***Stranded by BJ Harvey***

Things are about to change for Harlow when her father needs her to fill in on a flight to Chicago just before Christmas. But when a snow storm leaves the flight crew stranded in Chicago, Porter, her father’s chief pilot is not about to let this chance slip through his fingers. He’s been attracted to Harlow since the moment he met her, but making a move for the boss’s daughter was a sure way to blow his career. But now that these two are stranded, temptation proves to be too great to ignore.

This was a steamy, short read that is perfect for the holidays. Harlow and Porter both had instant chemistry that you felt as you started their story. I think what I loved the most was that the story was simple. These two characters were as close as you could get to normal without making them boring. No millionaire playboy... no broken heroine... just two characters in a position that forced them to deny their desires until they were put in a situation where they couldn’t help but give in.

BJ is an easy favorite, I’ve loved her romantic suspense series and the rom-com that was Bliss, but I sort of fall in love with her novellas. I am not sure exactly why because it’s hard to explain. Some authors can write a five hundred page story but yet aren’t always able to deliver on something that is condensed into a smaller package. I think many feel that a novella might be easier because you have less to do. But honestly, it can’t be easier to deliver a full story in a quarter of the space. BJ has done her novellas.

Stranded was a wonderfully told romance that was steamy at all the right places and really made you wonder why in the hell are these two just getting a novella. Porter and Harlow were both characters that you easily want more from.

SNOWFLAKES & FIRE ESCAPES by J M DARHOWER - Reviewed by Gitte & Jenny

J.M Darhower really has the knack for grabbing us the moment we open our kindles to start one of her new stories. This time was no exception. Snowflakes & Fire Escapes had us riveted and we read it in one sitting wanting more long after reading the last page. It was spell binding; intriguing and chock a block of emotion and suspense. The characters had such depth in this flawlessly written story that really packed a punch in such a short space of time. Did we mention we wanted more? *Cough* J.M we want MORE!!!!

‘I don’t put up a fight. It doesn’t matter where I’m going. Not as long as where I’m going, I have him.’

Gracie and Cody had a hard life through no fault of their own; rather their place in it was determined by who they were born to and the roles they had to play to survive. It was heart breaking, so sad – yet so sweet at the same time. Hell’s Kitchen was indeed just that for these two and the obstacles placed in the way kept reminding them of just what they couldn’t have or be.

“Couldn’t keep my eyes off you back then, guess I loved you even when I was ten.”

The drama was quite action packed and as their story unfolded a new character came into it who we NEED to know more about, yeah we’re talking about Holder! So yeah, we loved this story and we need and want more Cody and Gracie as well as the enigma that is Holden. Pretty please!

‘This couldn’t really be Hell…not when I looked at him and swore I could see Heaven.’

Just as every snowflake is unique and magical; so is J.M Darhower. She mesmerises us every single time. A must read!

“I’d risk anything and everything for her.”

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and what a perfect way to start off our festive season reading than with Stranded by BJ Harvey which is part of the All I Want Anthology!

Stranded was everything we could wish for in a Christmas Novella. It was a delicious mix of sweet, flirty, fun, very sexy and Christmassy! Just perfect! Harlow and Porter certainly use their time wisely (and passionately) while they’re stranded in Chicago just before Christmas and we enjoyed every minute spent with them.

We’ll put it out there and say we certainly wouldn’t be complaining if we were stuck with the absolutely drop dead gorgeous pilot Porter Daniels for a few days! Whoa! He certainly had us swooning through Stranded that’s for sure!

“I’m not strong enough to stay away. I need you more than my next breath, and I plan to keep breathing for a long, long time.”

Harlow and Porter both have feelings for each other but they have admired one another from afar. Being thrust together during a snow storm in Chicago, giving them the opportunity to test their feelings and the way BJ Harvey told their story was absolutely wonderful. We believed in the characters and we felt their connection immediately.

There’s nothing like a friends to lovers story, add in a Christmas feel, a wonderful story, loads of passion, two characters who are down to earth, no unnecessary drama, and we had a winner with Stranded. In fact we were sad to say goodbye to this couple and could have happily spent more time with them, we loved them THAT much!

“Kiss me, Porter.”

Stranded gave us that warm, Christmas glow, it left us happy, fulfilled and feeling as though we’d just opened and enjoyed the perfect Christmas present!

Don’t hesitate in grabbing this one, yule be glad you did!

