Lovely short story, Dorian, New York, WWII, snow and romance, but the end wasn't that romantic :D
Hope Nina will pop up later!

The Confessions of Dorian Gray is a series of short audios that has intrigued me for a while now.

War is over, yet battle continues. Escaping to Manhattan Dorian Gray comes across a beguiling woman who will make sure he isn’t alone on Christmas Eve.

This was atmospheric and rather romantic audio drama that I’ll confess tugged on my heart strings. The ending was a bit of a shock though.

Overall: A really good audio despite its short length. 8/10

This is a short story set in the US. Dorian goes skating in the park with a beautiful woman who enchants him. Someone who is not what she seems...

A quick short in the series with a twist ending. Wonderful cast and production as always.

This was way too short. Just when we find out the identity of the woman (a famous literary character), it ends? What a waste. This should have been a full story.

This was way more of a setup to a story than an actual story. I had hoped for a little more, but as a freebie, it's perfectly fine.

Fun and short but a bit to short. It ended just as it was about to get interesting. Hope this is followed up on.

This and the Halloween short story Trick or Treat were my first introductions to the series and I will admit I was intrigued. I had loved the original classic by Oscar Wilde and when I heard this concept I decided to check it out. This was free on Big Finish so I decided to check it out along with the Halloween short story so of course I took the opportunity to download it and listen to it. Boy was I happy I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt the story was well written and the voice acting between Dorian (voiced by Alexander Vlahos) and the woman (voiced by Laura Doddington) was well acted and it felt like I was there. It seemed like it would be a romantic story and then at the end it turned sinister and I liked that because I didn't expect it. Knowing the concept I thought it might take a turn but when it came I was "What ?" and I enjoyed it

The only downside, other then being a bit too short for my liking, but that's not such a big deal considering it's a little episode instead of a major one, was that we don't know about the woman, named Nina. I'm assuming (or hoping) she'll be explained in the other episodes but this story made me want to know more about her and I wish they at least gave up a bit more details on her but overall not a really bad complaint.

Overall, I would definitely listen to it over and over again and recommend this to others if they want to start the series but aren't sure if it's worth the money. They can listen to the two free mini episodes and decide from there.

As a small Christmas special – so to speak – of the confessions of Dorian Gray series is, this had a very nice story to it. Focusing on one of particular night in New York, doing great with a very alluring and compelling young woman and one night of romance quickly turn sinister.

The writing for this story was very good and the two main actors played a terrific two hander during this short story, I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the series or is looking to start. A very fast and easy listen.

This Dorian story doesn’t really get much of a chance to leave a great impression, I mean it’s only 6 minutes long! Thankfully it relies on beautiful imagery and excellent narration, it’s just a shame that there was never a follow up story to this; as it does sort of tease more that will be picked up later on. With its vivid descriptions of the snow and ice, and the ambience of the season, this story is a fab winter listen if you have a few minutes to kill. The background music is very eloquent, with soft chords and a gentle melody, punctuating the dialogue very well. The music was very different and lacking in the bombast that most Dorian stories have, so the change did give the story some memorability. The story doesn’t really have much sound design and that worked for me, I was able to visualise all that was going on just based on Alexander Vlahos’ detailed narration. I have so many nice things to say about the story, but it’s a shame I can’t rate it or sum it up with any great adoration; a free 6 minute story with no bearing on the continuity of the series. This story I would sum up as best I can with; there is no reason at all for this story to exist, it wouldn’t matter if it was never made,

A free story released by Big Finish for Christmas 2014 featuring Dorian Gray in NYC in WWII. A seemingly romantic little story that takes your knees out at the end. I'm intrigued by this and hope we hear more from this antagonist.

Intriguing, but short. I would love to know more about the antagonist; hopefully she'll pop up later on in the series.
