Soul to Find #2

Paris and the Reaper: An MM Urban Fantasy Romance

Rate this book
I was given the name Paris at birth.
So far, I’ve lived up to it; or rather, down to it.
Too pretty, too unfocused, too easy a target.
My father even tried to sacrifice me.

And then I was saved by a beautiful, haunted man.

Mac is a reaper; he delivers lost souls.
But when he came for mine, I wouldn’t let go.
And now I can hear other souls too.
I can help him. Love him, if he’ll let me.

Assuming we survive a conspiracy to bring Chaos through the veil.

Mac says souls get what they deserve.
If I do enough good, then maybe I can be worthy of his.
Maybe I can hold on to him and our bond—forever.

Paris and the Reaper is a soft, swoony, and suspenseful M/M urban fantasy romance. It features a grumpy raven shifter afraid to love and lose again and the sweet, cursed human who makes him want to risk it all.

It was so good to be back in Layla Reyne's paranormal world after so long. I know she hadn't intended it to be such a gap since Icarus and the Devil but life happens!

Anyways, to the book itself. We've seen bits of both characters in the previous releases (including the freebie Jason and the Storm which fits in towards the end of book one and just before the start of this one) but nothing too revealing.

So I wasn't sure what we'd be getting or where this story would go, given the way book one ended. Paris has been pushed and pulled around, treated as collateral by his crime boss father, while Cormac aka Mac, has been busy trying to balance his life as a cop with his work as the raven's reaper.

Because of what's going on, and the bruises to the soul both men carry, this one's a very realistic slow burn romance and it benefits all the more for that as the UST grows as Paris comes into his own now he's no longer under this father's threatening control and Mac begins to believe he can have a future.

Is there plenty of threat on the horizon? OMG yes! This book was one that kept me on the hook from start to finish because I really wasn't sure which way Layla would play the confrontation that's coming up between Chaos and Nature (in the overriding story arc).

Could we lose one of the MCs, would one of the fabulous secondary characters be sacrificed to the altar of realistic threat management? Will there be a way forward that doesn't involve the end of this part of the world?

Well, you'll have to read it and find out because I won't be spoiling it here! Let's just say the pacing ramps up in all the right places and the heart starts pounding the closer to the end of the book things get.

Paris and Mac are a beautifully balanced pairing, each needs something from the other, but both also grow stronger from what they can give back.

Now, bring on the third book because I am sure that one is going to be explosive in so many ways.

This was engaging and fun. I don't always love urban fantasy but this one was a good slow-burn, MM romance. I was so glad to get to know more about Paris after reading about him in the first book. I found myself rooting for him throughout and I loved Mac's character. The fact that this book has a raven shifter makes it automatically good in my book but the relationship between Paris & Mac was great.

Thank you to the author and Grey's Promotions for access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Paris and the Reaper is the second book in Layla Reyne’s Soul to Find urban fantasy series, and best enjoyed when read in order. This is a quickly paced story that moves the reader through both Mac and Paris’ viewpoints. Paris is assumed to be a ne’er-do-well, but that was only because he was too compassionate for his father’s brutal enterprises. His father set himself up to be a “protector” of paranormals, and then turned on them to steal their power. It was shady as heck, and Paris took many abuses from his erratic father in an effort to protect himself and others. Paris believes he can unite people to undo his father’s damage, and potentially prevent the giants from unleashing Chaos on their world.

4.25 stars. Audiobook. Series of three books following a different couple in each book, must read in order. Both books I read have a moderate amount of old grief via the dead ex trope, less in the second book, but present in book one and book two. I could not find the audio for book 3, so I wasn’t able to read that one, but I believe the MC is grieving a twin/sister in that one. While I don’t usually like the dead ex trope, I adored the characters so much that I could get past it and still enjoy the story.

Great narration, single narrator creating multiple voices, done really well, was able to differentiate all the characters easily.

Kudos on the cover art, so beautiful and intriguing.

