This volume completes the end of the second arc, I believe that was the end of the light novel Volume 2. The final mini chapter is the lead in to the next story. So far it seems that the formula is three manga per light novel. I hope they continue to release them in a timely manner, they are great adaptations to a really good novel series.
Finally got around to continuing 7th Time Loop and wow—I really enjoyed this volume! 💫 The story keeps building with so much tension and clever twists, it’s the kind of read that keeps me hooked page after page.
What I love the most? The art! 🎨 The character designs in the manga are just so much better compared to the light novel illustrations and even the anime adaptation (at least for me 👀). The expressions, the costumes, and the overall style feel more alive and fitting for the story’s mood.
If you’re into villainess tropes, political intrigue, and a heroine who takes control of her fate, this series is definitely worth checking out. Can’t wait to see where the next loop takes us! 🔄💖
While the story overall remains the same, there are small details that are added with each version that bring the overall story together even more and remains entertaining for any who really enjoy this series. This volume continues with the gunpowder arc, where Rishe is gathering materials to try and help convince Arnold to enter into an alliance with Coyolles instead of invading it while also trying to keep Michel from going full doomsday with his gunpowder revelation. She needs more than a little help to prove to him he isn't only good for creating ways to kill people, but Arnold seems okay with that and going along with her schemes as usual, though it certainly looks like he won't bend up until the very end. There's no mention of Michel creating the pocket watch in this version, but we do get an extended and very lovely side scene with Rishe's ring at the end of the story. Of course there's also Arnold's reaction to her declaration about wanting to end her engagement - really poor choice of words there or at the very least lack of rather significant clarification needed. Poor Arnold probably got a bit of whiplash with that bomb following up their little moment with her ring. As usual, these two really do fit well together. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out in the end and if Rishe can really avoid dying this time around if she's with Arnold; she just may not have planned to end up as involved in all of these events, let alone actually getting attached to her new "husband."

NOOOOO I HAVE TO WAIT NOW.. this is so good 😖😫 game plan: - watch the anime. same thing but i love the story i wanna see - read the light novel OH YEAAHHH
This volume was great! It pushed ahead with Rishe's agenda of changing things for Prince Arnold, and it had a sweet moment in their romance where he gives her the ring. I love how it shows her manipulating all the things and people around her so subtlety, she has a vision and is working tirelessly toward her goal.
Still really enjoying this series and how Rishe, through her own ingenuity, manages to continue to try and improve the life of not only herself, but the country she begun to call her home and for Arnold, who she believes doesn't have to become the monster from her past lives.
One thing I forgot to mention in my review for the previous volume was why I loved that fireflies balcony scene so much. There's a lot to it, but the most important moment, for me, is when Arnold literally drops his sword to catch Rishe.
The symbolism in that - the instinct that he has to choose love over the battle that's raged in his veins since birth - is incredibly powerful. And that's what this whole volume is really about.
Some of it is a little too frantically paced for me, with all of Rishe's secret plans that we can't be let into until the big reveal. I get why, of course, in terms of impact, but it makes some of the events feel a little stressful and messy. And would it really work out that well? I assume Rishe must've done actual experiments with fireworks in her past life, but even so, setting off three massive explosions in the heart of the city had...a lot of potential to still go very badly wrong.
Add to that the fact that people reacted in awe and delight instead of fear. Would that really have happened? With modern day fireworks, we know the loud booms and bright lights in the sky are controlled (mostly) and meant for entertainment. But if someone was seeing them for the first time, would they really think "beautiful" instead of "oh my god what is that am I going to die"?
Those are the thoughts that pull me out of the storyline a little bit. But I appreciate the narrative arc Rishe is taking us on. Her entire goal isn't to hide things from Arnold...for one thing, that absolutely will not work, because he's as insightful and clever and observant as she is. She's just working really, really hard to show him that anything with the potential for great destruction can serve other purposes: entertainment, beauty, technological advances that can be used for things other than warfare.
She's simultaneously trying to save two men in this part of the arc: her fiance and her previous life's mentor. Michel is a lot more understandable and sympathetic in this version than in the anime, honestly. His backstory helps a ton; like Arnold, he was raised by a brutal father who taught him that he could only view himself one way, with a singular purpose in life. For both of them, that purpose is devastation.
Michel's skill was inventing things that "could only be" poison. That's what everyone around him told him, anyway, hammering that idea into his brain for so many years that he never thought to look beyond it. After all, his birth killed his mother. One of his inventions was used in war and killed his father and the men who'd helped him develop it. If that's his skill, the thing he was born to do, then all he can do is follow his path.
But Rishe, with her brilliant, creative, forward-thinking brain and unquenchable optimism, is able to show him that his creations can be used for other things. They just have to look at them from a different angle.
Rishe also managed to corner Arnold into forming an alliance with Prince Kyle. He wouldn't have done it, regardless of his love for Rishe, if he hadn't seen the value in it...but it's hard to tell if he would've actually made that choice if he hadn't needed to come up with a reason to not punish Michel and Prince Kyle for their role in the fiery explosions, and the vague threats Michel had made earlier.
It is very, very weird that Lawvine is making big moves against another country on the emperor's behalf without actually informing the emperor about it. And it's interesting that Rishe has started to swing around in her opinion of him. Initially, she couldn't fathom what would've made Arnold execute such an honorable, helpful, skilled man. But now that she's getting to know and trust Arnold more and more, she's becoming wary of Lawvine. What's his agenda? How closely is he tied to the emperor? Does he have any loyalty to the crown prince?
One thing that I love about this series is that in pretty much any others, you throw a character in a wig and no one is ever able to discover their identity. Except both Arnold and Lawvine take a single look at Rishe and immediately know that she's the skinny guy training with the troops. It's so funny and genuinely makes for a much better story.
The final chapter in this volume, with Arnold placing the ring on Rishe's finger and essentially proposing to her again, was absolutely stunning. One of the most romantic things I've read in a while. And Rishe asking Arnold to promise her one thing...and making that a pact to travel the world with him...
I kind of can't stand how good it is. This is Rishe, planning for a future and a long life where she can find lasting happiness and truly explore everything the world has to offer, with someone she loves by her side. I hope the series stretches out far enough to show that part of their story.
The bonus story at the end was incredibly funny, because Arnold points out something I'd truly forgotten about...Rishe's initial insistence that she would only marry him if she got to be completely lazy and do nothing around the palace.
Ça me bloque.
I love these graphic novels I really do. I just wish they were more focused on Rishe and prince Arnold than all the politics. Do the plot ned all the politics? Yes. But do they also make me want to skip to these two ex enemies? Also yes. Only good thing about the side characters in this volume was seeing more of Rishe being friends with Arnold's brother and that she was able to help her ex teacher.
Now the last pages of this volume was the saving grace for me. Prince Arnold might have cause Rishe's death in all six of her previous lives but in this life he wanted her to get everything she wanted and to give her freedom. He clearly wanted her to wear his ring but still told her that she didn't need to unless she wanted to. He didn't feel like he had the right to ask more than for her to allow him to give her the ring.
He's so sweet and I can't help but swoon when he's ruthless to everyone else but so sweet to Rishe. He requests very little of her, so she wants to wear the ring (which she loves and can't stop looking at because of the stone) and she wants him to see her wear it.
I love it when I see my favorite ships in books, so when Rishe told Arnold that she wants to someday travel with him to see all the beauty this world has to offer I immediately thought of Klaus asking Caroline to travel with him. Rishe wanted to discover more things that he found beautiful and the way it was implied that he thought she was beautiful just made me want to swoon all over.
My favorite moment was when he kissed her hand while kneeling and that's how the royalty of Galkheun proposes.