Stranded - B J Harvey

3 Oh Porter stars

Har (Harlow) Wilson jumps in as cabin crew to help her Dad with his executive airline business, when he is let down a few days before Christmas. They are carrying a notorious rockstar, and Daddy Wilson has requested that Porter Daniels, the Chief pilot, keeps an eye on his precious daughter during the process.

Porter has a reputation as a ladies man, but he only has eyes for Har since first meeting her. The fact that she is the boss’s daughter has curtailed him pushing any further, until outrageous behaviour by their obnoxious client, called for Porter to rescue the stewardess in distress.

This was a sweet, steamy story of lust at first site. I enjoyed the writing, which easily flowed. But for me, there was no real culminating point to the story, and as a result IMO, it just drifted, and then fell a bit flat.

Snowflakes and Fire escapes - JM Darhower

4.5 Snowflake stars

A gritty story about a boy and a girl, who have grown up in Hell’s Kitchen. Cody Callaghan’s father, Cormac, runs the town, whilst, unbeknown to Grace, her father works for him.

Grace’s mother died 10 years ago, and she finds herself alone and contemplative most of the time. Her father is obsessed with keeping her safe, be it at the private convent she attends, or the constant reminder to lock doors and windows.

In true JM Darhower style, no punches are pulled as the story unfolds through leaping to past and present. Once meeting in the middle, the true extent of this Christmas timed story is revealed. Perfect <3

* A review copy of STRANDED was provided by B.J. Harvey in exchange for an honest review *

Amazon Link--->> All I Want

~~ 5 I Want More Stars ~~

I WANT MORE!!!! This is the only downfall of reading a novella written by B.J. Harvey. It's never enough :)

B.J. Harvey rocked this novella out of the park. I absolutely love everything she writes and Stranded is no different. The characters she creates are fantastic and believable. This is a novella so things move fairly quickly in this story, but it never felt rushed to me. And can I say Ms. Harvey know how to write a sex scene….Holy melt my panties ;) Every Hero she has created has melted my heart.

I thought this was a great holiday novella and it was exactly what I was looking for. In this story we meet Porter and Harlow (love both of these names…btw) Harlow works for her dads private airline company in marketing and Porter was hired on 6 months ago as the chief pilot. Two days before Christmas, they are sent on a quick flight to chicago. Harlow has secretly crushed on Porter since she met him and Porter has also hidden his true feelings for Harlow. While in Chicago a snow storm hits and they are STRANDED!!! What happens from here is a sweet and steamy love affair. I loved Harlow and Porter together. You could definitely feel their connection. Ms. Harvey even through in a little drama, just to shack things up a bit, but it is short lived :)

What I thought was truly fantastic was that she also gave us a little glimpse of one of her couples from her Bliss Series. I am not going to say who the Cameo was from, but it was great seeing them again and catching up on what they have been up to. I am definitely going to have to do a reread of the Bliss Series soon, because I didn't realize how much I missed that group of characters.

So if you are looking for a fun, sexy, and sweet holiday love story and don't have a lot of time to read, pick this novella up, you won't be sorry!!!! Also if you are a fan of B.J. Harvey's work, then you for sure don't want to miss this story!!!

12 Days of Forever by Heidi McLaughlin

I was happy knowing that we were getting a little Beaumont novella again. This is one of my favorite series. I had no idea who the couple would be and boy was I surprised.

Yvie, Harrison's sister is visiting for the holidays and she meets Xander, who is friends with all the guys as well as their trainer. Their chemistry is off the charts and you can feel how they both want to explore it but are hesitant because she is only there for a week. Either way, they time they spend together is hot and leaves you wanting more :) It was seeing the rest of the crew and the kids. I am more curious about Peyton and her relationship with Yvie :) She's the most quiet and it was nice seeing her open up a little.

What happens when Yvie has to go back to NY? I know their story will continue in another book coming soon and I look forward to the rest of their story.

As always, great job Heidi!!

All I Wanted for Christmas

My Christmas wish just came true.

Santa (aka Heidi McLaughlin) brought me more of my beloved Beaumont characters. Beaumont is a special place and once you visit, you can't help but return again and again. It's become like home to me too. I love these characters so much. They feel like family. So re-visiting them makes me happy. Now I have a new Beaumont story to read over and over. Xander and Yvie are a great match and I loved this introduction to them. Beaumont at Christmastime is always special and I'm glad that I got to spend another one there. Now I'll be counting the days until February when we can go back.

