Część po przeskoku o te 7 lat jest tak absurdalnie śmieszna, że nie mogę po prostu xD I mean wiem, że istniały sądy czarownic i wszyscy lubili oskarżać wszystkich o wszystko, ale Margit Sandemo rozbuchała to do takiego absurdu, że naprawdę tych wszystkich złych mężczyzn typu Johan i kościelny nie da się traktować serio xDDD

I forgot that I even finished this. I feel like nothing really significant happened here. I barely remember how it ended and I only read this last week. All I can pull out of my memory is an odd conversation about boys having sex with cows. Or some such. It was vague.

Po pierwsze, nie wierzę, że jednak zdecydowałam się na kontunuowanie tej serii! Przy pierwszym podejściu tak bardzo nie podobała mi się lektorka, że ledwie byłam w stanie wytrzymać i ostatecznie większość przeczytałam. Dziś jestem na tyle osłuchana, że z czystym sumieniem mogę powiedzieć, że nie jest źle i słuchałam dużo gorszych audiobooków i nie jest tak źle!
Bez problemu odnalazłam się w fabule (zwłaszcza, że na początku dostajemy niezły przeskok czasowy, a trakcie jeszcze większy xD). Generalnie całkiem mi się to podoba, ale wyrzuciłabym wszystkie sceny erotycznie, bo kompletnie nie pasują, są takie totalnie z dupy i wzdrygam się praktycznie przy każdej, bo tak bardzo mi one tu nie pasują. Pójście bardziej w obyczaj/fantasy wyszłoby tym książkom na dobre... Ale pomijając takie drobnostki (i fakt, że linia czasowa to jakiś dramat) to całkiem dobrze się bawię i jestem ciekawa dalszych losów bohaterów :D

Minor spoilers for book 1 might appear, I try to avoid spoilers of this book.
The second book of The Legend of the Ice People is called Heksejagten (Danish for 'The Witch Hunt') and it picks up 3 years after the first book ends and we hear about Silje and Tengel's lives and their little family as they try to survive in the frozen wilderness. Most of what's happened in those 3 years gets referred to, but not explicitly shown, something that is consistent with the first book; it does a lot of telling and less showing. Usually this is a big no-no, but honestly, this series would be even longer if we didn't sometimes just get a quick walk-through of what's happened so far.
I love with book because of the characters, esecially Sol and the other children, who are now older and more developed. And because I just love Sol, period. And of course, as I hinted in my long review of the first book - which in retrospect might have turned more into a review of the series - Charlotte Meiden gets a bigger role in this book and as I do each time I read this, I can't help but be happy for her. She doesn't just get a bigger role, she gets a second chance. But enough spoilers!
Remember I said that the narrative is a lot of telling and not so much showing? Well, there is one thing that Sandemo does an incredible job at showing and that is the setting. With carefuly chosen words and sentences, she manages to describe the Winter frozen wilderness, the no longer plague-infected city of Trondheim, the damp and rainy forests with it's horrible roads and so many other places vividly and colourfully. I always get lost in the passage about the carriage ride over Dover and through the forests - not because it is long and boring, but because it is beautifully written and so easy to picture.
Maybe I just like walking in forests a little too much.
The sexual tension between Silje and Tengel in the first book is less in this one, probably because they're married and all that. But that doesn't mean that this book lacks sexual tension. I think it is a thing of Sandemos, because you'll notice thoughtout the series, if you read it all, that yes there is usually always a love-story or at least a love-angle to the story. But the physical aspects are not negleted, though I will admit that they are not that full-fledged either. I do believe we've all read way, way more explict scenes than there are in this book and series. What'd you expect, it's from the 1980s.
I'm ending this review with another reccommendation. Read this book. As the series goes along, we will of course move forward in time, and therefore follow the following generations of the Ice People, but this book has the same main characters as the first book. So really, read on. I for one am picking up book 3, Plejedatteren right now. More Sol for me!

