I wish I had waited until the 3rd and final book was out before starting this series. Too late now but that is what I would recommend if you haven't yet started the Earthbound series.
Once again I found that Benson is my favorite character. He makes this series for me.
This second book has a lot of twists and turns and you never really know who is a good guy and who is a bad guy. I found myself flying through this story and quite enjoying it.
I'm really not a fan of love triangles and this one doesn't really work for me as it feels more destiny versus choice. I'm a fan of choosing for yourself and hope the decision she made at the end of this book is one Tavia can stick with cause flip-flopping isn't working for me.

Earthbound was more of a miss for me, but I wanted to keep going on with this series so I decided to pick this one up. I always liked Tavia and Logan's relationship, and I totally wanted to see it grow and improve.
I didn't like this book. Just to take a note in the future, please don't recommend any of the books in this series to me. I never want to see this book ever again because of the catastrophe also known as the plot. *sighs* I feel like crying every time when thinking about this book because I love Aprilynne Pike's other books!
So you know, you boys can cry too if you'd like. :) This book took off right after where the first one did. At this point, Tavia is beginning to find out who she is. Her abilities are totally new to her, and of course, things at this point can go out of control at any moment. Logan is up to do anything to save Tavia from all of the crazy stuff going on in her world—but of course, they both end up getting captured. Then Tavia realizes that she's abnormal, surprise surprise.
My main problem is the idea. It's really too cliche, and I don't think that it needs to become a trilogy to capture the idea and add it into readers's minds. Fallen goddesses? This sounds like a wannabe of fallen angels, which I can barely stand either. I'm just not into the goddess idea—or mythology either.
The first 30 pages or so were racing. Aprilynne started off with a great action scene that kept me wanting to read this in one sitting. From there on, everything went slo-mo. The plot became thin, and I found that the book lost its magic, and so did the characters, who I once could really relate to, and who once, stories I really loved.
Unable to keep up with this turtle-motioned novel, I gave up. Sure, I'm #sorrynotsorry, but I do wish that I came to adore this trilogy like others may have. The average rating is really good, too! 3.98? That's an accomplishment. But I guess that this will be one of the rare negative reviews that you will find, fellow bookies.
Tavia lost her magic. She became annoying, and un-relatable. Like come on, you're a goddess, and you expect a prince charming following you at every corner, risking his life, when YOU have the ability to save HIM? Puh-leeze. I sure loved Prince Charming, aka Logan, who never lost his beauty and image.
In conclusion, I was looking for something much bigger and better. I was really disappointed with this—but if you absolutely adored the first, then go for this!

I don't think I can say much about this book without going into either huge spoilers or extreme fangirl-ese. So I will say this: everything I loved about the first book was quadrupled many times over, dusted liberally with awesomeness and plot twists, and slapped together between the covers of this book. I zipped through this book so fast at first I wasn't sure if I'd read it. So I read it again. (Yes, I do that with books I fall absolutely head-over-heels with.)
There needs to be a third book very soon, please! Oh and I'm torn between the guys, which doesn't happen often, but it's happened to me in this book. So yes, highly recommend. Definitely a "to buy as soon as possible" for me!

