Sie arbeitete in einer Werbeagentur, studierte einige Semester Jura, Geschichte und Germanistik, bis sie nach ihrer Heirat ihren Mann im familieneigenen Betrieb unterstützte.

Ihre im Vordertaunus angesiedelte Krimiserie mit den Ermittlern Oliver von Bodenstein und Pia Kirchhoff, die Nele Neuhaus zunächst im Selbstverlag veröffentlichte bevor der Berliner Ullstein-Verlag sie 2008 entdeckte und unter Vertrag nahm, machte sie zu einer der meistgelesenen Krimiautorinnen im deutschsprachigen Raum. Ihre Taunuskrimis erreichten bisher eine Gesamtauflage von einer Million, die Rechte wurden in 20 Länder verkauft, unter anderem nach Italien, Frankreich, Spanien, Holland, Korea, Russland, Brasilien und in die USA.

Ihr Krimi "Schneewittchen muss sterben" gelangte bereits drei Tage nach Erscheinen im Juni 2010 unter die TOP20 der SPIEGEL-Bestsellerliste und steht seitdem auch bei Internetbuchhändler Amazon auf den vordersten Verkaufsrängen. Seit Anfang 2011 stehen alle vier Krimis von Nele Neuhaus unter den TOP50 der SPIEGEL-Bestsellerliste.

Im Frühjahr 2011 erschien im Thienemann-Verlag der erste Band der Jugendbuchreihe "Elena - Ein Leben für Pferde" mit dem Titel "Gegen alle Hindernisse". Band 2 folgte bereits im Juli 2011.

Der fünfte Fall für ihr Ermittlerduo Oliver von Bodenstein und Pia Kirchhoff mit dem Titel "Wer Wind sät" erschien am 13. Mai 2011 und schoss direkt auf Platz 1 der Spiegel-Bestsellerliste. Im September 2011 stehen alle 5 Krimis unter den 15 meistverkauften Taschenbüchern in der Bestsellerliste von Spiegel Online, "Tiefe Wunden" ist in Frankreich erschienen und "Schneewittchen muss sterben" in Holland.

Το Εγώ θα σε δικάσω είναι το δεύτερο βιβλίο της σειράς που διαβάζω και μου άρεσε πάρα πολύ γιατί διαφέρει σε κάποια σημεία με άλλα αστυνομικά του είδους. Έχει χαρακτήρες που είνα ενδιαφέροντες και ανθρώπινοι οπότε είναι εύκολο να βρεις κοινά στοιχεία μαζί τους καθώ διάβαζεις την ιστορία, έχει κοινωνικούς προβληματισμούς, αναφέρεται σε προβλήματα της καθημερινότητας και έχει ενδιαφέρουσα πλοκή. Παρά τις 650 σελίδες του μου κράτησε αμείωτο το ενδιαφέρον και το διάβασα ευχάριστα. Επίσης μου αρέσει που αυτή η σειρά διαδραματίζεται στη Γερμανία.

I'm Your Judge is the second book of the series that I've read and I really liked it because there are some subtle differences from other crime novels. It has characters that are interesting and unique but you still can relate to since they are not perfect and make mistakes, it refers to social and also every day problems and has an interesting crime investigating plot. Even though the Greek copy is 650 pages long it kept my interest until the end and I read it without getting bored. Another thing I like is that the series is taking place in Germany.

I AM YOUR JUDGE is the latest book published here in Sweden. It's the seventh book in the Bodenstein & Kirchhoff series. Before I started to read this book, did I take on the two previously published (Swedish) books and they were fabulous. I was at first a bit confused when I read SNOW WHITE MUST DIE. It felt like I started to read a story in the middle, liked I had missed the beginning. However, I learned that this was because SNOW WHITE MUST DIE is book four. The first three books haven't been published in Sweden. It explained a lot. I hope to see them published in Swedish some day.

I AM YOUR JUDGE is a fantastic crime novel. We have lone gunman that seems to kill people without any rhyme or reason. He just shoots people and the citizens in the city are afraid to go out. Oliver von Bodenstein and Pia Kirchhoff are working hard to find something that binds the people killed together. They are under a lot of stress. Any day can someone new be shot.

