Aisling Grimlock has a lot going on. Her boyfriend is keeping a secret … with her brother. She’s finally on her own collecting souls for the family reaping business. Oh, and her mother is back from the dead and may be eating people to keep herself alive. When trouble comes knocking and someone Aisling adores is left injured in the crossfire, she’s out for blood and vengeance. Her brothers want to believe their mother is telling the truth – and part of Aisling does, too – but protecting those she loves is more important than buried memories. Griffin vows to stand by Aisling, but he’s out of his element and worried the weight of the world may drag her down. He fears he doesn’t have the strength to stop it. Aisling wants the truth, and she’s willing to fight to get it. Sometimes a good lie is better than a bad truth, though, and Aisling might not like what she finds at the end of memory lane. The final fight is between good and evil, but who will end up on what side?
When I was a kid, I was torn between whether or not I was going to grow up and be the Incredible Hulk or Wonder Woman. I flirted with being a Jedi Knight for awhile, but I wasn't up for the intense travel associated with the gig. In my teens, I settled on being a writer -- although I had no idea the effort that would entail. Not only am I a writer now, but I'm a writer in several different mediums. I'm a longtime newspaper reporter, an avid reader and a voracious science fiction fanatic.
So utterly in love with this series. Slightly darker than the other series I have read from this author but even funnier! Aisling's dramatics get wild as she wonders what Griffin is up to and family keep life as entertaining as ever, especially with the return of the dead mother. Love the intrigue and the world building. Delightful as ever.
4 Stars... Another raucous adventure with the crazy Grimlocks... Aisling's mother has returned from the dead rocking the very foundation of the Grimlock family; torn between wanting to embrace her and being wary of her intentions, Aisling opts for the side of safety and protecting her family... Wraiths seem to be on the attack and somehow connected to her mother and a mysterious "gentleman" who is tied to Aisling's archenemy... No rest for the weary that is for certain... It will take all of Aisling's instincts and wit to battle this unpredictable enemy that she once called mom... Mayhem and madness ensues as it usually does with this insane family bringing with it laughter, love, and of course threats of being put in the dungeon!:)
Aisling's mother is back from the dead and being cagey about what happened
What I enjoyed: * The interactions with the family are still hilarious, I really feel for the dad though * It is nice to see Aisling and Griffin's relationship moving forward * Jerry is completely over the top as always
What could have been better: * I don't understand Lily
Debating about finishing this series - going off Kindle Unlimited in less than a week and might check out other books first. The story line does keep moving and she didn’t go for the horrid cliffhanger in this particular book, but wavering at this point.
This time in this awesome series, Aisling's mother is back from the dead for sure. And she believes that her mother may not be coming around because she misses the family, it may be something far more dangerous.
Also, Aisling's boyfriend and twin seem to be up to something, and when someone close to Aisling gets hurt, she will stop at nothing to get them back and help them.
This was another great read in this series that I adored. I loved Aisling and all her antics. I also really enjoyed the progress in her relationship with Griffin as well. It was awesome.
This book was hilarious, and awesome. I can't wait for more.
I read all 4 of these books back to back and loved them all. I'm feeling bereft now. I hate book hangovers. I got to know these characters so well and I'm still immersed in their world now I don't know what to do next.
Go read book one, meet Aisling, her brothers, her dad, her best friend and find out her story. Be there through the intrigues, the laughter, the craziness and be pulled into their world like I was. Go on, they're brilliant.
I am so in love with the characters in this series. Each book further develops their relationships while delivering a great story. Hurrah for Aisling and Amanda M. Lee.
This author and I share the same warped sense of humor. I'm not sure how many times I laughed out loud while reading this book, (and the previous 3 that preceded it), but I'll just say, I'm glad I was at home alone while reading it. The hero, and heroine are both wonderfully drawn characters. I would love to be part of their closeout group of family and friends! This author knows how to write fascinating characters who grab your interest, and then your heart quickly. The secondary characters are just as interesting, and unique as the main characters. I fell for all of them, with one exception. The jury is still out on him. This has been an "unputdownable" series for me; one I've read one after the other, and will be starting the next one now. This is a fun, exciting take on an ancient mythical/supernatural being.
What exactly is her mother up too now that she has returned from the grave?
Fantastic. The family are back in all their dysfunctional glory. Full of sarcasm and snark. Her mother is back. But what is her game plan? Why is the so called financiers making such an obvious play for Ais? Will the new living arrangements meet with everyone's approval? Attempted murder, kidnapping and more all wrapped up in a fast paced, action packed plot. But will everyone survive? The characters are just brilliant and getting better and better with each book. Although Ais is also growing in maturity. What are the rest of the rules? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would love to read them.
