I liked but didn't love. The ending felt... shortcuted. I wanted more for the series' ending. I'll miss Ryder and his boys. I'll even miss Charlie, but mostly Ryder though. I wish we could've gotten one more book. Just one. Or more. I'm not greedy. Yeah? No? At least consider it please, Jaymin and Leia. It's Ryder. Can't just give him three books, you know...

I think my favorite part about this series was how short each book actually was. Yeah, that's pretty much it.

Annihilate is the last book in the Hive Trilogy. Even though certain things did happen in this book.. I felt like everything was rushed. Especially when it came to everything revolving around Charlie being the cure. I just wanted more from this series because once I got something it was over 2.3 milliseconds later.

I think I'll miss the little found family within this series but I'm not really sure about that right now. There are certain parts I adored and wanted more of but others I could have done with out. I get that the drama needed to happen but Tessa becoming a vampire for like an hour seemed pretty pointless. I know that she was a vampire longer than that it just felt like it lasted for an hour.

Then there's the romance. I got kisses and I love you's.. and that's basically it. Heck yes I wanted way more than that. I guess the one good thing was Jayden's snarky ass being in these books because I would have rioted if he died randomly.

In the end, I guess I'm glad that I finally finished this short ass trilogy. Even though I wanted way more than what I got.

Omg, this series is getting worse and worse. I really really hoped it would improve, as the story is interesting, but nada.

The heroine is idiotically childish, it is frustrating.

Everything the enforcers say or do in daily routine and combat is "hot" and "sexy" and "mouthwatering" and ...

It is ridiculous.

Every single time her "BAFF" says something or does something, we are all reminded that that is why he is her bestie and how she loves him. Every. Single. Time.
Let me tell you, you don't even want to know what he says or does cause that it is even more idiotic to judge a friendship over.

It is ridiculous.

All those repetitions are just plane annoying. I don't see the point in getting reminded constantly over and over again of the same things.
And the heroines sarcasm and childish inner monologues ruin the whole story. Every serious plot is dragged down by her undeveloped behavior and thoughts. Every potential emotions coming up for the reader are made fun of or trashed with stupid teenager talk. She is 21 years old and acts like a 14 year old girl.

All other characters are behaving mature, sane and are really likable, supporting the story and make you want to read and know more. And then there is the heroine. God i really was never ever more disappointed in a protagonist than in this series.

So i just will skip some pages here and there to just know how it ends. I can really not recommend this book. Sorry

Annihilate is the conclusion to the Hive trilogy.
Ash is the first book, and Anarchy is the second.

In Annihilate, we finally get the answers to why Charlie is a female Ash when female Ash are a genetic impossibility. And Charlie has decided that the Vampire's rule must end.
But wanting it to end and making it happen are two entirely different things.

I really liked this conclusion to the series. In Ash & Anarchy, Charlie was a smart-ass, and I loved some of the quotes from the book. In this story, she has kind of lost her edge a little bit -- I didn't get nearly as many quotes from this one! But I still consumed this story, and it was an excellent conclusion to the series.

Okay, so I liked the series but here's the thing, it wasn't really anything to write home about. Everything gets fixed and they all live happily ever after.
I would like a couple epilogues too. . . for the sake of closure you know ;)

Fun conclusion to the series. Nothing I didn't expect though, very obvious ending and I was kind of mad at the fact that Lucas was killed. I mean seriously. He's obviously the most 'expendable' to Charlie, so that's why he's the one who died. Clearly someone had to because otherwise it was too clean, I get that. What I don't get is why it was exactly the one guy who she liked and who had helped, but who made her feel "awkward"... That was too obvious for my taste. Still an insane amount of slang in a way that didn't feel natural. Maybe I'm just getting old but nowhere do I see anyone using *that* much slang. Anyhow, it was a fun quick read, with a nice sweet happy ending and barely any conflict. Nice book to unwind.