SNOWFLAKES & FIRE ESCAPES by J.M. Darhower REVIEW

Even though Snowflakes & Fire Escapes is part of an anthology and not a full-length novel, it is a complete story. Nothing feels rushed or left out, definitely a top level read.

I fell for Cody and Gracie right away. The kind of love they have is pure and true and precious and rare. They have been best friends since birth. That friendship slowly turned to more and continued to grow. With both having been born into crime families, it doesn't take long for the real word to burst their bubble.
"It's easy to say, because it's true. You can break people apart, but you can't rob them of what's them. You'll never be without me, because I'll always be part of you, just like you're in me, Gracie. You're my soul, love."

I can't go into exactly why because it would give away too much of a spoiler, but this storyline is a different side from the usual organized crime novel. The point of view of mob kids growing up isn't a new thing, but the direction the plot takes is not the normal from stories I've read.

Snowflakes & Fire Escapes is an endearing read that I definitely recommend. I give it
5 SNOWFLAKES

I was given a copy of the book Stranded by BJ Harvey as part of this anthology. I will read and review the other stories as the book is released. The rating and opinions in this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

Stranded - BJ Harvey

Harlow has to fill in last minute on a flight to Chicago. It's a favor to her Dad who owns the airline, Wilson Air. Harlow has done it many times before but it's right before Christmas and she has things to do! The situation goes from bad to worse when she finds out the pilot for the flights is Porter-sex on a stick-Daniels, whom she's liked from the get go. But he's shown absolutely no interest in return. How is she going to get through the flight? When stormy weather strands the flight crew in Chicago, Harlow is just plain blue knowing she is going to miss Christmas with her Dad. For Porter, he looks at it as a blessing! He has decided enough is enough and plans to tell Harlow how he really feels. He can't let this chance slip through his fingers!

Whew! What a story! I loved it and couldn't put it down until I was finished! The story flows easily and I was enthralled from start to finish! For a novella, BJ Harvey didn't cut any corners. It's characters and story are solid. I loved that Harlow and Porter are just normal people working and living their lives. No messed up heads, bombshell secret, or billionaires here!! Just a remarkable story that gives us hot, sexy, and romantic all in one! And at Christmas time??? How can you go wrong with that!!

I was lucky enough to receive an arc of the novella Stranded by BJ Harvey and it was sooooo good!!! It was fun, sweet and hot!!! Porter and Harlow are friends and co workers that have a sizzling chemistry that neither act on. They are not certain that the other feels the same way but as soon as the give in to that undeniable pull it is explosive! I loved that Porter was so confident once he decided he was going to have Harlow. He was unwavering and I liked that. The cameo appearance by another popular couple from one of Ms. Harvey's incredible books was great! I love that couple and the small glimpse of them was fun! This was a short and sweet novella and I wish we could have more of this couple!

My review for Stranded

::::I was given an ARC for an honest and thoughtful review::::
Great authors with great books make this the perfect anthology for the holidays! I knew I would love this book and it more than satisfied me, it went above and beyond my expectations! SO many amazing stories and they are sure to keep you engrossed for a couple of hours!
One story stuck out to me the most and that is because I absolutely love this author! When I heard her work would be a part of this anthology, I could not wait! If you are a BJ Harvey fan like me, you do NOT want to miss out on STRANDED!
Harlow and Porter have been doing a dance of "I cant have you" for six months since they met. Finally the Chicago weather finally does some good and leaves them stranded away from their home in Seattle. Grayson, Porter's best friend helps him get his head out of his ass, giving him the necessary push to finally make a move on Harper. From there the story takes off and lets just say its H-O-T! Plus, Porter is so sweet which is a BONUS ;)
BJ always manages to keep me undecided of who I want from her! I can't say any more without spoiling, so I'm stopping there...
BUT, you should definitely ONE CLICK and not just for Stranded but for all the stories included <3

**I only read two of the nine short stories so my review is based on those only.**

*Avg 4.5 stars*

12 Days of Forever by Heidi McLaughlin: 4 stars
This story is about Harrison's sister, Yvie, the ballerina that lives in NYC. We were introduced to her in My Unexpected Forever. She had a douche of a boyfriend and I was hoping we were going to get more of her story. So I was excited that this was hers!

Yvie is on hiatus for the holidays and she's feeling homesick. She misses Harrison and her nephew, Quinn, and she's looking forward to getting to know her sister-in-law and nieces. She surprises Harrison when she shows up in Beaumont.

Now I was thinking maybe the H would be the remaining band member but it's Xander, Jimmy's personal trainer. After helping Jimmy with his PT when he was shot, the guys from 4225 West supported Xander in opening his own gym.

