Gross. A 700 year old vampire stalking a 6 year old girl? Nah this book needs to come with major trigger warnings. The entire concept was disgusting. There is absolutely NOTHING attractive about a vampire ejaculating blood. This was the first book I’ve ever not been able to finish just because of how horrific the concepts are but the author tries to write them off as sexy- it literally made me sick. If there was an option for negative stars this would be the time to use it.

I received a copy of this book from World Castle Publishing in return for an honest review.

This book is quite possibly the worst that i have read this whole year.
Rating- 0.5 stars.

I hate starting reviews like this, i really do. However, this book had me pulling my hair out in irritation.
Therefore, for the sake of honesty, I feel compelled to explain all my feelings, including why i disliked this book with a intensity of a thousand suns.

"The Mist is a part of me. I can't let go. I...don't know how to."

You know those books that has your gut screaming "Caution! you will hate this, please listen to me!!!"
And then the stubborn dunderhead that you are, ignore the voice of wisdom because you see so many 5 star reviews, and choose to review it anyway?
I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE VOICE OF WISDOM AND TRUTH!

Reasons why i disliked this book:
1. Insta-love
2. Insta- Lust
3. Insta- everything!!
4. Irritatingly stupid female protagonist.
5. Declarations of love within seconds of meeting.
6. Did i mention, irritatingly stupid female protagonist?
7 LOVE-FREAKING-TRIANGLE
8. Chick who brings all the boys to the yard but is really, really irritating (sorry there's no other word for it).
9. the writing...dear god.

These are just a few reasons....

Let me tell you something (now this may contain potential spoilers, please tread with care)

This book begins by a mist in a shape of a man appearing in a young girl's life- so, in this part here I'm intrigued, kind of nodding and fascinated.

Then we get said girl (Beth) who is with her boyfriend, whom she quickly professes her love. However, the moment he tries to get more serious (A.k.a moving in), she decides that she simply loves the vaporous entity way too much to possibly give her heart...TO HER BEST GUY FRIEND WHOM SHE HAS KNOWN SINCE DIAPERS! smart! real smart chick!

The Lord Vladimir (kidding, his name is Phillippe Delon) appears, claims he's the vaporous lordship and they (having met only seconds ago) chose to go to his mansion. Beth fully knowing he's a vampire...yes, this girl should win an award for being street-smart. then...having met him a full 5 minutes, decides to move in with him. That's right, boyfriend she's been with for years ask for her to move in, the answer is no. A blood-sucking dude, she met for 5 minutes- she says yes...*facepalm*

The words of love began to sprout like freaking daisies, the 'i would die for you' made me contemplate leaving this world and then to aggravate the situation...we got a love triangle.

And now this fantastically, stupid and irritating character has 2 vamps and 1 human who are in love with her and dying (positively dying) for her affections. Bless her heart, she can't seem to figure who she loves more, so kiss all of them, yes, kiss all of them sounds great! NOT!

lkwwalkfnalkfndasvndavklewflkwe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*Headache*

*takes a deep breath to calm down*

Some parts i just looked at it and wondered what the heck was going on-

"Beth, your beauty captured me, even as a child."
In this context a grown 700 something year old was perve-ing on a kid...nice,
*ring, ring*
"yes, hello, I'd like to report a pedophile please..."

oh, oh!

"...I believe you're right, we're destined to be together"

kill me right now.

"Beth your beauty dazzles me like a hand-painted porcelain doll, striking, yet delicate."

This book is inundated with ways to call this chick beautiful, WE GET IT!

Ah! i just can't....this book!

new addition to my- read-if-you-hate-yourself-shelf. I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be rude, nor mean. But this is my honest opinion.

Stay Awesome!

Immortal Kiss is a romantic paranormal fantasy written by Laura Daleo. Since she was very young, Beth has had a secret friend who she never really got to see. He came to see her as a mist that would sometimes assume the general shape of a man. On her seventeenth birthday, he covered her bed with rose petals, and Beth could not help but realize that she was in love with this otherworldly being. Beth's best friend, Danny, has also been in love with her for years and, several weeks before she turned 25, suggested that, since they'd been going out together for four years, the two of them start living together. They were sitting on their favorite bench overlooking the beach when he made that suggestion, and he was tired of hearing about the mist and dealing with the emotional ambivalence Beth was feeling. That evening, Beth would finally get to meet the being behind the mist, and nothing would ever be the same again.

