2.5 stars!

The premise reminded me a bit about Match Me If You Can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. It almost has the same set up: A powerful rich guy hires a matchmaker to find him a wife that he thinks he needs. Of course, as the book progresses, we all know that it's the matchmaker herself who is the perfect match for our hero. Unfortunately, I didn't quite love this one as much as I loved Match Me If You Can.

I liked Andrea Dawson. She was fun, quirky, a bit irresponsible and impulsive. I know, I know, but that one particular flaw was something that endeared her to me as a reader as well as her knack for reading people. I especially enjoyed her interaction with her younger and more responsible sister Lacey. Their banter was the best thing in the book for me.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Blake Donovan. I usually like closed off and assholish heroes but Blake didn't do it for me. I couldn't relate to his angst. As I'm writing this review, I'm trying to remember what exactly made him act like a douche but I couldn't remember. The authors did try to make him more sensitive by making him a closet Downton Abbey fan who also likes arcade games, but I never did warm up to him.

Humor plays a big part in the story as well. Miss Match, while funny in parts, didn't quite live up to that humor part. Don't get me wrong, like I said, there were some hilarious parts. But some scenes were head-scratchers. Maybe I just missed the joke but it just fell flat to me. The humor was too uneven. Some of the jokes felt off and cringe-worthy. And not funny at all.

Still I was ready to give this 3 stars but the end pissed me off. It's a personal bias so I know that most readers wouldn't be bothered with it the same way I was but I've come to loathe the whole BIG MISUNDERSTANDING plot device as a final climax/conflict in a book. I could handle it at the beginning where both parties can learn from it and we see them avoid the same trap along the way. But nope. It was towards the end and it annoyed me because flouncing was involved. She flounced and he also flounced. Grrr. I wanted to flounce myself but it was already near the end so I finished it. Like I said, it's something that I personally just don't like in my books. I'm sure most readers won't find any problem with it.

There are so many things I loved about this book. Blake and Andy knew how to push each others buttons and antagonize each other. The chemistry between these two was fantastic. I loved that this was dual POV because both Blake and Andy had such funny thoughts and I loved the banter between these characters. Andy was a strong heroine and I love that she stood up to Blake and wasn't intimidated by him. This was a really sweet and sexy romance and I loved it!

You all know by now how much I love Hudson Pierce. Never a "book boyfriend" has ever changed his status for me, even after 300+ books I've read.
So when I learnt Laurelin Paige prepared a new book and even if it was co-written, I was game.

Andrea is a sparkling woman without a job. She lives with her sister but they both begin to struggle. After her sister convinced her to apply for a personal concierge post, Andrea finds herself in front of the most selfish and self-interested guy I've ever met: Blake Donovan.

This guy was probably the biggest jerk I've read about.
He's an handsome, very well educated man who built an empire from scratch.
He's very successful with woman but he never found the right one. After several poor experiences, he decides to hire someone to find his match. Because Blake Donovan is not looking for love, nor for a one-night stand, he's looking for a wife.

description

When I say he's a total jerk, it's because of the way he talks about women, like they are an object.
For him, marriage is considered as a business deal. He only needs someone who will be there for him after his work, wo can accompany him on social event, who will take care of his home,...

During most of my read I had a little angel and demon on my shoulders. For the most part I laugh a lot.
Blake's convictions are so ridiculous, it's funny but at time, it's too much.
Andrea was a comprehensive character. She is not afraid to tell what she thinks and she knows that what her job entails is practically impossible to achieve.

The interactions between both parties were quite good and I really enjoyed their time together. Andrea is challenging while Blake begins to see things differently.
My major and biggest problem was the lack of personal development for Blake. He seems to be this way for specific reasons that are never address.

description

If you are looking for something fun, not too complicated with a little steam in the mix, Miss Match will work for you ;)

3.5!!

"She was nothing he'd expected he'd ever be attached to and yet he was more into her than anything he could imagine"

Love really do come in unexpected time. You don't look for it, it finds you! And Blake and Andy is a living testament to that. Okay, fictional testament.

Blake is looking for a wife and what is Blake is searching for is everything Andy is not. And yet, when these two had a moment, sparks happened and try as they might, they can't ignore it! I love how from the moment they met, the chemistry between the two characters can already be felt. I was grinning ear to ear because of their banter and without hesitation, McGee already made me root for them. Its from that moment that I figured it out, if these two doesn't end up together... I'm gonna cut someone and then cry a river.

