This book is a fast read and started a journey in examine my thoughts that have led to depression. It written about Transactional Analysis (TA) and some other types of psychological thought with a simple application.

It is intended to be a workbook and read in several settings to process the lessons in each chapter.

I'm currently on Chapter 5 here I am watching my language to see how my not-OK child and Critical Parent try to grab center stage. I find this to be a great inspection of Step 3 when it talks about we are actors on a stage and how my not-OK child and Critical uses past thoughts and beliefs to hijack my life.

A dear friend recommended this book in 1983. I kept it all these years. Recently I have a need for some direction, picked up this book from the bookshelf and enjoyed as much if not more than in1983. So glad I saved this one.

I was told about this book back in 1983 when experiencing depression. It has been back again in my daily morning read pile of six books since January 2019 when I went into another depression.. My meditation time, first thing in the morning. Just a paragraph or two to start me on my day. This book is one that should be read in every senior high school grade or college. It is a wonderful guide for life.

A book that I need to return to over and over I think. Some good explanations on what self-esteem is in its many forms.

I learned many new things from this book-- Forgiving a person's humanity, "should" statements...and may other really useful topics. Some of the book is very dated but still worth the read.
