A Turn of Tides is book thirteen in the series A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest. This book really lives up to it’s name. There is again non-stop action from start to finish but in some instances, there is a turning of the tides.



I think Rose is going through some major transformations in this book. She is sick to death of being the victim, being the weak human. So she decides she will fight for what she wants, to be with Caleb, and get back to the Shade. But first she has to escape the realm of the Ogres.



Annora has tricked Caleb into thinking Rose is dead. Now all she has to do is get Caleb to fall in love with her again.

We have a new creature introduced in this book, dragon shape shifters. The dragons eat ogres. I suspect we haven’t seen the last of them. We might add them to the long list of pending danger to the island of the Shade.



Mona has fled to The Sanctuary believing that Kiev has cheated on her. Of course, Kiev will go to bring her back. Even though this mission has some terrible consequences, finally the secrets of some of the horrible things the witches of the Sanctuary are doing are revealed.

Ben has fled the island believing he is a danger. He needs time to figure out how to be a vampire. Even though I understand why he did this, I’m not too sure he made the right decision. I suspect the vampires he is getting mixed up with are further trouble.

And Micah is still out there. Will he be able to find his way back to the Shade?

The black witches are still conspiring to attack the Shade. Their evilness seems to have no limits.

So, as you can see, chaos continues. Finally some of our beloved characters are reunited back on the Shade but some are still out there in danger. And the vision that Vivienne had towards the end was horrifying. There is still so much danger waiting for all our favorite residents of the Shade. Book fourteen, A Dawn of Strength, is due out in just a couple of days. I can’t wait to see what is in store for them next.

Vampires, werewolves, ogres, witches, and shape shifting dragons!! I think this was one of Bella Forrest's books yet. I cannot get enough. These books are like crack and my greedy fingers are happily turning page after page and I cannot stop.

The saga continues! Thirteen books in and I can’t believe how strong this series is going! This book was packed with action and adventure as Rose tries to find her way back to Caleb, Ben tries to deal with his new nature and Kiev tries to track down Mona. I love it how the author expanded the world even more and now in addition to the vampires, witches, ogres, werewolves and assorted other paranormal beings we now have dragon shifters in the mix! It’s cool how she can blend them all together and continue to surprise us. We got to see more from Ben’s POV than we have in previous books and I hope that we get to see more of him in the next book because I am very interested to see how he’s going to continue to deal with being a vampire and the special quirks he’s discovering he has. I was very happy with where things left off for Rose and Caleb and despite my past feelings towards Mona I was actually rooting for her and Kiev in this book. All in all this was another great installment in The Shade series and I’ve already pre-ordered the next one! Keep them coming!

Finally, Annora is no more. She was so annoying. Yes it's sad, but she blew it. I'm sad about what Ben is going through. He finally changes into a vampire, but can't ingest animal blood. You know, the author is just dragging out this story. She probably could've finished it in 6 books. On to book 14...

Wow

With Caleb thinking that Rose is dead, a part of him died as well. Meanwhile, Annora doing everything possible to win back his love, but he's not interested.

Rose is now a hostage of the Ogres. They are going to fatten her up and then eat her. With Rose befriending her maid, a female Ogre named Bella, they both decide to escape. But then the dragons attack the Ogres' castle and Rose and Bella jump on one and leave the realm.

Charis, the dragon, takes her to Caleb first. Annora tried to kill Rose again only to be eaten by the dragon. Now with Caleb, Rose, and Bella on the star's back, they head to The Shade.

Ben has joined some rogue vampires so he can stop killings humans for their blood. He hates being a vampire.

When a ghoul is set free on the island by the witches who wanted Mona back home with them, he causes chaos in everyone on the island. After Mona sees her worst nightmare come true, she leaves The Shade unprotected.

Captivating......

So on this book Roses shinanigans, well get her i trouble again. This tine she’s bitten off more then she can chew. So many enemies, yet so many allies. Twists and turns in very corner.

Some things just keep getting better, others more complex and others well, just straight out strange lol

Rose, Celeb, Anorra, doing there thing. Bella, Charis new character and not at all what you’d expect.

Love this series

I absolutely love this series. I can't get enough of the characters and a dire each and every one of them. The way Forrest has to develop each with their own faults, passions, and redemption is thrilling and addicting. This has to be one of the best series I have ever read and I read A LOT! I would even say this is better than twilight with more in-depth character descriptions, backgrounds, and development. Don't miss out :)

The series continues and introduces some new characters. You get a little previous history on a few of the characters. I still really like these books. Annora is out of the picture so she's one less character that has to be worried about which was great since she caused a lot of problems.

Rose and Caleb are stuck on an island with Annora. Whom is trying to kill Rose so she can have Caleb for herself as the first attempt fails she tries another. Will it work need to read. Ben is a vampire who can only stomach human blood so he leaves the shade. On his venture he runs into a few rogue vampires that tells him he has to half turn someone before they take them in. Great read.
