Liliana Hart

Liliana Hart spent five years teaching music in the public education system. She molded America’s youth, busted kids for smoking pot in the restrooms, and broke up illicit affairs behind the stage on a regular basis. (Liliana’s Addison Holmes Mystery Series, about a small town teacher who gets into a whole lot of trouble, is somewhat autobiographical, but she won’t confess to which parts).

Liliana began reading romance novels with all her new found free time, and when she ran out of things to read, she decided to write her own novels. The result was a 150,000 word thriller—a dazzling adventure—where the heroine was a thirty-year-old virgin assassin (Yes, you read that right). She couldn’t imagine why people weren’t knocking down her door to read it, but she persevered and began writing a second book. She finally got the hang of things, and eventually learned that losing one’s virginity wasn’t all that romantic after all. All of her books involve some kind of suspense (she just can't help herself), laughter, and a lot of steamy sex.

Since the failure of her first attempt, Liliana’s books have won awards such as: The Daphne Du Maurier, The Suzannah, The Linda Howard Award of Excellence, The Maggie, and many others. Her affiliations include Romance Writers of America and Mystery Writers of America.

Liliana loves to cook, and is addicted to reading, Internet Boggle, kickboxing, and Bones. She lives in a big, rambling house in Texas with a couple of cats to keep her company. She loves to get emails from readers.

Enjoy the Adventures!

I've had the opportunity to read three of the stories in this collection and they have all been very entertaining.

Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano - 4 stars - A humor filled story with the always wild and wacky Lucie Rizzo in the middle of a mystery. This is the case of a dog being taken in the middle of a dog show. The dognappers have no idea they've taken a dog that comes with their own team of investigators. Lucie and her crew will leave no stone unturned in their effort to find the beloved pooch Otis! This is a very cute, fun read!

Honor and Protect by Lori Ryan - 4 stars - Lily Winn is the new veterinarian in Evers, TX. When she catches wind of an illegal dog racing ring she will do anything to protect the animals. Even if that means risking herself in the process. There's not a lot temporary sheriff Carter Jenkins can do without evidence but he would never have guessed that Lily would try to get that evidence on her own. He finds though he'll do anything to protect her! This is a very entertaining story. I would have liked to get to know these characters a bit better.

Last Target by Marquita Valentine - 3 stars - this is a fast moving action packed story of Maxim Romanov, former SIS agent as he attempts to rescue his wife from the hands of kidnappers. He may not have the agency behind him any more but he always has his family! This had the potential to be a great story but it was just so short that it was over before you really got into the flow.

Overall this is a great collection of stories and I would definitely recommend it.

4 stars for Alyssa Day's story Traveling Eye.
I want Alec and Vanessa's story now

*Note: This review is only for Alyssa Day's Traveler's Eye

This is a prequel to the Tiger's Eye Mystery series. This is where Jack, the tiger shapeshifter from her Warriors of Poseidon series, is on his way to Florida to sort out the death of his uncle.

He stops for a bite at a diner, when a woman walks in. She's got legs for miles, and amazing red-soled heels on. They catch his eye, so he's paying attention when someone comes in and tells her someone's shot Santa. As if that's not bad enough, the man playing Santa is her dad, and he's missing.

Jack is recognized as being both a resistance fighter and a shifter, so he gets roped into helping.

This is a great little introduction to Jack if you haven't read the Warriors of Poseidon before, and I think it's interesting to see what he's up to while he's on his way to Florida to the pawn shop where his new series takes place (Book 1 of the Tiger's Eye mystery series is Dead Eye). I do want to point out that this series is a lot like a cozy mystery mixed with a paranormal romance. It is a spin-off from Ms. Day's Warriors of Poseidon series, and while this story itself does not have a romance, the series looks like it will have an over-arcing romance.

The one thing that seems to link all these stories together is the red-soled shoes. Each story has them, and while I haven't read all of the stories yet, I look forward to doing so.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, and suspense.

This is more of Lucie's story. Lucie is trying to watch Otis in a dog show. But someone takes Otis and Lucie will do everything she can to get that dog back. She has the help of her friends and they know just how to get to the bottom of a mystery. This is suspense and fun filled short story that will keep you entertained. This crew of friends is always fun in a story that is full of mystery.

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this short story.