Nele Neuhaus has stepped right into my list of favorite authors. I just love her books. All the books I have read so far (three) has held the same high standard and I'm impressed how she managed to write the stories in such a way that I always suspect a lot of people. I was so thrilled with the books that I ordered the only book I could find translated into English that I had yet to read. And that's THE ICE QUEEN, book three in the series. I hope more books will be translated into Swedish or English. I wouldn't mind either to see the books turned into movies or mini-series.

Ενα συναρπαστικό αστυνομικό μυθιστορημα με απίστευτες ανατροπές!!! Θα το λατρέψετε!!! Αν σας αρέσουν αυτού του είδους, σας το προτείνω.
Υπαρχουν πολλά ονόματα, αλλά δεδομένο του όγκου του βιβλίου, είναι λογικό.
Ηταν στιγμές που λυπήθηκα την Πία και τον Μποντενσταιν, τους αστυνομικούς που ανελαβαν αυτή την σοβαρή υπόθεση!!!!!!

Nele Neuhause's Bodenstein & Kirchhoff books each have their own theme. This one was about donorship and organ transplantation. For me this was one of her best books so far. I wasn't bored for a minute, the pace was good.

Die bisherigen 6 Bände der Reihe habe ich sehr gern gelesen und auch gut bewertet. Beim 7. Teil allerdings konnte ich mich nur zu 2 Sternen durchringen, da mir 1. das Grundthema Organspende/-transplantation leider nicht zusagte und dies außerdem in ganz schwarzen Farben dargestellt wird. Auch die Ermittlungen traten mir zu sehr auf der Stelle, es wird dem vermeintlichen Täter nur hinterher gefahren, man ist immer einen Schritt zurück, das Motiv ist an den Haaren herbeigezogen und die diesmal auftretenden Nebencharaktere mehr als nervig.
Leider war dieser Teil der Reihe nichts für mich, und ich hoffe, dass mir der nächste Band wieder erheblich besser gefallen wird.

Sākot lasīt grāmatu, sapratu, ka esmu sērijas vidū un ik pa laikam bija atsauces uz iepriekšējām grāmatām. Tas netraucēja sekot līdzi spraigajai intrigai un mēģināt saprast, kurš ir snaiperis. Autore līniju godam iztur līdz beigām un līdz pēdējai grāmatas daļai notiek minēšana, kurš tad ir īstais vainīgais.

I’m pretty sure I check on Goodreads before I pick or request certain books BUT for some reason, I’m still caught up with picking up and reading books from the middle of a series! I’m not just being pedantic but in this particular book, it was a little confusing trying to pick up where their personal relationships are at... for example, this guy got up from bed quietly so as not to wake someone in bed and a sentence later, it was mentioned that he’s divorced. It skipped a few steps of his stages in life of some years that I was quite confused! I had to work this out for a few of the characters.

On the other hand, the mystery itself was very good. What seem to be random killings of unlikely victims just before the holiday season threatened the peace of the public. Whilst people are hiding out at home to avoid being randomly murdered, the police are short-staffed and Detective Pia Kirchhoff decided to stay home to catch this serial killer than going on her honeymoon cruise. Oliver von Bodenstein, happy to have his partner on board, was not happy with the way the team’s dynamic has been disturbed with the specialist profiler they’ve seconded from another department. However, who is this profiler? And why does he seem to be incompetent?

To Catch a Killer will keep you guessing right up to the end. I would probably read the next book in the series but am not keen to pick up earlier books (I don’t like looking backward!). The main mystery was solved but I am left with several questions... there was an open situation left with certain character.

I keep returning to Nele Neuhaus despite the fact that she is a fairly uneven author and I never know what I'm going to get. This book is much better than "Böser Wolf" thankfully. There is more insight into the personal life of the main characters, which is the main reason for reading.

Pia Kirchhoff is about to go on her honeymoon when a sniper interrupts her plans and her vacation. Her boss, Oliver Bodenstein, appreciates her sacrifice. Soon there are more deaths. They all appear to be in connection with the death of a woman whose family was pressured into giving up her organs after she was proclaimed brain dead. The sniper leaves clues, saying that so-and-so had to die because of what his or her father did or didn't do.

