One of my favorite things about this book was the writing style. Amy's writing flowed really well, and the dialogue was never dull. She did a great job of describing scenarios and characters. I could clearly picture all of the characters in my head. The narrative in this book was funny and enjoyable. Sometimes, the narrative seemed a little receptive and unnecessary, but I still enjoyed it. The plot moved at a nice pace that kept me interested the entire time. I was also extremely happy that the romance was set at a very natural pace. At first, I felt like Jack's interest in Ally seemed too sudden and random. However, their romance and friendship grew at a very nice pace through the rest of the book.

Some of the plot lines in this book seemed a little cliche in my opinion. For example, Ally got a makeover in the book, and I felt like that was cliche and unnecessary. I was also expecting a more paranormal aspect to this book. The seeker aspect of this book was not explained as well as I was hoping. Also, the whole point of Ally's visions in this book kind of bored me? It bored me in the fact that I was expecting a paranormal twist. I thought it was a very sensitive and real topic that Ally saw in her visions, however, they were just not what I was expecting. I honestly felt like this book was more of a contemporary romance with the random plot of seekers being thrown in there. I still enjoyed this book, but I wish the seeker plot line would have been more prevalent and a little more exciting.

The main character, Ally was quite likable. She was a very kind person who truly cared about everyone. My only complaint with Ally was that she tended to act very immature, which made her annoying at times. I wanted to roll my eyes at some of the things she did and said in the book. The thing about Ally that annoyed me the most was that she cried all the time. I felt like her automatic reaction to everything was to cry. I just wanted to yell at her and tell her to stop crying!

Jack was a wonderful male character! He was sweet, understanding, and funny. I love bad boys, and Jack totally rocked the bad boy with a good heart. He made me swoon so many times in this book. Jack always knew the right thing to say! I definitely want my own Jack! There were some scenes between Jack and Ally that actually made my heart feel like it was melting. I really enjoyed their relationship throughout the entire book.

Overall, I did like this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book!

Seeker is a Young Adult Paranormal Romance but it is so much more than teenage romance. Ally Moran is intuitive just like her mother and grandmother but when she has a vision about her ex-friend and uber-popular cheerleader, her whole is turned upside down.

Enter the book boyfriend of the year, Jack Ruiz. He witnesses Ally having her first vision and mistakes it for Ally being ill. Being the gentleman he is, he insists on driving her home. Ally thinks he is hot and tries to dampen her feelings by telling herself that he is just being nice.

Sparks fly and before you can say teenage crush, they are a couple. Ally tries to hide her psychic abilities from Jack but the visions keep coming and she can’t control them. Jack has secrets of his own and the more he is around Ally, the harder it is to keep them from her.

I fell in love with Jack and he is exactly the kind of guy I crushed in high school. Sweet, funny with a dark past.

Ally and Jack must confide in each other if they are going to be a couple. I won’t give anything else away but let me tell you, Ally and Jack are adorable.

I love a good paranormal romance and this is one of the best I’ve read. Amy Reece weaves a gripping story (while being in the paranormal) that left me on the edge of my seat. Date rape, drugs, domestic abuse, teen pregnancy and self-discovery are all strong themes in this book but it wasn’t preachy.

I can’t wait to read what happens in book two!

Favorite Character: Hands down, Jack Ruiz. He’s a kind, quiet guy with a dark past. He shows Ally what it means to trust someone and to be trusted. He also is the perfect example of a book boyfriend.

The review was up on For The Love of Fictional Worlds as a part of the blog tour for the series hosted by Indie Sage PR on July 7th!

Ally is having dreams while waking up - only these aren't dreams. They seem to be visions about things that have already happened! This is now playing havoc in her life because while she understands that her family is a little different, she did not expect that "differentness" to be passed on to her!

But those visions bring her something good! They get her closer to Jack - Jack who has a painful and violent past - Jack who is trying to keep his nose clean, and whose plans do not include falling for an underage girl. But fall he does!

