This magical new YA romantasy from the New York Times bestselling author of To Kill a Shadow will steal your heart. Set in Andalay, a world where the ruling Fates bestow gifts among the favored, a thief must join forces with the palace darling after he unwittingly steals a necklace with the power to change everything.

When Damien, a cold and hardened thief, is hired to steal a gift from the powerful Fates meant for Andalay’s sweetheart, Wren Hayes, he finds himself entangled in a web of secrets.

The gift? A locket containing his own phototroph.

Once the locket is opened, hidden truths unravel, ones that shed light on the ruthless ways of the upper-class society. Yearning for the three Fates and the magical gifts they bestow, the lords of Andalay will go to any length to keep their power—including murder.

Brought together by destiny, and fighting a temptation that neither understand, Wren and Damien navigate a seedy world where the truth can destroy not only their lives, but the city itself.

Regency inspired fantasy where magic is tied directly to wealth and status. On your eighteenth birthday, the elite receive a magical gift, BUT WREN’S HAS BEEN STOLEN… so she is now a semi social pariah.

Enter morally grey Damien 😈😈 Wren ends up working with him to uncover a larger conspiracy (SHE DOESNT KNOW HE STOLE HER GIFT). Reluctant allies from different sides of society. Lots of banter and political intrigue.

Even though it is marketed as YA, this reads like upper YA and feels very similar in tone to Heartless Hunter… the ending cliffhanger fully got me. I will absolutely be picking up book two.

set in andalay, where the three fates bless humans with magical gifts, katherine quinn transports readers into a beautiful and unique fantasy world, where we follow wren hayes, the 'princess' of ward one. on her eighteenth birthday, wren anxiously awaits her gift, expecting something powerful and befitting the social status of the hayes family, but it never comes. after setting off to discover why she never received anything, she finds herself entangled in an unraveling web of secrets and partnered with damien, the thief who stole her gift.

okay guy are you all interested yet? because i certainly was. i clicked that arc request button faster than you could say "stolen midnights" and i have to say, this was an amazing book. katherine quinn really did not disappoint, and i would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loved stephanie garber or the rose bargain. (though i have to say miss katherine quinn what did you lace this book with because i literally could not put it down...)(guys, making clear that was a joke because i dont feel like being sued for defamation lol) this novel was a total breath of fresh air. the world and fantasy elements in this book were unique and really wonderful to read about. the setting itself is unlike any other i've encountered in a book, and i really enjoyed it. the fates and magical objects were such a perfect addition to andalay's world, and i loved the incorporation of the magical gifts.

katherine quinn's writing is something i always feel honored to read, and this book was no different. there was opulent imagery, a unique magic system, and don't get me started on the gorgeous ball gowns. there were plot twists left and right, lovable characters, and dreamy, beautifully written chapters. the dual pov's were brilliant, properly conveying different perspectives without one voice overshadowing the other.

something i really appreciated about stolen midnights is its sharp commentary on society, the privilege that comes with wealth, and the twisted ways society keeps the rich wealthy by exploiting the vulnerable and poor. it plays a huge part in damien's motives and wren's character arc, in addition to the entire plot. many societal issues were really called in this book, such as abuse of power, class issues and complicated family dynamics.

omg the romance in this. it was so so so sweet and perfect and the banter was spot on. the grumpy x sunshine trope had me giggling and screaming and i had such a good time reading the romance. the slow burn was excellent, and it was so cute to see damien deny his feelings for wren. their chemistry is off the charts and the romance was so good, like katherine quinn really knows how to write a good ya romantasy.

oh and something i loved seeing in this novel? female empowerment. andalay is a patriarchal society, like most are, but an element that was really highlighted in the story was women supporting women, women knowing their worth and trying to stand up and break society's expectations of them. there was this representation of older generation of men upholding and enforcing this stereotypical, antiquated role of women, with a newer generation of men supporting independent, strong and free willed women, and i think that was executed perfectly.