Granted I would have been done the same day but we moved and that consumed a lot of attention. I am so sad it's over, and hope spin offs ensue!!! I just feel so bereft now, and may be in a book depression as this book was so good. HECK the series so was amazing!! I can't say anything bc you know spoilers but I cried literally cried at minimum five points in the book!! Takes a lot for authors to be able to connect with the reader and this series and these authors are so very special. I love a strong heroine who is no damsel in distress, and has the friends who help her evolve along the way. Seriously the marriage of these two authors is the stuff dreams are made of, and I highly suggest reading everything they've ever written!! My favorite from Jaymin is her Supernatural Prison series. My favorite from Leia Stone is her Water Realm series. I don't know what to do with myself now as other books seem paltry at the moment. Lol as is the case usually when I read either of them they ruin me for other books for a bit. I think it is their writing style. I love Charlie's sarcastic foul mouth, her loyalty to those she loves, and the journey we get to take with the entire crew. Worth the purchase, worth the time to read, and worth starting your journey with these authors characters and worlds. Try it out you won't be disappointed!

The results are in and they’re not in favour of this trilogy. It is over and my feelings are those of relief and sadness. Relief about all the confusion and uncertainty I’d felt from the first two books concerning me liking or not liking the books, because I am sure of how I feel about these books now. Sadness cause the new found feelings I stated before are not leaning towards the good side of the spectrum.

After so much confusion I am finally able to elaborate on likes and dislikes, so let me do so bellow.

Dislikes
- Heroine: Charlene Anne Bennett a.k.a Charlie is forgettable. That is the worst thing that can happen to a hero. Even though I didn’t like how she thought or acted, how annoying, enraging, selfish and childish she was, all these facts have already started to fade away from my mind and I finished reading a couple of hours ago.

- Danger: What danger? I never felt fear or any and all threats in these books. The Portland Hive Vampires - all powerful and dangerous and always a few steps ahead. Where were they?!? Maybe they were indeed ahead, so much so that we couldn’t actually see them. Disappointing. Then there was Sanctum – super special and lethal ninjas. What did they do? Not much, if anything really. Disappointed again.

-Action: There was none, or rather not enough where there should have been. Though I know you can’t have much action without any villains or elements of danger…

Likes
-Side characters: I really liked most, if not all, the side characters. The Sexy Six, Jayden, Lucas, Lincoln & Sasha (from the very few times I agreed with the heroine, Sasha is indeed #spiritanimal & #lifegoals material), I even liked Tessa in the end. Becca is also in the list, smart and adorably innocent. I want to know more about every single one of these characters, they were all great, seriously.

-Romance: Yes, I was surprised at myself about that. Even though there is something missing in this romance I did like it to an extent. I’m not 100% what it was that was missing, but there was some chemistry between the two – Charlie & Ryder. Though the pace was a bit all over the place – slow, then non-existent, then regular, then super fast and vise-versa. Compared to everything else I will keep this misshapen romance in the Likes. As for the rest of the couples – Jayden & Oliver, Sam & Becca, Kyle & Sasha, Jared & Tessa – from the little I could see they were a tad more steadfast I enjoyed them, even more so than the main romance.

To conclude , despite having a lot of things I didn’t like and a few I did in this trilogy, everything about those books are fading from my memory. Everything except the overall sense of “Meh” and that is a damn shame. I’m not actually going to forget anything & everything from/about these books but since the feeling of “Meh” is oh so very strong I won’t ever bother to actively seek this info out within my mind. Again a damn shame cause Jaymin is among my fav authors.

Definetely the worst book in series and that is to say something as the first two were not great at all.
What do you do when you realise that your friend don't give a shit about your feelings or reasonings?You forget it instantly,right?
What do you do,when a person you trust your life with,betrays you?
You dismiss it and fully put your trust in them without a second thought.
What do you do when your love steals from you and dumps you?
You run off to be reunited with them(eye roll).
What do you call 60 to 100 years old killers?
Boys of course,because that explain their stupid behaviour.
How to let the world and people around you know that you have good college education?
You cuss in every sentence,because nothing is more endearing as being called batch constantly.
How do you let everyone know that you are strong,efficient fighter to be reckoned with?
You tell them that you are badass,of course, while fucking up every single time you had a chance to prove it.
Etc. etc. etc.

What was up with all the usage of texting abbreviations?Trying to target teenage audience?Was it really too hard to actually type out the words?
Characters not acting up to their age and supposed traumas they have gone through.
And the story.It is a nightmare,please tell me it was written by 13 year old while drunk hiding from the parents in the middle of the night.Because that is the only acceptable excuse for how it was written,how story was steered and solved.

And lastly....gay stereotyping mutch?It was not endearing,it was humiliating and degrading.

I think what happened in this book was a good way to end this trilogy.