This book certainly gave me new angles to organ donation than I had had before. The descriptions of it were off-putting to say the least. Makes me wonder whether I really would like to die on an operating table with several surgeons, standing foot-deep in my blood, working quickly to remove all organs and then leaving my emptied shell for someone else to take care of. If that really is what happens, I don't know, but it's how Neuhaus describes it anyhow.

It was an okay story, but I will probably only remember the details of the private lives of the main characters and forget the rest.

Mijn eerste boek van deze schrijfster. Zeker een aanrader. Vanaf de eerste bladzijde zat ik in het verhaal. Alleen het einde liet wat op zich wachten. Ik wilde op een gegeven moment zo graag weten wie de dader was dat het boek uit moest. Dat duurde mij echter iets te lang. Al snap ik wel dat bepaalde zaken nog uitgelegd moesten worden. De hoofdstukken vond ik soms wat aan de lange kant. Soms wel tachtig of meer bladzijdes. Ik lees graag van hoofdstuk naar hoofdstuk. Verder is het een interessant verhaal. De reden achter de moorden is goed gevonden en goed uitgewerkt. Je wordt ook regelmatig op het verkeerde been gezet, net als de politie. Hoewel ik de eerdere delen van de serie niet gelezen heb, is het verhaal goed te volgen.

If you like the type of murder mystery that keeps you on edge, then Nele Neuhaus's new book will be the next book you will read. You learn about all the characters throughout the book, Pia Kirchoff, or I should say Pia Sander, Bodenstein and his ex girl friend Inka Hansen, and all the suspects who were involved with Helen Stadler's mother's death. All revolving around being brain-dead and the issuing of body parts. Nele weaves in and out with each suspect and drives you with each person as it unfolds into a well written story. You won't regret reading this book.

2.5 stars... but just barely. This book suffers from the same issues as others in the series, namely:

* Bloat! It just feels so long. Yes, it's a complex story, but lots of points are repeated ad nauseum. Also, I think we could probably have done without one of the 23948230 bad guys who are, ahem, "implicated."
* A crappy translation (or maybe crappily written source material; I have no way of knowing). Here is a real live sentence from this book: "He was super pissed off." This MUST be a crappy translation of German (in which, I'm sure, there's a single word that means "super pissed off"), right?! Beyond odd wording like this, the dialogue is kinda horrendous.
* Weird plot inconsistencies that maybe are caused by translation issues? Suddenly Neff is into Kim, and it totally comes out of nowhere but is presented as a fact. Only much later is Pia like, "Oh, wow, how weird!" Also, on p. 269, Henning says they they're going to celebrate New Year's Eve "at Ralf and Tina's place" -- which is where one of the murders happens later that very night. YET NOBODY EVER ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HENNING APPARENTLY KNOWS THEM, even after one of them is killed. It also seems to suggest that Ralf is maybe Henning's brother?!? Which is never acknowledged?!? But again, the translation is so unclear and vague that it's hard to tell.

Also, my god, this police department is incompetent. I know they blame Neff and various interlopers for their failings, but wouldn't they double-check alibis and facts about people intimately involved in the case? I don't get it. They just drive all over the place, asking soft-ball questions and taking people's statements at face value, instead of doing actual detective work.

I keep reading because I enjoy Pia and Bodenstein, and the stories themselves are creative and (sometimes) decently plotted. But halfway through this book, the cracks started showing, and I started getting irritated.

Oh, also -- it felt a little odd that Neuhaus seems to be condemning organ transplantation through this outlandish story. I guess by the end we're supposed to know that it was just a few bad actors behaving in this immoral way, but... it rubbed me the wrong way a bit.

