This was a good book to browse through; I found a few good different recipes that were easy to make and that my family liked. The beauty of the library; being able to borrow and try without having to buy it!
Okay, I will admit there were some thing in here I wondered why anyone would bother making in the slow cooker when you could just make it in the oven in a quarter of the time, or half the dishes, or just...why?
BUT there were several recipes I did think would be delicious and wrote down to try. I also may have just stolen the recipe for a sauce or two and plan to make it on the stove in a few places. So that's pretty good! Sometimes I flip through one of these books and find nothing at all!
Being a library book though, I was plenty happy with what I found!
Plenty of these came as a surprise to me. Tinga, various types of breads, even steamed fish. I can't wait to try a few of these. Working from home means it's easy to keep an eye on the crock pot, and many of these recipes look downright delicious!
I feel the same way as the title! While I'm pretty amazed, I'm still quite doubtful that the recipes would really work. The pictures show nicely browned crusty bread. Really?! Well, I won't know till I've tried making some.