⤿🌌⸝⸝꒷꒦𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬꒦꒷🌺 ꒱

"I want you. Even when you infuriated me, I wanted you."

𝐰𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐬: my girl wren oh my gosh. i love wren so much (seems to be a pattern with characters named wren ngl) she's such a sweetheart. i hate how she was manipulated by her father and her stuck up, horrible family does not deserve her at all. wren is snarky and strong, ambitious and strong willed. she will take no nonsense from anyone or anything until she gets the thing she is aiming for, and nothing will get in her way.

"You, Wren Hayes, are the only magic I will bow down to. The only gift I covet. I'm lucky you see me, too."

𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧: words cannot describe how much i love damien. he is messy, chaotic and complicated, but in all the right ways, making him perfectly imperfect. he's charming and is your average everyday thief who doesn't care about anyone at all (but then you know, he does). the dynamic between him and wren was just so wonderful, and really something that made me smile.

are you ready for it? for those who read my reviews often, you know that i like to keep my arc reviews structured, but like this five star read needed some extra commentary. (to the people on netgalley/the publisher: uh hi! so um this is kinda unhinged and just me in me mode instead of reviewer mode, so i'd really appreciate if i'm not judged too harshly <3) first, MY POST READ BECAUSE OH MY DAYS. MISS KATHERINE QUINN IM SPEECHLESS. for those who have buddy read with me im decent-ish at predicted and theorizing the outcomes of books. but no. the plot twists was like girl what?????? i did not see that coming. i will probably DIE OF IMPATIENCE before the sequel comes out...like PLEASE IM BEGGING THAT CLIFFHANGER AHHHHH I NEED THE NEXT BOOK IN MY HANDS LIKE NOW. okay okay, had to get that out of my system.

alright let me start on damien because OMFG THE MAN THAT HE IS. i love damien so much and at this point i should just change my username to "damien's #1 fangirl" because that's exactly what i am. the dynamic and romance is everything and damien's personality really fits so well with wren's and he is for sure securing a high spot in my long, long list of book boyfriends. THE BANTER OMG THE BANTER THE BANTER THE BANTER ALK:JLFHAKHFKHSDKJFHKJSHDKFHKFSHDKJ the banter had me screaming giggling kicking my feet like oh my god yes. yes. yesyesyyesyeysyeyyesyes. but long story short? damien = 🤭🤭🤭🫦🫦🫦

Happy pub day!!!

4.5 ✨ because I’m a little bummed at the epilogue. Although a great cliff hanger, I would have preferred the book just end with the final chapter (37). Otherwise, I am obsessed with this book. Rounding up, obviously. I predicted a good chunk of the twists and still couldn’t get enough. This might be a favorite of mine. Full rtc!!!

Thank you SO much, Random House Children's Books | Delacorte Press, for sending me this ARC. The most beautiful cover and what a fascinating plot!

The expected publication date is 3 February 2026.

As always, all thoughts are my own. 💕💫

Really loved this regency flair romantasy with magic and intrigue. I enjoyed the chemistry between Wren and Damien as they tried to figure out what was going on in their city. The use of magical gifts and fates was really a fun and unique aspect of the story. I loved that the whole time you are left guessing about the mystery of the city that you don’t even realize is a thing at the start. The way the story unravels as you read is really fun and clues are interspersed throughout. It feels like you are discovering everything along the way with the characters which makes it feel like a really fun adventure. The way the whole story unveils really was a pleasure and I enjoyed being along for the ride. I can’t wait to read the next book !!!

Soooo fates and magic and enemies to lovers ? You had me at the word fates. Is it just me who LOVES fate/god romantasies ? They’re always so interesting with really intricate magic systems. In this book, the 4 fates choose people to receive magical gifts that give them abilities, but here’s the catch. The gifts, which are always delivered at midnight on the recipient's 18th birthday, can be stolen. Anddd that's what happens to Wren Hayes. No one in her family has ever not gotten a gift. Until her. She’s the daughter of a rich noble ruling the city, and he’s a thief and an assassin.

