I’m a Southern princess—haha—nah! I am Southern, but I came from the wrong side of the tracks in a small Alabama town, just 30 minutes from the Florida state line. I have a dirty mind and I’m not afraid to use it. I live in a small rural town on 40 acres with my husband, dogs, a cat with tortitude (aka a tortie American Bobtail with attitude), cows, horses, and chickens. Everyone seems to love my twang even though I don’t hear it. Are y’all sure I have one?

I love all things paranormal and I drop curse words like commas, so I’m not your typical Southern Belle. All the same... Sweet Home Alabama, y’all!

I've been waiting for this book to come out for several months. While I waited, I enjoyed Gracen's Life Lessons, which are a free prequel to Pandora's Box and can be read on her blog: http://madisonroadtohell.blogspot.com/?z... It is not necessary to read the Life Lessons before you read PB, but I personally think that you will like the characters and understand the situations they are in more.

This book, along with the Life Lessons, is Gracen's masterpiece. Seriously, she hit it out of the park with PB! There is not one thing that I didn't like about it. I love Gracen's writing style and how much thought and details she put into this book. I raced through Pandora's Box. When I had to put it aside, thoughts about the book and its characters were raging through my skull. The story is put together flawlessly, the characters are well developed, and Pandora's Box is just an all around phenominal read!

I've loved Madison ever since I started reading the Life Lessons, and my love for her has only grown since finished reading Pandora's Box. Madison has grown so much. She's sassy, and a great mother, doing everything in her power to protect her son. She'd gladly give her life to protect him. She's also a badass, which is one of the reasons why I love her. I love a strong heroine, and that's exactly what you get with Mads. Nix is charming, dreamy, and also a badass. I love the chemistry the two of them have. They make one dynamic duo. Micah, who I grew to love in the Life Lessons, I came to hate in Pandora's Box. However, he is one wicked and awesome bad guy. Amos is freaking scary at the begining of the book, but he is also very sweet and protective of his mother.

The book has a great pace, spanning several years. The ending is not exactly a cliff hanger, but promises a sequel that will be just as good if not better than the first! I can't wait to read it!

Pandora's Box is the perfect mixture of horror and action. It'll have you flipping the pages like mad and clinging to your seat, trying to find out what comes next, and dying for the next book when you finish.

I urge you not only to pick up one of Gracen's stories, but also encourage you to find her on facebook, twitter, or visit her blog. Along with being a great author, Gracen is also very sweet and likes to talk to her fans.

I am in love with this series!!! I am normally a YA reader, but Phoenix or "Nix" is my new G~O~D!!
The characters are all well-thought out, the plot has amazing and steamy twists and turns and to be totally blunt... I want to open Pandora's Box AGAIN! I absolutely loved the easy writing style. I was drawn into the story with page one and didn't put down my kindle except to grab a shower. I even read while I typed on Facebook! That's when you KNOW it's a great book! I will totally be reading more adult paranormal, and anything written by Gracen Miller!

What can I say about this book... I think I love the story. I at least like it very much, but I really really disliked the way the story was told. It was at times long winded and then all of a sudden jolts into action and moves so fast it seems to skip entire scenes. I'm torn, because I want to know what happens next and yet I am loathed to struggle through more disjointed writing to find out.

Ok. First of all let me say if you're not 18 and older, this is an adult content book! That being said...HOT DAMN was this book AMAZING!!! I am still trying to cool off after reading this book!! The day I started this book I was almost late picking up my little man from pre-K. Thank God I finished it before dinner or my family would have starved!! Ok, maybe not starved, but it would have been PB &J sandwiches or something quick. I. Could. Not. Put. This. Book. Down! Are you all getting that I LOVED this book??? From the moment I started reading I couldn't help but be instantly sucked into this great story. The characters were amazing and real to me throughout this adventure. I loved Madison's strength and her will to do anything for her child Amos. And I'm sure anyone who has read this book has spent many nights fantasizing about Phoenix. *blushing* I can't wait to find out what happens next!! No seriously, Gracen if you lived closer I would stalk you until the next book was finished! Just kidding...well kinda! Hehe! Seriously though..go read this book people! Its fabulous!

Madison answered. “I said, ‘The Queen thinks the King’s a pussy for sending her to retrieve me. I dare him to catch me if he can.’”