I get a big kick out of these stories. This family is super close, picking on each other with their warped sense of humor but ready to stick up for each other in a heartbeat. The star of the family is the only girl, Aisling. She is a tough mouthed, spoiled tomboy who will fight to the death if her family is in danger. It's not for everyone but if you have a quirky, warped sense of humor & understand family devotion despite their shortcomings, you'll enjoy readings these books.
The Grimlocks never disappoint. Whether it's another memorable family dinner, assaulting an arch-nemesis, wrangling wraiths, or navigating rocky relationships, the snark never stops flying in this family. Aisling has entire days where it appears that she's finally maturing into some semblance of a reasonable adult and then she backsides into puerile adolescence. Griffin is a saint for putting up with her, but she has such a big heart, it's hard to stay irritated for long.
: I really wanted to laugh along and love the fourth book in the Aisling Grimlock series, but unfortunately all I did was laugh along... And my laughing was here and there. In Grim Reunion I really felt the repetition of these characters - which can be charming yet, it's also becoming tiring. Aisling's relationships with her family and boyfriend are starting to rub me wrong probably due to her being the only female character in this series. Her spotlight is draining. When Jerry was in trouble it was Aisling who rescued him, but I really would have preferred a big win from Aiden. Additionally, I was disappointed in the fighting scene 😕 lackluster. I need something fresh!

I wanted to like these and finish the series but I'm going to bail after book 5. The main character is very unlikeable. A grim reaper, the only girl in a family of all men, she plays the "tomboy" role to a hilt. She can't stand other women, fights everyone, uses the "you're such a girl" insult and constantly makes stupid decisions. In five books she's shown no character growth. Everyone else is also a walking stereotype with no depth. The flamboyantly gay best friend who is a cook and cake decorators, the meathead women chasing boyfriends, etc. This books was just not for me AT ALL. I appreciate the author making them available on Kindle Unlimited so am giving three stars because it was cheap and had a story line. Just not one I liked.
I highly recommend this fascinating kick@$$ book, and the imaginative series associated with it, to readers who love reading intriguing mysteries. I love the sweet and faithful friendship between Aisling and Jerry, especially in that s book as things begin to change. Lee creates some of the best characters I've ever read, and I average 6 - 10 books a day. Enjoy!
I will continue to say I love this series. I love all the books and characters. I have read other series from this author and then tie in, and I can see as new characters are introduced that I know just a little already from other books. It is like a puzzle coming together with all the books.
Asiling has a lot of run ins with her mother in this wonderful book. Is she with them or against them, thats the question and still things are after her. Someone close to Aisling almost gets it and then another gets kidnapped. Whats going on, you will have to read to find out whats happening. twists and turns abound...
I have to admit, I was biting my nails, especially towards the end. Laughter occurred, tears flew, worry forefront and anger away. Another awesome read. Off to the next.
The Grimlocks bring an inventive twist to paranormal fiction. This book continues an interesting series with fun, over the top, characters and a plot line which keeps you guessing. I really enjoyed it. Undoubtedly, one of Ms Lee’s best series.
And I only downgrade this from a full 5 stars because they rushed the editing. ☹️ Lots more mistakes than in the previous ones (at least that I noticed), of the missing or mis-autocorrected kind. The laughs are totally worth putting up with them, though.
I love all this authors work but i will day at times it was very hard to get over some of Aislings...let’s say personality quirks....she is a hard heroine to like but she finally won me over towards the end of the series. And into the new series as well!
This was another great book in the Grimlock Reaper series! Great character development in this chapter and we get to see the mom in this one. I just can't wait to start the next one!
First off I love this series. Secondly I am annoyed at Aisling and how much danger she puts herself in when people care about her. Patiently waiting to see what Lily is really up to.
I am loving this series and can't wait to read more. I laugh and cry when reading these and that's what I love in a book. When I feel like I'm in the book then that's what I love about books and what I look for in a book.
You know what I love about Amanda's book? Is the sense of family, love and making feel warm inside that is why I choose to read her book every time I'm down I love all her books period
I suggest reading from the beginning of his wonderfully comic series about Grim Reapers. They all have their own special brand of snark but when it comes down to it the Grimlocks will do anything for each other.
I was laughing a!most every page as I read this book. I guess I have a snarky sense of humor like Ms.Lee. It wasn't all fun as Aisling had to kill a few waiths and deal with her mother coming back from the dead. Don't miss this one!
This is my third read of this book. And I liked the third just as much as the first two times. As a matter of fact, read the whole series for fun, snarkiness, and suspense.
I absolutely love this series. There is laughter as the Grimlock family bickers, with love. There is mystery throughout as we try to figure things out. Amanda Lee is one of my favorite authors.
Book 4 has danger, death, wraiths, evil, and humor. The Grimlock mom is back from the dead and definitely has an agenda, but is it good or evil? And love marches on. Highly entertaining.
