PT Esta série continua a equilibrar-se numa corda bamba entre momentos que considero algo aborrecidos e outros que são precisamente o oposto. Ainda assim, o saldo global é claramente positivo, e o enredo mantém-se suficientemente intrigante para me deixar genuinamente curioso quanto ao que poderá surgir a seguir.

EN This series continues to walk a fine line between moments I find somewhat dull and others that are quite the opposite. Still, the overall balance is clearly positive, and the plot remains engaging enough to leave me genuinely curious about what might come next.

This is by far the most intense and emotional volume yet, and I loved it. This focuses almost entirely on the snake god, whose role in this story is much bigger than I previously realized. Some elements are a bit confusing to me, so I think bingeing the series may be a better choice than one volume every few months, but I'll take what I can get.

Is the subtext queer? Well, it’s not NOT queer.

Tokinaga is out here acting more like a jilted lover than being on the other side of a friendship breakup.

I mean, having a heart to heart with Obikawa while straddling him in bed and with Obikawa’s finger IN his eye socket? After Tokinaga told Obikawa in the bathroom while washing Obikawa’s hair for him that he never understood why love and sex were conflated? AFTER Obikawa implied that he likes being in this current human form because it lets him retain his warm feelings for Tokinaga?

It would have been less gay if they kissed.

Anyway.

This story is so unhinged and so weird—I NEED more people to read it~

FIRST OFF YORIKO THE GOAT. shes great. i need her to get back minami bc they are end game. obikawa is so interesting. he is fucked. so fucked up and what is he is going to yoriko is fucking evil... BUT seeing him and tokinaga im like shit i feel bad for him??? i really feel for tokinaga... LIKE WHERE MY GIRL WAKA AT. anyways LOVING THE STORY. so many more pieces to this puzzle but its gas

This is a 4.5 star review. The story and all was worth 5 stars, but I didn't have that 5 star feeling why so ever. Might change my opinion after a reread some time!

I recommend this volume to ALL Mahito (Jujutsu Kaisen) haters. Attack me for it, but his actions make sense and aren't objectively wrong. Y'all are just a bunch of emotional humans and that's why you don't think about him enough to understand him! (I recently had a discussion about this and this volume only proved my point, especially page 38!!)

This volume was a bit different than the previous ones, since the story line wasn't spread all over the place. We concentrated on the snake god the whole volume what was very pleasant. The first half was Yoriko and "Akio" and the second half Tokinaga and "Obikawa".

The snake god, Kaka Haha Mi Mui Orokapi (Yes, I had to look that up. The name is ridiculous, it sounds like a 6th grader's Roblox user lmfao), is on one hand batshit insane and on the other one a literal child, which I think is super intriguing. He is so reckless since he has no grasp of human emotions and morals. I mean how would he huh, but eating Yoriko's child's bones was a bit intense, wasn't it?

I think Orokapi might be my favorite character. I'm looking forwards to read more about the gods' conflicts and the different kinds of IPOs that exist. Especially how Alura is connected to all that!

What I didn't enjoy much was Tokinaga's suffering. Why my baby Sumi Eno? Why do you hate him? I had this deep ache in my chest when he had to face Obikawa. And he cared for him anyways, washing his hair and all. Tokinaga's such a good guy. And so pretty as well, I can't but take pictures every 3 pages.

I had enough dick-talk for a few months though. Please stop talking about dicks Obikawa!

Much more focused and enjoyable than the previous volume, but this series is still a bit of a mess to me. Lots of interesting ideas and the art can be great but it's kind of..... all over the place (...where was Waka this whole volume??). The abilities and world-building continue to feel a bit inconsistent as well.

Not gonna lie, I'm mostly here for toxic Tokinaga and Snake God yaoi at this point. Also ace Tokinaga confirmed?💯

The plot thickens as the Snake God acts on its whims and makes enemies of allies and allies of enemies. I enjoy how this story slowly unfolds more information about the gods while moving the plot at a steady clip. Like previous volumes, there's a lot of dialogue on reality, humanity, and morality. The series overall poses some interesting points, though the characters tend to be extreme in their viewpoints. I look forward to reading the next volume.

Después de adentrarnos en los entresijos de un mundo en guerra con unos dioses muy poco convencionales, llega la entrega más diferente hasta el momento. Y eso ya es decir, porque toda la obra está cargada de una historia y un humor muy particulares.

Puedo decir con total seguridad que este tomo es uno de los mejores de la serie. Toda la historia se centra en las emociones y la vida de uno de los personajes más inquietantes: el dios serpiente. A través de él, vemos el entramado de la historia desde un punto de vista completamente distinto.

No se trata de intentar convertirlo en un villano “bueno”, para nada. La obra nos muestra cómo es realmente: sus acciones, su forma de pensar, su locura… y eso lo hace todavía más interesante e incómodo como lector.

Sí que es cierto que hay algunas escenas que pueden resultar algo caóticas o confusas, pero aun así, es una obra tremendamente original y que merece mucho la pena.

Ojalá poder contaros más, pero estaría entrando en territorio spoiler…🐍🔥

Hehehe! I’m kicking my feet like a little kid because now we’re getting into the mindset of the gods (in this case the Snake God) especially when you consider that he has bits of himself in multiple humans and how that works.

We even get a better look at how the gods interact with each other.

It’s sinister and suspenseful and it feels so innocently evil.

Okay first off, this volume was a huge change of pace. I am really liking Obikawas character depth and I’m interested in its direction and potential. Probably my favorite character so far besides Tokinaga.

Amazing Chapter Full of Emotion and Beautiful Art as Usual

The story so far

Gods have descended upon Tokyo, reducing the entire city to an uninhabitable danger zone. A young girl by the name of Waka peers through the fence surrounding the zone when she is approached by a wary researcher named Tokinaga. Waka claims that she's come all the way from Saga in order to find a friend.

Soon after, Waka is attacked by a snake god and kidnapped, leading her to horrifying realization that there is a god living within her. She manages to escape her captors, but the physician Yoriko isn't so lucky. Yoriko is next to be abducted and is quickly struck with the revelation that the snake god is actually Tokinaga's friend Obikawa.

Minami rushes to rescue his fiancée, and despite suffering grave injuries in the ensuing fight, succeeds in saving Yoriko. However, now Minami has been somehow possessed by the snake god Obikawa and has taken Yoriko hostage once again...

#IPO: the official name for gods. Short for Idolatry Prohibited Organism.

I originally purchased this on a bit of a whim but have yet to be fully convinced. Currently I am only picking up additional volumes if I can't get three volumes of other series I am reading whilst taking advantage of the Forbidden Planet 3-for-2 offer.

The premise is simple, Gods have appeared and are blighting the World. They have the ability to kill with a single glance and areas they have 'infected' are quarantined off for everyone's safety.

The Anti-God research Institute is desperately trying to find a defence against the invaders whilst tackling a few nearby Gods, including the recently escaped Snake God.

It is frantic and occasionally disjointed and I remain unconvinced. There have been a few new reveals which make the actions of the Gods seem more reasonable, but I am still not sure whether I will actively pursue further issues or not. 3 stars.