Xander is looking for love and although he's attracted to Yvie he doesn't see a future for them because of the long distance so he's hesitant to even start anything while she's in town. Yvie has other plans.

The only part I didn't like was when Yvie and Xander first had sex. It was just odd. I thought it was a dream sequence. It seemed so out of character for them both. Plus it was just plain awkward.

Also, this story is not complete. It's just a sneak peek of the story to come in early 2015.

Snowflakes and Fire Escapes by J.M. Darhower: 5 stars
Fantastic story! Gracie is sixteen and lonely. She lives in Hell's Kitchen and her father is always gone doing second-in-command mobster things. Cody is eighteen and the mob boss's son. He's a delinquent and he always knows when Gracie is feeling down, frequently visiting her on her fire escape.

This was a year ago. Present day has Gracie in witness protection in Arizona. She's lost and unhappy. The story alternates between past and present until the two collide.

Beautifully written and very sweet. I loved it.

review of adam, but i cannot wait to read all the other stories in this anthology

OMG, i fricking loved this novella. I really enjoy reading characters POV on situations, so as i have read Tamed by K.a. Robinson which was a 5 star read, i could not wait to get my hands on this novella. Adam and Amber have a relationship that is always on full boil even when they hate each other. So it was interesting to see Adam's POV on such influential scenes as the first view, first sexy time and the heart breaking moments him and Amber have shared. What is really cool is K.a Robinson takes us on a bit of a relationship time hop, one chapter we are in the past observing Adam and his POV of the situations we know happened with himself and Amber. Then we get whole new material!!! We find out what happens after Tamed finished, such as the deep love Adam has for Amber and where their relationship goes next. I will not tell you what this is as it will only spoil it. In addition we also get to see Chloe and Drake as well as the other supporting characters in these new scenes. I loved Adam in Tamed and i am being very serious here i whole heartedly hated him for what he said and did to Amber - he was one to talk at times (pot calling kettle)!! Yes i did love him overall but to read these scenes from Adams POV when he lets rip at Amber is more shocking, seeing it through his eyes and how Amber looked when lashed with the vitriol he spouted is even more heart breaking and again i wanted to reach into my kindle and shake him to say, look you two are perfect for each other!! This novella is in the anthology called All I Want, and i really recommend you purchase it and fall in love even more with Adam and Amber (swoon)

This story is a keeper! Also called All I Want Is Him as a single edition.
-Stranded by BJ Harvey. 3.5 stars. Harlow got lucky, cause Porter thinks her whiny is adorable. Me not so much ;)
-12 Days of Forever by Heidi McLaughlin 2.75 because-Harrison stars. Liked hero Xander. Whiny heroine Yvie needs to get over herself. Cliffy ending and I don't care. Harrison, heroine's brother, his life, his family and friends saved this story. A treat then for fans of the series to be sure. One final rant: H/h nicknames are beyond silly.
-Adam, Torn series 5.5, by K. A. Robinson *sigh* 1 Adam-is-an-unredeemable-TSTL-assshat star. Amber is TSTL, too. Truly. 1 star rating because of baby Gabby. Hopefully she'll grow up to be the adult of this family.
-Lost in Translation by S. L. Scott is set mainly in Paris, is fresh and charming, seductive and romantic, with just enough plot believability to recommend this as a perfect rainy afternoon read! I really, really loved Kandace and Olivier's story!
Solid 4.5 stars!!*****
-Fighter by Tijan. Good second chance read.
3.5 stings-like-a-bee stars!
-Snowflakes and Fire Escapes. This is my first time reading J. M. Darhower, but it won't be the last. Gracie and Cody's story was poignant and heartbreaking a depth of emotion that few novellas ever achieve. With almost all hope gone for these two souls to cling to, I was swept away...knuckle bitting thru it to the last few chapters. 5 solid snowflake stars *****
Well done, dear author. Well done.

Stranded is the perfect holiday read, short, sweet, sexy - BJ Harvey never fails to hit all the right notes, bringing her characters to life in an instant and grabbing you by the collar and demanding your attention.

Harlow Wilson had me laughing and cheering her on from the second her internal monologue kicked in, I was immediately invested and interested in knowing more about her, and what her story was, Harvey has an innate ability to write women that are strong, courageous, hilarious, self depreciating and full of life, she creates the kind of characters that aren't without fault or flaws, but rather embraces these, making it easy to become invested in not only them, but the story.

