3 Oh Porter stars

Har (Harlow) Wilson jumps in as cabin crew to help her Dad with his executive airline business, when he is let down a few days before Christmas. They are carrying a notorious rockstar, and Daddy Wilson has requested that Porter Daniels, the Chief pilot, keeps an eye on his precious daughter during the process.

Porter has a reputation as a ladies man, but he only has eyes for Har since first meeting her. The fact that she is the boss’s daughter has curtailed him pushing any further, until outrageous behaviour by their obnoxious client, called for Porter to rescue the stewardess in distress.

This was a sweet, steamy story of lust at first sight. I enjoyed the writing, which easily flowed. But for me, there was no real culminating point to the story, and as a result IMO, it just drifted, and then fell a bit flat.

STRANDED by BJ HARVEY - Reviewed by Jenny & Gitte

“I’d risk anything and everything for her.”

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas and what a perfect way to start off our festive season reading than with Stranded by BJ Harvey which is part of the All I Want Anthology!

Stranded was everything we could wish for in a Christmas Novella. It was a delicious mix of sweet, flirty, fun, very sexy and Christmassy! Just perfect! Harlow and Porter certainly use their time wisely (and passionately) while they’re stranded in Chicago just before Christmas and we enjoyed every minute spent with them.

We’ll put it out there and say we certainly wouldn’t be complaining if we were stuck with the absolutely drop dead gorgeous pilot Porter Daniels for a few days! Whoa! He certainly had us swooning through Stranded that’s for sure!

“I’m not strong enough to stay away. I need you more than my next breath, and I plan to keep breathing for a long, long time.”

Harlow and Porter both have feelings for each other but they have admired one another from afar. Being thrust together during a snow storm in Chicago, giving them the opportunity to test their feelings and the way BJ Harvey told their story was absolutely wonderful. We believed in the characters and we felt their connection immediately.

There’s nothing like a friends to lovers story, add in a Christmas feel, a wonderful story, loads of passion, two characters who are down to earth, no unnecessary drama, and we had a winner with Stranded. In fact we were sad to say goodbye to this couple and could have happily spent more time with them, we loved them THAT much!

“Kiss me, Porter.”

Stranded gave us that warm, Christmas glow, it left us happy, fulfilled and feeling as though we’d just opened and enjoyed the perfect Christmas present!

Don’t hesitate in grabbing this one, yule be glad you did!

Read this in the anthology All I Want. First time I read BJ Harvey. I think Harlow was lucky that Porter found her over thinking things (to a point tipping to whiny) is adorable LOL. The author fleshed out the MCs well enuf in this short, including Harlow's over thinking thingy, but it was almost a deal breaker for me. 3.5 stars because, Porter, playboy pilot that earns his forever girl.

This was the first book I have read by this author and I was hooked! The love story was beautiful and sweet not to mention so hot! Loved the characters. Porter was the perfect book boyfriend and the chemistry between them is scorching. Harlow was strong and kind and I liked the relationship she has with her father, its sweet. I love Christmas love stories so that aspect was perfect for me. I just wish it was longer.

I am so glad to have found one of my new favorite authors and can't wait to read more of her books.

If you want short, Christmassy, and hot - this one hits the spot!

Harlow Wilson has pretty much given up on making Porter Daniels see her as anything more than a friend. However, an incident on a plane and then ending up stranded in Chicago changes things in a big way between them, making a Christmas that neither will forget.

Great read!

REVIEW FOR STRANDED - BJ HARVEY

Stranded is the perfect holiday read, short, sweet, sexy - BJ Harvey never fails to hit all the right notes, bringing her characters to life in an instant and grabbing you by the collar and demanding your attention.

Harlow Wilson had me laughing and cheering her on from the second her internal monologue kicked in, I was immediately invested and interested in knowing more about her, and what her story was, Harvey has an innate ability to write women that are strong, courageous, hilarious, self depreciating and full of life, she creates the kind of characters that aren't without fault or flaws, but rather embraces these, making it easy to become invested in not only them, but the story.

Porter Daniels, sexy, strong, confident, and man about town seems to have it easy, well liked, respected, and the object of Harlow's affection, after working side by side for her father's aviation business for so long, Harlow has given up hope of Porter ever seeing her as anything other than a colleague and friend, but Christmas is upon them and a series of unfortunate events might be all that's needed to force them both to reveal their true feelings for one another.