I had really high expectations from the book, to be very honest - like 5 stars expectations and it did valiantly try to reach to my expectations. The plot, the mystery and the climax were pretty much on the point but what took the joy out of my experience was Ally herself. She started off as a strong, independent teenager but while she still retained those qualities, she still became quite whiny. She cried at every turn (yes, I understand that the visions were horrible and no, I wouldn't have expected her to get used to it!) but I did expect her to grow a backbone once she knew why it was happening to her.

Jack on the other hand, was adorable and quite frankly Ally's rock! They fell for each other almost instantly (and that for me is just wrong at their age!). While they didn't talk about "being together forever" they did actually fell hard and fast!! But I still believe that this book could have used a chapter or two from Jake's POV!

The plotline and the writing though were point on! These were the reasons why I still held on, even if I sometimes felt like giving up because of Ally. The twists and the background were interestingly vague - which didn't irritate me, mostly cause I knew that I had the second book in hand!

"Seeker" the first book in the series blends the paranormal and romance into a mystery that begins in sixteen year old Ally Moran's English class when she has a waking dream about Veronica Albluth, a former childhood friend who's in dire trouble. Like the women in her family she's always had an enhanced intuition about things but this vision leaves her dizzy and heating up until fellow classmate Jack Ruiz helps her escape prying eyes so she can compose herself.

Jack Ruiz a loner with a bad boy image who's trying to make a fresh start hides a secret about his past and doesn't want to get involved with the redhead who captured his interest on the first day he sat behind her in class. Trying to keep his distant he never expects that their chemistry will ignite as they solve clues to a mystery that far surpasses their worst fears.

Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico this innovative and imaginative story heats up when Ally not only discovers that she could be powerful Seer with abilities that surpass her psychic visions, but that her insight into an abusive relationship in Veronica's life could spell danger for her. The plot moves quickly and smoothly with twists that keep you riveted from the first chapter to a gripping conclusion. The mystery in the story is absorbing not only as Ally and Jack unravel psychic clues that lead to Veronica's abuser and a drug ring at the school, but also the key to her power.

Told in a first person narrative, the intensity and suspense of this story is often broken by humor, Ally's witticisms and her smoldering attraction to Jack. Because of a criminal past and his subsequent probation, eighteen year old Jack has tried to keep his head down, working hard to undo the damage. But as events unfold the emotional tension between Ally and Jack grows until their friendship threatens to implode if they don't explore the depth of their feelings for each other.

Amy Reece has created characters that grow on you with the complexity of their personalities. Ally Moran is a feisty but awkward teen who likes to stay out of the limelight at school. As she delves into the mystery of her power and Veronica's troubles she begins to show a strength-of-spirit and confidence she didn't think she had; although she unrealistically tends to cry about everything and anything. Jack Ruiz is highly intelligent and hardworking, wanting to bury his past mistakes. Crazy about Ally he's convinced he's not good enough for her and wants to keep her at arm's length until forced to admit his feelings. Veronica Albluth is the vapid, selfish and snotty cheerleader who hides her vulnerability and troubles. In contrast Tara, Ally's likeable best friend is loyal, bluntly honest but a patient listener. All these characters and many more add to the energy and drama of a tale that can only get better with each new storyline.

I wanted to read "Seeker" when I saw it on Goodreads/First Reads and was not disappointed although I thought the background to the ancient power Ally inherited as well as her family's situation a bit sparse. But I liked it and will read the next books in the series.

I thought this was a very good book. I enjoyed it a lot. I found it funny and heartbreaking. I like the writing style that Amy used. I loved the relationship between Jack and Ally. They have perfect chemistry. I thought that Grams and Cassie were hilarious and Tara was awesome too. I thought Amy was able to bring for a great fantasy story with some brutal aspects of abuse. I felt so bad for Veronica because . Thank you for the opportunity, Amy Reece. I will be looking forward to reading more of this series.