And that quote would be just one of the many reasons that Madison Wescott is one of the best heroines every written. It is not just the fact that Gracen developed her and totally and fully evolved her through the course of the book. It is the fact that she is not a lay down and takes it kind of girl. She rivals some of the most popular mainstream heroines in literature out there. At first I have to admit I had a huge issue with Madison, she wasn’t warning up to me and I was worried that the book would fall short because of my dislike of her. Well, I really should have known better than that. I felt the same way about Mac Lane in the first Fever Series books, and then what happens? I have a woman crush on Mac by the end of the series. Well, you have competition Mac because I’m opening the door for Madison to take your place.

The story was more of an evolution, rather than a flow. There were some slow bits, and mostly those were the bits where Nix wasn’t involved. Yes, I confess, where I thought he was highly immature at first I found myself needing him in every chapter or a got a bit antsy. Gracen managed to tug at every single emotional string that she could with this book. I never missed Micah, I wasn’t ‘into him’ which sort of shocks me because for the most part I usually fall for the bad boys. However, he pushes it for me one too many times. Granted, evil is evil, and only knows evil. Still, at the end there, when it is at the risk of Madison’s life, he falls on my bad list and I am fully siding with Nix.

However, Nix pushes it with me too. I found myself so at odds with his man-whoring side. But don’t get me wrong, without him living his life, the book and story wouldn’t have been ‘real’, he had to cope, and that is how Nix copes. He because a stable character for me, and by the end, I think I was crying through the last several chapters of the book. The moment the ‘deal’ was made, I knew that everything was about to change and I was sobbing. Oh, yes, I was sobbing. The book has epic written all over it, and if you want me to me honest, I started out this year with stating that nothing and I mean NOTHING would top the final book in the fever series. Well, Pandora’s Box just knocked it off. I am officially ruined, I believe.

I can’t get the story out of my head; I can’t stop thinking about what is next. It didn’t help that a new character was introduced at the very end. And let me tell you I wanted to hate Alessa so bad. She was smug, cocky, and called herself Nix’s ‘girl’ too and I wanted to demon shock her for Madison. However, if Madison can look past it and be adult about it despite her hurt at knowing the past Nix and Alessa hold. I can laugh at the smart mouth on Alessa. I mean come on; you totally need some humor if you are willingly going to go to hell. My God the last few lines of the book are totally brilliant!

Madison believed she’d try. “We have bigger problems than your behavior. I only know of one way to get a living person into Hell with any hope of coming out alive.” “How?” “You won’t like it,” Madison said. Alessa shrugged. “You’ll have to sell me your soul.” TO BE CONTINUED

WOW!

In Madison's Life Lessons we met a very young Mads, here we see her all grow up! And what a wonderful character!

I loved her. She’s still confused about what is happening to her and why, but she’s fully convinced that she has to be strong and fight against all odds.

Amos, hers and Micah’s son, her little baby, is completely out of control. His demonic nature is coming out and he’s getting very dangerous to all, even Mads! But her love for him is shining through all the pages. She’s ready to sacrifice everything for Amos.

So, she gets in contact with the Birminghams and… Nix! Double WOW!!! Sex on stick! He’s a very bad boy in every sense: he’s hot, he’s tattooed, he has dimples, he has a sexy drawl, he’s a demon hunter (or Sherlock as they’re called here) and he’s hot for Mads! :D

After Micah’s betrayal Madeline is not ready for another man, but, oh, boy, is she attracted to Nix! Since the first time she gets her eyes on him! But she resists!

Things gets complicated more and more when the reason why Amos is getting homicidal comes out. When Micah returns to torment her. When she doesn’t understand why is he tormenting her.

And all the while she fights for her baby. To get him better, to heal him in any way she can. She ceases being a southern belle – she becomes a fighter!

Nix fights his attraction too. How can he feel this way towards a demon-child mom? If she gave birth to a demon, there must be something wrong with her… but his attractions only grows!

Oh, I don’t want to spoil this book for you, but there’s so much happening here that it’s a whirlwind of action, important facts, new characters appearing (all of them interesting!), truths revealed! It is a must read if you like paranormal with a lot of spice!

Updated with review:

I read this book a few months ago, but didn't have time to leave a review. That the story is still fresh in my head confirms my previous rating.