Okay but the BANTER in this book ? Omigosh Wren and Damien are SO CUTE, and I always have a soft spot for a GrumpyXsunshine trope (quite literally, he calls her sunshine).

⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ Damien ⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

He’s such a misunderstood character 😔. He’s honestly a really good person, just forced into terrible circumstances 😭. MY MAN DID NOT DESERVE THAT KATHERINE APOLOGISE RIGHT THIS MINUTE. But it is SO FUNNY to see him deny his feelings for Wren when he’s about as subtle as a neon glowing sign 😭. It’s even funnier when he keeps telling himself he’ll get over it because WE ALL KNOW THAT'S NOT HAPPENING.

˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ “I wish you knew the real m-me,’ he said, his nose grazing mine. ‘But then I…I would dull your shine.” ˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥

SOOOO MY HEART JUST CRACKED CLEAN IN HALF. WAS THIS REALLY NECESSARY KATHERINE ? REALLY ?

ੈ✩‧₊˚ “Damien. Yes sunshine ? Shut up, please.” ੈ✩‧₊˚

HAHAHAHA THEY’RE SO ICONIC. THEIR CHEMISTRY IS OFF THE CHARTS TOO, WHY DON’T I HAVE THIS MUCH CHEMISTRY WITH SOMEONE ? Life is so unfair I do not like real life 😔. I’m so single it’s not even funny 😭

˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ Wren ˚୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆

She’s such a sweetheart 🥹 her shitbag of a father DOESN’T deserve her. I can totally understand why Damien thought she was a stuck up, selfish noble, but she’s just been manipulated by her father her whole life. And her mother is so completely USELESS IT PISSES ME OFF SO BAD. PULL YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND SEE THAT YOUR HUSBAND IS AN EVIL PIECE OF SHIT. WHY IS HER ENTIRE FAMILY HORRIBLE ? I swear, can we get ONE book where the character’s families aren’t dead, dying or evil ? IS IT REALLY THAT NECESSARY FOR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT ???? So, I thought I’d predicted the ending, I could tell where it was going BUT NO. THE PLOT TWIST ??? THE CLIFF HANGER??? KATHERINE QUINN YOU OWE ME FOR THIS. I’M NOT GOING TO SAY ANYTHING BECAUSE SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY, BUT LETS JUST SAY I WILL BE THROWING HANDS

ੈ✩‧₊˚ Preread ~ Thank you to netgalley and random house children's books for giving me an e-arc for an honest review ! Fates, magic and romance ? Okay you can stop talking now. I'll take it. Also, this cover is actually gorgeous wtf.

Idk what kind of crack was in this book, but I was HOOKED and flipping the pages!

From the epigraphs, to the main characters’ dynamic, to the Fates and magic, and the betrayal and twists…this was exactly what I wanted in a fantasy romance! (minor things that were personal preference that made me not give it a full 5, but so so close!)

There were parts of this story that called out societal issues that could be paralleled to our own world, and I felt them so deeply. The class issues, complicated family dynamics, abuse of power, the patriarchal society, etc. They added layers to this fantasy romance that made you look beyond the love.

My jaw DROPPED at the end because that was NOT what I was theorizing to have happen, and I have no idea how I’m supposed to wait for book 2?! CRIMINAL.

This book will be published 2/3/26! Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House Books/Delacorte Press for an e-ARC of this book! 🤩💕

Stolen Midnights really impressed me with its sharp social commentary on wealth, privilege, and the ways society exploits the vulnerable in order to keep the rich in power. . Wren, the snarky and strong FMC, delivers one of the most powerful lines in the book:

“I’m sorry because I allowed myself to be blind when I had the choice to do otherwise. I’m sorry for being a part of a society that uses people when they’re desperate. That forces them to remain desperate. Afraid. Hungry.”