I'm instantly hooked the moment I read how broke Andy is. Andrea or Andy or Drea is wonderful heroine. She's witty, she acts her age and she's that kind of woman who knows how to make a guy work for it. Its refreshing to read a voice of a woman who actually DO what's on her mind. She knows what she wants, she decides, and she stands firm in that decision. Don't you just love heroines who doesn't complicate her life even more?

Now, Blake on the other hand is a different story. It took me awhile to warm up to him and not just because he acts like an ass most of the time, but because he's the one who's making the complications! We actually get POV's him in here too and thank you Laurelin McGee for that. I understood Blake even more and yes, I sympathized. Its actually kinda sad. I wanted more of a backstory for him though.

Miss Match is really a must read for every Romance reader. You'll inhale this one up. If you're looking for a smart and sexy novel that will keep you on your toes till the very end, Miss Match is for you. Friday night, this book and a snack. You're all set!

Miss Match reminds me of those funny romcom movies with a jackass hero and a down on her luck quirky heroine.

Blake Donovan, a narcissist, control freak and misogynist pig of a millionaire is looking for a wife. And he hired someone to search the perfect bride for him.

Andrea Dawson, a woman with the worst luck in finding a job after leaving her last sleazy boss. I'm fascinated with Andrea's special skills in reading people, which make her such an asset to her last boss and currently to Blake.

Andrea hates that she drop so low as to accept the job offer, but what choice does she has? However, even if Andrea scouting for suitable dates was successful, she still had one very huge problem: How would she make Blake Donovan suitable for dating?

Because the MAN himself is horrible and he portrayed himself as one of the most boring guy on earth. He said he only listen to NPR, BBC and classical music. He hates pet and he works all the damn time. Though, he can be incredibly sexy as long as his mouth was closed.

When I started on Miss Match, I need some time to warm up to the Andrea because her sense of humor is all over the place, like I can't get a read on her character. But once I get to know her better I'm intrigue with her skill and her past employment that lead to her being jobless for months.

As for the douche Blake Donovan, what can I say, jackass usually fascinate me. He is so overbearing and a total pig towards woman in general. I can't wait to see Andrea bring him to his knees. I like the little things about him that was reveal later on. I also wanted to know what make him this way and why he wanted to make himself look so stuffy and unreachable. Their initial get-to-know each other was hilarious even though I wanted to punch Blake every single time he talk.

However, I'm disappointed that I didn't get to really learn about Blake's history. His childhood was mentioned in a few sentence. For him to be such a pig, I need more information to make me sympathize with him. So although I don't hate his character, I don't feel like I love him all that much. I enjoyed their bickering in the beginning, but towards the end it gets a tad juvenile.

The ending was also too abrupt for my liking. It usually works for a 2 hr movie, but for a book that I spent an entire day to read, I need more romance and lovey dovey scene before the final HEA. To me, Blake and Dawson spent an entire book in the hate/lust bubble and then wham-bam HEA.

So what happens when a successful IT-executive owner takes up on ad for an assistant that is required to help him narrow down the search for his "ideal wife"? You would think an attractive and powerful man wouldn't need to take up an ad to help him but as it turns out Blake Donovan needed Andrea Dawson to play matchmaker. So begins the hunt for the perfect wife?

"He never tell her the real truth-that she intrigued him and beguiled him and he couldn't imagine letting her walk out the door, never to be seen again."

Miss Match by Laurelin McGee was a witty, entertaining, and funny read filled with lots of banter, passion, and a quirky romantic-comedy tale of finding the right match in today's modern world of dating. Blake Donovan is not your everyday millionaire bachelor, he's attractive and successful but he's also arrogant, pompous, and domineering. When Blake tells Andrea Dawson what his requirements are for in a wife, he listed out to her that he's looking for someone that is quiet, attractive, and who will be satisfied being a homemaker to fulfill his needs and wants. Basically, he is in search of a submissive wife and Miss Matchmaker, Andrea will help him find the one. So can Andrea find his match? Or will she finding herself to be the perfect match for Blake Donovan?