First off, I would strongly recommend you read the first book in this series, Icarus and the Devil, and the short story, Jason and the Storm, before you read Paris and the Reaper. This world the author has created is unique and complex so having those stories under your belt before diving in will give you a better sense of the overall world and the place of all the other characters in it. You won’t find much backstory in this book, so reading the others first will keep you on more solid footing.

Both Paris and Mac were introduced in Icarus and the Devil, and now here they take center stage. Paris is compassionate and caring, though can seem impulsive when trying to prove himself. Mac is the consummate protector, though innocent in his own way and with heartache in his past. They match well together, and while the two are linked things between them are actually a slower burn than you may expect.

My one nit pick with this story is that the details are more surface-level. Part of this I think is due to there being an assumption that you would have already read the other books in the series, so would understand what is going on (hence my advice to read those first before this one). I really would have liked to have had things explained more in-depth than they were, particularly regarding the origin of the giants.

Even so, I was still entranced by the story and am looking forward to the next installment in the series. Paris and the Reaper was a solid 4-star read for me, and I’d recommend to to M/M urban fantasy fans in particular…just please read the other stories first, trust me!

This lady is so talented! Another great story, in this compelling series. Paris and Mac come together in this one, and what a pairing they turn out to be. Through their bond, they give one another the strength to carry out their destinies. I quickly fell in love with both guys, and with the remaining characters, even those who are morally grey. What a bunch! They really are very well written. I don't want to give away too much, just know that it's cleverly written, and is full of action and romance from the beginning and never stops. The mystery that surrounds this whole series so far, is just excellent. And don't get me started on the romance, it's slow burn, dreamy and lovely. Paris and Mac made me swoon when they were together 😍 Can so recommend, and cannot wait for the next story.

This can't be read as a standalone. Icarus and the Devil set the scene.

Paris & The Reaper – Layla Reyne
4.5 stars ⭐️/ 2.5 chili peppers 🌶️

This is a completely new genre for me – I am here for this swoony, suspense filled urban fantasy and M/M romance. This is book 2 in the Soul to Find series. While you don’t have to have read book 1, (because I hadn’t), I have a feeling I should have read book 1 first just to lay a foundation and provide context for me for some of the more prominent side characters but that didn’t take away too much for me. This book moves very quickly from the beginning. You meet Paris (MMC 1) as he is being sacrificed by a magical giant that his FATHER turned him over to. Paris is fighting for his life as tortured souls move through him. The way the author describes the scene and pain that Paris is feeling is phenomenal. Shifters move in to save Paris from his impending death. Part of the group is a black raven with violet eyes. Paris is saved by this group and taken away from his hometown and to a safer place to heal from the horrific damage that has been done to his body. During his healing process, he meets the human form of his savior – Cormac Kelly (Mac). Mac is the reaper that takes the form of a black raven. Paris was on his list of souls to deliver but then realized that Paris is destined for greater things. The veil/portal that was opened while the giant was sacrificing Paris, actually used Paris as a type of portal as well. Once Paris and Mac realize how valuable of a conduit Paris has become, the clan will do anything and everything to protect Paris.

Paris begins to have very intense dreams and feels the urge to paint them. Quickly Paris and Mac realize he is painting different scenes and scenarios of souls that are trapped (missing) and must be returned. With these artistic clues, Mac starts searching for these missing souls so he can deliver them. What they soon realize that this is all part of the bigger war between Nature and Chaos with Chaos trying to thin the veil to deliver evils. They also discover how deep Paris’ father was in this war and was aiding Chaos and the giants heavily. Mac and his clan see to it that Paris’ father never helps another giant while Paris works to win over those that were “working” for his father. The battle between good and evil in this book so exquisitely written and the imagery portrayed is so beautiful.

The relationship that develops between Paris and Mac is very heartfelt and endearing. Paris feels that he is not worthy of love because of the abuse he received from his father for being TOO SOFT and Mac has already bonded once in his lifetime and lost that love. Mac is afraid to bond again because he could not bear to go through life without Paris. Mac reveals to his family that he knows that Paris is his because Paris was on his list of souls to deliver but he knew he couldn’t.

