ARMAGEDDON'S NOMADS

Banded together to survive, Ryan Cawdor and his companions travel the barren wastelands of a post-nuclear world. There are no laws in Deathlands—only fear, destruction and annihilation. As each day brings a new struggle, this group journeys toward the shaky promise of sanctuary.

COLD WAR

Ryan and his friends become the subjects in a deadly experiment when they're taken captive inside a redoubt at the South Pole. A team of scientists is convinced the earth must be purified of mutants, and now they have the perfect lab rats to test their powerful bioweapon. Within Antarctica's harsh and unstable conditions, the companions must fight the odds and take down the whitecoats before millions are killed. But in this uncompromising landscape, defeating the enemy may be just another step toward a different kind of death….

This was yet another exciting installment of the "Deathlands" series written by James Axler. This time, Ryan and the gang were taken to a dictatorial redoubt in Antarctica, battling against cruel whitecoats and the residents of a mutie zoo. Oh, did I mention the murderous pengies? They are the native creatures of Antarctica, and are killing machines whom the companions also encounter. Anyways, Jak, Doc, Mildred and the rest do their thing as usual, killing everyone (or subjecting them to a hellish, brief future) and escaping relatively unscathed. This was a very fun, exciting read. Highly recommended.

I can't believe I just read a book in a series that is #119. I'm glad I did. I was able to get what was going on from start to finish. I'm going to scour EBay and see if I can find more deathland books. Lots of action. Also a fast paced quick read.

If you like trashy postapocalyptic books this is pretty great stuff. Surprisingly tight. Don't expect subtlety, symbolism, or deep plots or characters - expect mutants, guns, science, cackling evil villains and you have a chance of enjoying it.

This was the first Deathlands book that I ever read. I bought it at a yard sale for a dollar. It was a quick and entertaining read with good action and lots of mutated monsters. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.