#missMatch1

I did enjoy this book though I might say that I loved Andrea's character more than Blake's. Personally, I thought the authors did an excellent job showcasing how strong, funny, and charming Andrea is but felt Blake's character needed to be explored more especially with his past. I think if the authors allowed readers to understand Blake's past and why he acts the way he does, will allow readers to see more sides to his character. But overall, I thought the authors did a great job intertwining humor, sexual tension, banter and romance into this book. So if you are looking for a fun romantic comedy read, then Miss Match might be for you.

OK, I want to be completely honest. I read the synopsis for this book and I was less than thrilled. It just did not sound that great to me. It felt like it had been done before and I am finding myself kind of sick of sexy rich men. But this book, totally smacked me in the face and was all like "You are wrong, Amie. I am awesome, amazing, sexy, and totally hilarious." And that it was. I loved this book. I loved Blake and Andrea. I loved their fights, their hysterics, and their attraction.
Andrea has a special talent. She is fabulous at reading people, what their talents are, their weaknesses, what kind of people they are in general. And she is looking for a job and it is imperative that she find one asap. Her sister sets her up for an interview that changes her life forever.

Blake Donovan is looking for a wife. Preferably submissive, bone thin, and a home maker. Andrea has agreed to help him find one. Meet Miss Matchmaker.

Andrea and Blake were just so ridiculous. They made me laugh non stop. Blake was not your typical rich alpha. He is quirky and different and kind of shy and reserved in the sweetest of ways. Andrea was kind of goofball, outgoing, and curvy. Pretty much everything that Blake does not want in a wife. Then why does he find himself so incredibly attracted to her?

There were a million things that I liked about this book but the sexual tension had to be the very best of all of these. You can just feel it building and you keep waiting and waiting and when they finally take things further it pays off in such a big way. I do love a good romance novel that can give you plenty of sexual tension and this one delivers in a big way. I also thought the writing was especially good. It was witty, sexy, and the story itself was spectacular. I found myself laughing out loud on multiple occasions at these two ridiculous people denying their attraction to one another. Just a fabulous book! I really cannot wait for more from these two authors!

OK, so I gotta say this .... When I read the blurb to this book, the first thing that popped in my head was Susan Elizabeth Phillips's Match Me If You Can! And it's because of THAT that I decided to give this a try, because I love the concept of the story.

And I'm SOOOOooooo glad that I did!!! ***eeeekkkkkk*** This was REALLY cute! LOL

So the story goes like this: Blake Donovan needs a wife, but he's a busy man so he needs someone to find that wife for him. Andrea Dawson is currently unemployed and desperate enough to answer a job ad on Craig's List. A job as a matchmaker! A job posted by our very own Blake.

These two were hilarious and fun to read! Obviously I don't need to give you details about the story for you to figure out what it's about, but I will say the story is sexy, romantic, fun and entertaining with awesome lead characters that are perfectly matched lol! I love their banter and sass and overall interaction.

READ THIS BOOK .... it will put a smile on your face! Guaranteed!

You can't help but fall in love with Miss Match, Laurelin Paige and Kayti's first co-authored book under Laurelin McGee, a masterfully-written masterpiece and must-read that's oh-so-sweet, cute, quirky, funny, and witty. Miss Match is raw, riveting, and realistic romance--a breath of fresh air. This captivating tale of finding the perfect mate or match will capture your heart.

This story is sprinkled with the characters' inner thoughts that provide such insight that you feel the characters are sitting right beside you relaying their story. Add a couple more friends, and you could have a TV series that rivals the fabulous Sex in the City HBO series. Miss Match is a story about hope, love, and searching for perfection but realizing that imperfectly perfect is preferred and way more pleasing. The female lead, Andrea, is feisty and the male lead, is controlled--a lethal combination--but perhaps the perfect match. Miss Match is a book match made in heaven for sure.

Beautiful, curvy, blunt, and smart Andrea 'Andy' (her nickname) or 'Drea' (what Blake calls her) Dawson is hired to be arrogant, hot, tall, and successful billionaire Blake Donovan's matchmaker. He is ready to settle down and is done with trying to find her perfect match on his own---a particular type of woman who is the total opposite of Andrea. The problem is that there is some combustible chemistry happening with his employee that he can't shake or stop.

"There was something else about Drea. Something he couldn't quite put his finger on. Her brash approach was usually a turnoff in an employee. Perhaps it was that she'd turned him down--no one said no to Blake Donovan, after all. It couldn't be that, though--he sensed the something before that. He senses...a connection...and understanding that few people had of him. It was both terrifying and thrilling. He had to explore it further."