All of the characters got the HEA. I actually had a couple tears fall when Lucas sacrificed himself for Charlie. And with how broken up she was after he did that. I was so sad! It was bitter sweet that he did that for her.

I am going to miss Jayden most from this series. I am going to miss his snarky sassy ass!

I tried to like this series

A new twist on Vampires but the Characters seemed to get more immature as the story progressed. I finally gave up when Charlie called someone fugly. Maybe a better series for late teens/early twenties.

The final book in the Hive Trilogy followed the path of the first two. Though this entire series hasn't been a heartstopper, it's been enjoyable all the same. I've always loved all of the characters (except for Tessa but she is literally the biggest bitch and the most naive fucker I've ever read about), and they've definitely carried the whole story through as the plot has always been slightly lacking.

The entire wrap-up seemed a little weak. What's going to happen to all of the ash now that the vampires are gone? I mean, the ash live for a very long time, right? So they're just going to continue to survive. I mean, why get rid of all the vampires? This wasn't very well thought through.

Also, why is Tessa still fucking alive? Kill her off. Honestly. Why is Charlie best friends with her? Such a huge dick.

However, Charlie is an absolutely wonderful heroine. And Ryder complements her beautifully. The sexy six is lots of fun, but there was still very minimal characterization for all of them except Ryder.

Regardless, this series was a fun one to read, and I will definitely read more Jaymin Eve because I also LOVED her Dragon Marked series.

And I'm out.

The book is ridiculous on so many levels, but one small annoying thing for me was sloppy research into the science of blood. The author based all her reasoning on blood cells functions and immunology and did not even get the cells names right. It's not that difficult to Google it, you don't have to go to college to figure this out.

I was given an ARC of this book and hadn't finished the second book in the trilogy yet, so I decided I would finish Anarchy that night and read Annihilate the next two nights.

That didn't quite go as I planned. I finished both that first night.

Jaymin and Leia have done an amazing job with this trilogy and I'm sad to see it come to an end. The relationships between characters is full of emotion and trust and strength and were written in a way many authors only dream of doing. The character of Charlie is beautifully written; she is a strong female lead whose story is nearly impossible to put down.

Some authors let you read their writing, but Jaymin and Leia let you EXPERIENCE the worlds they write about; instead of just reading the story, I was pulled into the book. Many times when multiple authors write a book, you can see distinct differences in the writing, but with this duo, the writing is seamless and wonderful.

Overall, I absolutely loved the entire trilogy and I can't wait to read more from both authors! If you haven't read the trilogy yet, you definitely should; it's on my list of books/series to recommend to people when they don't know what to read.

Annihilate begins with Charlie and her friends finding out about what Sam has been hiding and figuring out why he lied to them for so long. However, Becca may be able to use Charlie’s blood to help create a cure for the vampires and spread it around the world to get rid of them for good.

As Charlie and her friends embark on this dangerous journey they will have new allies, and the possibility of losing their own lives plus those that they care about as well.

This was a great end to this series. These two authors are great together, and this story had me sucked in and now wanting to get out. I finished the book very quickly because of how into it I was!

Charlie was a great character who was not only badass she was also funny at times as well. Then you throw in her romance with Ryder and that makes this book a hundred times better.
And of course, the side characters and romances are great as well. It was a great ending to this series, with a great HEA! I look forward to reading more by these two authors.

Eh. I got to say, I'm a little let down with the closing book of this series. It felt like 80% of the book was them sitting around, making plans. And the final battle was kind of ho-hum. I mean, yeah there was a lot of death and destruction, but we were told more about it than actually experiencing it. It wasn't bad... it just wasn't my most favorite of resolutions. Although, the epilogue was pretty damn good. I'm happy to have read this series, but I'm not sure if I'll revisit it.

A worthy finale to the Hive trilogy. Charlie & Co keep going against all odds, and kept me entertained with their antics. True laugh-out-loud moments, timed perfectly to break the tension, along with believable characters who refuse to see themselves as victims. The morale of this story: if you don't like what's happening in your life - make some changes, and boy, do these lot do that in spades! Thank you Jaymin and Leia for inviting us to share this new world of yours!

What an ending to the trilogy! It was non-stop action topped off with humour and plenty of feels. I wasn't sure how everything would pull together as so much was left so up in the air at the end of book two, but somehow the authors managed it! Everyone got their HEA. Overall, a great trilogy.