Oh my god! I can't believe I finished this book. I dreaded reading this book. I cringed when I saw this book. I've never cringed so much just from looking at a book.
The first book in the series was pretty interesting. The rest of Aprilynne's books are good. But this is a hot mess. It starts out good, with Tavia and Logan taken and have to escape, but every time they try, they fail.
Then... it just drags on and gets old and clichéd.
Tavia is so in love with Logan. Then suddenly she's not. Then she loves him. Then she doesn't because he only loves who she used to be and not who she is now. Seriously? The only reason why she's questioning the whole thing was because Benson came into the picture and Aprilynne decided she wanted a love triangle. It's old and tiresome. There's no need for this flip flopping nonsense. It was even more annoying when from the last book and the beginning of this book, she had to get with Logan because he's her diligo and they're eternal lovers. She had this strong connection that she had to do whatever it took to get to him. Then, suddenly, eh, it's not worth it anymore.
But that's the only thing. It's all about Tavia and only her can save the world! There's a virus that's killing people and only Tavia can help figure out a cure! Even though she has no idea what she's doing or anything about anything they're dealing with. After a few hours or maybe a day of a crash course, they send her to work with DNA and find a cure. Does that make sense to anyone? Honestly? Sure, random girl, you know nothing of what we're doing, but have all of our work and figure the answer for us since we haven't for years!
Things with Daniel, who's the head of... something or other, whatever they're called, get awkward to say the least. Tavia has a feeling Daniel is shady and hiding something. Others say and feel the same thing. Instead of really doing anything, they just wait and wonder what's going on. If I was them, I wouldn't. Not when they have the powers they do. Tavia is a freaking Mary Sue with her strong unlimited powers (yet she still has to lean on someone else to save her all the time) and can do whatever she wants. But instead of doing something, she waits. She never communicates or thinks about things either. It's obvious what's going on, but she's not seeing it. She doesn't see it until much later.
The "twists" and what not are obvious. I was rolling my eyes about them. Because it's all so convenient as well. Oh, you need to find out why the bad guys are after you? Benson is conveniently here for you. Need to wonder if Daniel is really good? Two random people seem to trust you and tell you a big secret about Daniel! Wonder what's going on where you randomly placed a secret room? Decide to create a kitchen and find a secret! Need a braid to get memories back? Convenient plot point. Need to feel sorry for evil Benson? Plot point! Need Benson and new friends to feel connected? Convenient plot point!
Ugh. I can't stand this book. It's not worth reading. It's horrible, clichéd, convenient plot point, messed up, Mary Sue filled book. I'm not reading more and I doubt I will read any more of Aprilynne's books. Loved the Wings series. Didn't mind the first one of this series. This has just annoyed me to no end.

I quite enjoyed book 1, and it left me wanting answers to my questions so I ordered book 2, realising it hasn't actually been out that long. I had to wait for it to come in at the library for me, and I found myself checking for it. Then I got the perfect chance to read it, I had to take my car in to be serviced last week and with a 2 and a half hour wait ahead of me, I settled into the waiting room and started to read.
I managed to get about three quarters of the way through the book in that time. And I found myself forgetting about the uncomfortable chairs and the long wait as I got absorbed into the book.
Tavia has found her other half, but he doesn't remember their past yet, she must convince him of their link before the bad guys get to them, but when she is too late Tavia has even more problems to conquer.
I don't want to give too much away, but there is a serious love triangle in this book - Tavia has fallen for Benson and he is back, but she is destined to be with Logan and you can't deny hundreds of years of connections. Love triangles tend to annoy me in most books but this was different somehow and I found myself trying to choose sides. Although to be perfectly honest I kind of hoped she wouldn't pick either of them in the end and just concentrate on what she should be doing - finding a cure before the whole world is destroyed.
It was good to find out more about the history behind the Earthbounds and the Reduciata, it made a lot of things much clearer and it was a very interesting concept.
To be honest I think book 2 was better than the first, I found myself reading faster, wanting to know what would happen, trying to figure out who was a traitor, etc.
There are still a few bits that annoyed me - Tavia is quite self involved and tends to overthink a lot, which ends up with a lot of her running off and crying. I understand things are hard and this is a bad situation, but come on. I kept hoping she would toughen up or at least turn to those around her for help but she just pushed them away too.
But it didn't put me off too much and I ended up really enjoying this book, annoyingly it doesn't wrap up and leaves me on another cliffhanger, and this time I have nearly a year to wait for the next one! grrr.