Andrea vows to not mix business with pleasure. Stay focused on the job. Don't lose herself in Mr. those alluring blue eyes, that smooth and sexy voice, and that hot body that radiates electricity when her body is near his. Don't get played by the player. Easier said than done.

"With one easy tug, Blake pulled Andrea to him. He encircled her waist with his free arm and pressed his lips to hers...His heartbeat sped up and his entire body hummed as she melted into him like ice cream on a hot day. The feeling of her soft lips on his, parting slightly as he nudged his tongue against hers, made everything else in the world go away. She tasted like the first day of autumn--clean and cool and refreshing."

A heated and sexually tense moment turns into more. More than either wanted or bargained for when the line is crossed between business and pleasure. Andrea doesn't want to fall for her hot but arrogant boss and heck if she is his match on paper either. Plus she's feisty and won't let him control her or the situation. She's not part of Blake's plan.

"She didn't even like the man. Her body simply kept reacting to an unfortunate encounter they'd had nearly thirty-six hours ago. It was physiological, that was all. It meant nothing. She was supposed to be finding a match for Blake Donovan, not daydreaming about being his match."

Things have gotten complicated. Lines are blurred between employee and boss, and matchmaker and match. Self doubts and a misunderstanding loom in a cloud of darkness over Andrea and Blake. Maybe Miss Match is the real match if only Blake ditches his model of perfection for his sassy and sexy siren of an employee--but so much more--who understands him and attracts him like no other.

Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match, but don’t bother me with the details, handle it like a business deal and schedule me to be at the church on time. Sound cold? Trust me, Miss Match by the duo who makes up the name Laurelin McGee is anything BUT cold, laugh out loud funny, yes, almost grab the tissues sad or cute, definitely, sassy, quirky and fun, check, check and check!

The picture of hotness on the outside, but a damaged and frozen wasteland on the inside, business mogul Blake Donovan wants the perfect partner, a cutout of perfection, sans the attitude and feistiness of the woman he hired to find his perfect mate. Andrea is desperate for a job and even though Mr. Freeze looks to be hard to please, she never backs down from a challenge. But has she done her job too well? Has she begun to defrost Blake’s frozen heart only to discover HER perfect match? He is everything she rails against; she is the opposite of what he wants in every way. Get ready to rumble as these two square off in the arena of love and winner takes all!

Two authors, two styles, all blended into one hot and hysterical read that is the perfect beachside must read! From quirky characters to an impossible not to love plot, once we are all settled in with the basics, we are jettisoned into a romantic tug of war, sizzling attraction that only gets hotter as it is denied and a few twists will have you almost in tears, either from laughing or having your heartstrings yanked on. I read to be entertained on as many levels as possible and Miss Match took me up the elevator to the penthouse suite with entertainment!

I love Laurelin Paige's work so reading this new collaboration with Katyi McGee was a given. I couldn't wait to start "Miss Match" and just as I thought, I was not disappointed. As soon as I realised what it was all about I became excited about what was to come and I was interested to see how the story would play out. I just knew that this was a book that I would love. It was sweet, funny and extremely sexy and it was well worth the read.

Blake Donovan, on first impression, was a stern, arrogant and pompous man. He didn't believe in love, but he wanted a wife purely to satisfy both his business and sexual needs. Essentially, all he wanted was some eye candy for his arm. Of course, I was a little put off by Blake yet at the same time I had hope that my feelings for him would change with the continuation of the story. Thankfully, I soon discovered that Blake had some good qualities just waiting to emerge, he just needed a little encouragement to show everyone how lovely he truly was. By the end of the story, I had fallen hard for Blake. It was impossible not to.
I am in love with Andrea Dawson. Completely, utterly, undeniably in love.
I loved Andrea's character. She was fun, strong and feisty. The complete opposite of Blake. When Andrea first met Blake there was an initial attraction towards him but once she realised what a cold and pretentious man he was, she soon changed her mind. However the more time Andrea spent with Blake, the more she got to see the real man, and the attraction towards her boss bloomed.
Was she Blake Donovan's match? She'd been into him, consumed with him, but she'd never quite believed that they were actually good together. Not long term. But maybe they were.
I adored watching Andrea and Blake's relationship change throughout this story. Andrea had turned Blake's world upside down. He was suddenly re-thinking his idea of the perfect woman and he found that Andrea was increasingly becoming the girl for him with each day they spent together. Once cupid had struck his bow in this couple's direction there was no escaping the L word . Andrea and Blake turned out to be the perfect match. They made a great couple and the sex between the pair was smokin' hot!! Who knew that the conceited CEO could turn out to be such a sexy guy!
"You're lips are heaven on my cock, but keep doing that, and I'm going to come. And I already made a reservation in your pussy that I intend to keep."