Damien, the MMC, is chaotic and complicated in all the right ways, bringing a messy charm that balances Wren’s strength and makes their dynamic one to smile at. I loved the world building and character development throughout the story as well.

first off, i would like to thank Katherine Quinn, NetGalley, and Random House Publishing for this advanced reader’s copy!

this book started out with a bang, and did not disappoint me once! the characters were great, the story was intriguing, it was a fast-paced read, and the world building made me feel like i was in Andalay right beside Wren and Damien🫶🏻

this story is about a girl who was meant to receive a gift from the Fates, but on the night of her 18th birthday, that gift is stolen before she ever receives it. in order to get it back, she enlists the help of a charming but dangerous boy who just so happens to be a thief himself. and along the way, they uncover shocking secrets that will leave them different than before… and try not to fall in love while their worlds fall apart.

i absolutely adored Wren’s character from the start; naive she might be, but a pushover she is not! she dresses to please herself instead of society and doesn’t really care what the other nobility thinks of her. she’s headstrong and learns to fight for what she thinks is right; i simply love her💕 and as for Damien, he’s definitely more than the gruff thief who only cares for himself that he appears to be. these two made a great duo, and i absolutely can’t wait for more of them!

also, that ending? my jaw hit the floor more than once!!😱 i definitely didn’t see it coming, and i absolutely need the next book to find out what will happen!!

overall this was a fantastic read, and i’m so greatful to have had the chance to read and review it early! this book releases on February 3rd of 2026, so add it to your tbrs asap!

I'm a little torn about how to review this one, so I'll tell you how it made me feel as I went along. At the very beginning, the concept of her having her gift stolen was a little hard for me to read because it was so awful and sad. So, I read a tiny bit at a time trying to decide if I was going to finish. But once I got to the 40% or so mark suddenly, I got sucked in. I was riveted and started turning pages a lot faster. It's like I had to get over that hump of society doing things that made me sad. Therefore, the portion of me that recommends this book does so because it's very compelling. You start to want to know what happens to these good-chemistry characters. There is a fine balance between having spice and YA. I think this is slightly too much spice for YA but not enough to be new adult. It's in the middle. Unfortunately, without details, as I got to the 90% or so portion of the book, I began to get the sense that not enough was being resolved. Sure enough, cliffhanger city. Don't get me wrong, there is a delicate balance in series books. The author can't tie everything in a bow because there's going to be a book 2. But the readers want a significant portion tied up. Enough ties to feel satisfying. Did this meet the satisfying ending mark? There were twists which were satisfying, but ultimately, I personally come down on cliffhanger side rather than the satisfied side. I noticed one other review calling the ending "brutal" in terms of cliffhanger. So, I took off a star for that. Where did we lose the second star? Realism. I can't believe that I'm going to be the person that says "realism" in a fantasy book review. But I read mostly fantasy and while the rules can be magical and different, they have to be believable. I felt that this had a few too many places where I couldn't suspend disbelief enough. Again, no spoilers, but with sufficient vagueness let's just say that the most major loss of belief was the medical anatomy aspect. These aren't aliens or fae or elves. They're people like us. So, I expect that anatomy to be similar and you can't just wave away a major injury with a superficial patch job without at least waving a magic artifact. End result: I mostly enjoyed reading this and I'm not sorry I picked it up. Therefore 3 stars.

OKAY, I need book two asap.

I was intrigued by the description and this book more than delivered. I was immediately swept away into a world with regency vibes, fates, and magical objects. What more could you ask for? Maybe tension so thick you could cut it with a letter opener.

In a society where the privileged receive magical gifts upon their 18th birthday, Wren is shocked to be left empty handed. Little does she know a thief, Damien, stole her gift before it could arrive to her door. Their intertwined story follows Wren as she searches for the truth and Damien deals with the consequences of his actions.