I had the pleasure of beta reading Stranded and I've been begging Ms Harvey for more since, a prequel, an expanded novel, a sequel...anything, I adored these characters too much to not read about them again. If you're after something, light, funny, sexy and swoony - All I Want is the perfect Anthology for you.

Harlow has to fill in last minute on a flight to Chicago. It's a favor to her Dad who owns the airline, Wilson Air. Harlow has done it many times before but it's right before Christmas and she has things to do! The situation goes from bad to worse when she finds out the pilot for the flights is Porter-sex on a stick-Daniels, whom she's liked from the get go. But he's shown absolutely no interest in return. How is she going to get through the flight? When stormy weather strands the flight crew in Chicago, Harlow is just plain blue knowing she is going to miss Christmas with her Dad. For Porter, he looks at it as a blessing! He has decided enough is enough and plans to tell Harlow how he really feels. He can't let this chance slip through his fingers!

Whew! What a story! I loved it and couldn't put it down until I was finished! The story flows easily and I was enthralled from start to finish! For a novella, BJ Harvey didn't cut any corners. It's characters and story are solid. I loved that Harlow and Porter are just normal people working and living their lives. No messed up heads, bombshell secret, or billionaires here!! Just a remarkable story that gives us hot, sexy, and romantic all in one! And at Christmas time??? How can you go wrong with that!!

I was given a copy of the book Stranded by BJ Harvey as part of an anthology. The rating and opinions in this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

I received a free copy of this novella in exchange for an honest review and here it is. 4.5 stars

This is the first time I've read anything by this author and what a sweet and sexy read it is. Harlow Wilson, whose father owns a posh private airline service, is tasked with being the sole flight attendant for a notorious rock star who's flying to Chicago right before Christmas. She's had a mad crush on the pilot, Porter Daniels, since the day he was hired, 6 months ago, but all her flirting has been for naught. When the drunken rock star grabs her in mid-flight, Porter comes to her rescue. When they find themselves stranded at a hotel in Chicago for several days due to heavy snowstorm activity preventing their return flight, they can finally act on their feelings for each other.

Only two issues kept me from giving this novella a 5-star rating. The first issue is that both Porter and Harlow are 30-year-olds, yet Harlow seems rather emotionally immature, and if her age hadn't been stated, I'd have guessed her to be in her early twenties. Second, I wish this novella had been a novel instead, in which the background of these two characters could have been fleshed-out and explored, since they are both likable as written but rather one-dimensional due to the brevity of this novella. A good read, but short and sweet.

I really loved reading this quick story of two people who meet and feel an instant attraction, but the situation did not make for an easy relationship. Harlow is the part owner of a private airline, and and Porter is the new pilot Harlow's dad had just hired.

The Author's writing is beautiful, love plays a huge theme in this story, between father and daughter and then between Porter and Harlow. Some quotes I highlighted to share:

"I want to be the only man she ever wants."

"Ugh! I went from hating men in one moment when Nixon felt me up, to silently begging Porter to kiss me, all puffy eyed and trembling."

"I kiss her, pouring everything I want, everything I'm feeling into the kiss. My heart pounds against my chest, just waiting for her to stop it. But she doesn't; she returns everything I give her, with a passion matching my own."

"I'm not strong enough to stay away. I need you more than my next breath, and I plan to keep breathing for a long, long time."

"I've wanted you forever, Port."

I don't like giving spoilers, just let me say I loved this book, this couple and I will definitely be reading more by this Author B. J. Harvey.

