY's life hangs in the balance, it is the SPELLMAN family that will come face-to-face with TRUE EVIL. Indeed, the choices made by teen-witch-in-training SABRINA on this dread night will determine the fate of every living soul in Greendale...
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa is an American playwright, screenwriter, and comic book writer best known for his work for Marvel Comics and for the television series Glee, Big Love, Riverdale, and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. He is Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics. Aguirre-Sacasa grew up liking comic books, recalling in 2003, "My mom would take us out to the 7-Eleven on River Road during the summer, and we would get Slurpees and buy comics off the spinning rack. I would read them all over and over again, and draw my own pictures and stuff." He began writing for Marvel Comics, he explained, when "Marvel hired an editor to find new writers, and they hired her from a theatrical agency. So she started calling theaters and asking if they knew any playwrights who might be good for comic books. A couple of different theaters said she should look at me. So she called me, I sent her a couple of my plays and she said 'Great, would you like to pitch on a couple of comic books in the works?'" His first submissions were "not what [they were] interested in for the character[s]" but eventually he was assigned an 11-page Fantastic Four story, "The True Meaning of...," for the Marvel Holiday Special 2004. He went on to write Fantastic Four stories in Marvel Knights 4, a spinoff of that superhero team's long-running title; and stories for Nightcrawler vol. 3; The Sensational Spider-Man vol. 2; and Dead of Night featuring Man-Thing. In May 2008 Aguirre-Sacasa returned to the Fantastic Four with a miniseries tie-in to the company-wide "Secret Invasion" storyline concerning a years-long infiltration of Earth by the shape-shifting alien race, the Skrulls, and an Angel Revelations miniseries with artists Barry Kitson and Adam Polina, respectively. He adapted for comics the Stephen King novel The Stand.
In 2013, he created Afterlife with Archie, depicting Archie Andrews in the midst of a zombie apocalypse; the book's success led to Aguirre-Sacasa being named Archie Comics' chief creative officer.
Not as good as the previous three volumes but still worth reading! It’s interesting to see Sabrina gradually realising the harsh reality of being a witch.
I knew what was coming and still was hoping for a reprieve for Harvey. I have always had a soft spot for him and was hoping for the best. Ms. Satan is causing some serious trouble and she is not done yet. Betty and Veronica got a bit of a surprise too. This is a tight and suspenseful take that only gets darker as you move forward.
The whole death situation hit me unguard and because of that, I had trouble believing that it really happened. I thought perhaps he will actually not be dead. Seemed a bit stupid, but oh well, I thought perhaps it will be explained a bit more by "Mrs Porter" or the coven.
Instead, I got an engagement ring. Do the authors understand how ridiculous it looked? I, as a reader, don't even believe their feelings and relationship, but here we are - their whole lives played out although they are just 16. Come on. Give me something better. And you know what? I would have never agreed to marry anyone at the age of 16.
Also: "Just don't cry in front of Mrs Kinkle!" - Wtf? Why not? They are sharing their sorrow and showing that they both loved him and cared for him.
Aaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhh. Give me something better! :angrycatemoji:

Sabrina continues to be a solidly average experience. The art is still often sub-par, especially faces. Do they not have someone go over the images to make sure the characters don't have dramatic facial changes between panels? There are a few places where characters look like they've aged 20 years from one page to the next.
It is still quite different from the Netflix series. I was really surprised. Betty and Veronica from Riverdale are witches in this version.
I knew what was coming and I was still hoping there was a chance for Harvey. Madam Satan is causing a serious problem and is not done yet. Betty and Veronica also encountered a surprise. Things get darker and weird as the comics continues. I can't wait for the next volume!

I can't believe THAT happened. Honestly didn't see it coming. Although, I should've. Should have known the path this comic book series is heading down gets darker and darker, and that nothing is off limits.
Yikes! I need a sec to process this. Not because of my attachment to the character, but because of Sabrina's.
Anyway, a LOT happens in this issue. And we even have a cameo from some Riverdale guys. Namely, Veronica and Betty, who really get a shock. That Madam Satan's such a kidder. 😜
The imagery in this installment was pretty grisly, especially when dealing with true witches. I seriously can't wait to see where this nightmarish tale ends. Actually, that's probably why I'm enjoying this so much. There's a delirious nightmare quality to the story that really makes it addictive.
Man, this strip started out surprisingly grim and dark, and it just turned things up to overdrive. Harvey Kinkle, the love of Sabrina's life, has--
Well, you gotta read it to see what happens.
I was stunned.
A lot of things happened in this issue. Sabrina learned more about her legacy and her aunts (had new thoughts about the dinners they had together) and there is a cameo with Veronica and Betty that is creepy and campy at the same time.
There's a lot of heart in this issue (emotional as well as physical), and they get broken (and ripped to shreds). And Madame Satan has turned truly despicable. Can't wait to see what happens next issue. It promises to be a doozy.
¡No! este rompió mi corazón en pedazos, pobre Sabrina, ahora temo por lo que esté dispuesta hacer. La tía Hilda y Zelda muy malvadas (no me acostumbro a ello) y esto se está poniendo cada vez mejor.
This one was so completely different from the show. I kind of like that, and want to see how this arc turns out. But for some reason, I just can’t seem to fall in love with these comics.