The relationship at the heart of this story is what truly shines. Paris’s journey from self-doubt to strength, alongside Mac’s struggle to open himself up to love again, is both touching and relatable. The soft, emotional moments between them are beautifully written, and the slow-burn romance makes their eventual connection all the more satisfying. The dynamic between a man cursed to hear souls and a reaper afraid of loss, is explored in a way that feels fresh and heartfelt.

As the group readies to destroy the giants trying to open the veil, Mac and Paris make promises to each other that if the end comes for one, it comes for both of them.
There are so many parts of this story to love – the magic, the shifters, the battle between good and evil (Nature v Chaos) along with the side characters, including Icarus from book 1. While this was first foray into urban fantasy, it will not be the last. The ending of book 2 beautifully sets up book 3 and I cannot wait.

Happy Reading Friends! Peace ☮️

The battle continues
The veil is thinning as we get closer to Samhain
The enemy intends to bring Chaos through by using Paris as the final sacrifice to the giants

If you haven't read book one, or it's been a while I highly recommend starting over to guarantee you get the full experience.
The storyline is intense with a vast collection of characters and side stories

"We're all getting through this day- alive"
Are we?
There is a lot of edge-of-your-seat suspense
Multiple scenes when our band of saviors are barely surviving the evil thrown at them
Friends become foes and the price of their betrayal is high
Some HADES YES! moments blended in with OMG NO! ones
No, I am not spoiling!

"His fingers sliding into the spaces between his spread ones. A perfect fit. Like their bodies, like their souls"
One of those love stories for the history books.
It was an accident, and destiny at the same time
They filled each other's empty places so well <3
Paris deserved happiness after everything he has faced.
Mac, the current Reaper for his clan, soaked up the peace Paris offered him
Two broken souls that found second chances in each other

"How many more souls can your conscious bear?"
Betrayals?
Misguided beliefs?
Comrades in arms that choose to flee
Frienemies

One of the hard-to-like characters for me was Robin but if you look past the blustering and snide comments you will see the hurt, the loneliness the real Robin
Robin's story is next I am excited to see how he comes to terms with what really happened and what he believes happened
The identity of "She" is revealed in this book as well as some pretty surprise connections between the characters

Like the first book, the story has ups and downs. The cast is vivid with a storyline that engages and keeps the reader guessing
Some moments will lead to blurry eyes - don't give up hope

If you enjoy high heat mm romance, and urban fantasy with plenty of action and suspense this is a series for you
Both books are available on Kobo Plus

I already know how exceptional of an author Layla Reyne is when it comes to romantic suspense and contemporary romance, but with urban fantasy romance, she's more than proven her mettle with her Soul to Find series. Paris and the Reaper is the second full-length novel and the third book overall. Readers familiar with the series will remember Paris Cirillo from the previous books, Icarus and the Devil and Jason and the Storm, and now, this human and reluctant heir of his evil father's empire steps into the spotlight, paired with Cormac Kelley, a raven shifter who works as a cop. Oh, and Mac happens to be a reaper as well. Mac saved Paris as he was being sacrificed, courtesy of his own father. Now, Paris finds himself hearing the voices of lost souls, and maybe he can now serve a bigger purpose by helping Mac, his deliverer of souls, find them. In the process, will Paris be able to show Mac that their bond is one that they may possibly have forever?

It's been a little over a year since Layla Reyne introduced readers to this world where humans and shifters existed and Chaos and Nature battled for control via Icarus and the Devil. Her novella, Jason and the Storm, helped to keep the hunger for more of the Soul to Find series at bay, but I must say that I was all grabby hands for Paris and the Reaper. This return to Yerba Buena and Talahalusi was filled with action, suspense, and romance, and I relished every single bit of it. The pairing of Paris and Mac was simply *chef's kiss*. From the moment the latter swoops in to rescue the former, there was no turning back--I was invested. The slow burn romance meshed so perfectly with Paris, Mac, and the rest of those helping them to get answers regarding giants, lost souls, and the bond Paris and Mac shared. It all made for an exhilarating read, which is why it gets five stars. And now the wait begins for Atlas and the Traitor, which I think will be about a little less than a year.

