Kathleen's Blazing Battle continues the story of an enthusiastic and determined twelve-year-old girl growing up at the dawn of the 1930s. Winter has melted into a scorching summer and Kathleen finds herself fighting to help save the family farm from one of the worse dry spells in Ohio's history. But when a masked enemy launches a scare tactic on a neighboring farm, innocent lives are threatened and Kathleen finds herself in the middle of a fiery battle. Will her faith dry up or hold firm?
Tracy Leininger Craven loves history and the stories of those who have left an indelible impression on our country's heritage. She is also inspired by the testimony of God's faithfulness through seemingly impossible circumstances. Her stories of real people come alive and serve to inspire a new generation of readers. In her free time, Tracy loves to be outside enjoying God’s creation with her husband David and their three children.
This book destroyed my little twelve-year-old heart when I first read it. Parents, if your child is a sensitive reader, do beware that there is a fire, a subsequent death, and that the KKK is discussed. (But it's a great book...it just obliterated me at the time.)
I love how strong Kathleen is when all around her she is under testing. Her family farm is experiencing a bad drout and at the same time a neighbor is attacked by the ku klux klan who light fire to there fields. Her cousin is killed while trying to save someone but everyone else is fine. It is sort of sad but mostly I loved it and have read it more that 3 times already. I strongly recommend reading this!