Although Andrea and Blake were perfect for one another there were still a few upsets in their relationship. During the last part of the book, I found myself franticly tearing through the pages to find out what would happen between the couple. Something happened that made my tummy do somersaults and my palms to sweat. I was so worried about the outcome of the story. I really wanted Andrea and Blake to get their fairytale ending and if they didn't get one, I think I would have cried! lol.
"Andy Dawson, you are everything I never knew I wanted. You are more than ideal-you're my perfect match"

I rated "Miss Match" ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤

Omg I loved this book!!

It started out kinda on the slow side but it picked up right away when Andrea meets CEO Blake. You can tell from the interview they both are attracted to each other and have a chemistry that won't be denied.

I liked Andrea a lot for a heroine. She was smart, funny and seriously outspoken. When she was in the interview and he asked her to read him she was right on point. Andrea was sent to mess up his life in a very good way that's for sure. After she turns down the job she works at a bar and Blake seeks her out because he just can't stop thinking about her. They share an explosive kiss and she agrees to let the match making begin.

I loved Blake! He was smart, successful and cocky but Andrea describes him the best. He is also sexy and in need a wife. God his views kept me laughing none stop. He might be smart but he doesn't know women and he kept sticking his foot in his mouth. For a man that never apologizes he sure does it a lot with Andrea. What first caught my attention to Blake is when she shows up for work the next day and he starts changing all the rules to keep her closer to him.

This book is full of laughs! Andrea throws shoes and he breaks her heel. She draws a line down there office in tape and steals his expensive pen. They go back and forth and yet still manage to have this sexual attraction to one another. I love when Andrea starts to sabotage his dates. I really had a good laugh at these two characters. My favorite part is when the puppy arrives it was adorable.

I liked the plot, it was unique and the writing just flowed so easily. It wasn't overly wordy and I didn't have to skim through it at all. I really hope this turns into a series and that Andreas sister lacy gets her turn in finding the love of her life.

If you are looking for a funny cute read this is a great book for you!

I don’t even know why I’m bothering to write a review of this book. The long and short of it is, THIS BOOK IS ENTIRELY TOO CUTE, AND YOU NEED TO READ IT RIGHT NOW.

Miss Match by Laurelin McGee saved my sanity. I was in a bit of a book funk, after reading a series last week that was on the heavy side. I couldn’t pick up anything new after that, I was just re-reading old favorites. This book was the perfect antidote. Sexy, sassy, and way too much fun.

The premise of this book was one I hadn’t read before, and I really enjoyed it. I could feel the sparks between Blake and Andrea right away, and I ADORED their snarky banter. Their relationship definitely followed a different path than I was expecting.

Told in dual POV (my absolute FAVE!), the tension between Andrea and Blake was just delicious. Although the surface of this book was all sizzle and sass, there were hidden depths to the characters which I loved getting a peek at. The couple is not who they’d have the other believe, not deep down, and following their journey was some of the most fun I’ve had with a book in a while.

This book is perfect for those looking for a fun, captivating read that will leave you grinning long after you’ve read it.

This was funny and with a female heroine that will have you entranced with her ballsy, no-nonsense attitude, however Blake is a totally different kettle of fish. He was an arrogant arse to begin with, seeing a wife as a necessity, a business transaction rather than being in it for love. This is about a man realising that his ideal woman is not actually the woman he wants or thinks he needs and maybe love finds itself in the most unexpected of packages. A great read. Andrea Dawson's unique talent of being able to read people like a book lands her a job as a matchmaker to an IT-executive looking for a wife. And, no matter how much of a jerkface Blake Donovan is, she needs to look past his antics and jerky attitude, she needs a job. Desperately.

Blake needs a woman because it fits into his personal 5-year plan and even though the handsome millionaire has no issues getting laid, it would be convenient to have someone to come home to, who'd automatically be his +1 at business events and galas, someone to make sure his family doesn't get their hands on his money after he's gone etc. The less personality, the better. Needless to say, Andrea will have a whole lot of work on her hands finding a wife for Blake.

