“I will always love you, no matter what.”

This was an adult contemporary romance, which picked up where the previous book left off.

Henley was an okay character in this, and she certainly went through a lot. She did self-destruct a bit at times though, and choosing to take drugs to numb the pain possibly wasn’t the best idea.

The storyline in this was about the cliff-hanger at the end of book 1, I can’t say too much without dropping spoilers, but boy did it make things hard to Henley! Pretty much the whole book was about how hard things were for Henley with regards to her on-and-off relationships, getting arrested multiple times, and then drug abuse.

The ending to this was another cliff-hanger.

So many opening lines are running through my head. I guess the most important one is how in the world I didn't discover this author and series sooner. I know I had at least seen or heard of them, but not sure why I hadn't picked them up before. I have another book waiting in the wings that I need to get read in reviewed, but spologies to the suthor of that book, there is no way I am reading anything else before I finish the next three books in the series. Even if I have about 457 newly invented curse words to thtow at the author for the emotional rollercoaster she has had me on since about the second chapter of Guitar Face.

Guitar Face threw me for a loop because I had never cried so much while reading a book. Ha! There's No Crying in Rock'n Roll made Guitar Face look like a mild allergy attack in comparison. I spent at least a full 1/3 of this book with tears running down my face. I dare not say Part 3 had better lighten up abit because I am scared of what kind of twisted stuff could cause more tears than this one did. Ms. Marshall really should get some kind of percentage from Kleenex for all the tissues these first two books of hers have caused to be cluttering up our landfills.

Poor Henley. The things she goes through in this book are dark, and sad, and simply heart wrenching, but there are still times of beauty as well. No, not just the hot guys either. Lol. The love she and Jagger have, regardless of trisls and tribulations, is sheer beauty. Not to mention her framily. I loved that word to explain her circle of friends and family. And framily is a huge part of this book. Just like any other friends and family, they are all human, with things they have hidden, even with the best intentions. Some little, some big and some huge, but when they all come to light in a short period of time...whew. But you won't get spoilers from me. That is difficult, as I really need to pour my heart out over these books, but my reviewing etquitte will not allow me to, no matter how much I would like to.

It should be pretty obvious, but this is not a standalone, so you have to read Guitar Face first. I imagine if you are reading reviews for it, you already have. Remember that big ol' cliffhsnger it ended with? Yeah, that is nothing compared to the cliffie in this one. I guess this is why I didn't get my hot little hands on this series sooner....don't know what I would do if I had to wait for this one to be resolved! We would have a complete, unabridged dictionary with all the new "words" I made up for the author while I waited. Fortunately for everyone, it is already sitting on my kindle waiting for me to open it up, so I am going to wrap up this review so I can crawl into it.

In total and complete honesty, this book does need some more editing. In most any other book I would have taken at least a star off for it, but I feel the emotions it was able to bring out in me justify leaving it at a full 5 stars.

This is for the over 18 crowd only for the erotic scenes and filthy language (which I love, on both counts, but understand there are readers out there who do have a problem with this sort of thing. There are few violent scenes as well which are a little bit graphic, and there is an appearance of drugs and addiction issues. If you read Guitar Face, you absolutely have to read this one. It is every bit as good, and maybe even a little bit better. Plenty of interesting twists you did not see coming, and just a whole lotta love (yes, that was intentional) and angst and more love - of all kinds....the kind you read romance novels for, naturally, but the love of lifetime friends and the love of family, definitely play a big part as well. I think that's enough to send me back to Georgia, and I am sure that review will be up in a day or two.

If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. I am a huge rock romance fan and those are the books I usually stick with so with that being said this series and this book in particular is one of the best of all of them.

I have quite a few rock romance books on my book shelf waiting to be read and I kept bypassing this series for the usual rock romance authors I read. Boy, was that a mistake! Not to take anything anyway from some of the others but I have never gone through all the emotions that are thrown at you in this book as I have with this book/series. Ms. Marshall writes so that you feel totally invested in these people.

There’s No Crying In Rock and Roll takes you to some pretty dark places and I feel as lost as Henley does in some of these situations. When your heart and your head don’t agree it can put you down some roads you probably wouldn’t have went to otherwise.

Besides the dark places you always have Kip!! I don’t know how many laugh out loud moments I had reading this book. You would find yourself very lucky if you had a friend like him. Then there is Koi, a brother that you could only dream of having. He is protective, loving, caring and you share the same interests in music. Memphis comes along in this book and I really like him a lot already. He becomes Henley’s savior because he knows everything she is going through because he has been there himself. And last but not least, Jagger. This is where it gets messy and you can actually feel Henley’s thoughts and emotions when it comes to Jagger.

My only regret is that I usually wait until all the books for a series are completed because I suck at waiting for the next to come out. It says a lot when you know you have that wait but the people in this series stays on your mind and it’s hard to let it go. I really hope Ms. Marshall will continue writing rock romance books because I would definitely put her as a #1 author to read. There is still so much that can be told about the other characters in this book and I can only hope she goes down this path.

