I keep reading because I have Hope that the series gets better. It started off really strong and I’m in this weird rut with it at the moment. It doesn’t suck but the storylines have become a bit repetitive and a little far out there...even for this series.
The story line with the selkies continues. Good story but not as hilarious as other issues but still really good. I’m getting used to the artist. Worth reading and buying.
Description from Amazon: When selkies hold Seafarin' Karen's boat hostage, the Lumberjanes will have to rely on the one person they aren't sure they trust: the Bear Woman.
Characters for my reference
April- Short red head girl Jen- dark skinned camp counselor Jo- tall kid Mal: Dark haired girl with half shaved head Molly: Blond haired girl Ripley: Short brunet with headband around her head and blue streak in hair Rosie- head of camp. Constantly calls Jen Jane. Very cool. Diane- girl from another cabin at the camp, black hair Apparently the sister of Jo. Bubbles- Molly’s raccoon hat who happens to be a live raccoon Barney- Boy from boys camp that they run into a lot
Starting to adjust more to the art change now; it seems to have settled down a little. I still prefer the old style far more, but as long as the characters stay looking... well, like themselves in this style from now on, then I'll be okay.
This issue was a little more interesting than the last few, since the girls got split up into two groups doing 2 different things, but it still just sort of feels like filler material to me. I feel like I'm waiting for something more interesting to happen. Right now, a little of the Lumberjanes spark is missing for me, but I feel like something big is around the corner still. Looking forward to reading more.
Sea Farin' Karen and her Lumberjanes song. Someone is going to actually make the song, right? Somebody do this for me. It felt like this was getting back on track with what Lumberjanes is really about.
I am enjoying this storyline more than the previous one, but this is still not my favorite art style. This issue felt a bit like an in between issue, so I do have high hopes for the next one.