Neles Noihauzas trešā tulkotā grāmata latviešu valodā nelika vilties un nemaz neradīja trešā atšķaidījuma efektu. Kārtējās slepkavības , kas liek ar pieaugošu spēku kustināt smadzenes nu jau iepazītajiem un iemīlētajiem detektīviem Oliveram un Piai. Abi detektīvi joprojām saglabā savu cilvēcību ar savām ikdienas personīgajām problēmām. Autore meistarīgi spraigajā sižetā iepin detektīvu ikdienas dzīves pavedienus, ne par daudz, ne uzbāzīgi, bet pietiekoši, lai mēs sajustu detektīvu cilvēcību un justu viņiem līdzi.
Kriminālā sižeta ietvaros autore atkal ir risinājusi un uzrušinājusi kārtējo sociālo problēmu - orgānu transplantāciju, piekrišanu vai nepiekrišanu tai un dažādus ētiskos un juridiskos aspektus. Varbūt specifiskās lietās speciālistam būs pamanāmas nelielas nepilnības, bet par to autore arī atvainojas pēcvārdā, šo sadaļu nedaudz upurējot sparigāka sižeta labā. Katrā gadījumā pēc grāmatas izlasīšanas nākas nedaudz padomāt par transplantoloģijas aizkulisēm un perepētijām.
Kriminālais sižets, detektīvu darbība arī neļauj aizmigt. Lai gan sākotnēji izmeklēšana sākotnēji ir pilnīgā strupceļā, tomēr detektīvu prāta spēles , izvirzītās versijas un kolektīva iekšējās cīņas ļauj noturēt uzmanību līdz pat izšķirošajiem notikumiem. Nu bet tad, kad detektīviem parādās arvien vairāk pavedienu, nevar atrauties no grāmatas un nākas to lasīt līdz vākam, lai gan pulkstenis beigās rāda jau otro nakts stundu. Salīdzinājumā grāmata "DNS" no islandiešu rakstnieces Irsas likās pilnīgs pretstats, kur izmeklēšanas strupceļs pusgrāmatas garumā bija reti garlaicīgs un lasīt turpināju tikai tīri kārtības labad, grāmatai jābūt izlasītai, lai par to pateiktu viedokli.
Grāmatas lasīšanas laikā aizdomas par galveno aizdomās turamo periodiski mainās. Lieki teikt, ka galvā tiek apspēlētas gan detektīvu izvirzītās versijas, gan arī pašam savas pustrakās un trakās versijas (vainīgs tas, kurš liekas visnevainīgākais, vai pilnīgi pretēji pārliecinoši vainīgākais, bet to nedomās, jo tas ir pārāk acīmredzami). Un tomēr uzvarēja rakstniece, galveno slepkavu es aizdomās neturēju ne brīdi.
Katrā gadījumā laba lasām viela kriminālromānu cienītājiem, Jū Nesbē lasītājiem, A.Konana - Doila faniem un Lārsona atbalstītājiem.

Nele Neuhaus' Detective Pia Kirchhoff mysteries are intricately plotted, and I AM YOUR JUDGE is no exception. Pia is just about to go on a honeymoon trip with her new husband when a sniper kills a woman walking her dog. Pia gets the call, and since she has finished packing and has the time, she jumps in to help her boss and partner, Oliver von Bodenstein, by showing up at the scene until he can arrive. Bodenstein is short-handed, given Pia's vacation and a flu that seems to have decimated his staff.



While it wasn't clear at the outset whether the shooting was a random affair or a deliberate assassination, at least to the police, a pattern soon emerges as another sniper attack takes place. Pia struggles with deciding whether to stay to help with the case or go on her honeymoon, with the former winning out. Once she has decided to stay and join the investigation, she takes a lead role in untangling the complicated motive behind the shootings. Additional shootings take place and the sniper starts leaving clues as to his choice of victims in obituaries.



Throughout the book, Neuhaus offers a great deal of information about the medical and legal processes and consequences of organ donation. She does not do any favors for those who need transplants and are waiting for an organ donor with the correct blood type to die. Having read the book, some may reconsider signing their own organ donor cards. In addition to this theme, Neuhaus deals with the issue of privilege as Bodenstein tries to make a decision about whether to remain in the police force, and she handles a variety of family situations sensitively.



The intricacies of the plot and of the relationships make for slow reading. At just about 400 pages, the book is overlong to maintain suspense. Pia, Bodenstein, and their team are exhausted throughout the book, and realistic mistakes are made in questioning suspects. The exhaustion carries over to the reader, however, making the reading of the book as much of a trudge as the police work at times. The book would have benefited from a little less detail and a little more speed. Nonetheless, the underlying theme was fascinating, and Neuhaus does manage to make the reader care about Pia and Bodenstein, and even some of the more transitory characters.