There were a few twists I didn’t expect, especially since I didn’t realize this would be a series! Again, I need book two now. Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children’s Books for granting me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to Netgalley and Delacorte for the eARC of this book!

I have now read a few books from Katherine Quinn. Her writing style is mostly very easy. It’s not frilly and also not bland. However, this book was so long-winded. There was so much repetition in the characters’ thoughts that I was skipping huge chunks of them because they’d talk about how they liked the other for two whole pages when they JUST did that the previous pov chapter. 😐 It was excessive! This book could have been cut down easily by dropping a lot of their repetitive thinking.

My other qualm with this book was that not much actually happened. ☠️ I feel like this is another duology and honestly… it feels like it could have just been a singular book had we gotten less repetition and more action. Also the banter was not great - it was also very excessive. I also didn’t really enjoy the scenes where the two just started making out in dire situations. 🤦‍♀️ Keep it in your pants guys.

Add in a bad “I’m keeping this secret from you” plot and some very obvious plot twists… and it just wasn’t a great book. It was not BAD though either. It was one word: Forgettable. It’s very basic, at its core. And if you’ve read any other KQ book…. Sorry this is almost the same thing. 🤷‍♀️ It doesn’t vary much from TKaS at ALL. I can line up scenes/characters that coincide perfectly in these two books.

I do think Quinn is a decent writer and I really enjoyed TKaS… but this one just felt like a let down. I think she’s dropped from an auto-buy author to just one I will read maybe from the library when a new book drops.

I’d only recommend this to readers who want a very basic “two teens from different sides of the economic divide coming together to fight the evil aristocracy” plot with some magic thrown in. The book tries to also have a feminist undertone but honestly it falls very flat because it’s told to the reader (multiple times) instead of shown. Had Quinn focused more heavily on that sexual prejudice, I think the story would have benefitted.

First and foremost I’d like thank the amazing folks at NetGalley & Random House publishing for the amazing opportunity of reading this book before its February release date. I am honored and my review is a honest reflection of my feelings towards this book.
This book was a pleasant surprise of a book that winded up being one of my favorite books I’ve read this year. Katherine is an author that I have followed for a while now after I loved her book, To Kill a Shadow.
We meet Wren, a girl who lives in a world that on your 18th birthday you receive a gifted item who’s gifts can range in usability big or small but when her gift doesn’t come she fears she is one of those who is deemed unworthy of one. Unknown to her she had a gift but on its way to her it’s stolen my a thief named Damien. A boy who when he gets her gift, a locket, he is startled to find his picture on inside.
And so sets the stage for a romance between a thief and an upper class girl. Secrets are revealed and the structure of their world is being rewritten. For the good? Nope. This couple is at the core of a power game that will either destroy their love or make it stronger.
I love love loved the banter of Damien and Wren, probably my favorite part outside the gift system that had me intrigued. This book revived a waning interest in YA and I would absolutely recommend this book to lovers of romance, banter and a world that will have you intrigued.

Once again, Quinn has left me SCREAMING because I didn't know this was the start to a duology 😭 As always, I've fallen for the world she has built, the characters she gave us, and the story between them. My mind is blown 🤯

Wow was this book amazing. This book has everything you could want in a YA romantasy. It has action, excellent banter, secrets, lies, betrayal, romance, historical romance feels, and the best characters.

I freaking love Wren. She is a queen and not afraid to get her hands dirty when she knows something is wrong. She isn’t afraid to tackle a thief who stole from someone she trusted. And yet that thief turns out to be the one she can’t stop thinking about. Damian is the perfect thief. He might have robbed the wrong person, but he gained a badass partner in Wren. I love how protective he is of her and even if he is scared to admit his feelings or the secrets he has, he always comes back to her.

Thank you Katherine Quinn for ripping my heart out with those twists and betrayals. Those hurt. And I’m going to need book 2 stat.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Random House Children’s Books for providing me with an eArc of Stolen Midnights!