Laura Daleo's debut romantic fantasy novel, Immortal Kiss, is enthralling and entertaining. Beth's phantom lover turns out to be very real and quite irresistible, and it's fun to watch the two of them bring their metaphysical relationship into the real world. Phillipe Delon is a dream come true for Beth, and she's quickly swept up into his world, but Daleo plants the seeds of discord early on in their budding romance, cueing the reader for something momentous to occur. I enjoyed seeing how the author tied vampires and vampirism with Egyptian mythology making her tale stand out and giving it dimension. While the story has a strong romantic theme, it contains no sexually explicit or erotic scenes, and the coming of age story implicit in Immortal Kiss would seem suitable for mature young adults as well as for an adult audience. Daleo has a planned sequel, Bound by Blood, which promises to continue the compelling tale of Beth and her vampire. Immortal Kiss is highly recommended.

This book gave me a headache. Here's the thing, I knew romance was a prominent part of this book. Despite very few of my favorite books fitting squarely into the romance genre (with Sherrilynn Kenyon being the only modern romance author to appeal to me at all, and only having read some of her stuff, even then), so many of my favorites do contain some romantic plot points, so I'll never write off an awesome sounding just plot just because characters get a bit lovey-dovey. I wish I had, though.
description

Since the MC, Beth, was six, a mist gravitated through her bedroom window every single night, and sometimes materialized into a humanoid shape. Instead of blaming it on weather patterns or ghosts, you know, logical stuff (yes, I said ghosts and logical in the same sentence, and no, I'm not taking it back!), Beth falls in love with it like a boyfriend.
description

When Beth is 25 at the start of chapter 1, she's wildly in love with the mist, but stringing along a guy who's been sweet to her up until that point. I'm not really sure why she's stringing him along, if it's sex or what, because she's just SO IN LOVE with the mist and has a roommate for company. Her boyfriend does take the breakup hard, but he did get dumped for a then-imaginary friend, so I can't blame him for it.

So it happens that this mist really is a physical being, but it only gets weirder when he shows himself. Not only is Beth cool with dating a guy who's visited her every night since she was learning still learning how to add and he was a full-grown man, but she's instantly in love with him and they boink half-a-dozen times in just a few nights after they officially meet, but he's totally rich and hot, so it's cool and totally not creepy.
description

Stuff happens later, but it takes so long to start and the book is over so quick after it starts that I'm not even interested in picking up the sequel this seems to promise.

In all fairness, there's a market for books like these. If you like gushy, Love Conquers All-type stories, this is for you. If you've exhausted all other options, that is.

Prepare yourself for the secret world of the vampire gods, their thirst for blood and the laws created to prevent the extinction of mankind. Unknown to humans, there are things that are deadly, that stay in the shadows and Laura Daleo’s Immortal Kiss takes us into the world of vampires, love, lies and what it means to be the next human sacrifice that saves the world.

Beth has always felt she was being watched, but she took comfort from the strange mist that she knew meant her no harm. Love emanated from the mist and soon, it became part of her fantasy life, her imaginary lover. The night Philippe came into her life, she thought he was the mist personified. Was he or was he a vampire who has found an unlikely love? Will the laws of the vampire world take Beth from Philippe to fulfill her role as a gift to the gods or has the letter of the law already been corrupted by one god’s forbidden fascination with the beautiful woman? Is there another who will do anything to condemn Beth to true death, and tear her from Philippe?

Edgy and dark, with a sweet romance nestled within, Immortal Kiss is filled with almost cinematic detail as Laura Daleo stages and directs each scene with great care and a flare for creating even more vampire lore to pour over! Beth and Philippe together are like a gentle and warm caress, their love is a wonderful thing. When the tension rises, ever the protector, Philippe will die for the woman he loves and Beth is not about to let that happen. That is romance! With a cast of vampires to round out this tale, the personalities run from roguish charmers who hide true loyalty to pompous gods who have forgotten their own inner goodness. Settle in,prepare for a read to be savored and just enjoyed, the pace is relaxed, the twists are creative and the vampire legal process? Well, they may be on to something there.