I broke one of my reading 'rules' with this book, as I usually shy away from stories in which a main character is a young child. I hate it when bad things happen to kids. Mom thing, I suppose. That got switched up, and I found myself more concerned the child would do bad things to everyone else. :) Refreshing. Disturbing. Loved it!

The writing snapped, the characters came alive, and the plot took me in an unexpected direction. About 20% into the story, I got cocky and thought I had everything figured out. By 50%, I knew I was wrong. Loved it!

The book reminded me of Constantine, with the Sherlock demon hunters. (one of my favorites, so I consider this a compliment) Lots of little religious and historical tidbits were tossed in, and it was clear the author knew her subject matter. A great deal of slow-burn in the romance area, and very good world-building and dialogue.

I did have some difficulty early on, trying to keep names straight. Several characters were introduced in a short span, and sometimes I couldn't figure out who-said-what and who-did-what. I'm not taking stars off for that, because there's a good chance this was an issue on my end, not within the story. I'm really bad with names - in life and fiction, both.

Definitely continuing with this series.
Exceptional story. Fives stars.

Demons, fallen angels, succubus and adrenaline rushes, oh my! Gracen Miller delivers a phenomenal tale courage and of the sacrifice that a mother must endure for her only son.

In a small Alabama town, Madison Wescott is struggling to raise her son, Amos, alone. Her fight isn't just about bringing up a good southern boy. It's about keeping her five-year old son from slaughtering her like the many neighborhood pets that she's already buried in her backyard. Desperate to find a cure for Amos' sudden behavioral change, she seeks out the help of a psychic and her family, the Birminghams.

Phoenix Birmingham and his uncle arrive at Madison's door just as one of Amos' sudden attempts to kill his mother is in effect. As Amos' fiery eyes glow with murderous intent, Phoenix realizes that he and his family are in for a long ride on the "Road to Hell". Will it be Evil that claims victory this time around?

Pandora's Box is a fast-paced and unpredictable work of art. Miller paints the story with the finesse of a renaissance artist's brush and the boldness of a warrior's deadly strike. This book will leave you scorching in anticipation for the next installment in the "Road to Hell" Series.

Well, this book is a knock your socks off, blow the roof off the house, so freaking good kind of book!!

I started reading Madison's Life Lessons on Gracen's blog and instantly I was hooked. Then Pandora's Box came out and I eagerly bought it and when I started that first page, it plagued my every thought...
I was so engrossed in what was going to happen to Madison in this book. It is fast paced with lots of action, and STEAMY men!! When I read the blog with Madison's Life Lessons, I originally thought I would like Micah...Well, let me say that my opinion has changed and thank you for introducing me to Nix Birmingham.
I don't want to give spoilers and I am doing everything I can right now just to dance around one of the best damn books I have read in a while...!!!
Gracen Miller has definitely added spice and intrigue in to a genre that can somewhat be monotonous with the same story lines about demons, angels, succubi, and other paranormal creatures. This book grabs you on the first page and never lets go. I got to the last page and it said TO BE CONTINUED and I wanted to scream because of the turmoil I am leaving myself in...UGH!!
Ready for the next one...NOW!!

I think I will leave it at that....
A DEFINITE MUST READ!!!!!

So I read Madison's Life Lessons and when I finished I thought "Holy Hell!! If that was the prequel, I cannot wait to see what the first book holds!". Now after finishing Pandora's Box, I cannot wait to see what Hell's Phoenix holds and I am so glad it comes out next month! This book was great! There was suspense, action, romance and demons! This book creeped me out (meant as a compliment of course) and I had a hard time sleeping. The bags I currently have under my eyes are a tribute to Gracen's ability to tell a story! I had to check the lock on my door several times last night (not that that would keep a demon out) and I had this eerie feeling of someone watching me! I devoured this book and did not want to stop reading it. I read it in every free minute I could find. I will definitely be recommending this series to my friends and reminding them to buckle up, because it's a bumpy ride on the road to hell!!

I was told this one would be intense more down and dirty and oh boy were they right!
Mads finally learns all about Micah! Now she's dealing with a little boy who is killing animals and trying to kill her. During one of Amos "moments" he tries to kill her and oh man who should be there Nix! Now Nix is amazingly hot, smart Alec, tough, and a Sherlock demon hunter!!
Oh man oh man I can't wait to see what happens!! Mads finally can protect herself but at what cost??
I am dying to see what happens next!!