What I loved about this book:

The main character
The humour and banter between the two characters
The one unexpected twist in the story

What I felt needed improvement:

The predictability

I was granted an ARC of this book via Netgalley, but I had never heard of the author before, so this fun and lighthearted read came as a really pleasant surprise to me.

I very much liked Andrea as a heroine given that she had more backbone than your usual heroine, and she definitely was a strong character. She knew how to deal with Blake from the beginning and figured him out pretty fast. And she has absolutely no issues with pointing out his misogynistic and prejudiced flaws to him at any given occasion.
"She imagined the ad headline - Wanted: Attractive, preferably Asian, woman to date sleazy bachelor and ignore his lack of humanity in exchange for an account at Nordstrom. No personality desired. Serious enquiries only."

I also very much enjoyed Blake, even if in the beginning he is indeed made out to be a big a-hole, who is looking for a wife so that he can get on with his 5-year-plan that has every detail of his life mapped out. And he's not looking for a soulmate or to fall in love: he basically wants a trophy wife... Someone who only speaks when spoken to, with a low-maintenance personality, and no ambitions at all.
"She wasn't even remotely his type - between the curves and the all-American coloring, not to mention ambition. Ambition in a woman had always struck him as one of the least attractive things on earth. (...) She was obstinate and ballsy - two major turn-offs."

But as I said, Andrea manages to make him see the light. And turns out that the arrogant, conceited and self-absorbed millionaire is (and actually was all along) a sweet guy with many endearing personality traits he's actually afraid of showing, thinking that they would make him look ridiculous.

Yet as the story goes on, Andrea is really finding it difficult to match Blake up with someone, and even her most hopeful candidates end up as a disaster. And that's when a really unexpected twist come completely turning around the storyline, and makes Andy and Blake's relationship even more awkward than it was before. And making the story all the more enjoyable with a lot of humorous banter going on between the two.

As far as the writing goes, I was very positively suprised - and pleased. I am always wary of 3rd-person POV style, but Laurelin McGee totally masters it. And what I enjoyed most was that the narrative alternates between Blake and Andy's POV. It's kind of a shame since it gives Blake's intentions/feelings/attraction away too quickly, but that didn't keep the story from being really nice and enjoyable.

However, what I was missing with Miss Match , was a bit more anticipation. It becomes fairly clear pretty early on in the book (at their first meeting, actually) that Andrea and Blake are mutually attracted to each other despite the fact that they are both nowhere near each others' ideal. I believe that if this would have been less straightforward, and if either Andrea or Blake had fought a little more against their feelings and butterflies (instead of just shyly giving in to them), it would have made the read a tad more interesting. But it did make up for some really fun banter.
"The semi he'd been sporting since she pressed against him was merely a standard male response. That it only seemed to grow more uncomfortable when she got feisty meant nothing, either."

I was also missing some more background around Andy (her past, her life, her family). We know she has a sister she is very close to, but other than that (and the history around her previous job and special skillset) we have virtually no information on her. This is just a detail and it didn't bother me hugely, but maybe it would have made Andy's character more tangible and easy to connect with.

But still, Miss Match was a light and very enjoyable read I would definitely recommend!

Miss Match by Laurelin McGee aka Laurelin Paige is an adorable, sexy and precious read! I had a total blast reading this one by Laurelin, who writes incredible witty dialogue, as well as a great way to build up the sexual tension between the hero and heroine. This is a much read for contemporary romance readers, and may just be in my top picks for favorite books for 2015.

Andrea is in a big bind. She was fired from her job of 8 years, and after suing her former boss for sexual harassment, which she lost, she’s broke. She lives with her musician sister who’s strapped for cash also. Andrea doesn’t have a college degree and very little work experience even with the former job she had. She was hired because she has this sixth sense about people and whether they would be good employee. Her boss used that special skill of hers in a way that made her feel uncomfortable. She can’t use her boss as a recommendation or mention the job at all, which makes her job hunting horrible. But then her sister spots an interesting job opening. Some millionaire CEO who runs an IT company is looking for a matchmaker to help find him a wife. Andrea has her doubts, but she doesn’t have much of a choice. She goes on the job interview, and it’s as bad as she imagined.

