I was lucky to have been able to purchase this book a week before release date from my local Barnes and Noble.

In the finale to Kemmerer's Forging Silver into Stars trilogy, we find both kingdoms of Syhl Shallow and Emberfall still very much divided by magic with magic still being feared and the Truthbringers now in a deadly alliance with the scravers--vicious creatures with wings, fangs and claw desperate and eager to take back their magic from the magesmiths at all costs.
To add to the conflict, tensions between our main characters are deep--Jax and Tycho struggle to reconcile and navigate their relationship after months apart while Callyn and Alec must work together among growing feelings and betrayal to protect the queen.

This was a very fast-paced, nice conclusion to the series and I especially enjoyed seeing Alec's point of view added in this final book. He was probably my favorite character (aside from Tycho).

There are some intense battle scenes and emotional ones as well. However, I will say the ending felt a bit anticlimactic and I suppose I was expecting more? I also felt the book lacked the romantic element that we saw in the first two books, which was slightly disappointing. With that being said, I did feel like the book left the potential opening for another series set in this world which I would very much like to see with all the old beloved characters and perhaps some new ones too.

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nonetheless, I really enjoyed this final book and Brigid has always been an auto-buy/auto-read author for me.

What an incredible and satisfying ending to this series! I was really surprised how it ended! But the ending seemed fitting. The whole book was action-packed and fast-paced. I loved the intensity of it all, but I also loved the little moments shared between these characters. All of these characters are so dear to my heart and I mourn saying goodbye to them. This series has been my absolute favorite of Kemmerer’s books. I sincerely hope she will continue to let us live in this world in her future novels!

Brigid Kemmerer is one of my all-time favourite authors and is always an automatic read for me. Sparking Fire Out of Fate is the fourth book of hers I’ve been lucky enough to provide an advanced review for, and honestly? She is absolutely on fire right now (pun very much intended)!

This book is the final instalment in the Forging Silver series, which follows on so beautifully from the Cursebreaker novels. It’s a series that’s given us a mix of beloved familiar faces and new characters that somehow worm their way into your heart until you’re fully obsessed.

Sparking Fire Out of Fate throws us straight back into Emberfall and Syhl Shallow, dropping us right into the middle of the tension between fractured kingdoms, their estranged monarchs, and our favourite couples; Jax and Tycho, and Callyn and Alek. With the Truthbringers planning what could be the final blow in their rebellion against those who wield magic, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Can our characters actually win this war… or are they just trying to survive it?

This book is packed with everything I love about Kemmerer’s writing: drama, tension, and emotion. I was up until 1 a.m. because I had to know how it ended! The character growth across the board is also wonderful to see, with everyone learning more about themselves and finally settling into who they are meant to be.
I also loved how some of the most unexpected characters end up playing a huge role (no spoilers, I promise), and yes, of course, I cried real, big, ugly tears. I always do!

Even though this is the final book in the series, there are so many unresolved areas for the characters that there must be more stories from this world, and I will be the first in line once Brigid announces what’s next. Sparking Fire Out of Fate was simply perfection: a deeply emotional, gripping ending to a series I adored.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the chance to read an advanced copy of this amazing novel.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for approving me to read this book, I’m rating it 3.75 rounded to 4.0 stars.

Can’t believe this is the end, I have adored these characters and the story so much. The final instalment is hefty and it weighs on your doubts about how everything might work out. There’s still a lot of betrayal and secrecy in the air that makes any friendship, allyship or romance feel like it’s teetering on the end.

As we see the story through we get twists and loyalties tested, but some bonds are forged stronger than ever I can thankfully say. My heart breaks for the ending, it felt so bittersweet after everything the characters have been through, but it seems like justice at the same time.

Ooft! I needed a hot minute to sit and write this review. What a ride this whole world has been. I haven't been as emotional by the end of a book since I first watched Return of the King at the cinema and was consoled by the stranger sitting next to me, who was also bawling like a baby during the end credits. ANYWHOOOO you get the picture, it was emosh...

For context, I binged the Cursebreakers series and this series in six days. There are plenty of callbacks throughout the books to carry you through if you take long breaks between them; however, the experience is so much more immersive if you can read them back to back to back!

Brigid has such elite character building skills that, while many might struggle to balance this level of POVs by a third instalment, Brigid manages it effortlessly. Because such solid groundwork was invested in these characters from the start, their voices remain uniquely their own, making the multi POV format a joy to read. I thoroughly enjoyed having even more angles from which to view the story.

The plot across this 'verse has had me gripped since Cursebreakers and I only wish this world could go on forever.