I'm so happy to be back in this world. We've seen bits of both Paris and Mac in the first book but I love how much more we got on both of them and the struggles they have both faced in their life.

There is soooo much more to Paris than what was initially shown. He's smart, he's cunning and he will do absolutely anything he can to protect the innocent and even more for the ones he loves. Mac has so much on his shoulders beinfg a reaper and with his past it's hard to let people in but he can't help but let Paris in.

I really liked the progression of the premise of this whole world with Nature and Chaos and the war between them. It explained even more background of the rift and the history of certain aspects which was nice. I loved the found family and how everyone welcomed Paris and showed him how he deserves to be loved despite his relation to the main villain in the fist book.

I really can't wait for the next book. Both seem extremely tortured and hate each other at the moment so I can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Another must read from this author. The world she's created is unique, imaginative and characters strong and memorable. I've read a lot of PNR and urban fantasy books and she's up there with the best.
I've read every single title she's published and her ability to combine action, heat, mystery, humor, emotions and found family trope without missing a beat never ceases to amaze me. It makes her books impossible to put down.
This one is a slow burn at the beginning, but the slow build up of connection and feelings between Mac and Paris is realistic and deeply moving - until it blazes into a fire. I loved the way Paris expresses himself and how he's bringing Mac out of his shell on the way, crumbling his walls. Add the fast paced story with some really unexpected twist and turns and heart stopping finale which made me cry (don't worry, there's a HEA) and Ms Reyne will owe you some sleep.
Icarus and the Devil was her first attempt in this genre and she nailed it, so I suggest you start with it because the fight continues and the characters play important roles in this one. If you want a complete picture you should download her free short story Jason and the Storm. It fits just before final chapter in Icarus and the Devil and I'm sure you'll find the link at her contact information at the end of her books. It's a separate story because it would interrupt the flow of the first book if included.
Can't wait to read Atlas and the traitor. Don't worry about the release date stated. We'll get to read it sooner.

A 2nd instalment in the Soul to Find series, blending high-stakes paranormal suspense with plenty of hurt and comfort and the author's trademark found family vibes. The story follows a broody raven shifter and an accidental medium recovering from years of family abuse as they find their way to each other against the backdrop of a bloody war between Nature and Chaos. While it revolves around a different couple, it's a direct continuation of the overarching storyline from Icarus and the Devil, so it would be difficult to read as a standalone.

The mystery aspect is interesting and the main characters, Mac and Paris, are well developed and quietly likeable, so it's easy to root for them. While they lack the intensity of the previous couple, for me their romance felt more believable, since it leaves them more time to heal, grow and connect instead of relying on insta-lust.

One thing that still bugs me is the world building. Not like there are some glaring holes in it, I just don't have a good feel of this world and its mechanics. We get enough for the story to make (at least some) sense, but not enough to really grasp the bigger picture and how it all works. I think it could have used a bit more detail, even if not all readers would appreciate it.

The ending answers some questions and introduces even more, making for a great setup for the sequel, and I'm very much looking forward to Atlas and Robin's story.

ARC provided by the author, I have chosen to read and write an honest review.

Insta love emotionally, but a little slower with the actual getting together, which is appreciated as it gives some sense of Paris and Mac getting to know each other.

There was a big chunk of time between me reading book one and this one and I chose not to do a re-read but I would say, to have a good feel for the overarching plot that runs through the books and to have a feel for the different dynamics and relationships, I'd suggest reading this with Icarus and Adam's book fresh in your mind.

This world is shifters and warlocks and trolls and nature fighting back. A lot of Greek mythology connections. Greek mythology (alongside others) is in so much media now whether very directly or more subtle so I loosely understand the meanings/connections. However, as someone who plays Hades & Hades 2, I was relaying everything back to the games lol.

This book is less heavy world building and more about the relationships and feelings and a little danger. Layla Reyne is mostly always gonna throw a little grief and heavy feels in there and this is no exception. I wasn't as invested as I'd like to be, I enjoy a sweet and swoony book but also I'm a pessimistic asshole at the best of times so some of it was a little too cheesy for me at times. I did roll my eyes a couple times lol. However, I am intrigued about Atlas and Robin and how their book will go.