With this collection of authors you can NOT lose! The anthology was a great as I expected. I started with Dog Collar Limbo; Adrienne Giordano is always on my list of must-read-immediately for anything she writes and it has DOGS! In this fast paced, well plotted story, Otis is participating in a talent show for dogs doing the limbo in a Hawaiian shirt. Is that not irresistible? It is so irresistible in fact that that someone can't resist stealing one of Lucy's favorite clients. She was thrilled that Tim, her new boyfriend and Chicago police detective, would consider the dog show a fun date, but now she is even happier to have his brain to back her up when she is so upset. heir relationship continues to sizzle even in under the stress of the search for the lovable Otis.

Then I turned to the beginning of the book. I have thoroughly enjoyed Addison Holmes since I read the first book in the series and each book seems to get better. Not surprisingly I laughed from the first paragraph though the last page; Addison goes to a nudist colony for the elderly to help her great aunt apprehend a bank robber who took advantage of her in her youth, or maybe she took advantage of him.

I love the Heroes of Evers series and this addition is a perfect example of the strong characters and edgy suspense that keep me coming back. I haven't read any of the Allysa Day's Tiger Eye Mysteries but after reading Travelers's Eye Mystery, I will be picking up the two that are out asap, awesome. The stiff British feel of Marquita Valentine's Last Target felt a bit awkward at first but the characters were strong and the plot was great so in the end this one round out the collection with five out of 5 winners!

Red Sole Clues

Traveling Eye by Alyssa Day
This humorous and entertaining novella introduces Jack Shephard and prelims the new Tiger's Eye mystery series.
Jack Shepherd, a tiger shifter, stopped at a diner in Hope Springs. He immediately put his detective, and tiger skills to work figuring out who shot Santa. All because of the darn red soled shoes.

Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano
Otis is dog-napped but Lucie and crew are on the job.
A cute short novella with the mob princess out-foxing the kidnappers. Previous reading of the series not needed.

Whiskey on the Rocks by Liliana Hart
Ok, this novella stars with "I've seen a lot of male genitalia in my life." Pretty much says there is going to be humor, sarcasm and feisty fun.
Yep, an entertaining story. Part of a series, but easily read by itself. I sure wouldn't have done what Addison does to "get her man" for the million dollars let alone that she only got 10% of that amount. Nu unh. Not getting naked at a nudist colony.

Honor and Protect by Lori Ryan
Pure romance. With a bit of suspense and danger. Loved this novella.
“For a brief second, Carter let himself play out the fantasy that had been tickling the edges of his mind since he’d first met Lily Winn. In his mind’s eye, he reached out and pulled her into his arms, gently easing that strong, gorgeous body into his to see if they fit. He knew they would. They’d fit together perfectly. He didn’t know why he knew it, but he did. Once he had her pressed thigh to thigh, hip to hip, and chest to chest against him, he’d frame that sweet face with his hands and delve into the mouth that always seemed to tantalize and tease.”

I've only had a chance to read Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano (a Lucie Rizzo mystery) so far, but can definitely recommend it--both to fans of the series and as an intro to new readers :)

Limbo takes place after the events of Dog Collar Knockoff (but if you haven't read it yet, no worries!) during a local dog show that Lucie and Ro are attending both as vendors for their new doggie accessory line and to support Otis, one of Lucie's favorite clients. Naturally, their brand new significant others, Tim "O'Hottie" O'Brien and Frankie (Lucie's brother--yep, she's still having issues with that one) have tagged along as well. And it's a good thing, too, because they're going to need everyone's particular talents to solve the mystery that soon unfolds...

It was great seeing Tim and Lucie together, being all cute and couple-y. The couple that busts criminals together stays together, right? I hope so--because I love those two :) (Heck, it worked for Hart to Hart, so that's a good sign, surely?)

This was a quick read--I read most of it on my lunch break, and still had time left over--and will help to tide Lucie's fans over until her next novel...or whet the appetite of new readers!

Rating: 4 stars / B+

This boxed set is really good, but my favorite story in the set was Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano. I love the Lucie Rizzo Mystery Series, the characters are well developed, thestory line always moves along at a good steady pace and the stories never fail to make me laugh.

In Dog Collar Limbo, Lucie is thrown in to a dog napping crime when one of her favorite dogs is dog napped at a local dog talent show. Lucie enlists the help of her brother Joey and her best friend Ro and her current man Tim a local detective.
Lucie and Tim head back to the owners area to wish good luck to Otis' owner only to discover that Otis has been taken. It seems in the short couple of minutes that it took for his owner to meet them at the entrnce to the owners area someone managed to snatch Otis.
Lucie jumps in to high gear and she and Tim and Otis's owner start searching the area for Otis, when they can not find him they extend the search and get the security team involved along with the police.
Things look really bad for Otis when they can not find him inside the building, so Tim speak to the owner of another dog at the show, their dog's special talent is search and find. The owners are glad to help and their dog is soon hot on the trail of Otis and the dog napped.
This one is full of fun, twists turns and humor. A must read for animal loves, mystery lovers and anyone who loves a book that makes them laugh.

