Linda was the youngest of 10 children and her father died shortly after she was born. She wrote her first full-length novel with pen and paper at the age of 14 - this novel was later rewritten as Wednesday's Child, part of the Day to Remember series.
She met her husband, Steve, in a Bible study, and they were married 6 months later. They both went to Multnomah School for the Bible, now known as Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary in Portland, Oregon.

# 51 Includes a Foreign Language
Book: Silver Dreams (Trade Winds #2)
Author: Linda Chaikin
Four stars for the second book in the Trade Winds series. I love Linda Chaikin and I'm enjoying her second series focused on pirates, though I have to honestly say the other series is overall better!
One thing Linda is very good at is writing a heroine that is a strong woman of God and a witty leading man that is just this side of being a bad boy! I'll admit I'm a fan of the formula, but this time around I felt like there was a lot more talking and less action.
Also Niklas, my favorite character was in less than 15% of the book. While the intrigue and scheming was interesting, I wanted more time with Niklas.
Overall, I recommend this book and highly recommend this author. Her Buccaneer and Royal Pavilions series remain my favorite.

Silver Dreams, the second book in the Trade Winds trilogy, leaves much to be desired. There is quite a bit of background story covered, which I’m sure is pertinent to the story arc in the final book. But it left me wanting the story to move along at a faster pace. There isn’t nearly as much adventure in this section of the story, with it being pushed instead by a lot of hushed, secretive conversations between characters. Hopefully the third and final book will carry more of the adventure that was found in Captive Heart.

This was a good one!
More drama than romance, and I really like how she writes these characters’ romance. I also was sad I didn’t get to hear about Hawkins’ story more during this six-month journey. Good plot twists, however! The characters are very clever.

I LOVE THIS SERIES
This is one of my most favorite series I have ever read! Shout out to Linda Chaikin’s talents! The characters were so deep and interesting and the locations and historical backdrop were amazing! I feel like I learned so much about Spain and life in the 1600’s. I loved that they were trying to help Holland against the Spaniards. Bruce was super dreamy and his and Devora’s meeting in the second book was fantastically written. You never knew what was going to happen next in the story because there were so many twists and turns that kept you on your toes. Definitely recommend!

Devora loves a pirate but is to wed a rich don. She does not know they are the same.

Superb continuation of the plot. I love her dynamic characters! Excellent build-up for the finale.
