Kevin Siembieda (born April 2, 1956) is an American artist, writer, designer, and publisher of role-playing games, as well as being the founder and president of Palladium Books.

Palladium Books, founded in southeast Michigan, claims to be the first to implement a role-playing system intended to work for all genres and to introduce the perfect-bound trade paperback format to the RPG industry.

Some of the role-playing games Siembieda helped produce include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness (1985), Robotech RPG (1986), After The Bomb (1986), and Rifts (1990).

Siembieda is also an artist, best known for occasionally illustrating Palladium Books' products. In 1978, he started the now-defunct Megaton Publications in Detroit, publishing a digest style title called A+ Plus and several other titles. He also contributed art and cartography to several early Judges Guild products (for both their Traveller and Dungeons & Dragons lines).

Great roleplaying game based on a cartoon that still haunts me to this day. I use this book to supplement my Rifts campaign.

Gone is the United Earth Government. Gone are the Armies of the Southern Cross. Gone are the independent states and baronies that arose in both previous eras. The Earth belongs to the Invid!

The Earth post Invid Invasion is one where small groups of freedom fighters and "rebels" fight against the Invid Occupation, simply trying to survive until the return of the REF and the liberation of the Earth...

...Or, you can play in the alternative scenario proposed by this RPG setting and that is a second Invid Invasion. The liberation was successful and Humanity had reclaimed the Earth, but then the Invid returned. Not as many this time, thus giving our players hope for victory since there will not be another liberation force from beyond. Why did they return, you ask? Well, the Regis and her Invid left and are still searching for a new homeland...but in the meantime, they still need the Flower of Life, and Earth is still covered with them.

The players primary enemy are, of course, the Invid; however, much like previous eras, Macross and Southern Cross, where one could encounter Anti-Unification Rebels or Independent Armies, respectively, the Earth of Invid Invasion is awash with collaborators and anarchic gangs.

Also, unlike previous eras which focused on the players as pilots of Mecha, the giant war machines, here we see a shift more towards conventional vehicles and Cyclones: the "Motorcycle Veritech." Stats for the Alpha and Beta Fighters are present, as they were in the cartoon, but outside of just surviving this dangerous world, keeping these Mecha armed, fueled, and in good repair should be the primary focus of the players and quite challenging. There are a couple of random encounter tables near the back, but nothing that I feel can really be woven into a deep campaign narrative. And you can always mess with your players by throwing their character in a Genesis Pit and mutating them mercilessly.

Personally, I find it difficult to tell a story in the Invid Invasion setting of the Robotech RPG. The cartoon was mostly the characters getting from Point A to Point B. Sadly, as this was the end of the cartoon series, there isn't much of a "What Happens After?" vibe.

Well, unless you want to interweave Macross Plus or Macross II into your storyline...but that tale is for another time.