Ally and Jack were both likable characters, and they made a pretty good couple. There was a few times where Ally annoyed me slightly though.

The pacing at the start of this was quite slow, so it took a while to get into the story. The pace did pick up slighty after a while, but there was still a few parts which dragged a little bit for me.

Overall, An okay read.

This was an enjoyable and interesting story, told in an engaging style. Ally's comments to herself were frequently very funny, and the teen language a fresh departure. I'd prefer more focus on Ally's struggles to accept and understand her gift of being a Seeker, and less details about teenage romance and raging hormones. Both the main characters, Ally and Jack, were likable and captivating. Sometimes Jack seemed too good to be true, but Ally's emotional fluctuations appeared quite normal for teens. The plot moved slowly at first but picked up; some scenes were rather brutal but many showed lovely affections and quirky family characters. The full implications of Ally's gift was left to unfold in subsequent stories.

**I received a digital copy of this book from the author via Goodreads in exchange for an honest review.**

I liked this book. Though I hate comparisons but the plot line was similar to that of Fire in Frost by Alicia Rades (you can read my review here). But I liked this a lot better than that, the characters were developed and handled maturely, the plot was neatly executed by keeping things interesting and I liked the pace which is even throughout the book.
The story is about a girl named Ally. She knew her family was different from the others but she didn't want those different qualities to pass on her. She discovers that she has the ability to have visions about the past. Later she discovers she can glimpse the future as well. From her visions she understands that one of her former friend, Victoria is pregnant and she is being abused time and again. At first she is reluctant to do anything about that but finally she understands that she needs to help Victoria whether she is her friend or not because the situation is getting worse.

The plot was good, neatly executed but a bit predictable. Though I wanted a lot more explanation about her family history, a little is given. But I guess we will learn more about her powers and stuff in the next book because she is apparently one was the strongest Seer anyone has ever seen and when this is discovered by one of her grandmother’s friend, they decide to take her to the high council. Unfortunately the book ends here but I'm very exited to know what happens next. But overall, things were kept intersting enough and I was hooked from the beginning. Though I would have liked if there was bit more focus on finding the abuser and something to help the victim rather than the romantic aspect, though I'm not saying it's a bad thing, it would have been nice and solid if that was the minor factor.

The characters were pretty good though sometimes Ally was whiny and irritating. But it is understandable since she didn't want to accept the fact that she was different, she just wanted a normal life and she was not given a choice. I really would have liked if she made a greater effort to help Victoria. This is the only thing that I disliked about this book. Whereas Crystal in Fire in Frost was completely devoted to help the victim at all cost, I don't think Ally tried that much here. Other than that she a was good character. I liked Jack very much. He was sweet and caring and harboured a crush on Ally though they never spoke until until she had a vision in class and nearly fainted. She later shared her secret with him and without running away or freaking out as Ally thought he would do, he actually believed and supported her. He had a past that he wanted to forget and that's why he tried to stay away from Ally but that didn't happen. They feel hard and fast for each other. I definitely liked the romance between these two.

I liked Ally's best friend, she knew all her secrets and was really supportive of her. And I really felt bad for Victoria, she didn't have a way out and was constantly abused. Things got a bit violent towards the end before they finally caught the guy responsible for everything. I really liked how bravely Ally acted at that time, without thinking about the consequences, she went straight inside the den to save Victoria.

The writing was smooth and easy to read. I definitely liked it. The pace was fast and I never felt bored for a second.. Once I got into the story it was hard to keep it down and it didn't take much time for me to finish it.

Overall, the plot was good, the characters had their fair share of faults but they were great nonetheless. The romance was good though I would have loved if the major focus was on finding the guy responsible for abusing Victoria. Other than this factor, I really enjoyed reading this book, it was really good and I specially loved how everything was executed.

Recommend it?

Yes.