5 Hellish, Incredible Stars!
Totally Entranced From The First Page To The Last! This Book Took Me On A Thrilling, Sexy Ride I Didn’t Want To Get Off Of!

The Review:
I’m a huge fan of Gracen Miller. She simply writes the most phenomenal, seducing and unique stories. So it was no surprise Pandora's Box once again elevated her to my “must-read” and “favorite-authors” list! The world she creates for her readers is extraordinary and fascinating. This story is filled with action and attention grabbing sequences and a multitude of characters that are so well written, you can actually feel the changes in them as they progress throughout the story. I loved this book!

Story/Characters...
Madison is the fiery and intelligent mother of Amos, a seemingly ordinary 5 year old who suddenly starts to act frighteningly out of character. Madison seeks help from anyone and everyone in a quest to help her son, even turning to the world of the supernatural when the medical community fails to find answers to Amos's strange behavior. By way of an acquaintance, Madison is introduced to a group of Sherloks (supernatural hunters), in hopes they might have the answers, only to find that the fate of her son and maybe the fate of the world, truly rests in her hands. Madison makes for the perfect heroine as she fights the supernatural world against her and her sons destiny.

Phoenix is the steamy and charismatic Sherlock, who grabs Madison's (and the readers) attention from the moment he step through her doorway. Together, these two burn up the pages with their angsty, intense, sexy chemistry. The handsome and devilishly evil Micha makes for the ultimate bad guy while maintaining a perfect balance of cunning and charm. He made me both fear him and swoon over him. I can’t help it. I love a sexy bad guy!

I really enjoyed the creativity and unique imagery that went into this book. The scenes were terrifying, sultry and intriguing and there were plenty of twists and turns to keep you glued to this read!

The Wrap Up:
Pandora’s Box is the first book in an harrowing and riveting series that you’ll want to devour after being completely hooked by the first chapter! I couldn’t put this book down as Gracen Miller weaves an amazingly epic, intense and creative tale that will draw you in and hold you captive to then leave you with one heck of a cliff hanger! This one is definitely a keeper and the best part is, the next book is already out so I don’t have to wait to see what happens next! Bring it!

Wow what a great freaking ride! This book was fantastic! It was dark, edgy, rich and complex. Madison's love for her child was so real and she was one bad ass chick. 5 year old Amos scared me seriously. But then when he was back to being a sweet kid I was mush. I loved the sexual tension that ran so deep between Mads and Nix. Man oh man I wish that they would have had the chance to explore what they really feel for each other. Sadly it doesn't happen. By the end there is a little foreplay and that's about it.

Now why some people love to hate Micah I totally get. He is horrible. He is mean and cruel. What he does to Madison is horrible. Attempted rape not once but twice. Lets not forget how many times he has struck her? I lost count and the the carving words on her body or him choking her.Yeah hes a real prince or something else I cant say cause it would give to much away. Douche bag asshole! Ok then there is what Micah did to Nix at the end. OMG all I know is that I need the next book to see what happened to Nix now that all this went down. I read that you get another softer side to Micah but he still remains what and who he is. I just cant see that. I mean he scares the crap outta me. But I cant wait to see whats next. This book has some great side characters that are helping Madison as well and I cant wait to have them fleshed out more.

I had a really tough time getting into this book, and it took me almost a year to get through it. I kept doing other things rather than come back to it, which for me is a pretty significant sign. I thought it might just be because it was an e-book at first (I always have a tougher time getting into those vs. print copies), but I don't think that was really it. It did have some good points. I thought the relationship between Madison and her son was well depicted (although there comes a point where, mama bear instincts aside, you need to realize your child is a danger to both himself and others). I thought the characters were interesting, with unique backgrounds and I enjoyed getting to know them for the most part. But, overall, the story seemed overly long, repetitive and draggy in spots. It was very convoluted and kept throwing obstacles up without necessarily resolving them and taking all these zigs, without the corresponding zags. There were a lot of what I felt were poor decisions made on the parts of certain characters, that led to further problems as well. I felt like it could have benefited from another go through in the editing round with a closer look at the questions of a) is this essential to the plot, and b) have I already discussed this issue, feeling, etc. previously in the story? I think the story and the author both have a lot of potential, but feel some streamlining is needed.

