Ari—Once an Eternal Guardian, now he's nothing but a rogue mercenary with one singular focus: revenge. His guardian brothers all think he’s dead, but he is very much alive in the human realm, chipping away at Zeus’s Sirens every chance he can, reveling in his brutality and anonymity. Until, that is, he abducts the wrong female and his identity is finally exposed. It will take more than the Eternal Guardians, more even than the gods to rein Ari in after everything he’s done. It may just take the courage of one woman willing to stand up to a warrior who’s become a savage.

Before topping multiple bestseller lists—including those of the New York Times, USA Today, and the Wall Street Journal—award winning author Elisabeth Naughton taught middle school science. A voracious reader, she soon discovered she had a knack for creating stories with a chemistry of their own. The spark turned into a flame, and Elisabeth now writes full-time.

Though primarily known for her romantic suspense work, Elisabeth has penned over thirty books and continues to write in multiple genres, including paranormal romance and contemporary romance. Her books have been translated into numerous languages and have earned several award nominations, including three prestigious RITA® nominations from Romance Writers of America. In 2017, REPRESSED, the first book in her Deadly Secrets series, won the RITA® for best romantic suspense.

Elisabeth's work has been praised by the Chicago Tribune as being filled with "deadly intrigue, high adrenaline action, and scorchingly hot passion.” Kirkus calls her "a writer talented enough at weaving a yarn to get her readers ensnared in it.” When not dreaming up new stories, Elisabeth can be found spending time with her husband and three children in their western Oregon home, wrangling two cats, or chasing after one very rambunctious Dalmatian.

RAVAGED (Eternal Guardians 7.5) by Elisabeth Naughton is the latest book in the Series and we have Aristokles and Daphne’s story….. I found Ari a very intriguing character, when he was first introduced, albeit very briefly, in the previous book,Twisted https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... and I was eager to learn more about him.

Aristokles, one of the original Argonauts had faked his death, leaving his young son, Cerek with the Argonauts, in order to keep them safe. He has been hiding for over fifty years fearing that his uncontrollable desire to kill any Siren he comes across may lead to his own madness and destruction. He has suffered immensely at the hands of the Gods and now lives a very solitary life, hidden away in the cold and remote part of the world, his only aim is to revenge the pain and suffering he has endured.

Daphne, a Siren in training, is given the task by Zeus and Athena to kill Ari, who has become a thorn on their side. She’s determined to complete her mission, as she knows all about his mission to kill all sirens.

But when she’s rescued by Ari and taken to his home, she begins to see that he’s not the person she had believed him to be, but that there’s something inside him that tells her a different story.

I loved Daphne…she’s determined, sweet, endearing and doesn’t give up easily, as Ari soon discovers.
I so enjoyed the development of their romance….

The sexual tension between these two are fantastic and way beyond sizzling….

Daphne knew she was playing with fire, but she no longer cared. Before Ari could push her away, she pressed her lips to his.

He didn’t break the kiss, continued to nip and suck and lick like he couldn’t get enough.

His mouth turned greedy beneath hers. Hot. Wild.

And for so few pages, the author packs in a lot of action and characters we have come to know and love and new ones that really sparked my interest….Silas, Ari’s friend and Daphne’s Siren friend, Sappheire…I wonder if these two will have another appearance in the future.

A great romance with some fabulous dialogue and twists and turns and captivating characters.

The book ended in a totally unexpected and shocking way….what a cliffhanger!!!! I cannot wait for the next book!

One of my favorite quotes

3 1/2 Stars.

I can't decide if this is 3 or 4 stars. I was thinking 4 until the end. Then I was thinking 3. But I'm sure that was a set up for the next book.

Anyway... I liked it better than the previous one. Happy reading.

Daphne, a Siren-in-training, is tasked by Zeus with assassinating rogue Argonaut, Aristokles. However, Daphne soon comes to realize that there are deeper and darker secrets underlying Ari's apparent murderous sprees. Can the pair expose the truth before it's too late for the human realm's fiercest protector?