I found this to be a very run-of-the mill police procedural.

A mysterious sniper kills a number of people who, at first glance, have no connection to each other. He obligingly sends messages that explain that these folks were killed out of vengeance, and that the real target is not the victims themselves, but their inconsolable daughter/husband etc. Pia Kirchhoff and her team find out that the connection between the families affected by the murders is the tragic accidental death of a young woman 10 years before, and the less-than-ideal way in which her organs were harvested and used for transplantion.

I felt that there was little originality in the book. Workaholic, disillusioned police officers ? check. The terrible toll that police work can take on private and family life? check. Devious serial killer who taunts the police by anonymous messages? check. I also found that there was actually very little detection going on in the book. Most of the breakthroughs came from an amateur, daughter of one of the first victims, who took it upon herself to investigate her family's past. It seems the author needed to have the police make some pretty elemental mistakes in order to be able to keep up the mystery long enough to fill the entire book. So it seemed to me that the police characters in the book spent most of their time worrying about their family/private life, dealing with office politics and PR, and rehashing their findings.

On top of that, the translation was far from perfect.

Ai, es turpinu priecāties par parastiem detektīviem, kuri bez superspējām risina noziegumus. Viņi nogurst, pieļauj neuzmanības kļūdas, izdara nepareizus secinājumus, saplēšas un apvainojas. Tai ķīmijai kriminālkomisariātā es ticu.

Slepkavību temats šoreiz ir ļoti no jūtīgā gala izvēlēts - die Organmafia. Transplantoloģija vienmēr ir stāsts par to, ka kāds iegūst no cita zaudējuma, bet nu te ir atvērta senās neuzticības Pandoras lāde. Piederīgie nevar pārbaudīt, vai ārsti rīkojas godīgi un pa pasauli klīst vairākas īstas sāgas par "orgānu biznesu". No šī tad nu ir arī radīts slepkavas motīvs. Tas ir ļoti pārliecinošs romāna pirmajā daļā, kur viss grozās ap ģimenes ciešanām, bet tā skaidrums kaut kur pazaudējas, kad tiek piepīti klāt arī medicīnas eksperimenti. Šķiet - tur ir pagrābts par daudz vienam kriminālromānam.

Kopumā bija aizraujoši, lai gan - uz beigām nogurdināja, jo stāstījums ievilkās.

Man no bibliotēkas ir vēl viena Neles Noihausas grāmata un vēl viena brīvdiena, ko labi pavadīt kopā ar Frankfurtes izmeklētājiem.

Die Zeiten, in denen man die Bücher von Nele Neuhaus zu den - meist recht harmlosen - Regionalkrimis zählen konnte, sind mit Die Lebenden und die Toten endgültig vorbei: Hier ist ein Serienmörder unterwegs, der seine Opfer mit äußerster Präzision aus der Ferne erschießt und die Menschen rund um Frankfurt in Angst und Schrecken versetzt. Zunächst erscheinen die Morde in keinem unmittelbaren Zusammenhang zu stehen, doch schnell wird klar, dass der Täter Rache für einen über zehn Jahre zurückliegenden Todesfall nimmt. Dabei tötet er jedoch nicht die eigentlichen Schuldigen, sondern deren nächste Angehörige. Für Pia Kirchhoff und Oliver von Bodenstein beginnt ein Wettlauf mit der Zeit, denn niemand weiß, wann der Sniper als nächstes zuschlägt und wie viele Opfer noch auf seiner Liste stehen.

Das Buch ist sehr spannend und kurzweilig geschrieben und ich habe schon lange keinen Krimi mehr derart verschlungen. Es gibt einige unerwartete Wendungen und das Thema Organspende wird sehr interessant dargestellt. Lediglich gegen Ende wird die Handlung ein wenig verworren und das Buch endet auch etwas abrupt, die Auflösung ist doch ein bisschen zu weit hergeholt für meinen Geschmack. Gut hat mir gefallen, dass das Privatleben der Ermittler zwar beschrieben wurde, jedoch nicht zu sehr im Vordergrund stand, wie dies in anderen Krimis oft der Fall ist. Eigentlich würde ich das Buch nur mit 3,5 Sternen bewerten, aufgrund das hohen Unterhaltungswerts habe ich mich aber doch für 4 Sterne entschieden. Dies war für mich der erste Fall von Kirchhoff/Bodenstein, wird aber definitiv nicht der letzte bleiben.