"Pandora's Box" by Gracen Miller was recommended to me by a friend.
It is a complex paranormal novel / romance centred around single mother Madison, whose 5 year old son Amos seems suddenly either possessed by a demon or is in some other way changed into a violent and dangerous being.
In her attempt to help her son she comes across her love interest Phoenix/ "Nix" who with his group, the "Sherlocks" is willing to help her. Things are getting more complex as far as the paranormal side of the story is concerned, including Pandora's Box from the title.
At the same time we flash back to Madison's relationship to Micah, the ex-husband who has left her from one day to the next three years ago and who is still casting a slight shadow over Madison's life.
Right from the start we are thrown into a fast paced story as Madison you can feel Madison's desperation to help her son, she is a great character that I instantly liked in her honesty and her caring ways. I also loved the chemistry between Nix and Madison.
The idea behind Pandora's Box and the paranormal world that Miller has created had me stunned and amazed, to me they were very original and well executed.
Miller is clearly a talented writer whose further work I will be looking out for.

I was so excited when Pandora's box came out I couldn't wait to read it. Gracen Miller is an awesome author and she did not disappoint this book is AMAZING!! It is so refreshing to read an original story line and Gracen has created such wonderful depth to her characters it's impossible not to relate to Madison and just how far a mother will go to protect her child. With a vicious twist on the concept of a love triangle and some amazingly surprising plot twists not to mention the super sexy Nix *wink* I couldn't put this book down. I DVR'd all my shows (including Bones which I never do), my kids had to fend for themselves for dinner nd I was up WAY passed my bed time. Pandrora's Box was worth every minute of my time! When i finished the book I went strait to Amazon and bought Madison's life lessons which I also didn't put down until I read the whole book. Needless to say I am anxiously waiting for Hell's Phoenix (which I am sure will be even more amazing than i can imagine)to come out.

OMG! I am totally in LOVE with this book! Gracen has some MAD writing skills. I was sucked into the story from the very first page. Her writing flows flawlessly on the pages and the characters feel like living breathing beings that you can reach out and touch.

Amos was creepy at first, like psycho kind of creepy. He made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end but then the kid totally grew on me and now I love him like my own...not often I say that about a character in a book. Nix & Mads are...hum...how to word them...AWESOME. I don't think I've felt so deeply about any couple in my life. I quite literally yelled at some of the characters, and cried with them.

If you are looking for an entertaining, scary, and sexy read then this one is definitely for you. If I could, I would totally give this book a 10 star rating!

Warning: This is totally for adults as it is adult themed.

I really expected to fall head over heals for this book. For all intents and purposes, I should'a. Twisted demons, sarcasm, and wicked sexiness, what's not to love? I don't know, to be honest. Other GReaders definitely found it to their liking, as shown by the 77% 5-star ratings. But, something about this one just didn't mesh for me. Don't get me wrong, I loved Gracen's dark and twisted baddies and her homicidal descriptions. I even liked the idea of a Sherlock Foundation that hunts supernatural creatures ~ very 'Supernatural'-esque. I just couldn't connect with the main characters like I had anticipated. I could definitely feel Madison's love for her son, Amos. But, try as I might, I couldn't feel the connection between her and Phoenix.

The story did end in a bit of a cliffhanger, albeit a small one, so I may eventually give the series another go to find out how things eventually play out.

Pandora's Box kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more and more. Madison is a mother whose son has turned violent after the man she loved walked out of their life no where to be found. She has tried everything possible to get her son help. She finds a group that help her and in the process finds herself falling in love with one of the men there to protect her and that he does. This supernatural story is addicting. You just want to root for the good guy and you can feel the love Madison has for her son. Very good story.

This was my first time reading from this author, although it's different then what I'm use to I rather enjoyed reading it. Some things needed to explained more and others a little less. i really liked the idea of the story demons, angels and all things that go bump in the night into one story that was my kind of party. However, there was to much character jumping, meaning that the story was all over the place, to many years have passed in the story that I felt like something should have been there to fill in how the main characters learned something new or overcame something. I just feel like it could have been shortened by all the time gabs and to much details in some areas. Other then those small things this story was amazing, it did take me a bit to finish it but once I got to the middle of the story I found it hard to put down, I can't wait to see what awaits me in book 2. I really enjoyed all the characters for some reason I really like Micha I know I know he's the bad guy right well I like the alphaness to him and the sex appeal that comes off of him. I got a few shock factors in the story these characters really know how to get to you, each page was something different.