What a great, entertaining read! This is a wonderful start to what promises to be an intriguing series. I found myself pleasantly surprised; I'm not normally a huge fan of first person writing, and I often get distracted (and sometimes even annoyed) when the character "talks to the audience". Boy...NOT in this case. The first person writing didn't leave me feeling "deprived" of the motivation of other characters, and the tone was JUST RIGHT. I actually enjoyed when our main character, Ally, spoke directly to us; I often even laughed out loud. It acted as a reminder of the character's young age. Sometimes teenaged characters can come off acting and sounding like seasoned adults...who just happen to still be in high school. I got the total sense that Ally was very much a blossoming teen - from the rash decisions to the boy-crazed distraction. As a mother of teens, I appreciated the fact that Ms. Reece allowed her characters to make good, responsible choices, while "keeping it real". Teens are no angels, whether they make wise choices or not, so it was refreshing to see that a relatively "clean read" could include the conflict within the characters that allowed it to be such, along with the reality that characters around them were not always making such wise choices. I get annoyed when teen characters are portrayed as virginal saints who's lips have never uttered a 4-letter word and responsible intellectuals who have never had an R-rated thought sully their pretty little minds. Pul-eeze! Anyway, not to rush off, but I immediately downloaded the next in the series, so...please excuse me while I go ignore my dishes and laundry so I can read on!

I received this book in an exchange for an honest review

Ally was a very lovable character, she is a seer or one who is told becoming a powerful seer as she can do many things that is unheard of in the seer community whereas Gramps and her Mother have very mild abilities such as Gramps if she touches something that belongs to someone else she will normally 'sense' something, I didn't really understand her ability whereas Ally's mother can find things that are lost. Ally has very vivid visions but can also see into the future which is unheard of. Soon after she gets these visions, all the drama begins. She needs to help Veronica (who used to be her friend) as she sees her getting physically abused, now the mystery is who?

Jack was a character I liked but I found him confusing with all his mixed signals. You could tell there was electrifying chemistry between him and Ally so why was he holding back? Only through halfway in to the book do you get why. Also, I find it ironic that he was watching Ally throughout the whole year and she never noticed, all because of one incident to things start to take place.

I loved Grams in this story, she was sooo hillarious, made the story worthwhile :)

Overall, not a bad book at all. The ending made me want to read what happens next, I think Grams friend has a ulterior motive. Hm...

I Received this as a R2R.

The seeker series by Amy Reece, I actually quite enjoyed it, this is a YA series that concentrates on a 16year old with a paranormal background and is coming of age that her gift starts to seep through and seems to get better by the day, I enjoy anything about seers, and seeing into the past/future. On top of the twists and turns and emotional content, we have a lovely slice of romance just to put the cherry on the top.

Ally & Jack are a really cute couple, i enjoyed their romance and am going straight onto book 2...

I can honestly say it's worth a read and you'll find yourself hooked from the first chapter and left grabbing the next book immediately after finishing the first. :)

Seek No Further! This Series is Seeringly Great! . . .

This book is a great addition to the Young Adult genre filled with humorous characters, great dialogue, and impactful messages weaved into the plot. The author kept the characters age appropriate but mature, a balance which is hard to do when writing an Y.A. books that can be for more than just teens. I definitely enjoyed the plot flow and concepts in this book, which have definitely hooked me for the next installment.

When Ally Moran is suddenly immersed in a too realistic vision concerning a cheerleader in the middle of her English class. Ally is rescued by Jack Ruiz the quiet bad boy transfer student, who offers to take Ally to the nurse. Ally has known her family comes from a line of gifted females coming from Ireland, but none have ever had such vivid physically tolling visions. Ally now has the issue of trying to decipher these visions she is getting concerning her classmate who appears to be in dire need of help before it's too late. However, after her vision episode in class, Jack is now paying attention to Ally. She's excited that they could become more than friends even with her weird "powers." There's just the whole issue of Jack's delinquent past that may keep Ally and him from being a couple.

