The only thing that stays the same is change. In this third book of the bestselling Rain Falls series, small town life is fraught with a set of surprises. India and Tegan wrestle with sudden changes that test their bond, while all around them, circumstances shift and switch for the Bell, Lowry, and Fry clans. Amid some wildly comic moments and the witty repartee Baeli is known for, Rain Falls welcomes the return of one of its favorite citizens, family secrets are revealed, mysterious events are explained, and for some, karmic payback is at hand. No one is immune to the ways in which starting over and finding a place to belong, will intersect.
"To me, failing to learn to use the tools one’s craft shows laziness and disrespect for the reader. There are, however, no issues of that sort where Baeli’s writing is concerned. It’s rare to these days to find a writer whose style is technically so nearly perfect, but who’s also a damned good storyteller. I doubt if she is even capable of writing poorly." ~W. Spice
Even after 36 novels, I always try to write the sort of book I would want to read. My favorite thing to do is take a common trope and turn it on its ear. Where you expect a zig, I give you a zag. In my pages, you will find strong female characters, ethical dilemmas, and realistic storylines often filled with adventure and intense pacing, tempered by witty dialog, and happy endings. All are hallmarks of my work.
As a Bestselling Genre-Hopping Indie Author, I’ve enjoyed a sales position in the top 5% of lesbian writers, but I write crossover and mainstream fiction and have authored 26 nonfiction books, as well. All 36 of my FemFic novels have been bestsellers in the genres of domestic suspense, domestic thriller, women's adventure, romantic suspense, apocalyptic, speculative, lesfic, lesbian romance, and science fiction. I’m also a mixed-media artist (mostly clay and abstract painting) and former performing singer-songwriter with over 200 songs.
My wife, Melissa Walker-Baeli, is a budding author in her own right, and we have several co-writing projects coming soon. We live with two dogs, (Noodle and Whatnot) and two cats, (Poppet and Chicklet) on ten acres in the gorgeous Northwoods of Michigan.
This one was a bit different than the others as every character seemed to have a voice. As in it wasnt just told from India or Teagan's perspective. As much as I like to know what everyone has going on, it just felt different from how the series first two book were and there was way more going on. I will say i love how India was almost always present or witness to some type of sexual act...her reactions were great. I also wish the issue between Tegan and Indi was drawn out a bit more and focused on a bit more. But regardless, a good addition to the series. I actually do hope it continues.
hmms. This book was one person away from filling all of my LGBT tag. We have lesbian sex, gay sex, and bisexual sex pouring out of the book. Just no, as far as the reader knows, transgender sex. We even have sex between a man in a coma and a woman roughly the age of that man's mother.
I liked the first two books in this series. This one here feels like a let down, sadly. I liked following Tegan and India's story. This book here was more the story of Lincoln Fry, Kennedy Bell, Carla Bell, etc. etc. Everyone else, basically. The series moved from following the POV of Tegan and India to mostly following a bunch of other people. Including Napoleon Fry.
I did not wish to be in Leon Fry's head. Nor, for that matter, Lincoln's. Or anyone elses. Except for Tegan and India. I guess that is just what happens. Need something to write about, eh? mmphs.
I think my favorite character in the series had like 2% of the total work. Ok, maybe 20%. But still. I missed Tegan, I did. Ah well. I guess I should have paid closer attention to the fact that this series is called "Rain Falls" not "Tegan & India".
An enjoyable continuation of the Rain Falls series. It has everything you typically expect from a Rain Falls book, quirky community, funny events and interactions and some serious issues. There must be something in the air though, since everyone's hormones seem to be in high gear. There is also a lot of revelations in this book. Some I saw coming and some I was surprised by. Tegan and India are as adorable as usual but I feel like they didn't get as much book time as past books, which is okay since there are a lot of minor characters to keep track of and some new ones. Look forward to more.
The wait for this book seemed to last forever.... but it was SOOOOOO worth it. It was unputdownable (yes, I know that's not a real word). I read it in one sitting and am now bereft, again.
Ms Baeli is a skilled author and it is refreshing to read a self-published book that is not only entertaining but well written. I suffer through so many badly written books because I enjoy the story (especially in Lesbian fiction). Many authors fly fast and loose with continuity when writing series' but that is not the case with Ms Baeli. This third installment in the Rain Falls series is as true to the characters as and the details the first one. And just as entertaining.
I didn't think i would enjoy another series as much as the AKA series but I have to say that I actually love the Rain Falls series more. This came as a surprise to me because my preferred genre has always been murder mysteries/crime stories. There is just something about the people and the place in the Rain Falls books that resonates with me. Ms Baeli has a way of transporting you there and making you feel like you've actually been on a journey with these people. So now that I've finished the book, I'm back home again, missing my friends already.....
The book was good, everyone’s story was good, book 1 and 2 I felt attached to Tegan and India but book 3 didn’t focus on their relationship anymore, it hardly existed at all and that sucked!! I don’t know if there is a book 4 or if it will be but the way this ended it makes me think there is a possibility.
I didn't enjoy this one, I'm not a fan of reading about so many characters, I engaged into this series because India and Tegan`s story appealed to me. This was almost about everyone else but them.
There was a plethora of perspectives in this novel but the smooth flow was maintained. Be that as it may, it’d still be a delight to read them in their own individual depth. But, still an enjoyable read nonetheless!
This book wrapped up the series, but i felt the first two books of the series had better endings and the story progressed more naturally. Still a good read
I have enjoyed this series, the interactions between India and Tegan, the way the characters have developed, even the supporting cast of minor characters are great and the story is very well written.
However, I think this book is a bit too ‘over-the-top’, it’s too much like a daytime TV soap opera when the ratings have dropped and the script writers are introducing crisis after crisis in an attempt to stop the rot.
Still, even with the soap-opera script, this was an enjoyable read.
This series is one of my favorites. They make me laugh and the things that happen are crazy but still relatable. I can't put the book down once I start it. The writing is fabulous, the author unbelievably talented. Top marks across the board for all 3 books so far in the series. READ THESE BOOKS! :)
The returning person was easy to guess. The explanation why better than expected. The fate of the villain left me shaking my head in disbelief. In the end it is unclear if there will be a next book in the series. I at least hope so.
Even though I enjoy this series I felt it was lacking compared to the two previous books. I don't know maybe I'll give this another read but with the main characters parent dating each other was a little to much for me.
I love this writer's style of writing but the story wasn't that compelling to me, I was hoping for more Tegan and India. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the characters are interesting but I wanted more from the MC