I give this book one star.
This book just made me mad Tavia just keeps on choosing Benson over Logan. I thought Logan was amazing I really like him in this book. Then Tavia saves Benson and leaves Logan to die. I was in tears at this point. I really feel think book has let down the series for me. Like book one Earthbound was a great book, and with this book I could put it down and really would not care if I did not read it. I really hated that Tavia kept thinking Logan is a stranger to her(which is kind of true) But Benson broke her heart let the bad guys kill the people she cared about. And she still chose Benson, I would have chosen Logan. And that's why I give this book one star.

But you always feel like he’s gonna kill you. Hopefully your uncle doesn’t think that about you. Also, his plans with the virus don’t really make sense until near the end of the book. So, there’s that.

I liked reading Earthquake even though i wasn't as excited as i was for the first book. It took me a little while to remember the storyline but even now i can't quite recall everything that happened. It didn't stop me from enjoying it.
It was intense and action-packed. That's how i'd describe it. From the start you have an idea of what you'll get all along the book. Benson was my favorite character even though I liked Logan too.

June 19, 2015I guessed there would be one more after this one and I am right. At least I very much hope I'm right. Lots of reveals and secrets in this one. It left me on the edge of my seat. Favorite part was the heroine coming into her powers! As with the Wings series, I'm really torn between two great guys.

I think this book was alright. I liked it at times, and then I didn't at others.
I'll start off with what I didn't like:
The book didn't really spend much time on the main problem, the virus. The author didn't even tell us what the virus was, just that it was killing millions of people everyday. Like, how did the virus even start?
Other than that, I didn't like the whole love triangle between Logan and Benson. Ugh I hated that. It got REALLY annoying and made me want to throw the book across the room (I didn't do that don't worry). Like, Tavia was supposed to choose

An interesting continuation of the series, I am quite enjoying being inside the mind of Aprilynne, I think this would be a cool movie if they managed to do it correctly.

Aprilynne Pike’s EARTHQUAKE is an incredibly exciting, nail-biting, suspenseful and action-filled second book in the Earthbound series. It takes readers back to a world that is even darker and deadlier than the one they left at the end of book one. The mystery goes even deeper, there are even more twists and turns, and with nearly everyone’s motives suspect, it makes for an unputdownable read.
With only a few memories of her past lives, Tavia Michaels doesn’t feel like the goddess she once was and is supposed to be. She feels more like a human than an Earthbound. She doesn’t remember what her abilities are. She doesn’t remember what secrets she is keeping. She doesn’t remember who she can trust and who she shouldn’t. She doesn’t remember what it is like to love someone eternally.
But if she is as powerful as everyone thinks she is, then she has to try and stop the deadly virus that is threatening to destroy the world and everyone in it. Even if it means working with the Curatoria to develop a vaccine. Even if it means temporarily putting her trust in those she’s not sure she should trust. On a personal note…
I loved the first book in this series. It was fascinating and different and romantic and heartbreaking. I loved it so much that I was worried that this second book in the series would suffer from sophomore slump. But I should have known, given how much I love this author’s writing and stories, that something like that would never happen.
EARTHQUAKE is an amazing follow-up to EARTHBOUND. It had everything that I loved about the first book in the series and then some. It was action-packed. It kept me on edge, wondering whether every new character I met had some ulterior motive. It tortured me in the very best of ways with the love triangle between Tavia, Logan and Benson. It made me anxious wondering just when the next devastating thing was going to happen.
It’s a book I never wanted to put down. It immediately grabbed hold. It made me question, it made me hope, it made me want to know more, it made me fall madly in love with it, right from the start. It surprised me, when I didn’t think I could be surprised. It stumped me – I love not being able to solve the puzzle a story presents instantly.