Porter Daniels, sexy, strong, confident, and man about town seems to have it easy, well liked, respected, and the object of Harlow's affection, after working side by side for her father's aviation business for so long, Harlow has given up hope of Porter ever seeing her as anything other than a colleague and friend, but Christmas is upon them and a series of unfortunate events might be all that's needed to force them both to reveal their true feelings for one another.

I had the pleasure of beta reading Stranded and I've been begging Ms Harvey for more since, a prequel, an expanded novel, a sequel...anything, I adored these characters too much to not read about them again. If you're after something, light, funny, sexy and swoony - All I Want is the perfect Anthology for you.

Read my review: My Golden Reads Review of Adam by KA Robinson Part of the All I Want Anthology

I was provided an ARC for one part of this Anthology.

*** Adam: A Torn Series Novella by K.A. Robinson ***

This novella is Adam’s point of view from Tamed. It takes you from the first time he lays eyes on Amber through the highs and lows of their relationship of Tamed and after the birth of their daughter. The chapters go back and forth from past to present, but it’s not like rereading what you read in Tamed.

I loved getting Adam’s point of view and why he reacted the way he reacted. Never did I think that during the times that he acted like he hated Amber was he doing it because he loved her. How much he hated the changes he saw in her during their time apart.

Her eyes were full of weariness and even hate. The carefree woman I’d left behind was nowhere to be seen.

If only she knew how much I loved her, how much it killed me to hurt her the way I did…

If you loved, Tamed as much as I did you will definitely want to read Adam’s point of view and read the little bit of extras from after Gabriella was born.

My life, my soul, my everything - that was what these two were to me. Life had thrown so much in our path, but it hadn’t mattered. In the end, Amber and I found happiness with each other.

REVIEW OF 12 DAYS OF FOREVER BY HEIDI MCLAUGHLIN

What's better than being home for the holidays? Well home to many is Beaumont and it was heartwarming to be back. This novella features Yvie, Harrison's sister who is a ballet dancer on Broadway, and Xander, personal trainer to 4225 West and gym owner. I loved getting to know them better and watch them get to know each other!
Yvie comes to town on a quick break from Broadway and has just broken up with her producer boyfriend Ollie. Her self esteem is broken. Xander meets Yvie and oh boy do I love this man! He is so sweet in how he respects women and says every woman is beautiful and never should be called fat. Its cute that he blushes easily yet sometimes can be bold in talking to Yvie, knowing he wants her but at times he is holding back since she's only here temporarily. The magnetic pull between the two of them is electric and they sizzle together, it did not disappoint!! Can you say weight bench?!
I also loved catching up with everyone in Beaumont, from the guys in the band and their spouses and all the kids! It was filled with such sweet and tender family moments. They say home is where the heart is and my heart is and will always stay forever in Beaumont.

This review is based only on the story by Jennifer Foor.

The Mitchell clan makes me laugh at the same time they drive me nuts, sometimes they do both at the same time. The prank war often does that, but this time around I found myself laughing, although I did think Jake and Jax took it a bit too far with what they did at Noah's house. I liked that Noah and Christian teamed up and got the twins good.

I was glad that Noah and Shalan's wedding finally came about, it sucked that it had to be put off so much. I thought Noah did a good thing with how he planned things. Shalan drove me nuts by keeping her secret. I get that she wanted to get things taken care of business wise, but she should have told Noah sooner.

With Jake's bomb at the end of this one the next book should be very interesting.

This book has so many authors! Love It! I will add a short review for each author as I read their story.

Hit Or Mistletoe by HJ Harley- 4.5 Stars
I absolutely loved Hit or Mistletoe. It was a fun holiday read. The dialogue was witty, the characters had snarky perfection, the chemistry between Pratt and London was so hot it could melt the snow. Their holiday romance lit up the holidays. And of course, they had to struggle, fight, insult each other before the kiss under the mistletoe. A very merry holiday romance! Thanks for the ARC copy!

I didn't get a chance to read all the stories yet (hopefully next Christmas), but I did get to read the one I bought this anthology for!

Snowflakes & Fire Escapes by J.M. Darhower is exactly why I needed this. A beautiful little story with excitement and heart as we go back and forth with a girl living in Witness Protection, and the events leading up to it. A girl who had no one but the boy she loved and left behind, Cody. Darhower packed in a lot of story and character development in just a short story but I absolutely loved it! It was sweet and wonderful and everything I hoped it would be.
