Dollycas’s Thoughts

Nick and Nora are back for the 3rd story in this series and they have their hands/paws full. Nora is still trying to track down human Nick, she is catering a huge gala and the director of the event has asked her to continue the case human Nick was on when he disappeared, and then of course there is a dead body found at the gala and maybe some missing jewels. Could all these things be tied together? You will have to read the book to find out.

Ms. LoTempio has written a very comp

Can you say coincidences? This series is really just one coincidence after another every single character it seems is involved in at least 2 of the 3 mysteries in this book. But least I judge it too harshly the cat does some outlandish stuff and if that's not bothering me I don't know why I let a few coincidences. This is the last of the books released so far and I liked all three so if they do a fourth I'll read right along.
Hey you gotta love a cat that plays scrabble, right.

This has quickly become one of my favorite cozy mystery series. T.C. LoTempio never fails to disappoint. The author has a great flair for the mystery and keeps readers guessing to the end. She tosses in twists and turns which will satisfy all mystery lovers.

Nora is a strong female lead character with a handsome sidekick named Nick. Nick, of course, is a cat. A very smart cat. I’m in love with the cat. LOL The cat has a huge role in solving the mystery…he’s not just a pretty face on the cover :)

I haven't read the first two books in the Nick & Nora Mysteries series but it was so interesting and I was told it should've been fine as a standalone. Of course, reading in order is always better but a lot of series pull it off to where you can jump in and feel like you're not missing anything.

That wasn't entirely successful for Crime & Catnip though. I recommend reading this if you're read the series or starting at the beginning with Meow If It's Murder. You can skip like I did, but i

4.5 stars for this cozy mystery. Nora Charles, owner of the Hot Bread Sandwich Shop, agrees to cater an event at the Cruz Museum. Nora also writes articles for a crime magazine and has a reputation for solving mysteries. She has agreed to look into the disappearance of the museum director's niece. And she continues to try to find her cat's former owner, a private investigator who has also gone missing but is sending postcards from New Orleans with coded messages. First off, she hopes no one trie ...more

A wonderful read in this fun series. The mystery was fast paced and kept me guessing will up until the very end. I love the companionship between Nora and little Nicky in these stories. Nicky comes across as almost human sometimes in the way he tries to explain the clues to Nora, but then he can be just as cunning and demanding as cats can be. I just love him and he has become one of my favorite pets in cozies.

Very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

I see a crazy love triangle sort of coming about. And it will be nutty.

In this wonderful installment a crush from the past enters Nora’s present and we see her a little flustered. In the meantime Nick is a hoot trying to help her with several mysteries, she is dealing with someone wanting her dead, figuring out if Nick’s owner Nick is still alive and where he is, helping Violet, catering a museum function, solving a murder, finding her way with Daniel and learning the truth. A lot is on Nora’s

Another fun installment in this series, although one weird thing annoyed me. HOW can Nora NOT see the 'secret' message in the notes Nick sends? It is the most obvious code ever and it annoyed me to have both her and her friend completely miss it. Anyhoo...

Three books in and we're still not really closer to working out what happened to Nick the PI, and why Nick the cat is so super smart. He's almost like magic, and he gives the most obvious clues to poor Nora. She's getting there though and hopef

Psychic cat who plays scrabble helps the main character solve mysteries. She has a boyfriend in the FBI, but doesn't tell him what's going on and gets attacked when it might have been avoided. Too much deus ex machina for my taste.

I loved it! I am still in love with little Nick, the cat who had once been named Sherlock and owned by a PI named Nick who disappeared some time ago. The author has once again penned a fun, challenging mystery that could rival that of her literary favorites.

Nora has a last-minute, huge catering gig with the local Cruz Museum with a medieval theme. Her gig takes her to one of the central mysteries, where guy-friend Daniel, with the FBI, is one of the undercover guards for an ancient book of spell

Princess Fuzzypants here:

Catnip and Crime is the latest installment of the Nick and Nora series by Toni LoTempio. I confess to having a "thing" about Rocco who is Toni's writing partner. He and I are furriends but that doesn't colour my review.

I loved this book. I think it is the best one yet. Yes, Nora is still doing silly things by not sharing what she learns with the two hunky cops who flit around her. She puts herself in harm's way and it is a good thing that Nick is there.

He is smart, resou

I’ve been a fan of this since the first book, MEOW IF IT’S MURDER.

I’m so happy to have had the chance to once again spend time with Nora Charles and her feline buddy, Nick. This duo knows how to take a bite out of crime. And I’m sure Nick has no problem biting if he has to. For that matter, I think Nora wouldn’t either.

Author T. C. LoTempio’s writing has a certain something that grabs hold of the reader and won’t let go until the last page. As with books one and two, CRIME AND CATNAP quickly p

"Crime and Catnip" is a cozy mystery, though it's really more of a suspense. It's the third book in the series. You don't need to read the previous novels to understand this one, and this story didn't spoil the previous whodunits.

The cat is smarter than the humans and is a full partner in solving the crime and saving the day. It's also the first time I've come across a cat that goes to battle for his human, and it was fun to see a cat use his claws for a good cause. I'm not quite as fond of his

The 3rd book in T.C. LoTempio's "Nick and Nora Mysteries", "Crime and Catnip", is one of the more unusual mysteries I've ever read because not only of the plot w/in this book, but also because of the continuing theme which is a hallmark of this series. The main plot of the book surrounds a gala at the Cruz Museum to showcase a grimoire tied into Morgan LeFay of Arthurian fame. Along with that process, Nora agrees to investigate the disappearance of Nora Crenshaw's niece & Ollie gets postcard ...more

This is book 3 in the Nick & Nora Mysteries series, and I really wish I had read the previous books as I did feel a little lost at the beginning. There wasn't much back story but I soon got into the swing of the story and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Nick is crime solving cat with a love of scrabble letters, unlike other stories featuring pets/animals I found him to be quirky and an integral part of the story. His former owner who is a PI has been missing since the first book and even in this story

This is the third book in this series but the first book that I have read and I was able to enjoy it without feeling lost. I really liked that Nick "helped" Nora find clues to solve the crime. Nora seems to get herself into a few little situtations that sometimes threaten her own safety. Along with Nick looking for clues he also protects Nora when she gets into these scraps. Nick the cat has a bigger part in this book than most pets do and I thought it was a nice addition to the story. The autho ...more

First of all, that blurb completely drew me in. I was pleasantly surprised by the way T.C. Lotempio was able to keep me on my toes.

I love reading mysteries and trying to figure out what could possibly come next.

I'll have to admit, I was surprised in a couple of places throughout the novel.

The way the novel was set up was different and unique and fun. I love the fact that Nick is such an instrumental part of the novel.

A well-crafted mystery!

Toni Lotempio's voice is a breath of fresh air, smart, spunky and full of twists.

The plot kept me turning the pages and I finished this novel very fast.

The title and theme is something new and fun.

Ultimately I loved the book a lot of twist and turns. I will read more books by this author!

I listened to the audio book version narrated by Amy Rubinate. The narration Amy did for this book was better than her narration for the second book, but I still prefer the narrator who read the first book.

The story was good enough, but I liked the first book best out of all three in the series. I just love Nick the cat. He is definitely my favorite character.