EARTHQUAKE was so easy to just dive right into. I loved that it picked up very shortly after the events in EARTHBOUND, not missing a beat. I loved that the pace sped up in this sequel. I loved every single thing about it… well, except for the fact that it had to end and that I have to wait for a year until the next book in the series releases.
With only a few memories of her past lives, Tavia Michaels doesn’t feel like the goddess she once was and is supposed to be. She feels more like a human than an Earthbound. She doesn’t remember what her abilities are. She doesn’t remember what secrets she is keeping. She doesn’t remember who she can trust and who she shouldn’t. She doesn’t remember what it is like to love someone eternally.
But if she is as powerful as everyone thinks she is, then she has to try and stop the deadly virus that is threatening to destroy the world and everyone in it. Even if it means working with the Curatoria to develop a vaccine. Even if it means temporarily putting her trust in those she’s not sure she should trust. Even if it means waiting to try and recover more of her missing memories. And even if it means having her heart torn between the boy she has loved forever and the one she loves in this life.
In this second book in the series, Aprilynne Pike ratchets up the excitement with a deadly threat, a ticking clock, a number of suspicious characters, peeks into Tavia’s past lives, a love triangle and a jaw-dropping, climactic conclusion, keeping readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. The story is full of shocks and surprises, tension, angst and heartache. And with the change in setting, the author is able to reveal more about the Earthbound – about who they are and what they’re capable of – and more about Tavia – about who she is, who she was, and what she’s willing to become.
The story is riveting, the mythology is original, the mystery will keep everyone guessing, the main character is likable and easy to connect with, the love story will make it tough to choose a side and the ending is killer, making EARTHQUAKE a definite must-read sequel.
On a personal note…
I loved the first book in this series. It was fascinating and different and romantic and heartbreaking. I loved it so much that I was worried that this second book in the series would suffer from sophomore slump. But I should have known, given how much I love this author’s writing and stories, that something like that would never happen.
EARTHQUAKE is an amazing follow-up to EARTHBOUND. It had everything that I loved about the first book in the series and then some. It was action-packed. It kept me on edge, wondering whether every new character I met had some ulterior motive. It tortured me in the very best of ways with the love triangle between Tavia, Logan and Benson. It made me anxious wondering just when the next devastating thing was going to happen.
It’s a book I never wanted to put down. It immediately grabbed hold. It made me question, it made me hope, it made me want to know more, it made me fall madly in love with it, right from the start. It surprised me, when I didn’t think I could be surprised. It stumped me – I love not being able to solve the puzzle a story presents instantly.

Meine Meinung:
"Die Liebe der Göttin" von Aprilynne Pike ist ein überraschender Abschluss, der zwar alles andere als perfekt, dafür aber sehr unterhaltsam ist.
Obwohl ich diesem Buch wirklich entgegen gefiebert habe, fiel mir der Einstieg unfassbar schwer. Ich konnte mich an so gut wie nichts erinnern, was vor allem dazu führte, dass ich die ersten Kapitel absolut nicht ernst nehmen konnte. Zu meiner Verteidigung: die Protagonistin stellt sich dort aber auch wirklich dumm an! Immerhin machten es mir der kurzweilige Schreibstil und die knappen Kapitel leicht, schnell mit der Geschichte voranzukommen.
Dank meiner fehlenden Erinnerungen und dem tölpelhaften Auftreten von Tavia, fiel der "erste" Eindruck nicht wirklich positiv aus. Ehrlich gesagt, habe ich mich sogar fürchterlich aufgeregt und mir graute es davor, die ganze Geschichte aus ihrer Perspektive zu erleben. Zum Glück war ich dann doch irgendwann wieder "mittendrin" und konnte dann auch einigermaßen mit ihr mitfühlen.
Ich hatte sogar ausnahmsweise Verständnis für das ungewollte Liebesdreieck. So unglaublich das auch für mich selbst war: die Autorin hat es glaubhaft verkauft. Leider unterstreichten manche damit einhergehenden Handlungen den Eindruck, dass Tavia eine ziemliche Egoistin ist. Ich wollte das selbst nicht wahrhaben, aber es gab zu viele Reaktionen, die schlicht und ergreifend egoistisch waren. Zugegeben, einige wurden später erklärt, aber so ganz hat es das nicht wiedergutgemacht.
Die Geschichte war dafür durchweg unterhaltsam und wirklich schnell gelesen. In letzter Zeit hatte ich das Gefühl, dass ich immer langsamer werde, aber mit diesem Buch habe ich meinen eigenen Rekord geschlagen. Es gibt einige überraschende Wendungen, fiese Intrigen und verheerende Entwicklungen. Meiner Meinung nach, hätte allerdings viel Negatives abgewendet werden können, wenn die Charaktere etwas mehr auf Zack gewesen wären. Ich habe leider auch nicht so ganz den Sinn der großen Intrige verstanden und konnte die "Götter" selbst am Ende nicht wirklich Ernst nehmen. Anstatt Stunden darauf zu verschwenden, dass Anwesen täglich neu zu dekorieren, könnten die "Götter" doch lieber etwas unternehmen, oder?
Alles in allem fühlte ich mich zwar gut unterhalten, aber überzeugt bin ich nicht. Ich hätte mich selbst mit dem sehr offenen Ende anfreunden können, wenn wenigstens irgendetwas erreicht wäre. So habe ich das Gefühl, dass der rote Faden unterwegs verloren gegangen ist. Wirklich sehr sehr schade!

