This book on St. Patrick for kids recounts the life of one of our most celebrated saints. In Patrick: Saint of Ireland, author Joyce Denham draws upon legend and St. Patrick's own writings to tell kids this saint's fascinating story and to offer them important lessons about life and faith. St. Patrick’s own prayers provide a lyrical element to the adventure. Luminous illustrations by renowned artist Diana Mayo help young readers understand how St. Patrick brought light into a dark time of cruelty and superstition. The combination of beautiful artwork and lively storytelling makes this book a wonderful keepsake. Ages 4 and up.
This is St. Patrick story and his calling from God to bring Christianity to Ireland, where he had once been a slave. Book includes the shamrock to explain the divinity of the trinity and also some of his prayers. I love St. Patrick! The illustrations are appealing even if a little infantile.
A good way to introduce kids to the life and work of Patrick of Ireland. One small note is that his real name wasn't Patrick. Shows two snakes but doesn't mention the legend of Patrick causing all the snales to flee Ireland. That is false because Ireland never had snakes to begin with. A good book to read on St. Patricks day! The art is beautiful!
Wonderful book on Saint Patrick! Complete story including Easter fire and a song and poem written by Patrick, as well as using the shamrock to explain the trinity. Didn’t include his original British name (Maewyn Succat) as well as full details, but it’s a children’s book.