Series note: This novella in the Eternal Guardians series is part of the 1001 Nights project. It links between the previous Argonaut story-arc and the new arc focusing on the children of the original Argonauts.

Ari and Daphne's relationship develops rapidly, but that is to be expected given the shorter format. Nevertheless, they are both likable and have great chemistry and interactions.

The cameo appearance by some of the other Argonauts and their mates is an added bonus.

In sum, a short and sweet read with a delightful couple. It will be interesting to see if the surprising twist plays out in the next book.

Really liked this addition but I felt this one needed more time, length, a much slower build to love for Ari and Daphne (I just wasn't fully on board with the love between them). It felt rushed. Yes I know it was a novella but I am selfish like that.

I wanted more time when he reunited with his son. More time for his friends to realize he wasn't a goner.

I needed LENGTH.

Annnnd the ending. What the hell just happened?! It was to quick for me!

Well guess I will have to wait for the next one ... sigh

Good but wanted more.

Ravaged was so freaking short. I get it, it's a novella and all but hot damn - give me more people! In it, you will meet Ari and Daphne. They were cute and all but I wanted more of something from them. Maybe it's because everything happen so quickly that I didn't have time to fully enjoy it all. No idea, but I still listened and liked it all. Might even dive into this series next year.

Elisabeth Naughton has a gift, that's really all one has to say about her. No matter what she's writing, PNR, Suspense or Pure Romance she makes me fall in love. This time it's Ravaged Book 7.5 of her Eternal Guardians Series and once again I was swept off my feet. Add to it the fact that it's Ms. Naughton's contribution to the 1001 Dark Nights Series and it's all about amazing!!

Once again an Eternal Guardian has been screwed by Hera.. The goddess who put the curse of a soul mate on the guardians.. Curse? You ask.. of course it's a curse, most of the times it's the least likely person, the one person who can turn your world upside down, the woman/man you would never ever pick.. but that person is destined to be yours.. yeah, it's a curse. Of course the modern day guardians have been a bit luckier and have found love but that's not always the case. This time Hera found a new way to twist the rules and Zues, that wonder god of old, he's found his own reasons to destroy a guardian..

Ari had is soul mate and she died, sucky enough but life got even worse when Zues sicked his sirens on him. For the past 50 years he has been dead to everyone he knows, he left the guardians and his son and lived in exile. Why? because it seems he has this uncontrollable rage and just living is a risk. That and the fact that he has been tracking Sirens for decades. His war with the Sirens is personal.

Daphne dreams of becoming a Siren, not because she has a calling but because she wants to belong. She hasn't really belonged since her village was destroyed and her parents were killed. But finally she has a chance, do this one little job for Zeus and she's in.. Only Zeus tends to lie and manipulate and as much as Daphne dreams of acceptance she has a brain and once she meets this evil "Siren Killer" the facts don't add up.

This book may only be a novella a mere 100 pages but it packs a heck of a punch! Total WOW factor. Ari and Daphne are dynamic together and when they stand together for the truth? It's powerful.. this book pulls out a gamut of emotions from cheers to tears and not a little anger.. Absolutely amazing. How Elisabeth does it continues to astound me!

This was just a great book!!

A novella by name, but to me, this read like the other full-length fantastic books in EN's Eternal Guardian series. This was packed with all the elements I have come to love about these books & the Argonauts .. action, the Guardians, hot steamy scenes and a gripping plot that kept me on the edge of my seat. Even though this is only 120-ish pages, EN did not skimp out on anything.

I have always been intrigued by mythology and that is one of the things that drew me to the first book of this series - Marked. EN added another healthy dose in this book and it totally brought out the geek in me. As if I couldn't love reading more, throw in some hot-alpha males who have protectiveness in their DNA combined with mythology and all sorts of gods, demi-gods, sirens, nymphs & daemons and you have one fabulous series of books. Love all the creativity .. and I can't get enough!