Overall, Loved the book and want to read more. The banter and relationships were great, the story is a great paranormal Y.A. book. Ally is strong when it counts and a smart alec teen, who finds she will be a powerful Seer. That's a lot for a 16 yr old to take, so when she has to decipher the visions that are taxing on her, while dealing with normal teen stuff like, does Jack like me or not? It makes for a good read. The author made Ally come to life by being very vocal in her perspective on things letting readers know this and that, especially describing situations and places in the story which were set in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As for Jack what can I say about him other than basically he's perfect, he was bad now he's good and the greatest gentlemen. *Sigh, I want one. So one of my favorite parts had to be when Ally, a vegetarian, tells Jack she won't kiss him because he's eating menudo, to which he says that's racial discrimination. It was a quirky little moment but showed just how cute they are together. Now on the flip side I loved how the author brought up several situations most don't talk about such as rape and the need to share your emotional experiences. I don't want to spoil too much, but Amy Reece resolves her plot and has Ally sleuth out things in the high school that bring up issues teens can and do face, regrettably. Having the issues mentioned are rough but can be helpful since teens need to be aware of in case it occurs to someone they know or themselves. Now, as a whole if you are looking for a story about a girl trying to stay low key in high school but finds herself with the power to see visions of someones life and hasn't a clue how to help her, all the while trying to figure out her relationship with the new mysterious hot guy who is suddenly speaking to her. Than this book is sure to appease that search.

I was hooked from the moment I picked it up and kept me interested from the first page to the last! The characters are very well written and I was quickly drawn into Ally's world and wanted to know as badly as she did on what the was going on, not only with the mystery around her "friend", but also with her emerging psychic abilities. The relationship between Ally and Jack is a sweet, intense, and realistic trip down the memory’’ lane of first love. It left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Crystal's 5 Star Review
16 year old Ally Moran is different. She’s not like the other students she goes to high school with. She has pretty much kept a close circle of friends and doesn’t get involved with student activities. Then one day during class, something strange happens, she has a vision. You see, Ally’s family is different. Both her mom and grandmother have psychic abilities. When she tells them about the visions she is having about someone she used to be friends with, they tell her about her gift and the fact she just might be someone of importance.
Jack Ruiz is just trying to get through high school. He’s been in trouble in the past and is now working to overcome it. He keeps to himself, but has had his eye on Ally since the first moment he saw her. He just didn’t let her know. When he helps her get to the nurse after a vision (he doesn’t know) they become friends. They both want more, but when he finds out her age, he steps back. Nothing though can stop first love. When Jack finds out Ally’s secret, he doesn’t care. Just like Ally doesn’t care about Jack’s past even though he thinks she does.
When the visions become disturbing, Ally realizes she needs to do something. She attempts to try to be friends with the girl again, but the girl is wary. Jack and Ally work hard to figure out what the visions mean before something happens.
I absolutely love this book!! Maybe I am biased because I grew up in New Mexico and lived and worked in Albuquerque. I recognized the names of restaurants and bored my boyfriend talking about the area. Ms. Reece blends both real and fictional places, including schools into the story, weaving one great tale. I definitely recommend reading this series. I fell in love with both the characters and the storyline.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review so here goes.

The seeker was about a teenage girl Ally who was dealing with being at high school and to top it all off she's started getting visions, now for any other teenager this would probably be almost mental but for Ally who has known she's is prone to some clairvoyantcy talents due to her Grams and her mum having similar seer talents.

This started off, fast paced and in the midst of action, that was quite gripping and had me wanting to read more but I felt the more I read the more I struggled finding something to love within it, it felt kind of flat like something was missing, that could have something to do with the way it was told from Ally's point of view.

I found Ally endearing at the beginning and it was lovely that she cared so much for people around her but after a while her teenage view really got on my nerves, I loved that the author was true to character and kept her true to her age with her juvenile thoughts and boy obsession but it got tiresome quite quickly for me.