Blake Donovan needs a wife because he has a 10 year plan. Now at 35 he’s at the end of his 10 year plan and needs a wife. He thinks a matchmaker can help him find the perfect woman for him- beautiful biddable, lives to serve him etc… He has very specific requirements he wants in a wife, which Andrea is shocked at. Blake comes across as a condescending, pretentious prig, who appears to have a low opinion of women in general. He insults Andrea by called her Drea, and refuses to call her by her nickname of Andy because he says it sounds too boyish. She’s upfront why she needs the job, and Blake is interested in what “Drea'” has to offer him. He’ll try her for a trial period, which after a few days he wants a much longer business contract between them because he can’t stop thinking about Andy, but more than just his employee. His attraction to her drives him crazy, and he can’t help but tease and annoy her. Andrea is attracted to Blake for some odd reason. He doesn’t want to let her out of his sight and even though he’s dating these woman Andy has chosen for him, which don’t work out, he wants to have a sexual relationship with her. Andy is insulted at first, but Blake is one heck of a kisser. So she goes for it, and then it becomes even more complicated for them because Blake is falling for Andy, the one woman who is the complete opposite of what he wants in a wife.

Miss Match is a loopy romance. The situation between Andrea and Blake is unrealistic and a bit outlandish, but the way Laurelin has written it, I was hooked right from the start. Blake is not what he seems. He may appear at first to be this rich snobbish douche canoe, but he hides his true self from the world. He’s a secret Downton Abbey addict, loves pinball machines, Dr. Who, sweeping historical dramas and mysteries and sci fi novels. One he lets Andy into his world, he’s a big flirt, and a lovable one at that. He loves poking at Andy, which is very sweet.

Andy is the type of heroine who is a joy to read on the page. One of my favorite scene is where she gives Blake a corgi puppy because she says a man who has never had a pet can’t be trusted, per her mother. Blake takes the corgi grudgingly, acting like he’ll give it up, but he ends up keeping the pup, and giving the pup a very original name of Puppy.

There’s a lot to love with this book. Blake and Andy are on fire together. The initial set up and then when Andy and Blake become “friends with benefits” may raise some eyebrows, but the way it’s solved leaves the reader with warm fuzzies.

Miss Match is the type of book you should pick up when feeling down. You’ll have a big smile on your face the entire time. Must read.

My relationship with Miss Match by Laurelin McGee started much the same way it did with these two authors. It started as a slow crush and it blossomed into a full blown love fest. Full disclosure here, I’m an unabashed fan girl of Kayti McGee and Laurelin Paige because why wouldn’t I be? But please rest assured, I can still give an honest review and lucky for all of us, I loved this book!

Miss Match is a hilarious, sexy, contemporary romance. Are you in the mood for something a little lighter that will make you laugh and give you all the feels? This is the book for you, my friends. You need to one-click Miss Match and meet Andy Dawson and Blake Donovan today! At first glance, they are complete opposites. Or are they?

The charming Andy left her former job under questionable circumstances, and she can’t get a reference to save her life. She has a unique skill set that makes it difficult to get a “normal” type of office job. Her sister sets her up for an interview as a matchmaker for an egotistical, dry, seemingly boring, chauvinistic, jerk face businessman. But damn does he look good in a suit, and in jeans, and in nothing at all. How is Andy supposed to resist that? Oh right. He opens his mouth and makes us both rage! But then we look a little bit closer and see there is much more than meets the eye with Blake.

The handsome Blake has his perfect life all mapped out. He’s checked all the boxes on his list and he’s accomplished everything he set out to do except find a wife. He’s a self-made man and is so career driven that he hasn’t bothered to spend time finding someone special. So he does the logical thing and hires a matchmaker to find him a wife. Sounds simple, right? It’s a grand idea until my girl Andy throws a big ‘ole wrench in his plan.

Once these two meet and get to know each other it is game on, you guys. Their banter, attraction, and connection leave them both spinning. I love that Blake is the one that seems to fall first. He can’t stop thinking about her and makes up excuses to spend time with her. She’s so busy battling her attraction to him that it takes Andy a little longer to come around. Once they finally come together, sparks fly. There were some seriously hot scenes in this book, and I could feel their chemistry right through the pages.

At the end of the day, you may be thinking this “opposites attract” storyline may seem a little familiar, but I guarantee you this is a fresh take on that topic. The characters and story are original and unique. The writing is smart and witty while the story is sweet and engaging. Bravo, Laurelin McGee!