Now that Coyolles has exposed their weakness and left themselves at Galkhein’s mercy, Rishe walks a dangerously thin line as she prepares to make her case for an alliance between the two nations. Will her negotiations with Arnold be enough to save Coyolles from disaster?
Meanwhile, her alchemy teacher from a previous life, Michel Hévin, is convinced no good can come from his latest experiment, gunpowder. Determined to keep this destructive power out of the hands of her fiancé, Rishe will once again need to get creative and show her friend the non-lethal potential of the explosive “poison” he’s created.[x]
Michel Hevin, the alchemist who was Rishe's teacher in a past life, has a really sad past. Like, I was pretty annoyed with him until they did the flashback. I was like, "what is your damage? Why are you being so dramatic and making everything worse for everyone!?" And then we saw his past and I was like, "ooh, there be trauma and that is his damage. He has a lot of it."
So yeah. But luckily things got resolved in a way that points to a better future, which is the goal after all. I also enjoyed that we got to see the growth in Rishe and Arnold's relationship. And we got to see Rishe and Prince Theodore working together. I really like their friendship.
All in all, a solid volume. I can't wait for the next one.
rishe turning a potential terrorist attack into a fireworks show is so good! michel finally can see what his inventions can be. rather than it being death's weapon, it can bring joy to others.
it's also really sweet in which rishe was thinking about arnold as well. for him to see the beautiful side of the world. arnold had been critical about the way kyle approached him regarding the help that the other country needed from arnold's country. although he could've easily told his father, arnold decided to give some time to kyle (and he most likely know that rishe will play a part in this.)
the ending whereby he put the ring on her was cute! she looked so shy and arnold looks at peace.

I am a simp for Arnold. There was barely any Arnold in this.
On a real note, this particular storyline didn't scream unique or interesting to me. I found her alchemy professor to be the least interesting, and the volume was centered around him. An alright read, but nothing that elicited great emotions from me.
perfect balance of political intrigue and a bit of mystery. I'm continuing to love Rishe puzzling her way through this life, and the fireworks twist was so heartwarming! Arnold really is changing and veering away from that dark path, bit by bit.....the last chapter here of Rishe x Arnold with the ring was v romantic!

3.5/4 stars, This volume filled in some of the world and characters, but didn't really develop much of the two mains. Mysteries still abound. The side quests here are fun a bit, as we get a peak into one of Rishe's other lives a bit more.
I do enjoy the finishing arc of how Rishe helps her former benefactor and teacher. To my delight, there was even a sneak peek of the next arc. It was hilarious. But I would have traded it for the next volume if we could have another comic panel!
We got to the end of this plot line. Interesting, but when is she going to get to rest?!?! this woman is so busy I always forget her end goal is to do nothing! But also had some nice romance in it. It was a good volume.
It’s been a minute since I read previous volumes, so I was a bit confused what as going on here. I think I’d have enjoyed this more if vol 5 was fresh in my mind.
