On a voyage to America from her beloved France, Lynna’s innocence is captured by the very captain who had sworn to protect her. Since his mere touch leaves her spellbound by an unwavering desire for the dashing rogue, she would have been content to spend the remainder of her nights nestled in his strong arms. Unfortunately, due to events beyond their control, when the ship docks in Charleston they part as enemies.

Years pass, but neither has been successful at forgetting the other.

When they again meet face to face and old desires are at once rekindled, Lynna is abducted by pirates and swept away to a lush tropical paradise. Will her rogue captain rescue her? Or will she accept her fate and submit to the notorious pirate captain?

Oh, motherfucker was this bad! I mean, the writing was alright, but the story was a steaming pile of horseshit. Lynna, oh goddamn Lynna is the dumbest human being to have ever graced the pages of any fucking book. No shit, she makes Anastasia Steele seem like fucking genius. The term 'dumber than a post' will never be more appropriately used than to describe her. And so, once again, I found myself sympathising with the villains, for making her life hell, albeit for different reasons.

Suzanne was a cunt, and a, er... black magician, I guess? Or a witch. I mean, she does voodoo, complete with dolls and shit. But she had so much more depth than Lynna, and so I liked her so much more. And she had a spine. Sure, she came in between our H and h, but damn, did she do it in style.

Oh, and let's not forget our rogue, Capt. Joshua Jordan, who puts his pulsating member into every fucking thing that breathes. That's about as much depth his character explores during the course of the story. The story itself was thinner than toilet paper, and the fact that Ms. Margo was able to stretch something as stupid and shallow as this to fill a good 370 pages kind of leaves me in awe of her. It's probably why she's a published writer, and I'm not. I do not mean that in a good way. At all.

And really, they had sex withing the first 30 pages of the book. I get that instalust is a thing, but for the love of all that is holy, wait some before the sex actually happens.

Oh, but why the two stars, you ask? The ending was magnificent.
"Miles away at Magnolia House, Suzanne clutched a voodoo doll that had been made to the likeness of Lynna. She fell back on her bed laughing maniacally as a malicious smile curved her lips. Enjoy this day of happiness, Lynna, for it will be your last." Yes, Lynna. Fuck you.

This was an "epic" romance. It's a very long story, with so many plot changes, its amazing. So much happens to this poor girl in ~4 years, I can't believe she's still smiling. That being said, the writing style was very easy, I read it in about 2 days. It can get frustrating at times, when H and h miss each other, and its very tragic the amount of "almost rapes" that the poor girl subjected to... (I'm surprised she is not in therapy. ) but overall I enjoyed the many adventures of Lynna and her Rogue Joshua. Happy Reading

I am torn on my review of this book. There were parts that I Liked and parts that I could of done without. I enjoyed Lynna's evolution from a naive girl to somewhat strong woman. Joshua was the typical male hero, but my goodness did he have to sleep with so many different women. I wanted him to stay true to Lynna and found myself mad at him when he didn't. I was upset when Lynna found Michael, but relieved when he kept to himself ( I am trying not to ruin anything!). This meant she was still Joshua's and that made me happy. This book keeps the romance in the readers imagination because they are brought together and kept apart with some insane scenarios. ( The island, Pirates, brothers of Pirates, scheming jilted lovers, attempted rapes, etc). I enjoy the journey to romance, but I want it to last in happiness once they get there. I can't help but feel like something bad is always waiting for these two and that makes me crazy!

I don't even...
It's not that it was a bad book - it was just implausible to be honest. I liked the first part of the story, and was looking forward to the 'revelation' that would mark the HEA for Lynna and Joshua then - BAM.
Turns out there are more crazy plot twists that just made the book stretch on. And the problem with parts of the story is that at some points they just weren't explored in enough detail, like (without giving away any big spoilers) Lynna's sudden recovery near the end.
My one another annoyance was with Joshua. He's in love with Lynna, and does grow to prove this love near the end of the story, but there were so many times I wanted to just kick him, urgh!
Anyway, I did finish this epic romance, so that's got to mean something. I can't say I loved it, can't say I hate it. I'd only recommend it if you're into prolonged epic romances that veer away from the traditional historical romance.

Meh??? This was an ok historical romance, which I periodically like to read when I need a break from the urban fantasy/paranormal romance that I typically read. The main characters were so and the first half of the book was kind of slow and boring. Second half a little better. Not sure if the series interests me enough to buy the second book. Maybe??? Maybe not???