3.8 out of 5 stars -- Police Procedural dealing with themes of revenge, retribution and vengeance.

Bodenstein and Kirchhoff investigate murders committed by a sniper in this 7th book in the series. The killings are not random, and the duo soon finds the link between the victims but it takes quite a long time before they solve this case.

This is not a fast-paced thriller, nor is it extremely suspenseful, but the reader gets a sense of the frustration and meticulous attention to detail that is the real meat of a detective's job. The police seem to be behind at every turn and their exhaustion and anger at the perpetrator is evident really demonstrating the depth of these characters and their commitment. The case touches on issues of organ donation and transplantation and may hit a nerve or two in the readers from the medical community. The urge for money, power, and fame often corrupts.

I enjoyed this and believe that there would be a lot in here that would make for a great book club discussion. I like the characters and learning more about their personal lives. I think it best if you've read the previous books in the series as those cases are often mentioned in the narrative. I'll be looking forward to the next.

I've read other books in the Kirchhoff and von Bodenstein series and have enjoyed them for the two main characters and the books' plots. Once again, author Nele Neuhaus has created a really good storyline that takes a lot of deduction to put everything together, and it's one in which readers witness the sacrifices dedicated police officers often have to make in their personal lives, but-- ultimately-- I Am Your Judge just was not my cup of tea.

My reasons for this are mostly subjective, beginning with the title. I am a contrary soul, and when someone tells me point blank that he/she is my judge, I beg to differ. In addition, one of the storylines that I do not care for at all is the one in which the sins of the fathers are visited upon their children. I say, if you have a serious problem with your father and think he needs to die, then kill him, don't kill someone who doesn't have a thing to do with the situation. As you can see, Neuhaus did get a firm grip on my emotions with her plot and her killer, but it wasn't necessarily in a good way. It also didn't help that this book suffers from too much middle and could easily have lost around one hundred pages to tighten it up and heighten the suspense.

Yes, my dislike of this book is mainly subjective, so keep this in mind when you're trying to decide whether or not to read it. Your hot buttons may not be the same as mine.

Ja pie visas aizņemtības detektīvgabals ar gandrīz 500 lappusēm ir aprīts 2 dienās, tad tur ir bijusi intriga, kas dzen uz priekšu, un sakarīga izmeklēšana.

Man vispār patīk detektīvgabali, kur ir samērā klasiski noziegumi (t.i. slepkavības bez lielām izvirtībām), reālistisks motīvs, vēlams, vairāki aizdomās turamie, lai var palauzīt galvu, kurš ir īstais, un kurš izskatās vismazāk aizdomīgais. Un labāk policijas izmeklēšana nevis privātdetektīvi vai personas, kurām visur jāiebāž savs deguns (Salandere, protams, ir atsevišķs stāsts).

Noihausai bija viss komplekts. Grāmatas vidū man jau likās, ka viss - motīvs skaidrs, izkristalizējušies iespējamie vainīgie. Hmm, nez' ko var vēl nākošajās 200+ lpp. sarakstīt. Varbūt tiešām tam nevajadzēja veltīt 200+ lappuses, pietiku ar simtu (varēja koncentrētāk), bet par aizdomās turamajiem viņa tiešām pavazā aiz deguna (te viens, te otrs, un tik ticami, tik ticami).