Infinity stars! These characters and this world have become instant favourites and are at the top of my recommendation list for those wanting fantasy romance at its finest. *chefs kiss*

Sparking of Fire and Fate
Forging Silver Series
by Brigid Kemmerer

We're back with familiar characters, and a few new ones! The kingdoms are very much fractured, it’s the magicless vs those with magic. The Truthbringers are plotting an attack against anyone with magic. The story opens with Callyn injured. Alek is checking on her and Queen Lia Mara.

Tycho and Jax are sent on a mission together, forced to work side by side after months apart. Watching them slowly reconnect and really see each other again was one of my favorite parts. Along with them learning to let go of old wounds. Their investigation uncovers a devil's bargain meant to destroy magic. From there, everything escalates. War makes them question the people closest to them. No worries, you will still have tension & yearning.

The character growth in this book is so strong. You can really see everyone coming into their own. The multiple POVs add so much emotion. You can feel their emotions.
Alek's sarcasm is so much fun, and Tycho continues to have my whole heart. Callyn’s sweet moments with her sister was so touching. This book is a little more political than the others, as you see it come to an end (and definitely less romance).

I’m sad to see it end! I felt like there were a few loose ends, but I enjoyed the book.

ARC review

"Sparking Fire Out of Fate" by Brigid Kemmerer is the last book in the "Forging Silver into Stars" series.

Thank you Bloomsbury Publishing Plc for the advance reader copy.
Opinions from this review are completely my own.

It is bittersweet to read the last book in this series after getting invested in the story and the characters.

The story has the same POVs as before (Tycho, Jax, Callyn and Alek) but starts with a chapter from Nakiis's perspective.
I like the writing a lot and my favorite part is the development of the characters.
Tycho and Jax both matured during the series and became stronger.
While reading I kept looking forward to their chapters and I enjoyed all their interactions.
I could read another book only about Tycho and Jax's life and never get bored.

I do not care for Alek and Callyn as a couple, as I still do not like him, but they were an important part in the story and managed to work together.

The book has a lot of politics, action and there are some dangerous situations that kept me interested.
Overall I liked the story, just the ending was a bit rushed.
I would not mind if there would be another books in this world.

Honestly, at this point Kemmerer could write a shopping list and it'd get my heart racing! The final book in the Forging silver trilogy and it's everything you want and more. I love the yearning, the ships, the magic system and above all these wonderful little characters in their spinoff. I think we all collectively love Tycho at this point? We also get an Aleks POV which is great for bringing his character to life. He's got a dark sarcasm that I really enjoyed and made me chuckle more than once. This is a really fitting ending to the trilogy and I'm incredibly sad to let these characters go. I'm hoping there's still some life and stories left in this world as I'd love to spend more time there. (A bit more Rhen and Harper per chance?)
Thanks again to the publishers and Netgalley for providing an e-arc in return for an honest review.

Big Thanks to Netgalley, the author, and the Publisher for the advanced copy! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own

'Sparking Fire out of Fate' is the third book in the 'Forging Silver into Stars' by Brigid Kemmerer.

The book follows four (sometimes five) POVs, as the story continues right from where the second book left off. This time around, the politics were more dominant, thankfully, as the romance was not as interesting. It is clear by now that the characters from the 'Cursebreakers' series were what kept things thrilling and what made me at least return to read this one. The rest were flat and kind of boring.

The ending was also anticlimactic, with the big battle resulting in a rushed way. At least, the final chapters concluded the story nicely.

The writing, finally, was enjoyable as always.

Oh my goodness. I could not have asked for a better end to this trilogy. Since these characters first showed up, whether in this trilogy or the Curse Breakers trilogy, they have all had a special place in my heart. I’m so sad to say goodbye to them and to this world. It’s going to be one of the hardest goodbyes to a series I’ve had to go through in a long time, but it just speaks to the beautiful worlds and characters Brigid creates! I will be frequently rereading this whole series because I just can’t say goodbye!!!

started crying at chapter 38 and didn't stop until the very last page, I've grown so attached to this story and the characters that whilst I'm sad to see the series end, I'm glad they all had the ending they deserved. The character development, the complex relationships, the court politics and tension were all so well written and enjoyable that I could easily pick this series up from the beginning and read it all over again tomorrow.

I managed to get my hand on a copy 10 days early which is so incredibly exciting!

Overall, this series is amazing! I love the characters and the plot and the way the politics are written. That being said, this book was a tad disappointing. There were definitely some parts that were slower, while others felt too rushed.
( I also really wished we had gotten some love confessions but it’s okay ig. 😭😭 )

I am really sad that this was the finale — I don’t want to say goodbye yet!
