A prequel to GLIMMER

This is a short story…

Born with gills and not wings, Dashrael has always tried to prove himself to the high fae of Nightfall. A skilled tracker and hunter, his services have been used for a century. But the mission this time is different and goes against everything he believes in. And disobeying orders sets destiny into motion.

Too short

Not sure what is going on. The next book Portal cannot be located and now the series is being offered as a six part serial all under the title Glimmer. Bad merchandising.

Not to sure...

This "book" was really only a teaser. As a water fey, Dashrael is looked down upon by the rest of the worlds fey. So when he is presented with an opportunity from one of the most powerful of his kind in the world, he jumps at the chance to help him and his life mates futures.

Only when he goes to do the job, he realizes that it is way more than he bargained for... He struggles with what to do. What they want him to do, and what he knows if right and just.

The book and some small twists and turns. But like I said above, mostly a teaser. If I stumble upon the second book, I will probably end up reading it. But unfortunately, the book was short of that, oh-my-god-I-have-to-have-the-next-book-now! effect. Maybe if the short story had been a little bit longer, may have hooked me. But I LOVE the idea of water fey, not much of that out there!

Dawning- Nina Decker prequel if you will. Very short, but gives a glimpse of how ruthless the fae are.

Glimmer and Portal:

Overall I enjoyed Nina. She's a nurse (awesome profession if I may say so!). I really enjoyed how she grew and embraced her fae side. She went from hating her fae heritage and mother, to embracing it. The fae in this series are malicious creatures not to be trusted. Pixies are evil (most definitely not Jenks). Interesting world. Both these would have worked as a single release instead of 2 separately released novellas, with Dawning as a prequel. (So I did one review for the 3 as opposed to separate reviews for each). Ending was very open ended for more books (novellas?) in this series. Some minor spelling errors that I noticed.

This short intro to the Glimmer series didn't seem enticing at first. Getting further in the short pages I think it grew into a better story and makes me curious enough to read the first book. I hope it starts off better in the first chapters.

Great beginning to the series, it tells the reader exactly how the characters came about and what they are about

The description is almost as long as the story. It should have been done as a prologue instead of a short

I liked this book well enough. It was fairly interesting and I liked the characters.