Why why why

why do you do this to us????

talk about a cliffhanger.

I think I like this book better than the first one. I am so in love with these characters and the events they are trying to overcome. I can count on hours of no productivity when I start your books. I just can't put them down.

next year can't get here fast enough!!

Henley Hendrix thought she had been through all the bad life had in store for her and was finally on the right path. Just when things were going well in her career and love life, everything is ripped away and despite her best efforts, she can't seem to find her footing again. The harder she tries, the more she seems to loose until Henley finds herself going down a path that will lead her to a very dark place. Once on that path, will she be able to find her way back?

First off, let me say that this is not a standalone. If you have not read Guitar Face, you need to read that book before reading this one. This book...it is hard to write a review without giving away all the plot points so let me just say that this book (better than the first IMO) is emotional and heartbreaking from start to finish. It picks up right where book ones cliffhanger left off and you don't have to wait long to find out what is going on. It will rip your heart out of your chest, put it back, then rip it out again. Unlike book one which is told from Henley's POV, this book is told from multiple points of view, all the men in Henley's life, which makes it all the more heartbreaking. This one gripped my from the first page and did not let go.

There are secrets and lies, heartbreak, lots of drama, Kip's humor and plenty of angst. It will be painful to read at times, at one point I wanted to crawl into my Kindle and slap Henley and yell at her to stop being an idiot and the ending...OMG...if you thought book ones cliffhanger was bad, you have not seen anything yet.

My thoughts:

POV from multiple characters including Henley, Jagger and Kip
Quick hook or slow starter? 5 (I was hooked from start to finish)
Character development: 5
Level of Romance between characters: 4.5
Passion/Heat level: 4 (other than a little bit of sex toward the beginning, there is not much in this one and what there is, is not who you want it to be)
Angst/Heartbreak: 5 (Angsty and heartbreaking from start to finish)
Cliffhanger?: Huge!!! You are left wondering how these people can possible suffer anymore!

Overall, I loved it but couldn't give it a five because of that horrible cliffhanger. Literally cannot wait to see what happens in book three.

Peace, Love and Sasha Marshall does it again!

What can I say?!? Sasha Marshall once again drawls the reader into her rock-n-roll universe, however, with a deeper tone to the music so to speak.

Henley turns back to her guitar and gets the band back together to record new music. Although her professional life appears to be getting on the right track, personal issues spiral to a dangerous low causing the mere mortal reader like myself to worry about the destiny of our beloved Guitar Goddess.

The same bunch of crazies returns for book two and yes, more Kip antics! I learned what D.A.D.S stands for and for some reason when I think of Kip dressed incognito, I imagine Roger from American Dad! A couple of additions are Memphis, who is a surprise to Hen and Koi, and the adorable Cash. Cash is the love-puppy of Henley and Kip and is probably the luckiest and coolest bulldog in the history of fictional rocker romance book series.

As in the first book, Sasha Marshall will have you experiencing a wide spectrum of emotions. This time Kip will have you wetting yourself as in "I laughed so hard tears ran down my leg". You will also experience twist and turns along the way and some unexpected discoveries.

I personally would love for the song Henley writes for Red, "Whiskey and Smoke" to become a REAL song. Along with being an awesome storyteller, Sasha Marshall is also a gosh darn good lyricist.

I would highly, Highly, HIGHLY recommend this book series! I would rate it 5 stars plus infinity and beyond!

This book is way better than the first one. And I gave 5 stars to Guitar Face...
It's really, really good!
Now that I already know Henley and her family and friends I got myself thinking what was going to happen in their life.
It turns out that a lot happens! Really! The girl doesn't have a break in this book. It's full of cliffhangers!
The first one was predictable but it turned out to be more confusing and catching that I thought it would be. I felt anxious from the beginning to the end of it. And the end was not the end!
If you already read the first book and think that the lost of her best friend was the worst thing that happened in Henley's life you're so wrong!
It's amazing, heart breaking and truly sad. It's beautifully sad.

REVIEW
Henley just can not catch a break and yet again her world comes crashing down around her only this time will she be able to dig her way back to the top?

Wow is all I can say. This series is so good and the books just keep getting deeper.
Yes, there are some grammar issues but they do not take from the story.
I do recommend you start with book one as this is not a stand-alone.

I was gifted this book for my honest review

Henley discovers something about Jagger that breaks her. Completely shatters her heart and their relationship. Damn that Jagger! I was so mad at him for her. In the matter of moments her life changes and she begins to self medicate the pain away. Between losing Caleb and the drama with Jagger, Henley just can't face her life anymore. So she hibernates with her friends for a few days and then decides to club her pain away. She comes face to face with Jagger who asks to explain. This is where I fall a little more in love with Kip who gives him hell for what he has done to Henley and how it effects everyone. When Henley talks about how she has loved him since she was a child, my heart broke for her. She listens to his explanation and tells him that she needs time. Jagger hits his knees in tears begging her not to leave him. I have to admit that I didn't feel sorry for him.