No thank you. I could only get through a few chapters of this book. I know the author wanted to main character to be sheltered but she's almost to the point of a child. She doesn't know common sense items, was never taught basic interaction pieces. Maybe it's possible for someone to be like that but I just couldn't read about it. I don't mind a naive character but this was just ridiculous.
Save yourself the time, don't read.

I Fell In Love With The Man of My Dreams

Captain Joshua Jordan to hired to protect Lynna while on the way to America. Someone has threatening her life, because her father was very, very, very rich. And so to protect her he was sending her to her Aunt. But her life just keeps getting more difficult. I have never read a book where so much happens to one person.

BEAUTIFUL HISTORICAL ROMANCE

They certainly deserve all the happiness they can get. With all the trials and tribulations that they have gone through to get where they are now. Thank you for an engaging story that we were happy to read, Danny Scott.

Mediocre- Maybe

This actually was a fairly good read. It was written well but I had a hard time believing that so many hardships had happened to the lead character. It was a little suspicious. Overall not too bad!

Trouble

Lynna is a girl who is going to the new world
Joshua is a captain with no big plans for the future

When they meet, everything changes and improvements to the plans are made, but then challenges come . . .

Will they be together or separate?
Enjoy!

Free from Amazon. I think. ??

It has been quite awhile since I have read this book. Some parts of the book are memorable but not in a good way. Ha
I re-read this book last night and I really didn't enjoy it so much. Lynna is a young lady who is sent away from France for her safety. Or so her father thinks. I can't remember, or the book didn't explain what was the matter with France thus, the reason Lynna has to leave. Anyway, she is put in the protection of Captain Jacob, of whose ship she sails on to America. Lynna has family and friends who live in America and she stays with them. Her uncle is physically abusive and a drunk (father knows best) and she was taken advantage of on the ship.

Lynna's character does a lot of growing up in this book. She goes through so much in the space of a few hundred pages that I guess anyone would. The things she witnesses and has to deal with on a daily basis is enough to make a normal person crazy. The abuse, the attempted sexual assaults (yes, multiple, the persuasive rape (you know the kind where I ask you, I told you, it wasn't my fault, you never said no, kind of rape), slaves dyeing, a fire, sailing by ship several times, marriage, lies, misunderstandings and more.

There is so much sex in this book it quickly becomes laughable. Jacob, the hero, isn't sexy. He will screw anything and does in this book. The book draws the conclusion that Jacob falls in love with Lynna but really Jacob doesn't know what love is. Lynna just falls for his crap over and over again, and also has no clue about what real love is. I didn't like Jacob. I really wanted her to leave him.

What is the most appalling part of the book is the rape scene. An ex-love of Jacob's, named Suzanna, is at the pond with Lynna. They are grabbed by some strange men who attack them. Suzanna is surrounded by two men who rape her but during so she begins to enjoy it. Meanwhile, Lynna is just trying to survive but luckily fights her guy off. This scene was really disturbing to me.

It does help the reader to understand that Suzanna is an awful person. She is really mean, selfish, and will shag anything and anyone...clearly. Although she is the antagonist of the book, I just didn't love this addition to the story.

Overall, I know there are some who will think this book is a great sage, romance and that the characters go through so much blah blah blah but really, it is a book about amoral people who have no concept of empathy or sympathy for their fellow man. This book is about sex. If you have an issue with rape or applied rape, you are not going to like this book. I recommend skipping it.

Title: Lynna's Rogue
Author: Kitty Margo
Genre: Regency Romance in America and Historical Fiction
Review Rating: Five Stars
Reviewer: Linda Hays-Gibbs

A Very Different Kind of Tale
Captain Joshua Jordan is asked to care for the richest man in France, Nathan Rhodes' daughter, Lynna Rhodes on his ship, as she journeys to her Aunt Julia's in America.
Nathan is terrified his daughter will be kidnapped; since several attempts were made to get Lynna, and his wife was kidnapped and killed.
Captain Jordan will receive a huge sum of money to care for her and deliver her safely. He thinks its a great deal and will share with his crew but he has not see her yet. When he sees her beauty and innocence; he is completely undone. He is tempted beyond his control.
Lynna is so innocent that she doesn't know she is compromised until someone tells her. She is hurt and disillusioned by Captain Jordan and vows to never see him again. She goes to her Aunt's but does not hear from her father. She pines for Josuah.
Joshua pines for her but will not admit it. His father becomes ill and he must return to his estate and leave the sea. He finds Lynna close by.
This story weaves around your heart and mind. It is a very different kind of Regency with it based in America. I gave it Five Stars for originality and tension between the hero and heroine. It's a must read; if you love Historical Fiction.