Ik mocht dit boek lezen voor de thrillerleesclub van Hebban.
Ook hier maken we weer kennis met Olivier von Bodenstein en Pia Kirchhoff. Pia zou net op huwelijksreis gaan als ze geconfronteerd word met een bijzondere moord. Ze raakt er in betrokken en laat haar huwelijksreis er voor schieten. Samen met Olivier willen ze de dader vinden, een scherpschutter die moord om dierbaren te treffen. Het boek bestaat weer uit verschillende verhaallijnen met verschillende personages. Je wordt praktisch meegezogen in het verhaal en wil weten wie de dader is en waarom. Je denkt te weten wie de dader is, maar het plot is verrassend. Als je dit boek hebt gelezen besef je dat het onderwerp zeer actueel is en je gaat er meer over nadenken. Zeer gewaagd. Nele Neuhaus heeft mij weer kunnen boeien van begin tot het eind en ik geef het boek dan ook graag 4 sterren!

I'm ambivalent towards this one. It was ... meh. I didn't have the urge to chuck it across the room, though, so that's good, right?

I quickly got annoying with Oliver. It seemed like his only purpose in this book was to get mad at everyone, then tell us how personal this case is to him, and think about his relationships.

I thought the motives for the killings were stupid too. I can't believe that someone who is supposedly as motivated and cunning as that wouldn't realize that the only people who'd care about their family members dying aren't the ones that actually did the killing. It was an interesting take on revenge but someone willing to kill for greed isn't probably going to feel much for their family members dying. His choices were just to wide, if that makes sense.

Nezinu, kāpēc lasu Noihausas grāmatas.. ir plusi - nozīmīgas tēmas, par kurām reti kurš tik atlāti raksta, godīgums, tīri ok galvenie varoņi. Bet nu tas garlaicīgais rakstības stils.. par to mīnusi.

A taut, exciting thriller and an enjoyable read. Kept me guessing to the end. Sometimes the translation was a bit clunky, and I did get confused with all the similar sounding German names, but definitely better than the average book in this type of genre.

Eigentlich wollte Pia Kirchhoff den Dezember 2012 ruhig angehen lassen und mit ihrem frisch angetrauten Mann auf Hochzeitsreise gehen. Noch haben es beide nicht publik gemacht, dass sie geheiratet haben, sodass ihr Umfeld lediglich davon ausgeht, dass Pia ihren "Freund" auf einer Dienstreise begleitet. Doch so sehr sie auch mit den Vorbereitungen beschäftigt ist, kann sie sich nicht von der Arbeit lösen, denn in dieser so besinnlichen Zeit kurz vor Weihnachten, so eigentlich alle auf friedvolle Familientage eingestellt sind, wird eine Frau beim Gassigang mit dem Hund ihrer Tochter erschossen. Vom Täter fehlt jede Spur. Während der Ermittlungen kommt heraus, dass weder das Opfer, noch dessen Umfeld, Feinde hatte.


Kurz darauf ereignet sich ein weiterer Mord. Eine ältere Frau wird während des Weihnachtsplätzchenbackens durch die Scheibe ihres Küchenfensters erschossen. Doch sie war zu diesem Zeitpunkt, im Gegensatz zum vorherigen Opfer, nicht allein. Ihre Tochter hielt sich mit in der Küche auf, wurde jedoch vom Täter nicht gesehen. Hat das der jungen Frau das Leben gerettet? Auch hier stehen die Ermittler vor einem Rätsel, denn wie schon zuvor scheint auch bei diesem Opfer niemand ein Motiv gehabt zu haben. Deren Tochter jedoch beschließt, hinter die Gründe zu kommen, warum ihre Mutter sterben musste.


Erst im Laufe der Ermittlungen stellt sich heraus, dass die Opfer, wenn auch nicht direkt, so doch indirekt eine Gemeinsamkeit hatten. Alle hatten in ihrem Umfeld Menschen, die vor zehn Jahren indirekt mit einer jungen Frau zu tun hatten, die auf Grund eines Hirnschlags verstarb und deren Organe freigegeben wurden. Ein drittes Opfer, ein junger Mann, der das Herz der jungen Frau erhielt, bekräftigt die Ermittlungsergebnisse der Polizei, doch wer ist der Täter und warum mordet dieser. Pia Kirchhoff stürzt sich, zusammen mit ihrem Chef Oliver von Bodenstein in den Fall, denn auf Grund des hohen Krankenstandes und ihrer Verantwortung den Opfern gegenüber, kann sie einfach nicht in Urlaub fahren. Zum Glück hat sie in Christoph einen sehr verständnisvollen Partner, doch ihr erklärtes Ziel ist es, den Opfer Gerechtigkeit widerfahren zu lassen ...



