Holly Webb is one of Britain's best-loved children's writers. She has written over a hundred books for children, and her work has been translated into over thirty languages. Holly lives in Tilehurst, just outside of Reading, Berkshire, with her husband, three children and several cats.
The little Jack Russel terrier pup ends up homeless when the family that owns him moves to America. Gracie wants a dog, but her family can't have one in the house they live in, so she and her brother start to volunteer in a local dog shelter, where she comes across Harry.
Life in a dog shelter, why dogs end up there, and how they feel about it, is not an easy thing to write about in a children's story, but Holly Webb does it well in this book. It feels realistic enough, and at the same time quite cute. Definitely a good dog story for kids.
I enjoy Holly Webb's animal stories because they work. Both on an educational and an emotional level. They never feel repetitive or slip into cliché. This was no exception.
This is a stand-alone book that all ages can enjoy. I did.
This wonderful book by Holly Webb is delightful. I finished reading it in 2 and a half hours (8 chapters). I highly recommend it. Since you started reading the first page, you don't want to do anything. All Holly Webb books are wonderful !!!
Perfect book for a 6-7 year old apartment-living girl who is caring and loves dogs. She will understand the ups-and-downs of dog ownership Grace and Harry experience before ending up together.
A sweet little story about a puppy whose family is moving overseas and cannot take him. Harry winds up at an animal shelter and shuts down until a girl named Grace starts volunteering at the shelter. She falls in love with Harry and the feeling is mutual - but Grace's family lives in an apartment where they cannot have a dog.
Will Grace's family find a new place to live or will Harry go to another family?
No tak średnio bym powiedziała.

One of the first books I've read from this series (if not the first). The cover, I admit, is what drew me to it. It's so cute! I knew I had to buy it. It's a very sweet, amazing story. Some scenes made me emotional. Definitely recommend.
Harry is a puppy that is left at a dog shelter by his owner, Beth, because she has to move. He wants nothing more than his beloved Beth to come back to take him home, but fate has other plans. A little girl named Grace begins to volunteer at the dog shelter and falls in love with the little puppy called Harry. Instead of a dog and his boy, this is the tale of a dog and his girl or a girl and her dog. It gives the perspective of both Grace and Harry throughout the book to help the reader understand the bond between these two better. I felt like a little girl again while reading this book. Every moment of it is enthralling. It would be a great book to read to young elementary students or to use in a lesson on responsibility.