I originally got Red Sole Clues because an author I follow has a novella in this anthology. I thoroughly enjoyed all the novellas plus I found some new authors that I definitely plan on checking into their other works. Some of the storylines in this anthology had the element of humor added while others were more serious but they all were very good mystery romances.

My favorite, and original reason for getting the book, was Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano. In this novella, Lucie and her new boyfriend Tim the Oh so Sexy Detective, along with Lucie’s brother Joey and her best friend Ro, attend a local Dog Show. The gang is at the dog show to sell some of Lucie’s pet accessories as well as to cheer on the lovable dog Otis. Otis's is one of the dogs Lucie and her team walk on a daily bases (they walk dogs as well as sell personally designed pet accessories). If you follow the Lucie Rizzo mysteries series, you know wild times are ahead because where Lucie and the gang go, craziness always seems to follow and this novella doesn’t disappoint in that department. It’s a funny mystery with Lucie and the team at the their finest.

2 thumbs up for a highly entertaining book containing a set of great mystery novellas.

So far I've read two of these novella's and plan to read the rest!

In Honor and Protect by Lori Ryan, Lily, the vet in Evers not only hears about dog racing, but finds horrifically treated dog...and that's the one she can save. Chief Deputy Sheriff Carter can only do so much about the dog racing ring. As Lily takes it upon herself to stop this and puts herself in grave danger, an attraction between her and Carter simmers.

Lily is a great character even if she doesn't stop and think about the danger to herself. In this quick novella I felt like I got to know her, and I liked her! I really liked Carter also. I couldn't wait to see if Lily's 'no dating policy' would hold, if Carter could keep Lily safe, and if they'd put an end to the dog fighting.

A fast paced novella that is well developed in it's pages, I enjoyed this read.

In Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano, Lucie and friends get caught up in a dognapping at a dog show! A fast paced, quick read, it's easy to follow these interesting characters.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the novellas in this book!

I received Dog Collar Limbo only of the anthology of short stories from Red Sole Clues as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Dog Collar Limbo is an enjoyable short story because it is a different kind of book as well as a cozy mystery. This book was well written by Adrienne Giordano. Not only does it involve romance, mystery, but it was humorous as well. This is a continuation of Dog Collar Crimes. Lucie Rizzo is such a charismatic individual—you cannot help but to love how sincere she is and good hearted. Lucie, Det. O’Brien, Ro, and Lucy’s brother Joey attends a dog show in Chicago to see Otis (favorite dog that Lucy walks) perform at the show. As usual, trouble seems to follow Lucie concerning her dogs—this time Otis is kidnapped! Will Lucie and her friends be able to find Otis and save him before it is too late? Will this be the end of Otis? Since Det. O’Brien is helping Lucie to solve the case, will this bring them closer together? Although this is a short story, it is an easy and fun read that will pique your interest. If you have read any of Adrienne’s books before, you will enjoy this book as well.

Red Sole Clues/Honor and Protect by Lori Ryan

I’m not usually a fan of short stories/novellas but Lori Ryan is the best at creating a story that is just as good as the much longer versions.

Honor and Protect is one of the stories in Red Sole Clues. Lori’s Hero and Heroine are strong characters, the story is really strong and starts with a bang and you can’t stop turning pages. As always she has some very bad guys being very bad in her books. In Honor and Protect Lily Winn has come to town to take over her grandfather’s Vet practice and stumbles upon an injured and dying dog. She takes him to her clinic and fixes him up. She realizes there is a dog racing ring and she tries to play detective to get the bad guys.

Carter Jenkins is on the police force and is in charge while the chief is on his honeymoon. He has had his eye on Lily for a while and hopes to get to know her better. When she comes to him for help with the injured dogs they start seeing each other and sparks fly and bad guys come out of the woodwork!

I received this as an ARC for an honest review. Honor and Protect is the only story I’ve read from Red Sole Clues.

I love the Dog Collar series by Adrienne Giordano and was excited that Ms. Giordanno wrote a novella to keep us up-to-date with the antics of Lucie Rizzo and her cohorts. In Dog Collar Limbo, Lucie’s favorite client, Otis, enters a talent show only to disappear after showcasing his talent: limboing.