If you're looking for a paranormal romance with a fated mates vibe, that is sweet and steamy, light world building, found family who are fighting evil warlocks and trolls then this is your book.

Layla's world building for the Souls To Find series is incredible, with the paranormal aspects along with the location settings for each scene. I found it very easy to picture where the characters were and what they were experiencing, not always a good thing when a giant is trying to kill them.
I'd recommend reading this series in order due to the overall plot arc, though we are with a different set of MC's for this book.
Mac is a Reaper and is one of the people who is there to rescue Paris when he's being given as a sacrifice through a pretty brutal method. Paris latches on to Mac and without knowing why, they become important to each other. Their story is sad in places, mostly due to the grief Mac is still experiencing but Paris has become someone extremely important to him in such a short space of time.
While that's slowly building between them, Mac and his group have to keep Chaos from making it through the veil. Many are trying, sacrificing souls to help thin the barrier but, by accepting help and working together, they may come closer at stopping this altogether.
It's an excellent paranormal/urban fantasy romance. We see Icarus and Adam, from book one, along with a whole host of characters who add a found family feel to the group. I'm very interested in the third book considering what happens towards the end of this one....
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I want to start by saying that I really enjoyed Mac and Paris as a couple; Mac was the ultimate protector and was selfless to a fault. Paris was someone who'd spent most of their life being underestimated so it was good to see him step forward confidently and take charge of his destiny. They had good chemistry and I was pleased they got their HEA after lots of action and ups and downs along the way. I think it's essential you've read book 1 before jumping into this book (and also Kai and Jason's short story to get the most of the secondary characters). There's a lot of intricate parts to the world building and one of my wishes is that there's just a bit more explanation for things. I've read book 1 but even I was confused in places about some of the different aspects and it did really feel like Mac and Paris were already a couple from page 1 rather than really getting to know each other. I wanted just a bit more detail to them as a couple - most of what we gather in part 1 about Mac revolves around his reaper duties... but we don't actually see any of this in detail, he just disappears for chunks of time. Overall, these are small things and don't detract from the fact that this is a really good urban fantasy MM romance. Like I said, it works best as part of the series so if it sounds like your thing give book 1 a read first!

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This was everything I could have asked for and more. From the glimpses we saw of Paris in Icarus and the Devil as well as in Jason and the Storm, I knew he was going to be a complex character. It was wonderful to see such a sweet character retain their heart and brightness despite the situations they were forced into. Mac, as I expected, was amazing. I adore how strong yet vulnerable he was. Layla Reyne writes the best characters. I won't even tell you how many times these two made me tear up.

The entire found family of this series makes my heart happy. Their dynamics feel natural and fluid in a way a lot of books promise but fail to deliver on. Everything I learn about each character makes me want to know more. Mary is, of course, fascinating. Robin is a barrel of gasoline waiting to ignite (and I am *so excited* for his book), Icarus and Adam continue to make me smile, Kai and Jason leave me wanting more that just a novella dedicated to them. Honestly, just give me all the books, please.

I continue to be complete drawn into the world created in this series. It's familiar enough to make the paranormal aspects feel entirely plausible. I can't wait to see where the overarching plot takes us next.

I've been going back and forth between books and I finally get a chance to finish and review this book.
I love a good slow burn and what makes it better is the MM grumpyxsunshine trope.

Paris, I want to give you a hug, you sweet and gentle soul. You are beautiful and kind. To hear the voices of souls must've been extremely hard to bear, but you found strength at your lowest. I found a bit of myself in your story, where you had to be strong even at your weakest points. Beautiful love is what you deserve and I'm glad you found it.

Mac, you're the first raven shifter I've met so congratulations. We have some things in common like not being able to open up and let someone in. I know they call you grumpy but I know you were only protecting your heart, as frustrating as that can be. Your journey together is truly heartfelt💜

I'm glad you two found each other and managed to let each other in. Your love makes me hope to find something of my own. The sweet moments that you two have make ne long for a similar experience

There was so much action involved here that it’s almost impossible to write a brief review rather than a full book report but I’ll try to keep it short.