This was my last book of 2025, my 124th book of the year, and omg, that cliffhanger??! I was originally going to rate it four stars but the last 100 pages DEFINITELY bumped it up to five stars.

The plot is interesting. Some parts were predictable, especially around the first half. However, the main twists at the end?! I am in awe, I am angry. I can’t even possibly begin to explain how mad the ending made me without spoiling it and I obviously wouldn’t want to do that. But you know it’s a good book when it has you seething over what they do to the character(s).

We know that we’re suckers for our book men, and when they say something like this, “You, Wren Hayes, are the only magic I will bow down to. The only gift I covet. I'm lucky you see me, too.” Excuse me?! Instant swoon! But Wren too!! “I want you. Even when you infuriated me, I wanted you.” Like, okay wren?! And guys?! She called him a cocky bastard one time too! “‘I wasn’t admiring you, you cocky bastard,’ I said far too quickly, though we both knew it was a lie. ‘I was analyzing your wound.’” If you know me, you know how much of a powerless fan I am. Paedyn always calls Kai a cocky bastard, and to see Wren do the same? Kicking my feet!

There was definitely *some* suggestive content towards the end, not too much, and I wouldn’t call it explicit. I think if you only read YA then you would be fine reading this! And I definitely recommend it. I can’t wait to get my physical copy because it’s actually so stunning. Especially the edges?! Ending 2025 on a high note with this book!

4.5 star rounded up!

Stolen Midnights transports us to a world where three deities bless humans with magical gifts that bring them success in careers, wealth, privilege, and esteem. When Wren does not receive her gift on her 18th birthday, she sets off to discover why. Partnering with a thief, Damien, the unlikely pair uncover a bigger conspiracy that involves the elite households and disappearing inhabitants of the Void.

This book had me from the dedication page! "To the dreamers, the rebels, and the revolutionaries in pink....rise up."

I loved the female Empowerment that was represented in this book. Women supporting women, women knowing their worth, and women standing up to society's expectations. The representation of an older generation of men upholding the antiquated role of women, and the newest generation of men supporting independent, free-thinking women was beautifully done.

There is a great deal of banter between the FMC and MMC that is fun, and even comedic at times. The slow-burn romance is perfect.

There are twists at the end that definitely leave the reader hanging off of a cliff - so I'm looking forward to the next book!

Read Stolen Midnights if you like...

ARC REVIEW:
Thank you NetGalley for this opportunity!
The theme and story were so addicting that it felt like a 5 star read for me. Damien and Wren are from vastly different parts of town but have to unite for the same mission. If only Wren knew Damien was holding onto more secrets than he let on 😭

Stolen Midnights had me absolutely spellbound! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is sure to be one of my favorite 2026 reads.

A stolen, magical gift. A mystery in need of unraveling. Lavish parties and balls. A swoonworthy thief. A dash of whimsy. Do you still need convincing to bump this to the top of your TBR list?

This book is truly a MUST READ for fans of Caraval or The Rose Bargain.

I can’t help but wish that I could be transported straight into Andalay. Katherine Quinn’s writing is loaded with opulent imagery, unique powers, and ball gowns that would leave any fashionista jealous. Every chapter unfolds like a dreamy escape! The world building was straightforward to follow, but still left plenty of room for fun twists. I enjoyed all the characters so much, I couldn’t possibly pick a favorite. I could go on and on about this book. But let’s face it, I knew I was going to like this book the moment I read the dedication page.

Thank you NetGalley and Random House Children’s for the ARC! I will eagerly be awaiting the sequel! 🥀

If you loved the uniqueness and magic of Stephanie Garber’s Once Upon a Broken Heart series, I highly recommend diving into Stolen Midnights by Katherine Quinn — the first book in an exciting new duology.

This book was a breath of fresh air in the fantasy genre. From the very first page, I was completely hooked — especially because the story is told from two compelling points of view. It's one of my most memorable 2025 reads so far. I finished it with my jaw on the floor, overwhelmed by emotions, and buzzing with questions (in the best way possible).