The Witch-hunt, book 2 of 47, we continue the story of Silje and her little family in the valley of the Ice People. But Silje is hiding something from her husband, and new troubles arrives making them having to escape the valley. How will their life be after this? And what has Hanna taught Sol that might be dangerous to her future?
Another great book in this series! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that it continues like that the next 45 books lol! Can’t wait to follow Sol to see how she will grow up to be! And the rest.

The first half of the book deserved 5 stars, but then in middle of the book there were a seven year leap and instead of seeing two or three characters POV there were now at least three times more characters, which made the story fizz out.
The beginning picks up where the previous book left of and we get to hear how Silje and her family has settled into living in the valley and how they leave.
The second half circle mostly about Sol and her curiosity about witchcraft, sexuality and death.

O nieco malo slabsia cast ako predosla. Ale stále putavo napisana. Musim podotknut, ze tato saga nie je typicky pribeh, ktory niekde zacne a niekam smeruje. Tu skor pomaly plynie. Bez vacsej gradacie, akcie...no aj tak vas to nuti citat dalej 😃. Aj rozpravanie ma taky zvlastny vzor. Mne to pride ako popis zivota. Jeho plynutie. A do toho autorka zakomponovala postavy a ich zivotne situacie. Aj myslenie postav je prisposobene dobe...pri niektorych situaciach clovek kruti hlavou ako to ti ludia prezivaju. Aj ich nazory su take zvlastne ine.

Z pozoru: ciąg dalszy życia idealnej Silje.
W rzeczywistości: Sol zostaje złą czarownicą, uwodzi i rzuca uroki, a jak podrośnie, to już w ogóle zacznie się umawiać z diabłem. Typowe.
To są serio dziwne książki.

Są książki, które wcale nie są specjalnie wybitne, raczej zaliczam je do przeciętniaków, ale mimo to je czytam, bo chcę się dowiedzieć co stanie się dalej. Uparłam się, ze przeczytam całą Sagę o Ludziach Lodu. No przecież to "tylko" 47 części. Przeczytałam już 2. Byłam oczarowana poprzednią częścią pełną magii i tajemnic. Ta jest naprawdę dobra, ale trochę bardziej zwyczajna.
Jest to kontynuacja przygód Silje, Tengela oraz dzieci: Liv, Sol, Dana i Arego. Wszystko zaczyna się w zaczarowanej Dolinie Ludzi Lodu. Silje wiedzie tam szczęśliwe, ale biedne życie. Jednak coraz bardziej tęskni za światem i miastami. Niespodziewanie czarownica Hanna zaczęła się niepokoić, a wkrótce zdarzyło się coś złego - ktoś zdradził i rodzina Tengela musiała uciekać przez góry przed prześladowcami. Silje zwróciła się o pomoc do pewnej wysoko urodzonej duńskiej szlachcianki wykorzystując jedyną kartę przetargową jaką ma – przygarniętego lata wcześniej chłopca – Dana.
Zaczynamy przygodę na północy w biedzie, a kończymy na południu Norwegii. Jednak nad rodzinę znów nadciąga niebezpieczeństwo. Sol już w dolinie pozostawała pod wpływem złej czarownicy Hanny, a teraz powoli dorasta i przejawia niezdrowe zainteresowanie magią i w samotności eksperymentuje, co w tych czasach może na nią ściągnąć łowcę czarownic. Kościół bardzo niechętnie patrzy na jakiekolwiek oznaki mogące być szatańską magią jak uprawiane przez Tengela zielarstwo i leczenie.
Książka w głównej mierze opowiada o mozolnej wędrówce biednej rodziny cierpiącej głód i biedę, na której ciąży klątwa Tengela Złego w stronę nowego dobrego życia. Z jednej strony to może znudzić, ale z drugiej całkiem mi się podobało. To, że bohaterowie nie są niezniszczalni i obdarzeniu niezwykłym szczęściem też zasługuje na plus.
Nie jest to zwykły romans, miłość jest ważna w życiu Silje i Tengela, ale książka mówi głównie o przeciwstawieniu się przeznaczeniu i staraniu się być coraz lepszym dla swojej rodziny.
Jestem bardzo ciekawa kolejnej części, co się stanie z Sol i kto dostanie rolę głównego bohatera, bo będą się oni zmieniać z biegiem czasu.