Ich möchte mein Schicksal wirklich nicht in die Hände dieser "Götter" legen. Auch wenn ich eher enttäuscht bin, kann ich diese Dilogie durchaus empfehlen. Es ist kurzweilige Unterhaltung im Jugendbuchformat mit erfrischenden Ideen, die bestimmt viele Leser begeistern wird. Von mir gibt es an dieser Stelle aber trotzdem nur 3/5 Bücher!

Who will win her heart, Destiny or True love??
Will the Earth be saved or fated to be destroyed?!
Tavia has to found who and what she really is, try to save the world from death and destruction, as well, workout her confused feelings for two men who hold half of her heart.
I didn’t have any high hopes or great exceptions for this book, the only reason I picked up ‘Earthquake’ was because of the ending in ‘Earthbound’.
Earthquake has the actions, twist and bonding relationships, which was what the first book had little of.
I had an idea of what could happen in Earthquake but what Earthquake is and what happen, was a bit disappointment. The adventure that book #1 had, is all gone. The book stays in the same location for 3/4 of the book. The large amount of twists, there were only a hand full that I didn't guess, the rest of them were rather easy to recognise.
Throughout most of the book, Tavia is continually going back and forth between love interests and expressing how deeply she feels each time. I don't mind love triangles but the backward and forwards between men gets annoying.
The book would have benefited from having both Logan's and Tavis's Point of view, instead of just Tavis.
I was rather disappointed with Logan; one of our main characters. We didn't get to understand or know 'Logan' before he changes; I really would of like a few more chapters of having 'Logan'. I feel that with the quick change and the change in personally, Logan's character became distance, disconnect and is a hard character to fully like or become a favorite. I also think the author may of did this to make most readers change love interest teams.
Overall, the book was good, I enjoyed most of it. I was just expecting better from the second book. You can kind of guess what going happen in next book; I just hope it's portrayed well enough to be worth buying.

Parto dicendovi che purtroppo questa saga non mi ha soddisfatto come la precedente, men che meno questo libro.
Sicuramente Forever è migliore del libro precedente, Soulmates, sia in termini di scrittura, sia per quanto riguarda la modalità con cui vengono trattati i temi. Finalmente il lettore comincia a capire di più della storia, inizia a sentirsi parte di essa, che segue un filo logico e spiega i poteri e il passato degli Earthbound; ma allo stesso tempo i personaggi non mi emozionano, non riescono ad attirarmi.
Tavia mi sembra ingenua, indecisa su cosa fare e come agire, alcune volte sembra più consapevole di sé, ma non per molto tempo; Logan invece rimane un personaggio abbastanza piatto, poco delineato anche dopo aver scoperto la verità.
Il triangolo amoroso onestamente non mi ha preso assolutamente perché Logan in realtà è un personaggio bidimensionale, e nemmeno Benson riesce a catturare la mia attenzione, perché il triangolo amoroso in questa storia sembra finto, inutile, proprio come il personaggio di Benson, che risulta inserito forzatamente per questo unico scopo; paragonandolo al triangolo amoroso di Laurel, David e Tamani la faccenda è completamente diversa.
Il libro di per sé mi è piaciuto molto di più del primo, ma non siamo ancora ai livelli della precedente saga dell’autrice. Il lessico è ancora semplice e facilmente intuibile, ma forse in questo caso penalizza il libro perché fa risultare i personaggi piatti, bidimensionali, senza storia, attrattiva o quant’altro.
Ho anche una pessima notizia per voi (che fu devastante per me): la saga è sospesa in Italia perché la CE non ha voluto continuare la pubblicazione dei successivi romanzi. La serie sarebbe composta da 4 libri, ma in Italia sono presenti solo questi due, quindi se volete proseguire con la storia e scoprire cosa succede a Tavia e Logan dovrete leggere in lingua.