Non-Spoiler Book Summary
In Aurilian society, it's tradition for young adults to receive a magical “gift” from the Fates on their 18th birthday — a magical object that grants them unique powers. Wren Hayes comes from a family where everyone has received their gift. But when hers never arrives, she sets off on a journey to discover what happened.

What she doesn't know is that her gift was stolen — by Damien, a mysterious thief raised in Andalay’s orphan system. Hired to take the gift before Wren ever received it, Damien assumes it’s just another job... until curiosity gets the better of him and he opens the locket meant for Wren — only to find his picture inside.

Wren and Damien’s stories intertwine in a way that’s thrilling, romantic, and completely captivating. As the mystery unfolds, readers are drawn deeper into questions surrounding the Fates and why certain families are mysteriously being left without them.

Reviewer's Overall Thoughts:
• I didn’t realize going in that this was the first in a duology, so the ending caught me completely off guard — in the best possible way. It gave me the same heart-pounding, cliffhanger energy of an SJM finale: packed with twists, reveals, and emotion.
• Quinn masterfully balanced the dual POVs. Often in dual narratives, one voice overshadows the other, but here, both Wren and Damien’s perspectives were equally engaging and well-developed.
• I’m desperate for book two! This story has everything I love in a fantasy: mystery, romance, world-building, and complex characters. I’ll absolutely be keeping an eye out for the sequel’s release — and I’m definitely hoping to get my hands on an early copy!

Thank you to Delacorte Press and NetGalley for this advance ready copy and the opportunity to submit a review.

Stolen Midnights quickly became one of my all-time favorite romantasies. I devoured every word and found myself thinking about the story long after I had to put the book down. Now I’m impatiently awaiting the sequel—I need to know what happens next!

The story introduces a fascinating world where, at midnight on their 18th birthday, those of high social standing receive a magical gift from the Fates—Day, Dawn, or Dusk. But when Wren’s birthday arrives, her gift never comes. While not unheard of, it’s considered rare and deeply shameful, leaving Wren and her family devastated.

What Wren doesn’t know is that across the city, a thief named Damian has stolen her gift, adding it to the list of magical items he’s been tasked with stealing. When Wren seeks answers from Dusk and discovers her missing, she sets off on a desperate search to reclaim what was stolen, uncovering a hidden world beneath her polished society—with Damian, of all people, at her side.

The characters are what make this book shine. Wren, Damian, Callie, Everette, and Grayson are so vividly written they feel like real people, each with their own flaws, struggles, and desires. I was initially worried I wouldn’t connect with Wren, but it quickly became clear her fear wasn’t about losing her gift itself—it was about the shame and rejection she’d face in a society that values magic above all else. Watching her grow, fight for others, and fall for Damian—despite knowing he could never be accepted in her world—was one of the most rewarding parts of the story.

Stolen Midnights is an addictive blend of magic, romance, and intrigue that completely swept me away. If you love character-driven romantasy with high stakes and heartfelt connections, this is one you don’t want to miss.

Magic, mystery and a romance you’ll find yourself falling for. Stolen Midnights is a YA Romantasy that you won’t be able to put down.

Magic is bestowed on individuals through items gifted by the fates on someone’s eighteenth birthday. Wren finds herself devastated when hers doesn’t show up. What commences is a story filled with romance, a partnership to find stolen items and new revelations.

I absolutely adored this story. Wren and Damian are chaotic and so much fun. Wren will take absolutely nothing from no one and she will get anything she needs done. Damian is a no nonsense thief who cares about no one… until he does. I just loved their banter and bickering. The romance is a big part of this book but the plot pairs perfectly with it.