I freaking LOVED this book, read it in two sittings. Amazing.

This is an exceptionally well-written book that sucked me right in and held my attention the whole way through.

Andy is a thoroughly captivating MC - intelligent but goofy, snarky yet sensitive. I warmed to her instantly. Blake, on the other hand, was a total douche at the start. First off, I thought he was going to be a rehash of Christian Grey, but thankfully he wasn't. Phew! As the story progressed, and as Andy started to break through his tough exterior, we got to understand the man behind the persona.

It really was a mutual journey of self-discovery and as they got to know each other they learned so much about themselves.

This book's biggest asset is the witty dialog and the hysterically funny scenes between Blake and Andy. It wasn't just laugh-out-loud funny, it was roar-out-loud funny. At least it was for me! I actually had to get up out of bed at 3 am because I was convulsing so badly with the effort involved in trying NOT to laugh. My husband was stirring in the bed beside me and I knew he'd kill me if I woke him up because I was basically crying with laughter at a book. That's how funny this book is. Seriously. Cue lots of drama, shoe throwing, tantrums, foot stomping etc. Loved it.

There are plenty of steamy scenes in this book and enough romance to keep readers engaged.

I also loved Andy's skill set - as an experienced HR practitioner with a background in recruitment I could relate to the role she performed and the skills she brought to the table. Made it that little bit more interesting for me.

The plot doesn't hold any major surprises, or twists and turns; it's fairly predictable. The beauty is in the sublime execution of the story.

Overall this is a fantastic read. Strong character development, steady pacing, funny dialog and excellent writing. If you love a good Rom-Com then this is the book for you.

I received an ARC of this book via InkSlinger PR and Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

I really did enjoy this book and I LOVED the premise: a woman hired to find a bride for a man, but ends up falling for him instead. Reminds me of the Hallmark movie, "How to fall in Love". Anyways, moving on.

I won't lie, in the beginning, I wasn't a big fan of Andrea. And that was because, despite her unique skill set, she still managed to jump to the wrong conclusions about Blake. That didn't really give credence to her skills. However, I LOVED the fact that she realized her error and changed her perceptions of him. Now, despite her horrible habit of jumping to conclusions when it came to Blake, she was still a great character. She was loyal, smart, principled, dedicated, a hard worker, terribly patient with Blake, and feisty. Let's not forget her feistiness. She definitely gave Blake a run for his money. He he :).

As for Blake, he was infuriatingly adorable. Sometimes you just wanted to tell him to "shut up". And other times, you just wanted to hug and kiss him. I LOVED the fact that his "horrible" moments were not really indicative of who he was as a person (because that would have just totally sucked), but a reflection of the shell/mask he was used to donning so as to protect himself from getting hurt. I LOVED how, as the book progressed, you could see him shed said shell/mask to reveal the incredibly geeky, shy, awkward, amazing, fun man he was underneath.

There were lots of laugh-out-loud moments, as well as some "I can't believe you guys actually thought that would work" moments in the book, but all in all, it was great.

If you're looking for a lighthearted romance filled with humor, cringe-worthy moments, as well as imperfect characters who definitely do learn their lessons and make themselves better, this is your book.

Looking forward to more collaborative efforts from both authors (Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee)

If I used to think that Laurelin Paige is an amazing writer, now I think she and Kayti McGee are THE PERFECT MATCH! This book is funny and sexy, romantic and erotic, the characters were amazing, the storyline is very entertaining and the ending is just perfect.

I fell in love with Blake and Andy! They were amazing. Their attraction was palpable in the air. I love it when an author can write that very well. I also loved the tension between them, Andy’s sassiness and Blake’s assholeness only could lead to one thing: A perfect match.

Everybody needs to read this book. 100% recommended.

So the best I can offer is that I didn't HATE this. It was just kind of ehhh. Nothing excited me and while I read it in one sitting it was with a sort of bored detachment towards the characters.

Look it's a romance, there's only one ending in your typical romance. So once the hero meets the heroine it's a a matter of time til they wind up together. A good romance makes you not care you know the ending. It makes you forget that really no other ending exists.

Tension, passion, banter...the journey in the case of a romance is the important part, not the destination.

MISS MATCH just...did nothing of the sort for me.

A solid read. Really enjoyed the flow of the story and the way the H and h made their way toward each other. Lots of humor (and who doesn't like that?). Pleasant way to spend the afternoon.
