Christa Lind żyje ze swoim ojczymem, który jest osobą szczególnie religijną. Jak można przypuszczać - na idealnego męża dla dziewczyny trzeba wybrać mężczyznę, który tak jak i on jest religijny. Wybór padł na Abla Garda. Wszystko byłoby okej, gdyby nie to, że Abel jest stary i zdążył już napłodzić sporą dzieciarnię. Jednak autorka nie pozwoli na "nieszczęśliwe" małżeństwo, więc pojawi się druga męska postać (Lindelo), która będzie przeciwieństwem Abla.
No dobrze. Mamy tom, który jest kolejnym zapychaczem dla rozciągnięcia serii. Jednak ta część była jak najbardziej w porządku. Każdy z bohaterów (może nie licząc ojczyma) był bardzo sympatyczny. Christa to budząca ciepłe uczucia postać. Abel, który z początku może kojarzyć się negatywnie, podchodzi do małżeństwa z Christą bardzo rozsądnie, a przede wszystkim daje czas oraz zrozumienie, czekając jak cała sytuacja się rozwinie i czy dziewczyna coś do niego poczuje. Lindelo jest kreowany na tego z różkami i diablim ogonem, ale relacja z Christą rozwija się bardzo dla czytelnika przystępnie. Autorka szczególnie zaskoczyła mnie w jednej kwestii dotyczącej Lindelo, bo nie wyłapałam tego czytając ten tom.

Att läsa böcker av Margit Sandemo är ett rent nöje, avkopplande och stressfritt. Inga blodiga, styckade lik, inga polisjakter. Här är spänning, magi och kärlek i en lagom mix. Även om jag tycker att omslagen är missvisande, eftersom det ser ut att vara en kärleksroman, men så är inte fallet.
Böcker är inte så tjocka och kan läsas på en enda dag, eller lyssnas på som jag gör genom Storytel.
Det jag tycker om med Sagan om isfolket är att det är en släktgren, där man får möta alla personerna i släkten, i olika berättelser, samt att det återknyts till de man läst om tidigare.
Den här gången är det Christa som är huvudpersonen. Hon är ett mycket speciellt barn. Det är hon som är den utvalda, den som en gång ska ta upp kampen mot Tengel den onde. När Christas mamma dog i barnsäng tog hennes styvfar med sig Christa bort ifrån isfolket. Ingen av dem påtalade att mannen inte var Christas riktiga far, att det var en demon som hade avlat henne. De bidade sin tid, en dag kom avgörandets ögonblick...

One of the best mysteriy stories in the whole series. I did not see the solution coming until Christa did, the first time I read it. I also like that revelation in the end about "the seventh son...". It was funny and ingenious!

I think it's fine.
Honestly the story ended much better than it started and I believe that this is due to that Sandemo, especially in her later book in the Ice People Saga, cannot create a complex antagonist. All her "bad" or "uncooperative" characters are very flat, in this case it's the main characters father who is both egocentric and lazy but not in a way that is in my opinion realistic.
On the other hand the author goes to great length to show how complex and human her children (the main characters of the Ice People family) and the people in their surrounding are.

I felt that the story got much more interesting once Christa's father passed away and she no longer had to be bound by a character that limited her both as a person and a fictional character, I find it a shame that most evildoers in this series are so shallow and even though it might be on purpose by the author I can't quite stomach it since it contrasts to strongly to the complexity of the lore, intrigue and other characters.

Jakże podobał mi się ten tom! Zwłaszcza, jeśli zestawić go z poprzednim. Magiczny, z nutką tajemnicy, bardzo w stylu Sandemo, zwłaszcza tej najwcześniejszej, z pierwszych tomów Sagi. Historia Christy i jej relacji z różnymi mężczyznami w jej życiu naprawdę bardzo mnie poruszyła i chociaż zazwyczaj pochłaniam kolejne tomy Sagi o Ludziach Lodu bardzo szybko, to ten przeczytany został przeze mnie wyjątkowo błyskawicznie i chyba będzie jednym z moich ulubionych - a na pewno jednym z najlepszych. Nie czuć tutaj też za bardzo tego, że Ludzie Lodu wkraczają we współczesność, co dla mnie jest dodatkowym plusem.

I'm really curious about Christa's child as it will be the most important character in the series it seems.
Finally we will be moving onto the last generation of those fighting against tengel.
Christa herself well...
Her story was nothing special. The situation with her father makes me think of Hilda. As for the mysterious boy, we already had those in the last books. "Flying" thing was interesting. As for her husband choice...I just won't comment.
It's 1 star from me.

Jaj, de furcsa volt ez a rész. Nem tetszett benne a romantikus szál, Christa ráakaszkodott Lindelóra, a fiú reakciója is hiteltelen volt… és a végéről ne is beszéljünk, az a reláció, ami Christa és Lindelo között lett, szerintem gáz.

Christa's step-father wanted her to marry very religious widower, Abel Gard. But Abel was twice older than Christa and already had seven sons. Christa's thoughts were absorbed by Lindelou, handsome boy from a poor family. Mysterious Lindelou had special mistic aura.
