I haven’t tried all the recipes in this book, but there are a few classic cocktails in this book that don’t follow classic instructions, such as the Death in the Afternoon, which is traditionally an absinthe cocktail, but in this book doesn’t include absinthe. The instructions are clear and the pictures are well done. This book looks great on my bookshelf.

Great starter cocktail book. Explains how to make the different types of cocktails, which ice is best, which glass is best and how to layer the ingredients. If you are starting to venture into the cocktail / mocktail world, would highly recommend this book.

The most delicious drinks reside in the making of this book. Well worth the price for the amount of creative, classic and clever new drinks it describes how to make. Excellent for both beginners and those who have been drinking for years lol There's something useful for everyone (over the age of 21) in this book!

This was a fun book to read through. I enjoyed some of the recipes they included and critiqued some of my work when it comes to making certain drinks. I will be coming back to this book many times this year for reference on some things I marked to come back and read later. This book was thorough and knowledgeable in both material and application of craft. Excellent present from the girlfriend!

There are many, many books with drink recipes. This is just one more.

It includes some nice photography but is just, functionally, a list of context-less cocktails. The information is not any more helpful than a quick online search.

This was a “layup” book (quick read) and a delightful gift from my son’s very thoughtful girlfriend. I didn’t give it 5 stars because there is no margarita recipe! 😀 Will be a fun addition to my bar and will definitely try many of the “classic cocktails and curious concoctions”.

Solid recipes, and I like that they all have pictures. But the formatting is a little odd and the font choices aren't the easiest to read.

A collection of simple cocktails anyone can put together. Each drink is accompanied by easy directions and a photo. There are enough flavours to satisfy everyone.