7. Band der Bodenstein/Kirchhoff-Reihe! Der Plot wurde realistisch und spannend erarbeitet. Faszinierend empfand ich, dass sich die Autorin diesmal mit dem sowieso schon umstrittenen Thema der Organspende auseinander gesetzt hat. Besonders begeistert hat mich, dass sich die Geschichte erst nach und nach auflöst und schlussendlich in einer menschlichen Tragödie von vor zehn Jahren gipfelt, welche schlussendlich u. a. der Auslöser für die derzeitigen Taten gab. Die Figuren wurden wieder authentisch erarbeitet, wobei ich nach wie vor hell auf begeistert von Pia Kirchhoff bin, die auf Grund ihres Pflichtbewusstseins gegenüber den Opfern sogar bereit ist, ihre Hochzeitsreise zu verschieben, um ihre Kollegen bei den Ermittlungen zu unterstützen. Oliver von Bodenstein hingegen wirkt auf mich immer undurchsichtiger - wie bereits schon einmal geschrieben: sollte er den Serientod sterben, weine ich ihm bestimmt keine Träne nach und hoffe doch nur, dass er einen guten Mordfall abgibt! Den Schreibstil empfand ich als geradezu fesselnd, sodass ich mich nur mit Mühe zwischendurch von dem Buch trennen konnte. Jetzt ist die Zeit des Wartens angebrochen, ich hoffe jedoch, dass ein weiterer Band der Reihe nicht allzu lange auf sich warten lässt.

Mir fällt es so so schwer eine Rezension zu diesem Buch zu schreiben und ich weiß nicht, warum, denn ich fand es wirklich gut!
Direkt im Vorhinein muss ich sagen, dass ich mich aus Versehen gespoilert habe und ich ungefähr wusste, worum es in dem Buch gehen wird und trotz Spoiler hatte ich keinen Plan, wie um alles in der Welt die Handlung dahin führen soll.

Leider werden aber auch in diesem Buch mal wieder die typischen Klischees bei den verschiedensten Personen aufgegriffen, wie zum Beispiel eine harte Vergangenheit bei den ermittelten Personen und natürlich kaputte Ehen, neue Ehen, etc. und ich frage mich wie immer: Warum muss das sein?
Zu den Charakteren kann ich nicht viel sagen, außer, dass mir Bodenstein gefällt. Guter Mann. Pia selbst war ein wenig langweilig als Person und hat zumindest für mich auch eher eine Nebenrolle gespielt.
Sehr amüsant fand ich eine Szene, wo sich 2 Passantinnen über die Polizei aufgeregt haben und mit einem Polizisten diskutierten. Hätte im echten Leben 1:1 so passieren können.

Obwohl es ein Buch einer Reihe ist, kann man es meiner Meinung nach ohne Bedenken lesen, auch ohne die anderen Bücher zu kennen. Es gibt zwar ein paar Anspielungen auf andere Bücher, aber die werden eigentlich gut erklärt, sodass es nicht notwendig ist, die restlichen Bücher zu lesen.

Das Hauptthema des Buches, welches sich im Laufe des Romans herauskristallisiert, war sehr gut gewählt, weil ich bis dato davon noch nichts mitbekommen habe. Es hat auf jeden Fall zum Nachdenken angeregt und ich werde mich jetzt im Nachhinein nochmal genauer damit beschäftigen und recherchieren.
Und wenn du dann denkst, dass da ja eigentlich keine Überraschungen mehr kommen können, dann liegst du sowas von falsch. Ich war bis zum Ende nicht sicher, wer der oder die Mörder*in sein könnte, obwohl ich direkt zum Anfang bereits eine Vermutung hatte und sogar schon enttäuscht war, weil ich dachte, dass diese Person /der/die Täter*in ist. Nele Neuhaus hat mich als Leserin so verdammt gut in die Irre geführt, dass mich das Ende vollkommen verwirrt hat und ich mit der Auflösung so gar nicht gerechnet habe.