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this novella from the author in exchange for my honest review .. and that is exactly what this is.

This was jam packed from beginning to end! Zeus and his band of really witchy assassins go up against Aristokles, the Argonauts, and a couple of actual Sirens..well, Diana is a Siren in training, but thats semantics..

Diana was intelligent, sweet, and so genuinely nice, I couldn’t help but like her! Ari however, was her polar opposite with his Mr. Grump attitude, but I couldn’t blame him once I learned how the gods turned him into a pawn. Their romance was sizzling hot with an edge of humor and it was hard to miss how these two just clicked together! And Ari’s friend Silas was like the fairy matchmaking godfather we’d all want to invite to holiday dinners...he’d bring loads of gossip, good food, and sparkling wit to the table with style, lol!

If you like mythology with artistic liberties, suspenseful twists, and hot romances, the Eternal Guardians series is one I can easily recommend!

Ravaged is book 7.5 in the Eternal Guardians series. I have been a big fan of this series for many years and decided to fill in a read the novellas that I never read. Ari is a former Argonaut and Cerek's father who staged his own death 50 years prior because he lost his mate. Daphne is a Nymph who's training to be one of Zeus's Sirens that is sent to kill Ari. I loved Ari and Daphne together and while yes it was very fast, I really enjoyed this novella. The ending made me cry until I remember book 8.

Review:
The one thing I love and dread the most about anthology bundles is reading books or novellas by new authors I haven't had the opportunity to meet beforehand: there's that 50/50 chance that I might not like the story and then you're left with the big decision of 'what will you do?' - keep the bundle for the authors you do like or simply shelf it and try again another time. But luckily, Ravaged by Elisabeth Naughton isn't one of these authors that has me second guessing - on the contrary, I'm wondering why I haven't heard of her until now! Following more of the Greek Gods and mythology, Ari has been on a rampage to kill every last siren that Zeus and Athena have sent after him after eh's left his brothers and son many years ago for their protection when the bloodlust took hold of him. When Daphne, a siren in training, is sent on a mission to bring Ari in to justice for his crimes, she realizes that not all the rumours are true as they two get to know one another. I was impressed by the number of elements that Elisabeth Naughton incorporated in her novella Ravaged but still managed to make it flow from one scene to another without making it feel overbearing. It was one story that I felt showed all the elements a reader looks for in any novel and I was enthralled from the very beginning and I look forward to discovering more about this author and her other previously and upcoming releases.

••••••••••

REVIEW: 4.5 stars--RAVAGED (Eternal Guardians 7.5) by Elisabeth Naughton is the latest installment in the 1001 Dark Nights novella series. This is rogue Argonaut warrior Ari (Aristokles), and nymph Daphne’s storyline. Elisabeth Naughton’s Eternal Guardians paranormal romance, fantasy series is based in Greek mythology, prophecy and history.

RAVAGED follows Daphne, a Siren in training, who has been tasked, by Zeus, to kill Aristokles. Ari currently lives in the human realm, and the stories reveal that Ari is a monster; a dark and dangerous rogue Argonaut, who out of revenge and grief following the murder of his first mate, tortures and kills the creatures responsible for her death-Sirens. Daphne, not quite a Siren, must seduce and destroy Aristokles before she is allowed entry in the Siren caste. What ensues is the building relationship between Ari and Daphne, and the revelation that Ari’s acts of murder and destruction are not of his making.

Fifty years earlier, Ari faked his own death, leaving his son Cerek, and the other Argonauts to grieve the loss of their father and friend. But Ari’s disappearance was self-imposed as he was unable to control the need to kill the Sirens whenever they were in his presence. Daphne’s presence will help Ari focus on the need, and with her help, Ari and Daphne will uncover the truth behind Ari’s uncontrolled murderous rage.

