Before meeting Ayaka Kagari, Honoka Takamiya's concerns were ordinary at best. Now, he is at the core of an epic battle between witches. But what may be more troubling to the young man is suddenly realizing that almost every facet of his life revolves around magic users. From school to his home life, witches are bringing fire into his life, and those flames are only spreading.
Started to make sense, but then got completely baffling again. They still haven't explained why any of this witch fight stuff is happening, and the artist has zero idea on how to depict a battle in a way that you can understand what's happening.
Not really sure what I can add to this review that I haven't already stated in the previous two. The pacing is still way too fast, characters are still lacking in expression, the artwork is stunning when transformations occur and during certain actions scenes. Oh, but the one thing I will mention that I think is utterly ridiculous is Takamiya's younger sister kidnaps him at some point and wants to elope with him. Both to "keep him safe" and because she hates Kagari. I wish I was kidding. On a different note, every volume does dispense some wisdom regarding the world and magic, so that's cool. Still not sure what the magic system is or anything like that, but the knowledge is doled out sparingly so I guess that's to be expected. Honestly, there's not a lot else to talk about. Pretty good, that's it.
This is a story that, I'm pleased to say, gets better as it goes along, with new, surprising turns in the story and an ever-developing main character. The story is increasingly told through the lens of Honoka's experiences and as a result, familiar characters change out of nowhere, and characters that would normally change remain the same, lending a sense of discord to the story that closely matches Honoka's new life. The end leaves the reader with a cliffhanger that all but demands going on to the next volume.
The manga begins to get in somewhat of a rhythm. Big doings at the end with a whopper of a cliff hanger. The artwork continues to hover between fantastical and crowded. There are some outright laugh out loud moments that took me by surprise. Really, there’s nothing to get serious about this manga, just go with the psychedelic-ness of it all and you’ll enjoy it more.
Harus diakui pacingnya terlalu cepat plus karakter masih kurang ekspresinya (terutama Kagari hha, memang doi minim ekspresi, namun penggambaran Mizunagi sensei utk menyajikan karater minim ekspresi tsb masih bias). Setidaknya artwork sensei memukau saat terjadi transformasi dan saat adegan laga tertentu. Cukup bagus, itu sajalah kesimpulannya LOL