A short, but sweet Christmas treat that will warm your heart and melt the grinch out of anyone. When Harlow's dad and boss asks her to fill in for a sick flight attendant two days before Christmas, she can't say no. She could never say no the the man who has been both mother and father to her for the past 15 years. There's only one problem...the pilot is the man she's been drooling over for the past six months, ever since her father hired him, and he doesn't have any interest in her "that way". If only she knew how hard it was for Porter to leave her alone. When they find themselves stranded in Chicago for a couple of days due to a major snowstorm, he finally makes his move. But all is not smooth sailing for this couple. You will have to read to find out what really happens to these two, and I'm sure you enjoy it as much as I have. Well written, this tale will have you melting in no time at all, even if there is a snowstorm right outside.
I receive an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I admit I’m not a fan of novellas unless they’re part of a series, but I am a fan of BJ Harvey’s writing and books so I decided that I would give Stranded a try. I’m so glad I did.
I fell in love with Harlow Wilson and Porter Daniels from the moment I ‘met’ them. Even though Harlow is an independent woman, she is a daddy’s girl and would do anything to help her father. I was a daddy’s girl so I was able to identify with her. Cooper is just misunderstood and the more I got to know him, the more I liked him. A hot, protective pilot; what’s not to love?
The only thing I didn’t like about Stranded was the fact that I wanted to read more about Harlow and Cooper. However, the brief appearance of two characters from the Bliss series made me very happy.
I gave Stranded 5 stars.

Other than the fact that the story takes place around Christmas, there isn't really anything that makes this a Christmas romance. Basically it's two people who have had a crush on the other for months and he finally makes a move when they're snowed in together in a hotel. Then it's basically instal-love and lots of sex. Porter is a little too much cave man, and Harlow is fine, but nothing about her makes her stand out to me. Daniel and Mac from the "Bliss" books make an appearance, but it's kind of pointless (nice to see them, but if they don't add anything to the story then why have them in it?). Near the end there's a stupid conflict that could have easily been resolved with a 10 second conversation, but I really didn't care if they stayed together or not.

Harlow has to fill in last minute on a flight for her fathers airline. Not only does she have to deal with the sleazy rock star but she also has to deal with the one man she wants more than anything. But he won't even give her the time of day and she has to except that and learn to be is friend instead. That is until the sleazy rock-star puts his hands on Harlow. Porter wants nothing more than to make Harlow his but he won't do that because he respects his boss to much to step over that line. When his co-pilot Grayson decides that enough is enough and talks some sense into Porter does he finally decided he is going to go after the only woman he wants. Can they make it work once they get back home???

Stranded in another city for Christmas due to bad weather, Harlow and Porter finally stop fighting the attraction that's been brewing for months now. But when they return home, will it all be just a dream?

Harlow's crush on Porter is obvious but she's given up hope of anything ever happening between them. Porter finally realized Harlow is worth losing his job (due to her father being his boss) and takes the plunge. I loved these two together. The fact that Porter was willing to lose his job to be with her and how sweet he was to her by Going out of his way to make their time special. And Harlow's love for Christmas was great. Her excitement bubbled over onto Porter. This was definitely a cute read

Stranded is a very quick read novella that I would rate as a 3 1/2 star. To me it wasn't a Christmas romance but just set in a Christmas scenario. I gave it 3 1/2 stars because I think it could have been more. It was like something was missing that made me end with more questions that answers. Which took from my enjoyment of the book. Stranded has sensual situations so intended for readers over 18.

I look forward to seeing what this author has to offer in the future. Give the book a chance and form your own opinion. The book is alright just not great in my opinion.

Stranded

Harlow Marketing Director or her fathers Company, she helps out wherever needed. Helping out in a pinch, she works a flight in a pinch due to stewardess getting sick. Only problem she will be flying with Porter, the head Pilot whom she has liked since she first met him, flirted with him, tried everything to get him to notice her, nothing, has given up, so at least she can have him as a friend. Will there be more ? Would either of them still want more? Can Love be between to people working at the same company?? Beautiful, cute story, loved it.❤️

This is really a cute story. The bosses daughter and the hunky pilot that works for her dad. They have been watching each other for months and then they get Stranded in Chicago. The story is well written and you don't want to put it down. It's really awesome to think that maybe men like this really do exist. You will just have to find out what he does. But they do get to meet a rock star. Enjoy this story, it's really cute.

I loved this but I wanted more in a good way, this is a great novella it's a funny, hot, romantic read. They are stuck in Chicago and there has been an unspoken electricity between them for six months ever since Porter walked into Harlow's office, but because she is the bosses daughter he's kept his distance and Harlow never thought she stood a chance with him so she just dreamed of him. The snowstorm sets the wheels in motion for these two and you will definitely enjoy it.