Although a novella, RAVAGED, is a complete story: we learn about Daphne’s background, Ari’s history, and the gods of Olympus who play with the fates of man and beast. Several of the Argonauts make a cameo appearance including their leader Theron, as well as Argonauts Demetrius, Gryphon, Phineus and Titus. Half Breed ‘Misos’ Silas is introduced as Ari’s friend and ‘roommate’; and Daphne’s friend and Siren Sappheire, whose own understanding of the truth, finds another Siren in the human realm.

Elisabeth Naughton seamlessly blends Greek mythology with a modern timeline. There is romance and passion; betrayal and revenge; grieving and death. The characters are a mix of man and gods; daemons and beasts; Sirens, nymphs and Fates. Their stories are heartbreaking, passionate, and exciting. There is always a happily ever after-for now-because, well, Zeus always has another plan to create destruction and chaos, in the world of man.

As a big fan of this series, I was very excited to get to Ari's story. This novella is part of the Eternal Guardians series, which follows the goings-on between the Argonauts, the gods, and other mythological creatures of the other-worldly realm.

Argonaut Aristokles was presumed dead for a long time, so his son Cerek was taking his spot with the Argonauts. Ari is not dead, but he wanted everyone to think he was because he's been cursed. Ever since his soul mate died, he has had revenge on his mind and seeks out Sirens who he blames for her death. However, when's he's near them, he experiences black outs as he goes into a fit of rage, killing everyone he can. Since he's an Argonaut gone rogue, Zeus wants him dead. Who better than to get close to him than a female, trained to be a Siren, but not one yet.

Nymph Daphne wants desperately to be a Siren and has completed all the training except for marksmanship. So when she's offered the deal to become a Siren by completing this one task, she accepts. Except the task is to get close to Ari, seduce him and then kill him. However, coming face to face with the monster himself, she realizes that something isn't quite right about the whole thing. He's not crazed, he is cursed, but not from what he thinks. As she tries to come to terms with what she has been told and what she now knows to be true, she finds herself falling in love with him. He's determined to stay as far away from her as he can, but Daphne has other plans. Will she be able to help him, or will the powers-that-be find a way to kill him for her.

First, I love this series - I highly recommend it to anyone! There are plenty of sexy Argonauts, their soul mates and even half breeds that have made this series exciting. Ari is one tortured and scarred hero that you just immediately fall in love with. His scars are emotional as well as physical. He's barricaded himself away from his son and his friends all in order to protect them. When Daphne shows up, she turns his world around and gives him reason to hope again. Even though this was a novella, it didn't feel rushed or under developed, but I sure would have liked to have seen more of Ari. I felt Daphne and Ari were both well-defined and their chemistry was sizzling and very rewarding. The mystery of what happened to him is explained and there's twist at the end that will sure to bring about an exciting new novel. I've come to expect no less from this author!

“Duty crumbles to ashes in the fires of love.”

Aristokles, one of the original Argonauts, lives and breathes this idea, and because of it, it has destroyed his life, and now he’s forced to live without his soul mate, without his son, and cursed to walk alone in life and hide his existence from everyone, especially Zeus and his sirens.

Daphne’s a Siren in training and to prove her worth to Zeus and Athena, she must find and kill Ari so that he can longer murder her chosen people. But Daphne’s task becomes complicated when the Ari she meets and learns about is nothing like the ravenous killer he has been portrayed to be, forcing her to decide whose side she’s on and whether her desire to be a siren overpowers her need to do what’s right in order to protect those who need it.

Ravaged was my first read by Elizabeth Naughton and I love the world she’s created in her Eternal Guardians’ series. Ari and Daphne are strong willed characters who have faced a lot of devastation in their past, which has, in a way, tainted their outlook on life, especially Ari’s view. But even though their pasts have definitely shaped how they see themselves, their attraction to one another…their protecting natures…their determination also forces them to take action and to attempt to right the wrongs that have been done to them and those they love.

Now, I need to go back to the beginning of the series and be introduced to all of the Naughton’s characters because all of them are fascinating and I want to hear their stories to get a full view of everything they have faced, leading up to Ravaged.

