While baby-sitting, Sara heard strange fiddle music in the attic. She later learned who had lived -- and perished -- in that house years ago. Peggy was baby-sitting for two little girls whose beds began to shake on their own. The police were baffled. Then a noted investigator discovered the real cause of the ghostly disturbance. Another baby sitter noticed that a 4-year-old boy's scribbles on a note pad were actually a form of short-hand writing. The boy's message revealed a shocking family mystery. The secret grave 4⭐
Baby-sitter and her charge are seeing a ghost while as family's on vacation. The ghost Helen even shows them where she buried her baby that died which was kinda sad. When she was alive no one could figure out where baby was because she'd been so sick. Was told in diary entry form.
The uninvited 5⭐
Emily babysits and at first thinks it's the boys doing all the pranks. Chairs moving basketball rolling down hall even banging noises. Later they find out it's a poltergeist that's unhappy that kids live in the house he once did. I thought was hilarious when cops were called and about flipped out.
The runaways 2⭐
This was just sad. Two runaway brothers escaping horrible life wanting to be free are killed and their ancestor has to watch their deaths. History is just wrong at times and this part was.
The phantom fiddler 3⭐
The ghost of a boy plays the fiddle for girl and her babysitter. He was killed locked in the attic for punishment for playing the fiddle. So sad.
The Pest 3⭐
A boy's mom asked him to babysit for her new friends son. And when he does they're all into ghosts and spirits and everything and their sons wanting to read a book about the day of the dead. However odd stuff keeps happening. There's a little boy keeps saying it's never happened before. The cat keeps trying to attack him the doors keep opening to the house and the cabinets. He gets locked in the bathroom. So when the parents get home they say that it's been happening since they moved in. The only thing I don't guess why the little boy kept saying it didn't happen before.
The Skeleton Ghost 4⭐
Ghost named Mary is haunting a house. She is lonely and all alone. The babysitter finds out later that what was said through her charge wasn't the girl playing games was real and has newspaper prove it. They set ghost free.
These 'Haunted' series by Mr Zullo are very nice to read. He's taken known stories of real life experiences and put them into these books. Short stories that are easy to get into and easy to read. Depending on who you are talking to and who 'believes' will depend upon if you believe these are real too
Definitely not something, I would pick up and read, but I know I have students who are always looking for scary books. I think these are appropriate for grades 4 and up.
This was a good book. I used to devour every Allan Zullo book I could get my hands on. I still like his books just not as much as I used too. I love ghost stories. (Even if they are exaggerated)I recommened this book to all younger kids that have an intrest in the supernatural. Thats about it for now.
Read this a couple years ago... The first story was really kinda scary especially if you're reading it while creepy guitar music is playing in your house... :O All the other stories were good too! In conclusion: DO NOT read "Demon Doll" while listening to creepy guitar music, you have been warned! P.S. That's the first story....