Jack was a beautiful sweet bad boy, who often came to Ally's rescue, he was soo indecisive at the beginning not sure whether being her friend was a good or bad thing and how hesitant he was around her but when he eventually opened up you could really see why and how he was quite protective over Ally and really respectful was swoon worthy I'd have loved my own Jack in high school.

Megan, wow I loved how the author introduced us to her little character and immediately made us fall in love with her, every time I read about her little ways I aww'ed and laughed a little and felt like she was my little sister which made me really think the author had actually based this on a character she knew very well.

Gram's was definitely a character of this book, at times she was stoic and respectful and like a little grandma you'd expect even down to the impromptu tea parties, then at other times she was fashionable raising her grand daughters wardrobe and preparing for a hot date.

Overall i liked this book, the characters were good, funny at times, frustrating for sure but good. I would have loved for the story to be a little more about being a seer and a little less on boy obsessions but I guess that's just me. It's good read, but it's something I wouldn't go back to read again. Oh the cliffhanger ending left a lot of room for this to become more.

4.5 - 5 stars!
When I first started reading this book, I had no idea what to expect. Heck, I didn’t even know what the book was about or how many books were in the series. But boy, am I glad I signed up for this tour! I truly enjoyed SEEKER! The author’s writing style made me not only fall in love with the story line, but the characters as well. I had no problem whatsoever visualizing the scenes throughout the book. Everything – the characters, their problems, their lives, the dialogue – were truly brought to life and very realistic! I was right there with them.

In Seeker, we got introduced to Ally. She was a normal 17-year old in high school…or so she thought. You see, one day during class, she just about passed out while having a vision. She could not explain what she had seen in her head, but she knew she was no longer a “normal” teenager. Little did she know, her life was about to change in ways she could not even begin to imagine.

Through her new journey, (and quite the journey it was!) Ally was able to share her experiences, frustration, and fears with Jack, a very hot and protective friend. You see, Jack was older than Ally and had a past he was trying to stay away from, so while it was clear as day that they both were very much attracted to each other, Jack kept fighting his feelings.

Jack. OH, JACK. I think I fell in love with him from the very first moment he got introduced. The way he treated Ally was simply swoon-worthy! I was rooting for them to get together the whole, entire time, so imagine my excitement when it finally happened!!! I may have squealed and done a few happy dances, LOL!!

Seeker had a perfect combination of drama and suspense with a touch of romance. Ally’s journey was anything but boring, let me tell you! Overall, I truly did enjoy this book, but towards the end, I felt like it dragged a little. Other than that, I’ve got no complains about this first installment in The Seeker Series. If you’re a fan of YA Paranormal Romance, this is a series you need to start!! 4.5 – 5 stars!

Seeker is book #1 in The Seeker Series and the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much.

Seeker is a YA paranormal story and it’s been a while since I read one of those, I tend to like my books a tad more ‘adult’ but I do really enjoy the paranormal genre so I figured I would give it a go.

Ally is very young, she’s sweet but very immature and I loved that her character is actually written like a naïve 16 year old girl.

The blurb for this book makes it sound like the romance is the biggest part of the plot, it’s not at all!!! This book has a cool psychic plot that overtakes the romance and makes Seeker a unique spin on the paranormal norm.

Ally is just a kid yet this book deals with some very adult themes, although this book is YA there are some subjects that are simply not appropriate for younger readers.

I loved the whole psychic thing; it’s a cool subject that I haven’t read that many books about. There was a lot more action in this story than I was expecting, the author managed to build tension and at times I was even close to the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen.

Jack and Ally are an incredibly sweet couple, they are sickeningly in love and even though it was completely unrealistic (she’s 16 he’s 18!!) I still went arrrrrrr like every other reader of this book.

Where Ally seemed a very young 16, Jack is a very mature 18. At times he sounded like he was in his thirties but he was still a real gentleman and I’d be happy if my daughter brought him home (well apart from his delinquent stage lol)

There something dodgy going on with Cassie I’m not entirely sure what yet but I get the impression that things are going to get really interesting in the next book.