Speaking of the plot, it was so good! I actually requested this before I even realized it had the murder mystery plot. I just thought it would be a sweet magical story but what we get is so much more! The class division, the mysterious circumstances regarding people disappearing and the lore around the fates. It’s just such a good story that I found myself up late fighting sleep to read one more chapter and see how the mystery would unravel. There are plenty of twists along the way. I don’t know how I’ll be able to wait for the next book after that ending!!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children’s Books Delacorte Press for the opportunity to read this book. All opinions are my own.

The writing was so good, I was gripped from page one and did not put the book down. I finished it in 24 hours. The writing is so clean, captivating and descriptive. I love how sweet and innocent the romance is, not too much, done very tastefully. There are moments of yearning, thrill suspense, heartbreak, mystery, intrigue all in one book. One of the chapters had me downright scared. I was able to picture everything part of the town they were in while reading. Looking forward to getting my physical copy to see the map to better to put all the pieces together. There are some major plot twists and I feel like the book ended off with the biggest one yet. So looking forward to reading more from this amazing author.

What a great new entry into the Romantasy world. The fates grant the upper class gifts in their 18th birthdays that give them a magical talent. Wren is heartbroken when she doesn’t receive hers on her birthday. Damien is a thief, hired to steal Wren’s gift as it’s being delivered. Damien is from the wrong side of town and loathes the upper elite. But when their paths cross, their undeniable attraction to each other is hard to fight as they unravel a huge conspiracy while searching for Wren’s gift.

I absolutely cannot wait for the sequel, the ending is such a cliffhanger!

If you like magic and Romantasy’s, this book is for you. The characters are delightful and the story keeps you hooked.

You WANT this book. You NEED this book.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Stolen Midnights by Katherine Quinn is set to release on February 3rd, 2026. And I’m going to hibernate until book 2 is released. Because of ✨that✨ cliffhanger!! By chapter 2, I was sold on the whole book. The gasp I gasped. Book Gods… give me patience.

Stolen Midnights follows Wren and Damien. Wren is anxiously waiting for her magical 18th birthday gift. It is selected for her by the Fates themselves. But when the clock strikes midnight… Wren is without a gift 💔
Wren feels like something must of gone wrong, she’s done everything right. There’s no way she could’ve been forgotten.
✨✨✨
Damien is a handsome, up-to-no good thief.
(gives Flynn Ryder vibes 🥰).
He is hired to steal Wren’s precious gift.
But what he doesn’t know is that Wren’s gift is intertwined with his future.
✨magical romantasy
✨family drama/secrets
✨gifts from powerful fates
✨found family
✨upper-class politics
✨lots of twists and secrets

I am definitely going to push Stolen Midnights for my local book club 💕🔥

Thank you, @netgalley for the opportunity to read this in advance.

I was lucky enough to be able to read this book early as an ARC, and I feel extremely fortunate right now! This was absolutely fantastic! I was immediately drawn into the story. It is fast paced, has great depth of character for both the FMC and MMC, a complicated storyline, a unique magic system, unrequited love, a strong fiery independent FMC, mystery and betrayal, dark and devious deeds and a well done forbidden love story. I am 100% completely sold on this series, and already can’t wait for the next one! This does end on a pretty big cliff hanger, so be aware of that, (for my fellow bookies who like to know those things going in), BUT it’s absolutely worth reading now because this story is truly fantastic!

Special thanks to NetGalley, Katherine Quinn, Random House Children’s books and Delacorte Press for giving me an advanced reading copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wow. Absolutely incredible. Could not put this book down. I did not see that twist coming at the end. I need the next book now. How am I going to wait to see what happens to Wren?!

I enjoyed the parallels between the book and our society. How those born with can often ignore the struggles of those born without. But they don’t have to stay ignorant and they shouldn’t. While Wren was born into wealth she’s thrusted into chaos after not receiving her much anticipated magical gift. This chaos causes her to team up with someone born without, Damien. The way they learn to see the world through each other’s eyes and grapple with prejudices is beautiful.

Next to no spice. Only one scene and it’s not descriptive. This in no way takes away from the story. Only mentioning because I know people like to know spice scales.