This is a novella that was released as part of the 1001 Dark Nights anthology. Elisabeth Naughton gives us a quick glimpse at what her Eternal Guardians have been up to since we last saw them in Twisted, book 7. As I was reading this, I kept thinking it had been too long since I re-read this series. It spurred me into bringing them back up on my TBR pile!

This story is about Ari and Daphne. Daphne is one of Zeus’ warrior Sirens although she has not passed her final test. Ari was once and Eternal Guardian, but suffered the loss of his mate and faked his own death. Zeus is anxious to be rid of Ari and gets Daphne to agree to seduce and kill him. Once Daphne meets Ari, all commitments are out the window. Ari is not what the Gods have painted him to be. He does have a wonderful lumbersexual vibe going on though. Daphne is drawn to him. She sees the man he truly is. Daphne is a very strong female lead. She listens to her heart and does the right thing. As always, this author willing throws in little twists and turns to make the story interesting. Zeus is a first class douche by the way!

Although this is just a short novella, I think it is one of my favorite of the series. I love how quirky and down to earth Daphne is when she isn’t pretending to be a Siren. Ari has endured years of pain and heartbreak and deserves to have some happiness. You could pick this up and read it as a stand-alone. It will most likely get you interested in the whole series! Why not start at the beginning with Marked?

Looking forward to the next ET installment!

Oh I so much loved this story

Ari is an Argonaut who left Argolea for the safety of his fellow Argonaut's. He lives a life in isolation thinking he is crazy and blacks out when around sirens, murders them savagely. His love of long ago was murdered and at his hand. He blames himself for all that has happened. He has no desire to be around this nymph Daphne, she is nothing but trouble in his eyes.

Daphne is on a mission to kill the mad and crazy Argonaut that has murdered her people, never mind they aren't really her people yet..... But she made a bargain with Zeus, that if she kills him she will be accepted into the realm with the rest of her warriors.

Something is amiss, and Daphne is determined to find out what it is.

This is an intense, suspenseful, action packed story of two people who both want to be accepted even though they are opposites; who both have missions that need to be finished before anything is resolved. There are lies, deceit, death, mayhem, twist and turns that will shock you; and of course the most erotic love that will have your toes curl. Did I say this is hot??? Oh it is so very hot.

I have read all of Ms Naughton's Guardians books, and yes, I loved each and everyone one of them. They are so different from one another; you will fall in love with the characters.

I'll be interested to find out what Zeus has up his evil sleeve.

Ravaged (Eternal Guardians #7.5) by Elisabeth Naughton Zeus tasks nymph/siren-in-training, Daphne, to kill former Eternal Guardian, Aristokler (Ari).

Ravaged is an exciting and creative novella worthy of Eternal Guardians Series.

Daphne is a determined and persistent heroine. She is sweet and likable. She finds out some interesting things about her past and is good support for Ari.

Ari is a worthy hero. Not wanting to hurt the ones he cares about by continually having to witness his curse, he fakes his death. He has good intentions. He has suffered greatly at the hands of the gods.

Sappheire and Silas are good friends to both Daphne and Ari. I liked how the two got along with each other throughout the story.

Zeus is about as worthy of an adversary that you can get. You never know what the conniving god has up his sleeve.

I was impressed by all the details and action packed into this novella. Elisabeth Naughton is a dedicated writer who always amazes me. She continues to successfully create a contemporary continuation of Greek mythology.

The ending was really interesting. I cannot wait to find out what happens in the next book.

Ari já tinha aparecido no volume anterior, Twisted and deixou-me uma forte impressão.