Swooning over Kip moment number two came when he gives her a puppy to try and help her heal. I love that he then talks Henley into their game and helps her smile and forget things for awhile. Then reality comes back hard when Jagger's drama is back in her face again. Damn that Jagger! And then I love Kip even more when he faces down Jagger's drama. Seriously he's delicious even mad as hell. I wanted to totally kick ass for Henley in that moment - both Jagger and the drama. Even more so when they all go home for Christmas and he brings the drama with him.

The truth comes out and Henley is still lost and broken not sure if she can be put back together after all of this. She spends her time writing lyrics that say what she can't right now. Henley and the guys go back into the studio to record. After an incident with Jagger, she ends up in the hospital. When Kip crawls into bed with her my heart broke again for her. After that Henley changes. She crawls deeper and deeper into herself. Then she finds out more secrets that have been kept from her and feels so betrayed. Then something happens with her grandfather...
Poor Henley. Can anyone save her from herself?

I so loved this book. I laughed and cried right along with Henley and fell even more for Kip and wanted to kick Jagger's ass. The end...holy...I just can't even talk about it. I am dying for the next book in the series.

I heart Sasha! BIG!
She totally rocks!

I give There's No Crying in Rock-n-Roll 5 hearts!

Ok. Cliffhangers suck, but the story is 5 books along and I'm so engulfed in this story that I can't stop. Even though I'm mad, and frustrated with Henley, she's still an amazing character. I'm also still rooting for Jagley. :) READ THIS SERIES!!!

Oh Henley, Things have really hit the fan. It just seems like Henley cant catch a break. Jag has been hiding the fact that he maybe a dad from Henley even though it was a one night stand and it was before him and Henley hooked up. Claudia the baby mama, can't seem not to be in the middle of starting the drama. She wants to be in the middle of all things when Henley is going to be there. She even lets the media aware of doctors appointments, etc. He never told Henley and the boy she finds out in the worse possible way. She keeps finding out secrets that have been kept from her one after another. Henley is on a little getaway when she runs in to an old friend Noel. Her and Noel catch up and Noel introduces Henley to stuff that will help her numb the pain. From that moment things really takes its toll and Henley isn't herself anymore. There are many twist and turns in her, but to find out you must read it. I know you wont be disappointed.

WOW what an addictive read! Book 2 picks up right where book 1 ends and once again I read the whole book in one sitting because I just had to know what happens net. Book 2 did not disappoint and is a great read on its own but an awesome continuation of book 1. (This is not a stand a lone and book one must be read first). Once again I am met with that horrible cliff hanger at the end that takes your breath away while your yelling no at the last page because you want more.

I received advanced copy from United Indie Book Blog for my honest review. Love this series and enjoy the flow of this book. These characters take each other pain as of their own to give each other the strength to find the happiness and joy they had for life. Henley has been through a lot of pain but learning how to grief through it all.

Raw emotion.
This book sticks the reader in a washing machine of raw emotions with Henley, it sucks you in to be swirled and pulled one way and then be swamped by a wave from a completely unexpected direction.

It is a darker book than Guitar Face, and some of Henley's actions and choices start to seem just slightly off kilter which later evolves into more obvious self-destructive behaviour.
I read it pretty much in one go, and it is only when I reached the end I realised how many emotions are packed into this one book, and that it would take me a couple of days to process it all. And it's another cliff-hanger ending and I really want the next one.

There are a couple of copyediting errors, but nothing major. Reading Guitar Face first will provide a bigger impact of Henley's circumstances. This book is not for under 18s, and language and lifestyle may offend.

Well the sequel to Broken was certainly no dissapoinment. I was very reluctant to put it down I just couldn't stop. The story really sucks you in. The book follows more drama for Henley and Jagger. There were a few moments where if he had been a real person I would have loved to slap him!
I love that the book is told from multiple points of view so we get to see what Henley, Jagger and Kip are going through. Would have liked more from Kips POV as he is definitely my fav with his witty banter and his pure affection for Henley.
The book is full of emotion which you can't help but get drawn into and is very well written.
The book ends on a cliff hanger which at 1am this morning I was not prepared for!
Am looking forward to the next book to see what's in store for Hen and the gang

The ride continues!

Henley was left hanging on the edge of something awful that shook her up so bad at the end of the previous book, Broken. What was this thing the drive her to her knees? Well, not saying!

No spoilers here, not from this reader, but let me assure you, there is plenty more drama and angst that carries over from Broken into There's No Crying in Rock and Roll. What else would you expect from these volatile rockers and their crazy friends. Some of their antics, especially from Kip, that guy has the wackiest and delightfully ridiculous sense of humor. Having a best friend like him would sure keep you guessing..some great moments of undying friendship with him and Henley just when she needs him the most. I love this guy.

Henley and Jagger have some serious $h!t to work out, but really... can everything that was said and done in the name of love be accepted, forgotten or dealt with??? Hmmmm.....

I'm left on the edge of another BIG old cliff again, but thank goodness I can and will drop everything to download the next book right now and see what happens next. Sasha Marshall, you are an evil genius and have spun your suspenseful rock and roll web around me now!
