The second tall-but-true tale in the darkly comic new series SKELETON KEYS from the award-winning duo behind STITCH HEAD...
Greetings! My name is Skeleton Keys and these fantabulant fingers of mine can open doors to hidden worlds… Join me for the strange tale of Luna Moon, whose family is disappearing before her very eyes…
Luna is the only one to mourn the death of her grandfather Old Man Moon – the rest of her family couldn’t be happier to see the back of the bad-tempered old miser. But as they celebrate his demise with a giddy jig, Aunt Summer vanishes ... only to reappear as a painting.
While Luna is convinced her grandfather has kept his word to haunt them from beyond the grave, Skeleton Keys is certain that this is the work of an unimaginary. Can he get to the bottom of the mystery before the whole of Luna’s family disappears?
Guy is an award-winning author whose children's books series include Stitch Head, Skeleton Keys, Dinkin Dings, Spynosaur, The Legend of Frog and Atomic! In 2010 Dinkin Dings and the Frightening Things won the Blue Peter Award for Most Fun Book with Pictures.
Guy's has also written plays for both adults and children. He has previously been a theatre producer, illustrator, temp, gerbil whisperer and has acted his way out of several paper bags.
Guy spent his childhood reading comics and hoping one day to become a superhero. He spends his adulthood in more or less the same way.
Guy lives in London with his wife and no dog - yet.
What do you do when you can’t concentrate for long? You pick up a kids book of course! I was lucky enough to win this in a giveaway on Twitter and I can honestly say it’s saved my bookworm bacon!
A fun, spooky and clever little story which would delight any child or adult for that matter. Wonderful characters, fantastic artwork throughout and altogether a whole lot of fun! Highly recommend for confident readers aged 6+
“Should you wish to take a look Within the pages of a book You’ll find a world is waiting there To whisk you off to who knows where!”
What a hum-dum-dinger of a story and the revelation/ plot twist was mind boggling fun. This is definitely something I would have loved to have read as a child. Can't wait for the next adventure and looking forward to reading the Stitch Head series. Why have I never read any of these books by Guy Bass and the amazing ilustrator Pete Williamson, before? This series is bound to open many doors to hidden worlds. I wonder what other worlds lay undiscovered in the next series.
Also, I wish I could have unimagined my imaginary friends :)
Another slapstick funny from Guy Bass. Fantastically illustrated by Pete Williamon. A great adventure for the young kiddy winkles with a massive dollop of mayhem and a mountain of madness. LOOK forward to more SKELTON KEYS - will return! A great series for age 7+!
Absolutely loved the second book. A bit darker than the first one, but totally lives up to the Skeleton Keys hype! Glad to be back w Mr. Skeleton Keys & friend ;)
Bass Straight #2 Skeleton Keys #2 Well more of the same here really, not terrible, just average diverting stuff. Onward to book #3 I guess Interesting that I read this almost 4 years after the publication date according to Goodreads anyway, which is probably about as accurate as Fox News!
Fabulous story. I wasn't sure before I started it but it was so good and read it in one day. The plot was brilliant and the characters were brilliant. Looking forward to reading the next book.
The first one was a good stepping stone. This one was a great sequel. Made me want to pick up the third immediately and see what else these characters will get up to. Good twists and well-written. Definitely a good addition to the series.
Another rip roaring, Unimaginary tale! Guy Bass is my go to for a funny, pacey, read for seven to ten year olds. An interesting concept of imaginary friends coming to life, becoming Unimaginary. Skeleton Keys and Daisy to the rescue! Fabulous!