Lynna needs a KNIGHT,
October 5, 2013
This review is from: Lynna's Rogue (Tropical Paradise Series Book One)
Lynna's beauty seemed to have been a curse for her and a test for the men she encountered. Men looked at her and acted to possess and to ravish her rather than seduce and love her. Consequently Lynna's journey to America and into womanhood was full of heart wrenching calamities that begged an answer to the question When Will It End?
Even Joshua, Lynna's Roque, often lacked an approach worthy of her admiration but it would seem his good looks gave him the advantage. This book challenges understanding of good, evil and human resilency. The age old question remains "why do bad things happen to good people?" Lynna's Roque does not offer an answer and too frequently interjects pain and suffering without recourse or so it would seem. This book is worth reading; however it plays havoc with one's emotions which accounts for my three star rating. Hopefully, Lynna's Beau, book two, will send a savior who looks to Lynna's heart and not just her body. ( I will now take a deep breath and begin book two).

Really bad

Where do I begin....the cover pic is awful. The book begins like a stupid porn flick...the naive, gorgeous, overly sexual woman and the captain who can't keep it in his pants....it is so rank ..nothing sensual or erotic or romantic at all. The dialogue throughout the book is bad...more modern lingo than anything. Then we have the description of the happy plantation slaves because they aren't beaten....what? Oh, yes...then we have the same naive, gorgeous, voluptuous woman who every male that sees her must have her! Of course, she doesn't even know where babies come from.... gag me! I barely finished reading this awful book. I want to know why, if she's so hot and wanton, she can't have a liaison with Rob, the huge black man who insists he must take care of her and protect her with his life....oh, barf! Do not pass go; do not collect $100....do not buy this silly, juvenile book. Pure trash. I am so disappointed.

OMG, I read this book last year and it was an awesome book!!! Lynna fleeing for her life from France and Joshua taking her to the States!!! There is so much turmoil in this book you just can't put it down and a crazy Suzanne to boot!!! Lynna fell in love with Joshua on the ship to the states but things were said and done that she leaves him!!! Joshua then is tricked into marrying Suzanne and Lynna is heartbroken!! You have love, loss, voodoo spells and so much more wrapped up in the first of several novels about this family!!! A+++

I couldn't make it past the first 1/4th of the book. Lynna was so, so dumb. I couldn't like a heroine who was that dense. Maybe she gets less unbelievably dense as the book progresses but I didn't hold out much hope. I didn't like that Lynna and the hero got together so soon, but that was topped by how dumb she was afterward. How naive can anyone be? Has a lot of good reviews but I guess I just can't handle a heroine who's profoundly unintelligent.

4 1/2 stars!

Its been quite awhile since I've read the book, but I still remember it like it was yesterday.
I would honestly read this book again. It was long, but well worth it. I loved the mysterious parts of the book, to the point where I literally couldn't put it down. Then when I went to put it down again, another twist happened. Overall, I absolutely loved it! Would in a heart beat read another of her books :)

I really loved the story line, and the fact that its over a long time scale really allows the characters and their relationship to develop. Lots of interesting twists throughout, and I thought it was brilliantly written. I got the book free on Amazon, and its one of the best ones Ive ever got for free. A brilliant read :)

Lynn's Rogue is spectacular

This is the story of a sheltered girl sent to America to evade multiple attempts on her life. She goes from a life of luxury to an uncertain existence in the instant of stepping aboard the ship to her destination, under the care of a captain who can't keep his eyes or hands off her. And that's just the beginning!

Lynna's Rogue ( Tropical Paradise Series Book 1)

The love story of Lynna and Joshua. Lynna's father send her way because someone want to kidnap her. He give her save over to Joshua. They fall in love. One think the author same not to know about house slaves was that they spoke English as good as their owner. You love this story.

My first encounter with Kitty Margo's books. I found it to be an okay book, not particularly great. The "adventures" became tedious for me. I would not read it again, but am not sorry I did read it.