When I started reading this I wasn't very sure of what was going on. We know there's this girl who's been living her whole life with some kind of mist who comes visit her in her room. Then she spends years dating her childhood friend and, suddenly, the guy who's supposed to be the mist shows himself and asks her to move in with him immediately. And she says yes.

Not only does she say yes, but she doesn't even take her stuff with her. I mean, girl, don't mean to be a party pooper, but people do break up sometimes. How can you move in with a guy you barely know and just leave your belongings at your old apartment because "he's got a house full of stuff"? Be realistic, girl.

Then they are completely in love with each other and Beth starts turning into some kind of half-vampire from receiving Philippe's blood... because vampires ejaculate blood.

And by the way, haven't we had enough of those "always use a condom" lessons?? Wear your condoms, people.

But that didn't really surprise me, Beth proved to be very immature and not too bright during the whole book. Just leave it to her to make the worst decisions possible, she doesn't even stop to think about any consequences her actions could lead to.

This was also so full of contradictions that I found myself lost more than once. And everything happens way too fast.

But I'll admit that the story about how vampires were born was really cool and original. I do enjoy mythology a lot, so seeing that and vampires put together was very nice.

Vampires are not my thing. I never even read Twilight. Nope. Or Vampire Academy. So this review comes to you from a vampire inexpert, who, in the spirit of Halloween, decided to step out of her comfort zone and give this a try.

As soon as I read the prologue, I was convinced I'd made the right decision. Still, I am not a fan of blood so certain things made me a tad queasy -like Phillippe's bodily fluids being ALL blood, for example. But putting that aside because well, he's a vampire (duh, what was I expecting), I was surprised to find that many other aspects did interest me. I loved the history behind vampirism and the way the author explains everything to us in detail, including the part that the gods played, etc... It was very creative and not what I was expecting -definitely more interesting than just plain old vampires.

I wasn't aware of the fact that there would be a love triangle and I always steer clear of those because I like happy endings all around. So while I was mentally prepared for vampires and blood, I wasn't expecting this. I don’t want to give anything away but basically, at some point in the book what we thought was true turned out to be something else. I struggled with this discovery for a while, along with the usual anxiety that love triangles give me, especially when you really love both and don't want anyone to get hurt. The story is set to be continued in the next book so we don't find out all the answers yet. Hopefully, there will be a happy ending for all three!

Immortal Kiss, by Laura Daleo, is about how years ago there were ten very powerful vampire gods who were hungry for blood and how their desire for blood almost caused the human race to vanish. As a result, the vampire gods chose twelve very smart, individuals and transformed them into vampires, but also made them write laws and rules that the ten vampire gods had to live by. One of these rules is the blood lottery for the human race. In this blood lottery, a person is chosen to be given up to one of the powerful ten gods so that they can be drained of their blood. Who the person is for the blood lottery is not revealed to the ten powerful gods until that victim’s twenty-fifth birthday. The human race does not know of this blood lottery.

This story is written in a very detailed manner. It’s interesting to learn about each character as they emerge and how much Philippe cares about Beth. As the story continues, the full vampire history is revealed, including why vampires have to live by certain rules. It’s also heartwarming to learn that Philippe will do anything to keep Beth, as well as the source of Beth’s ability to read minds and communicate with others telepathically.

Immortal Kiss will keep readers on the edge of their seats, clearly appealing to those interested in paranormal romance. Also, those who aren’t interested in the genre, specifically vampire love stories, should still read this book, because it can change their minds. Daleo's novel has surprises at every turn and will not disappoint.