This book is an equal mix of sickeningly sweet puppy love and cool xmen type visions and races to save people.

I liked it and I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, Seeker gets 3.5 Stars from me.

So first thing I wanna say is that while this is a YA book there were a few intense themes mentioned throughout the book.

Ally is different she know it and accepts it and has always tried to stay under the radar at school and not get noticed, until her gifts magnify and she starts having visions, right in the middle of class. The plus side is almost no one noticted and the only person that did is the swoon worthy new guy who sits right behind her.

Jack haden't said much of anything to her until then, but once he comes to her rescue the two can't seem to stay away from each other. As they become friends they work to understand her visions and how she can help the person in them all while trying not to drool while thinking about kissing Jack.

Ally is a high school girl with normal boy problems, but is also trying to understand her newfound gifts and it's made her quite mature in some ways while you can still see her a a kid learning about growing up.

Jack is a total sweetie who is easy to fall in love with.

The two have both normal and not so normal problems and I loved seeing the balance between them. I also enjoyed all the supporting characters and how there was great depth to them as well so you really feel like you're right there in the stary being a part of it.

The paranormal aspect is interesting and was explained perfectly so you never had any moments where you were scratching your head wondering what the heck was going on. Everything was well rounded and this was one I thouroughly enjoyed and am excited to continue reading more of.

Seeker has very realistic characterization and description - I found it easy to picture the characters, and most of the time, their reactions to the events unfolding were natural. The romantic scenes were written well, and I appreciated that Ally was all in - she knew this guy for a month and she just fell head over heels for him. First loves are like that. :)

Ally is funny and likeable. She's flawed and can be annoying at times, but I prefer that anyway, what teenager is perfect? I love that she's neurotic and that she seems to grow by the end of the book, realizing that a social class doesn't necessarily define the person.

Jack is wonderful, which is exactly what I want to read...realism for teenage boys? No thank you, not when they're the love interest. Give me the sweet, totally caring and beyond considerate dude any day.

I enjoyed the narrative - I laughed out loud a couple of times reading it, but at times I wished there was less. The narrative also let off a bit of the Juno effect - a teenager who sounds like a thirty-something with more experience and wisdom than it's possible to have at that age. I also noticed some repetition with the narrative and dialogue, which slowed down the pacing some.

Overall, I recommend picking up Seeker, it was a fun read. I felt engaged in the story and cared about the characters. I'll definitely purchase book two, when it comes out.

Ally Moran has always just known about things—things she shouldn’t really be able to know…

Suddenly when she starts having vivid visions about a former friend who is in desperate trouble, the adults in her life think she might hold the key to an ancient mystery.

Jack Ruiz has a troubled past, but is trying to make a fresh start at a new high school…

He just wants to keep his head down and graduate, hopefully before he turns 20. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a feisty redhead and her psychic visions.

While Jack valiantly attempts to keep Ally at arm’s length, she is equally determined to be a part of his life. Who will win this battle of wills?

More importantly…

Can this unlikely couple work together to find answers to Ally’s visions before someone gets killed?
I was hooked from the moment I picked it up and kept me interested from the first page to the last! The characters are very well written and I was quickly drawn into Ally's world and wanted to know as badly as she did on what the was going on, not only with the mystery around her "friend", but also with her emerging psychic abilities. The relationship between Ally and Jack is a sweet, intense, and realistic trip down the memory lane of first love. It left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Seeker hooked me and kept me interested from the first page to the last! The characters are very well written and I was quickly drawn into Ally's world and wanted as badly as she to know what the heck was going on, not only with the mystery around her "friend", but also with her emerging psychic abilities. The blossoming relationship between Ally and Jack is a sweet, intense, and realistic trip down the memory lane of first love. Seeker is written in first person, through Ally's lens, and through this point of view Reece leads the reader deftly through the story. I often found myself laughing out loud, I cried a little, and I was on the edge of my seat when the mystery reached it's climax. One of my favorite things about Seeker is the way Reece portrays the teenagers. I believe teens are much more intelligent and contemplative than we give them credit for these days. Teens are capable of big emotions, big egos, and big mistakes, true. But they are also capable of deep thoughts, wide imaginings, and a drive to make this world a better place. Reece expertly gives Ally an authentic voice and a wide range of emotion and action. This is an amazing book in every way and I have already pre-ordered book 2!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review: this did not influence my review!