Paris, one of the MMCs, had been abused his whole life by his father and was then handed over to a giant with the powers of fire who planned to use Paris’s soul to call forth the being, Chaos, onto the earthly plane. Fortunately, he was rescued by a reaper just in time though, as you read, you’ll find there was much more to it than it appeared.

Mac, the other MMC and reaper, vowed to protect Paris in the hopes that while doing so, he and his team would be able to find and destroy those responsible for stealing souls before they succeed in calling forth Chaos and unleashing him on the world.

This was the most unusual book I think I've ever read! It was surprisingly addictive though and I was unable to put it down, needing instead to keep going until I finished so I could find out what happened. There are other books coming in the series as it wasn't resolved here but Paris and Mac did get their HEA. 4.5 Stars!

You get what you deserve. And Paris and Mac deserve each other. Full Stop. These beautiful hurting souls who have seen and been through too much.

But they won’t get their happy ending if they don’t figure out who to trust and how to put an end to all the evil that is transpiring.

Paris, the son of one of the worst humans around, ends up working with Mac, a reaper and their friends and family to dismantle it all and set things right.

I love their connection and the way they each embraced the other’s full self.

I love Layla’s writing, her characters and the worlds she builds. Though I’ll never love anyone more than Marsh, her cowboy agent, but Paris and Mac are pretty good runner-ups!

I'm always impressed when an author can take a character on the opposite side in one book and make him the hero of the next. Paris may not necessarily be a villain in the first book of this series, but Reyne puts in good work to immediately give him the depth needed to become a sympathetic main character, one as deserving of romance as Mac, an obvious hero from day one. Mac has plenty of reasons not to become invested in Paris, but their slowly blooming love for each other feels as inevitable as this series' overarching conflict between Nature and Chaos. I became invested in these men enough to take the rest of the story at face value, but I still have many questions about the world-building and where the eventual end-game might take us. Not enough, however, to stop me from eagerly awaiting the next promised installment of this wonderfully original urban fantasy world.

Paris and the Reaper by Layla Reyne was marketed as a standalone, but I really feel at a disadvantage not having read the first book. There wasn’t enough explanation about the war between Chaos and Nature, making the world-building feel lackluster. It felt like all action and no world-building. I was also surprised that Paris and Mac are so affectionate with each other right from the beginning. Mac is struggling with grief from losing his first love, which makes his instant comfort with Paris a little curious. Overall, it was a sweet story. Paris and Mac are both deserving of love and of their happily ever after.

This is book 2 in the series, but you can read it as a standalone. However, I think for maximum enjoyment it's best to read both books. Trust me, if you're a fan of urban fantasy and/or Layla Reyne, you'll love both.

Paris and Mac are the definition of sunshine/grumpy and whereas the first book is pretty insta-love, this one is slow-burn. I loved both of them, Mac has suffered a lot, and being a Reaper, he's also witnessed and experienced a lot of loss. Paris has suffered his fair share of trauma at the hands of his horrible father.

The plot is fast-paced and captivating, keeping my interest from start to finish. I adored the lead characters and the supporting cast, and the world-building was great. Definitely a must-read!

This is the second book in the Soul to Find series and I really think that you should read book 1 first to have a chance to understand everything that happens in this book. This is the story of Paris and Mac. It starts out with Paris being sacrificed by his father for more power. Mac, as a reaper, was expected to take his soul. Instead he saved Paris. Now Paris is a medium who can communicate with souls. He is now dedicated to helping Mac find and help lost souls. As well as fighting against the empire that his father has built. This is their story. The is definitely a slow burn romance. The road to happiness for these two is anything but smooth. As they work together, their relationship gets stronger. I enjoyed this book.