This is a paranormal read which I am utterly in love with! The story I crisp and clear with very descriptive language which leaves you wanting more and more. This is the first book and what a first book it is. It is a stunning piece of writing which I feel honoured to have been given the chance to read as an ARC.
The story is set as a young girl (Beth) and boy (Danny) who are in love and have been together from a very young age but Beth makes no secret of the mist who stole her heart years go and she just cannot give it up. The mist of course is vampire lover who Beth is utterly besotted with and turns her back on the boy she has loved and been with for most of her years. Don’t be fooled there are twists and turns in the story that will leave you flabbergasted but I promise you it is not disappointing.
The characters are fantastic and although some are only touched upon in this book I am sure the rest will become more known in future books. Beth is just delightful with a slightly troubled past but she never gives up and she fights for what she believes in. I truly felt all of her emotions.
I have always admired authors of paranormal stories as their imaginations must be so vivid to produce such amazing work. This is no exception to that. Thank you for such talented work.
I will be reading more from this author.
I rate this story 5 absolute stars!

OMG! This was such an awesome book!!! The world that Ms. Daleo created with Beth and Philippe is so amazing. There are some completely unexpected twists involved as well. As I went on this journey, I felt so many emotions it wasn't even funny! I cried, laughed, cringed, got angry, and was happy. I love it when books can take me through the gamut of emotions. The bad thing about that though....the book ends eventually. But that is another great thing about Immortal Kiss (as if there weren't enough already)...there's a BOOK 2 COMING!!! Yay! I can't wait. I know that the moment it comes out, I will be devouring it as fast as I can. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take this journey! A full 5 STARS!

When I read the title i hoped it wouldn't be anything like twilight series. Surprisingly it was not it was so much more. I'm not much of a paranormal romances reader but, since it's almost Halloween I said why not.

the story went by in a steady pace it didn't feel rushed at all. the characters weren't that well developed. but, made it with adding the Egyptian gods. I love anything that involves ancient Egypt. Just knowing that they author included that in the story made me like it much more. It was a little dark which I did not mind I love dark reads which was a plus to me.

Can't wait for the sequel.

I thoroughly enjoyed Immortal Kiss. The story flowed from the pages and I read it in a day. I can't wait for the sequel!. The characters could have used a bit more developing, but I grew to like them anyway, even Caleb
I liked the way the Egyptian gods were written into the book and would like to see more of them in the next book. It had a few surprises and twists, always nice to see. I would definitely recommend this book, great read!

Incredible debut! I was drawn into the story and characters right away. The author does a great job of setting us up for the next book. Philippe and Beth make this book come to life. Plenty of action and sizzle to keep me turning the pages. Little surprises along the way kept me intrigued. Lately, I've been in a bit of a reading slump when it comes to good paranormal romances. If this is the author's first book, then I think we can expect great things for future novels.

This was a Goodreads win...
My fave type of book is the dark fantasy/supernatural type... And this fits the bill!
I am thankful that I won this book, and I 100% want to read the next installment... I want to see what happens with Beth, Amon and Phillippe... To share love between three people can get complicated, and this did.

Looking forward to the next book!

The book starts off slow but by the end you are left wanting more. This book has vampires and romance twisted together with some Egyptian gods. A love of one woman who must decide were her heart really lies.

I hope the next book will tell us more of the gods as well as how a love divided can work. Also hope to see Caleb get hit by love, just to put him in his place.

Beth has been followed by this mysterious mist her whole life. In time, she had come to fall in love with this mist. Years later this mist reveals itself to her as a man named Philippe. From there their relationship furthers quickly, and she moves in. Their love is the stuff of dreams.
After a passionate night, Beth observes strange signs she is not her usual self. Her blood mixed with Philippes turns her immortal. She is enveloped by this beautiful story and world Laura has created for us. With much striking detail it could compel one to desire to be apart of it.
She even ties the side characters to be just as important as the main ones. I was partial to Anna (the best friend), caleb (someone close to Philippe), and Betty (Philippes caretaker.) In fact, it is through one of them she learns about The Council, her ties to a certain blood lottery, and the true origin of the mist, thus introducing one more important figure into her life. How will things end up? This is def one to read (with a couple astounding twists and one big hearing of the Gods.)

Immortal Kiss is the first book in the Immortal Kiss series by Laura Daleo. Immortal Kiss pulled me into its world from the first chapter and didn’t let go until the last page. But even now as I sit here writing my review it is still heavily on my mind. Once I picked up Immortal Kiss I couldn’t stop turning the pages.

I love the world that was created for Immortal Kiss. I love the unique and new twist on vampires. I don’t think I have ever read anything like this before. Well, not the twists on vampires. I love how Laura Daleo combines vampires and gods together in one story. I can’t wait to read more in the Immortal Kiss Series.