(Warning: Dark and complex content) labeled a YA book, I would recommend it to 17+ due to the violent nature of a few parts of the book!

As a 40 something adult I was so pleased with this book!
The main characters are so charming and vivid that you can totally relate to them!
The book is writing in first person from Ally's point of view and she is such an adorable character! I think young ladies will want to become her BFF! The manner of speech is very modern and Ally is funny, witty and smart!
Jack, is an older boy with a troubling past but don't let his past fool you ... this guy is the kind of guy you'd want your daughter to bring home!!!

While reading the book, I was swept back to high school, first loves, first kisses, and more ... and I was surprised I found I could relate!

a Highly entertaining book ... definitely recommended

3.5

I received a copy from the author, in exchange for an honest review.

It's not a masterpiece and if I have to say the truth it doesn't happen so much. he main character, Ally, gots distracted by her crush (and I totally approve of it! I would have been distracted myself if I have a boy like Jack around!) every few pages and when she's not distracted by Jack she is busy whining about something. I really liked Ally (and I totally fall in love with Jack, because he seems a bad boys but doesn't have the attitude of a primate and he's really attentive and sweet) but sometimes she whiny a little bit too much.
But I really like the reading and I enjoyed myself.

Wow! This was a great read. A seemingly typical teen named Ally has some very unusual visions and suddenly she learns that she may hold the key to solving an important mystery. And then there's Jack, who is determined to stay away from her because the last thing he needs in his life is more trouble. But he's so cute and I really enjoyed his character. And I really enjoyed them together. This book had a little bit of everything - fantasy, a little romance, adventure, some mystery...I felt like it could be enjoyable for adults or teens. I'm pumped to read the rest in the series. The writing is great, the story sucks you in, and the characters are the kind you want to stick with you and read more about. Great job to the author! I really enjoyed it!

I received this book to read and review, but this does not affect my review.

First, I'd like to thank the author for letting me read it. It had a good storyline but the content was okay. Those who love instant love will enjoy this, but it's just not my cup of tea. Ally struggles with visions she starts having about a girl in her class. The sweet Jack joins Ally on her quest to help Veronica, who has dark secrets she wants to remain hidden. The idea of Ally having this visions that could help someone is fascinating. I just wish there was less mushy love scenes and more focus on the task. Overall, I would recommend this book.

★★★★
This is a coming of age romance.
Ally is sixteen years old. A shy quiet girl. One day in class she gets a disturbing vision of one of the other girls in class. It causes her to feel very ill.
Jack ,the bad boy who is new to the school helps her sort out what is happening to her.
A sweet innocent love story. With Both our hero and heroine working through intense personal problems. Ally tries desperately to save a girl who is in trouble without being able to tell the girl what she knows.

I loved Ally, the psychic main character of this charming book. She is feisty and relatable, and her world is at once ordinary and unique. Her wry outlook, strong family and friendships, and her good heart make the reader root for her as she deals with her powerful and scary powers, which she uses for good.

I really enjoyed this book.

This was different from most ya books I have read lately. There was some dark realism mixed with the paranormal. Because of the mature themes, I wouldn't recommend this book for younger teens, but the issues weren't dealt with in an inappropriate manner. I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

Fantastic story that captured my attention. Ally and Jack are real and the plot pulls me in. I bought this series for my great niece, knowing that I would read it first. Buy the whole series and you will glad you did!
