The Avatars in Seattle stumble upon the journals of past Avatars, and Parker starts reading the story of Rapunzel in her own words.
After spending half her life imprisoned by the dark witch, Dame Gothel, Rapunzel has vowed to hunt her down so that she can cause no more harm to the innocents of the world.
In her hunt, she stumbles upon the most unlikely of companions. A young house maid, Evelyn, who turns Rapunzel's life upside down by taking over her tower and her heart.
Together they must hunt down the most vile black magic practitioner of their time.

I'm enjoying this series I didn't even know more books were coming out. As soon as I saw this was available I snapped it up. I wasn't disappointed. It was a fun quick read and the romance was sweet. I can't wait to see what happens next.
With a slight change of pace from the previous "Urban Fairytales", we follow the story of the title protagonist as a story being read to the previously introduced characters. Basically, this story still follows the same premise of the fairytales we know being very different from the point-of-view of the characters they are based on. However, there is very little progress in this story concerning the underlying plot that connects them. This doesn't change anything if one has read the previous books up to this point in that this story still has the elements that made the stories up to this one enjoyable.
Continue to love this concept. Love the spunky, brave companion. I would just love to live in a tower in the sea. Just be able to lock out the world at times and be able to feel peace and security while a turbulent sea crashes around me.
Another masterpiece! Let Down Your Hair has just the perfect balance. I must admit as much as I was excited to know that there'd be more stories about the other Avatars, I was hesitant to read this at first because it'd be hard to top the first three but Let Down Your Hair is just as good.
The main character was ofcourse a badass and I immediately like her from the start (Raz = Lexa, in my head), I love her attitude, quirkiness, and skills. Eve, on the other, just grew on me. It's me, not the story or maybe just Eve, I am generally not a big fan of those who try to change the nature of their lover (like like like Laura from Carmilla). I understand Raz maybe a bit merciless, but the way Eve was written here and/or her dialogues seem a bit off, it's a bit too scripted so I find it hard to really like her, which is odd because I didn't had this problem before in the series. It's eve.
The world building, sub-characters remains impeccable. Another thing I like the most was how Raz was connected to another character from the previous installments. And it really excites me. Even though I find the beginning to be a bit slow it flawlessly picked up its pace then before I know it action was everywhere. The build up was fantastic, just took the right amount of time and this search for Dame Gothel didn't really bore me.
The ending of the book and the story definitely left me wanting more and I might have had the world record for the biggest and longest sigh of relief after finishing.
So it was awesome to go back to the time of the wolves. I kind of expected more out of Rapunzel, it was more down to earth I think, where she could be easily hurt. The downside: the ending. It left you wanting more on wrapping up the story. Of course there are more books to come and the let down may be a part of the bigger story to come.

Read via Audible. I was through this book in a day. I have been waiting for the next part to be released on Audible. I really like the story and loved the was Rapunzel was tied into everyone else from the other books. The only thing wished that had happened in this book was everyone meeting at the end as the group wakes her from the slumber. I hope the next one is out soon!
I love this series. It reminds me of the show, Once Upon a Time. It take fairy tales and gives it an interesting spin with mystery. My favorite kind of books.