This is my favorite Elisabeth Naughton series. I stumble across it a few years back and started reading the back list that was already out and then started reviewing the new books as they came out. I don't think i have ever read a similar series. In this novella we find out who Ari is. Up until now we didn't really know much about him except he was supposedly crazy. The rest of the Argonauts think he is dead. He faked his own death to protect them and his son who is one of the Argonauts. Daphne was orphaned at age 7 when her whole village was wiped out. Taken from a orphanage to be trained as a Siren she thought she'd finally belong but something never felt right. Then Zeus tells her she has to find Ari and essentially take him out. Things are never what they seem when you're talking about the gods and it doesn't take Daphne long to see the truth. With a little help from Ari they both learn more about each other and possibly find love at long last. Loved this for only 100 pages it had the feeling of a full book. With the limited page number you don't get a lot of extra characters until the end but what there is was exciting and so much is revealed but also so many new questions. Exciting from beginning to end!

Homerun...

As a huge fan of the Eternal Guardians series I could not wait to get my hands on this book. Elisabeth Naughton hits yet another homerun with Ari's story. Ravaged gives us the insight we have been looking for on Ari and his disappearance from the Argonauts and introduces us to Daphne who is a captivating nymph that quickly captures Ari's heart. In this fast paced tale there is something for just about everyone, damsels in distress, sword welding Argonauts, Greek gods, and last but not least, the steamy romance between Ari and Daphne, who are perfectly matched. I think my only negative comment is that as a novella it left me wanting more of these sexy Argonauts and their quest to protect the world from the meddling gods. I enjoyed this book so much that I'm considering rereading the series prior to the next book being released.

As this is book 7.5 in the Eternal Guardian series, it is not a stand alone book. In order to fully understand the storyline it is best to start with the first book in the series Marked. Hope you enjoy this book and series as much as I have.

Yay! More Eternal Guardians..

Skyla and Orpheus, Theron, Zander, Demetrius, Phin, Gryphon, Titus, Nick, and her awesomeness Lachesis the Fate. All wonderful characters from all the previous books that joined Ari and Daphne to fight Zeus’s Sirenum Scorpoli, but not without a terrible lose. Maybe.

This was such an exciting read for a novella. But if you haven’t read the other books you might be a little lost when Daphne shows up in Argolea to ask for the Argonauts help but it was near the end so it might be OK. If you haven’t read this series you really should.

As always, there was some really nice sexual tension in this novella then some great sex.

Although, I don’t mind the word the F-Bomb was released 18 times, for those of you who hate swearing.

I love The Eternal guardian series! I read it all in one night. I couldn’t put it down until i was finished. I love the characters, especially when they pull in the Argonauts. Such great characters. The main characters in the story, Daphne and Ari, were well written. You could feel the chemistry between the two. The love scenes were hot and exciting. I love Ms Naughtons writing style. You get very involved in the stories right away. The books always leave you wanting to see what happens next, who will hook up together, maybe Silas and Sappheire ? We will see….

ARC reviewed for a honest review.

This was my first read by this author. Absolutely a wonderful read. I enjoy reading books about the Gods and this one didn't disappoint.

Ari has lost so much time to his revenge. He locks himself away and only protects. He misses his family and his old life.

Daphne is a training siren sent to distort Ari.
What she finds in the process is simply stunning.

This book is a must read. So many emotions play out in this read.

Excellent writing with a fantastic storyline.

5 great stars

First I’d like to thank you for ARC Elisabeth. I Love the Eternal Guardian series and I was not disappointed. I was enthralled by this book and found I was having a hard time putting it down. The emotional roller coaster is uncanny. You captured me and pulled me right into to this story. Ladies you will not be disappointed at all, the thrill, excitement, passion, you’ll become part of the story. Well done Elisabeth, Well Done.

This is another AWESOME story....short and oh so sweet. There is back stories on both Ari and Daphne and these two have so much chemestry right from the moment they meet and it only intensifies throughout the book. Ari is another hot Argonaut and Ms. Naughton's discriptions of characters, emotions and sex, make you feel like your right there in the book. Your imagination runs wild in this book. There is laughter, spice, adventure and intense feelings of want and desire. Then there is the major twist at the end that has your mouth dropped and chomping at the bit to get the next book in this series...so on that asap! This is a well thought out, planned and written series, highly recommend to anyone who love romance paranormal adventures.