Beth Ryan has been seeing a misty figure out of the corner of her eye since she was a child. Beth has wanted to meet the misty figure for a long time. Beth’s boyfriend wants to take their relationship to the next level by asking her to move in with him but Beth is not ready.

But then she meets the misty figure and learns he is Philippe Delon, a 700-year-old vampire. After only knowing Philippe for a little while he asks Beth to move in with him and she accepts. Crazy right? But she has sort of known him for a long time from afar. I guess it was a love-at-first-sight sort of thing.

But then things take another twist when another vampire is introduced into the mix. This new vampire has a thing for Beth as well. Well, now things started to really heat up as I was hanging on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen now. I mean wow two vampires to choose from. Oh my, what is Beth going to do? Who will she choose? A better question is who is her heart going to choose?

Immortal Kiss is a very fascinating and enthralling story that kept me glued to the pages wondering where the story was going next. The world-building is just awesome. I have to say again that the storyline is fabulous. What more could you ask for I mean you have vampires, gods, and romance.

IMMORTAL KISS

LAURA DALEO

Review by Author Murry

While I raided the kitchen, Philippe prowled the streets in search of human blood... Beth's love has no boundaries, LOL. A human, she was in love with a vampire.

His mist was around all her life. Or was it? His and her transfers into something they allow to happen because of an infatuation is a story of a romance that is deadly.

Of course, as a human, I laughed at the vampire and human relationship they had, but the writing was well thought out and enjoyable. Ms. Daleo characters are colorful and set up for a sequel.

The storyline has twists and turns that keep the reader wanting more. In the end, you are sucked into the next level of Beth and Philippe's relationship to be able to love each other without vampire turmoil.

-I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Immortal Kiss, by Laura Daleo, is a paranormal romance about falling in love with a lie, all the while saying goodbye to a dream that had blossomed in the innocence of youth.

Beth has recently broken up with her boyfriend after choosing the mysterious, yet charming, Philipe. After exposing Beth to the dark, enchanting world of vampires, initially, Beth and Philipe were content. However, after a brutal encounter with Philipe’s creator, along with unveiling the macabre secrets Philipe had been hiding, Beth begins to understand just what lurks beneath the elegance she was enticed by. With each scandal uncovered, Beth realizes that not everything is as it seems, and that if she wants to be happy, she has to fight for it herself, regardless of what other people may think.

Honestly, I can understand where Beth is coming from. I used to have the same fantasies when I was little. She was swept away by the dark fairytales awaiting her. The servants, the castle, the tall, dark, handsome prince; it was a dream come true, so much so that it was almost suspicious. I feel that Beth trusts Philipe too much, to the point where she unwittingly allowed herself to be hurt by him. I commend the fact that Beth managed to catch onto his ruse, although I can’t comprehend why she still loves him, despite everything he’s done to her. She has a fiery temper I would’ve loved Daleo to explore, but unfortunately, there wasn’t much of it in the book. Still, the conflicts Beth faces added to the plot. I also loved Caleb, and found Amon more likable than Philipe. Why Philipe decided to interfere with the blood pact between Amon and Beth still alludes me.

This leads me to the theme of deception. I loved how Caleb and Anna attempted to serve as a wakeup call for Beth. They know that there’s something very wrong with the relationship between Beth and Philipe. Even the Council finds the entire marriage suspect, though they did, admittedly, restrain Amon. The love and lies entertained in the entire situation is so enticing, I’m surprised no one was killed (you know, aside from Anna…). Amon and Philipe’s obsession with Beth, the lying, and even Anna’s challenging to Caleb; it all stems from the pride and selfishness both Beth and Philipe exhibited. They knew the dangers of the world, yet they still chose to endanger people, if only for their fading, evanescent love. This love can blossom into some of the most beautiful romances I’ve seen, but it can also lead to the most terrible of tragedies. Through these emotions blossom the desire to lie, to deceive, if only to keep the person you love by his side.