It’s always fun and interesting when Lucie, her best friend Ro, and her brother Joey team up to help solve whatever caper they come across. I have to say, I really love the addition of Lucie’s new boyfriend Tim. He is a nice counter-balance for Lucie.

I really enjoyed this short novella and can’t wait for the next book in the series. If you love light hearted mysteries, then this is the series for you. This is one of the novellas within the Red Sole Clues boxed set. I only had the opportunity to read and review this novella and look forward to reading the others.

Red Dog Collar Limbo - Red Soles Clues Anthology by Adrienne Giordano

You cannot help but love Lucie Rizzo...there is just something about her that is endearing. Having her involved with Detective Tim O'Brien (O'Hottie according to Ro) is so darn sweet and really pulls at the heartstrings. That they are such an unlikely pair due to her family and his profession, makes them so much more fun.

It's refreshing to read a series that is wholesome, yet so very entertaining. Ms Giordano does a wonderful job of moving the story along at a fast pace, injecting humor at just the right moment, but what makes her writing so entertaining, is that these humorous moments aren't forced; just pure hilarity through a mixture of the characters' dialog and the current circumstances.

I truly hope that Ms Giordano plans a long series for Lucie, I can see myself reading about her exploits for many books to come.

This book was provided by the author for my honest review.

I need to take the time to let you know about a collection of stories, Red Sole Clues. I did so, for Adrienne Giordano, whom I adore as an author. She has the ability to touch the Chicagoan, which is deeply rooted in my soul. If you get a chance to read any of her works, you'll know just what I mean. It had stories which covered the emotional scale. I laughed and snorted out loud with Lilian Hart. Oh, boy, is she funny! Then, I was "at home" with Adrienne Giordano's story. The next story I read had the OMG humor. Great relationships and awkward situations. That was well done, too, and written by Alyssa Day. Next, you get the well done paranormal story by Lori Ryan. I don't normally like shapeshifter stories, but this one was very easy to accept within the context of the story. I really liked it. That is saying a lot. The final story by Marquita Valentine had the edge to it. It had the suspense and the uncomfortable moments that go along with it.

So far I've read Lori Ryan's "Honor and Protect". It's a novella from her Evers Texas series but can totally be read as a stand alone. Carter Jenkins is enamored by the new town Vet Lily Winn. Lily, however has sworn off men and dating. Carter has to slowly prove to Lily that he's worth the chance. Lily catches wind of illegal dog racing in the area and is determined to stop it. Carter filling in for the chief while the chief is on his honeymoon is try his best to help with the small department he has. When Lily decides to check things out for herself Carter doesn't know weather to strangle her for putting herself in danger or kiss her senseless. For a novella this story unfolds quickly but not lacking in content. It held my interest as I read it in one sitting. Lots of breath holding moments were totally worth the read. A true romantic suspense story.

*possible spoilers*

This is a prequel to Alyssa's new series Tiger Eye Mystery. It is not required to read before reading the series but it is a fun little intro into his journey to Dead End.

WOLVES, TIGERS, ELVES, OH MY! Jack was on his way to Dead End when he stopped into a little diner for some food on. There he meets Vanessa and gets tangled up in helping to solve the mystery of "Who shot Santa Clause?". With the help of the Alpha Wolf (Alec), Vanessa and Jack are able to solve the mystery of who shot and kidnapped Santa Clause.

Alyssa does a wonderful job of being quirky but not dragging the story on to long. It was a wonderful little prequel to the Tiger eye mystery series. I cant wait to read more of Jack's journey.

Lucie has a mystery to solve again in this short story that has her pitted against a dog thief. Lucie is using a dog show to push her Coco Barknell Boutique items while supporting one of her dog walking customers when said customer disappears and then the hunt is on. With the help of Tim – her current boyfriend, her brother Joey, and BFF Rhonda they search high and low in hopes of returning Otis to his owner. This fun, easy and quick to read story is half a day in the life of Lucie and a nice gap-stopper between books two and three.

Thank you to the author for the copy to read and review. I have not read the other books in this anthology but have read some of the authors’ work and believe it will be varied and fun with something for everyone.

Great Boxed Set!
This looks like a great set, there are five short stores in this set by five different authors.
Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano was a great book. This book is part of the Lucie Rizzo series. Lucie Rizzo is a mafia princess who is trying to grow her dog walking/ pet accessories business. Her favorite client is in a dog show, where he gets kidnapped. Lucie and her friends are on the case to track down the pup and dognapper. I can’t wait until the next book in this series comes out.
I am also looking forward to reading the other books in this boxed set!