I thought, and hoped for a moment, that I will be able to rate this book higher but I just can't.
I feel like there was too much happening too quickly sometimes. The MFC was getting on my nerves way too often.
As much as I tried to understand her reasoning... sometimes she just didn't make much sense. She was not sure what she wanted, she way lying to herself at some point.
Logan deserved better.
The MFC doesn't deserve him in this lifetime.
At one point it felt like he might not be who he claims he is but it turns out it was just me being suspicious of all the characters. Please don't let him be dead, he's such a great guy and he would have done everything, literally everything, for her.
As for Benson... Okay, he is in love with her and maybe that changed him but that still does not justify why she chose him over Logan.
I love how quickly she learned how to work with DNA and the viruses and all, having NO education in the field and only one lecture from Daniel. I know she's basically a god, but be for real.
Hope they'll save the world at least!

It is with great sadness to say that I did not finish this book and I will not be continuing this series. Halfway through and I just couldn't keep reading this. I understand that Tavia and Logan are supposed soul mates, but we're hardy given anything as to why they still have an attraction to one another. Yes the whole curse thing, but beyond that I don't get why they had this intense and passionate relationship. I'm not going to lie, I actually decided to read reviews for the next book to see if this would be worth it and it's definitely not. I LOVED the first book so much and right now I'm pretty heartbroken over this. This book was just not as interesting. The romance turned to garbage. The characters are annoying and I heard some awful things about book three and I just can't bare to continue. I'm sorry.

I loved this book. I've read the first book in the trilogy, Earthbound, and I was hooked from the first page.
Tavia Michaels, still suffering from intermittent memory loss, is taken in by the group who call themselves the Curatoria. She draws closer to her eternal soulmate, Logan, even as she still yearns for Benson, the one she left behind. Will she do what is expected of her and stay with Logan or will she defy all the odds and follow her heart? And who can she trust?
Just like the first novel in the series, I could hardly put this down. I can't wait for the conclusion. If you love YA dystopian fiction, as I do, I would highly recommend this series.

Classico libro di mezzo di una trilogia, poco accattivante, non all'altezza del primo della serie. Per fortuna l'ho preso in prestito in biblioteca, non potevo fare scelta migliore, già "Soulmates" non mi aveva presa più di tanto, questo mi è piaciuto ancora meno. Forse leggerò comunque l'ultimo libro della trilogia in formato ebook, nella speranza che Tavia scelga Logan una volta per tutte, ma temo non succederà.

I wouldn’t want to be Tavia, she has so much going on with her life. She is amazing for handling it the best she can though. But when she is “rescued” and is brought to help create a vaccine, there is only one person that she feels the most comfortable with. Benson. Benson vs Logan. I’m not sure who to root for but I’m excited to see what happens after that entertaining cliffhanger

I should have read these closer together because there are so many details that are important. Very entertaining and ironically, there is a worldwide virus pandemic going on in the novel. Not why I picked this one up but I had to laugh when I realized it. Will be picking up the next in the series very soon.