I received a complementary advanced review copy from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

Whew, I knew Paris's story would be good but dang, Layla, this is so good. Layla has stepped out of her contemporary/RS worlds to give us more of her urban fantasy world. And just like her other stories, we get wonderful MC's with such lovely found and kin family. Paris and Mac's journey plays out in the same time line as Icarus and Adam's, Jason and Kai's with elaborate mythology and world building so this would be difficult to read as a standalone. Mac and his team continue to cleanup the mess Paris's father left behind. Paris wants to prove his worth, find his way after that death. Both have so much to deal with. There's quite a bit of angst, some lovely smexy times, and choices that must be made. We get more of our other couples, Mac's family, teammates. And while the latest bad guys get their comeuppance, Layla sets up what should be quite the story for Robin and Atlas.

DNF at about 45%.

I requested this ARC because it has all the things I usually love, mainly a suspenseful PNR, however almost halfway through I had no idea what was happening. I know that technically this book is marketed as book two, but the synopsis reads as if it can be read as a standalone (think interconnected standalones). The setting made zero sense to me, the plot, the magic systems, who the characters were supposed to be, and what the ultimate goal. By page 50 an MC was caressing the other's face and I swear they had only been on the page together one other time. I'm disappointed as this book was so exciting for me, but I don't think this writing and storytelling style is for me.

This is an urban fantasy with interesting combination of Raven Shifters, Coyotes, Phoenixes, Reapers and Humans with a drop of magic!

Paris is dragged to the brink of death by his father, the crime boss!. Mac has to get his life together as Cop and Reaper. Unforseen events brings these two face to face, each struggle to open up and confess their feelings. But want the other to be safe!

I loved the ability of Paris to paint his heart out. His best painting definitely is something i would love to see it as character art!
The slowburn and romance is swoony, heart warming and so satistfying. Basically, it felt right. Its action packed and kept me on my toes, could not put this book down.

Cannot wait for this series to continue and sweep me back into this paranormal universe!

First off: I really enjoyed this book. It's the second in a series and centers on a new couple, but continues the very interesting overarching storyline. I did struggle finishing it though - I got about halfway and then lost momentum a little due to being a major mood reader and life just got in the way! I do recommend this series and this book. Paris and Mac are such a good couple, and I love getting to know even more of the characters in this world.
The fantasy storyline set in a post-apocalyptic world that isn't too dissimilar to ours (except for the supernaturals!) is one of my favorite things about this series. The characters are also all lovable, but Layla Reyne has built a great world to dive into and get lost in.

I’m loving this series, and enjoyed Paris and Mac’s story. The world building with its mix of technology and supernatural is intriguing ad dangerous. The way the two forces are vying for control makes for a compelling read.

Paris is an interesting character with hidden depths, and he is put through the wringer in this story, with his father’s legacy only the beginning. I loved his and Mac’s connection and how Mac is slowly drawn out of himself to risk a relationship, and love, again. Paris’s new abilities are interesting. I loved the descriptions of his art.

I enjoyed catching up with Icarus and Adam from book 1, and Mary, Jason, and Kai. I loved Liam, Mac’s brother, and his family. And Robin and Atlas. Their story is going to be quite the ride.

Paranormal shifter Romance MM

The second book in the Soul to Find Series. Featuring a sweet cursed Human Paris who has been mistreated all his life and used as a pawn in his family and A dark and Broody Raven Mac who has closed of the idea of love and spending his life with someone. I loved getting to know the characters and seeing the growth and development they made as they came to realise they were deserving of love. It was particularly great to see Mac lift up Atlas and watch him blossom.

I loved learning more about the world they lived in and the battle brewing between good and evil.

Would definitely recommend reading the 1st book in the series to get a better understanding of the world and the characters involved in the battle.

Paris and the Reaper is book #2 in the Soul to Find series by Layla Reyne. I loved being back in this amazing world that Layla has created.
There’s witches, warlocks, shifters and magic to enjoy. Paris is one of few human characters in the book and he is both sweet and strong! Mac is a reaper who collects souls.

The chemistry between Paris and Mac was off the charts and I loved going along with them on this action packed adventure. Seeing their love bloom and grow was amazing.
I couldn’t stop reading this one and I loved how it tied into the other two books. These two deserve their happy ending!