I received an ARC of Honor and Protect from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the only story in the anthology I have read so far and I will update my review if/when I read the other stories in this collection. Honor and Protect is a quick romantic suspense read and I really enjoyed it. It had a good story and I think it could have made an excellent full length novel however I do not feel the story suffered because of the shortened length. Lily and Carter’s love story is not as sexy as some of Ms. Ryan's other offerings but it had an excellent story and kept me turning pages. If you are looking for a good, quick read to while away a long lunch or afternoon this might just be the one for you.

I like reading anthologies and this review is in regard to the story included by Adrienne Giordano titled Dog Collar Limbo.

I really enjoyed the short story about a woman who is not going to let someone steal a dog on her watch. I was not previously familiar with the character of Lucie Rizzo but am now a fan. She is a really interesting character. She is the daughter of a mob boss and is dating a Chicago police detective. She has a crazy best friend. She is still in the early stages of her relationship with her boyfriend and things are definitely heating up for them both. In this story, one of the dogs she dog walks is stolen from the show and she intends to hunt down the thief. It is a really fun read.

This is a funny short story with lots of mystery, romance and tons of humor. This is a very well written story and the mystery of the beloved Otis being kidnapped and the team is on the hunt to solve the mystery and bring Otis before it is too late. Being a short story there isn’t a lot you can say without giving the story away. I really enjoyed this book and this author who pulls you in giving you a wonderful read. this for Honor and Protect by Lori Ryan and I loved it. If you have read either of her Heroes of Evers TX books than you will adore this book. If you have then no worries you can easily read this short novella without having read her other two books. If you like suspenseful reads with a HEA then this is the story for you. This was a great fast paced outstanding story.

Read Dog Collar Limbo and it was so freaking cute. First story I've read by this author but it was a cute one. Kept my interest from the 1st to last page. Always love stories with dogs in them, having a story revolving around a dog show even better.

I was given the privilege of reading an ARC of Last Target by Marquita Valentine. I have been reading Ms. Valentine for many years and I love that she recently has set her sights on more action packed stories. Max and Pipa had all the ingredients to cook up a great story. A turbulent history, an estranged love affair and a lethal combination of a love/hate vibe going on. The time bomb in this story was time. Due to the fact that the story was so short there was no build up to the action and that proved a deterrent to the story. Although it pains me to say it, Last Target did not work for me.

I was given the pleasure of reading Last Target by Marquita Valentine. Max and Pippa have been estranged for 4 years and even though they have worked together Max is now no longer with the SIS or MI6. After returning to his flat he finds her red soled shoes with a note...Pippa has been kidnapped by a terrorist and he has 24 hours to rescue her. With the length of this story, it was...eh...okay. If it was longer, it could have been better. There was so much that could have been better because we were not let in on what they were really feeling for each other. Otherwise, for a wham-bam-thank you mam it was great!

In front of everyone, Otis is stolen. Now they have to work fast to save him.
Adrienne puts them into a fast pace 'find Otis' mode with twists and turns that keeps you reading in hopes they find him in time.
Another in the romantic suspense series, Dog Collar, interspersed with humor which makes you want to read more by Adrienne Giordano. I read it in one sitting.

Review of Dog Collar Limbo by Adrienne Giordano
How does Lucie always manage to find trouble? Going to a dog show to see Otis, her favorite dog walking client, should be fun. Instead it's a search and rescue mission to rescue the pooch. I love watching Lucie along with her boyfriend, Detective Tim O'Brien, track down the culprit. This story is fast-paced and humorous. The dialogue is snappy and Ro, her bff, and Joey, her brother, are a hoot. I admit that I'm hooked on the Lucie Rizzo mystery series. Adrienne Giordano knows how to combine mystery, romance and humor.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.

One good story out of five. Don't be taken in.

Whiskey on the rocks was the only descent story in this series of five. There was a paranormal, an English,Russian, who knows what story, and 2 stories about dogs.
There were more like story assignments in English class than stories they are selling for enjoyment. I was extremely disappointed and found it a big waste of money. I always enjoy Lillian Hart books so will wait for the real thing next time as I'm sure whiskey on the rocks will come out in a "stand alone" version later. I won't have to read or pay for all the other malarkey that went into this book. The other stories were lousy and a waste of time.