Czasem autorzy poszczególnych powieści, blogów i nie mówię tutaj jedynie o stronach dotyczących tematyki książkowej, jak i autorzy innych elementów tworzących naszą kulturę dochodzą do wniosku, iż można byłoby postawić przed sobą pewnego rodzaju wyzwanie. Tak jak dla Margit Sandemo pewnym wyzwaniem musiało być napisanie czterdziestu siedem tomów jednego cyklu powieści, tak dla mnie sporym wyzwaniem będzie zrecenzowanie każdego z nich po kolei.
Drugi tom „Sagi o Ludziach Lodu” poszerza horyzonty, które zdołaliśmy już dostrzec w pierwszej części pdt. „Zauroczenie”. Silje, jako szczęśliwa żona Tengela Dobrego zamieszkała wraz z nim w Dolinie Ludzi Lodu. Stęskniona za stronami, które musiała opuścić, w Dolinie czuła się wyobcowana. Silje miała naprawdę dużo zmartwień i pomimo tego, iż było wiele momentów, gdzie czuła się szczęśliwa, wiele było również takich w których dominowało u niej uczucie niepokoju. Jednak próby radzenia sobie z życiem w obecnej sytuacji wymagały od głównej bohaterki ogromnej siły psychicznej, jak i fizycznej. „Bo kiedy wychodzi się z ciemności, słońce wydaje się jeszcze jaśniejsze.” Powieść czyta się bardzo szybko. Łatwo możemy „nawiązać kontakt” z postaciami, które w książce odgrywają istotną rolę. Czy nazwałabym tą twórczość typowym harlequinem? Myślę, że po części tak, jednak według mnie cała seria zawiera wiele ciekawszych wątków, niż te typowo kobiece, romantyczne. Być może właśnie dlatego tak bardzo wciągnęłam się w całą historię. Obserwujemy tutaj różne zachowania głównych bohaterów, widzimy jak Silje, która wraz z dorastającymi dziećmi – dojrzewa emocjonalnie. „Polowanie na czarownice” określiłabym nie tylko i wyłącznie jako powieść dla kobiet z elementami fantasy, ale myślę, że idealnie książka sprawdziłaby się jako powieść psychologiczna, ponieważ porusza wiele trudnych tematów związanych z życiem codziennym i ludzką egzystencją. „Łzy nie mają nic wspólnego ze słabością.” Sądzę, że książka wpasuje się w gusta niejednego człowieka, czy to kobiety czy mężczyzny. Akcja może i nie jest zawrotna, jak to bywa w większości powieści tego typu, jednak całość utworu od samego początku buduje pewnego rodzaju napięcie i aurę mistycyzmu, które pochłonęło mnie do reszty.

THE SAGA
This series was the start of my intense love for romance books and supernatural elements. I first read it in the original language and I read it 2 times, all 47 books. Each book is not very long but when one ends I just want to jump to the next.
I want to talk about the characters; Silje is a genuine compassionate person with a strong passion for creating.
Tengel has a very good heart but he fights very hard to keep his evil genes from rising to the surface.
The saga follows the family for over 400 years but it’s never boring. In this book they’re established and having a good life but dangerous people lurks in the shadows. You will learn more about Sol and how she in reality is a danger for her self. But she can defend herself too......
If you would like to read this series I highly recommend it and that you start on book 1.

The Legend of the Ice People is a FANTASTIC saga-series of 47 books! I already read them in Danish many years ago and as I can see it has been published in English, I want to read it in English now. The series is about war, love, power, and a lot more! It is clearly a series for all book lovers. In my opinion, one of the best and most comprehensive series I have read!

Jag trodde det skulle vara ett större hopp mellan bok 1 och 2, men det var det inte. Till min stora glädje var Silje och Tengel huvudpersoner också i denna. Dalen de gömmer sig i blir invaderad och de måste fly med sina små barn. I tillägg är Silje gravid igen. Lyckan vänder när hon tar mod till sig att kontakta sitt ena hittebarns rika mor. Lättläst och underhållande.