There were a few detractions. For instance, there were some spacing errors, with a few stray letters here and there. But despite that, I enjoyed the book. Beth reminded me of an abandoned princess that realized she was going to have to fight for her happy ending. The way Daleo incorporates selfishness and deception was also good. Thus, I would give this a rating of a 3.7 out of 5 stars, and would recommend it to those who enjoy The Last Valentine by Felix Alexander, and the Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer.

I adored this book! I just love vampire novels, they are my guilty pleasure! Within the pages of Immortal Kiss you will find love, mystery, deceit and how vampires came to be! Immortal Kiss is very Anne Rice-ish, only less gruesome, softer somehow. The way in which Laura Daleo spun her version of Vampire Mythology was wonderfully refreshing and completely original!

Let's delve into the plot. At times there were happenings that were very predictable. For me this wasn't a problem whatsoever, I had so much fun reading this book! Of course as I stated in the above paragraph, this book was in other ways completely refreshing and original.

I found that the setting and the theme in this book was immensely enjoyable and utterly addicting! I loved how it all started on a cold winter’s night with a mysterious mist. From that moment I was ready to dive right into Beth’s story!

I want to touch base on Beth and Philippe’s relationship. In the beginning they move extremely fast, she pretty much moves in with in a day after ‘officially’ meeting him. Any other time I’d say to myself “Hold up a minute, what the heck??”. However under the circumstances, since Beth knew the mist her whole life I feel their fast-paced relationship was appropriate.

Now let’s talk secondary characters. Philippe’s best friend Caleb. Caleb is Philippe’s maker, so they are pretty close. I’d say as comparable as best friends or brothers. Don’t let their relationship fool you, they are complete opposites, but they do say opposites attract. Out of all the characters in this book, I’d say Caleb affected me the most. In the beginning he’s a complete ass, well he’s actually an ass all the way through the book but we get to see him from all facets later on in the story. I’m going to go out on a limb here and compare him to Damon Salvatore from Vampire Diaries! You know, when you meet him he totally gets under your skin, but by the end you’re totally in love with him!

Do you love vampire novels? Or how about books about true love being your destiny? Oh hey, or better yet, mythology that goes all the way back to the Egyptian Gods? Immortal Kiss By Lauren Daleo is a sci-fi and fantasy read.
Centuries ago ten powerful vampire gods first walked the earth; their blood thirst knew no boundaries. The destruction of mankind was inevitable. Recognizing their weakness, they selected twelve wise human beings to transform with their godly blood. These twelve, known as The Old Ones and The Council, govern The Ten. A blood lottery appeasing The Ten’s hunger was set forth into the human world and passed down every fifth generation, continuing into the present day. All of Beth Ryan’s life a mysterious mist watched over her, a mist she believed to be a vampire. On a cold winter night, she comes face to face with Philippe Delon, a 700 year old vampire with a human soul. Beth is certain Philippe is the vampire behind the mist. She is drawn to him, accepting his immortality without question or fear. Beth and Philippe cannot deny their love for each other, nor do they try to fight it. Within days of their encounter, Beth accepts Philippe’s invitation to move into his mansion. The mansion unlocks the door to the vampire world and exposes secrets from Beth’s past. Within its walls, she learns the true identity of the mist, her link to the blood lottery, and betrayal of her loved ones. Surrounded by lies, Beth stands before The Council begging for resolution.
I love vampire books and this was not a disappointment. Cleverly written with brilliant characters. Highly recommended. 5* from me. thanks to netgalley for the arc.

This is an intriguing mix of paranormal, mythology, mystery and romance, the first book in a new series.

This is one of those stories where it would be much too easy to write a review which inadvertently contains spoilers so I’m going to try to avoid naming names or giving too much information regarding the plot – I don’t want to spoil it for anyone else! As a child, Beth was visited by a mist which gave her love, left presents and actually could be seen by others, so wasn’t a figment of an overactive imagination. The being behind the mist claims to love her and, even in her early twenties, it is still influencing her choices in life. A few weeks before here twenty-fifth birthday many things start to be revealed . . . . But I’m not going to tell you them here, you’re need to read the story to find out more!

This story has a relatively slow start then the pace hots up. As vampires, Egyptian gods and goddesses, twists on ancient myths and romance all come into play, this becomes more of a mystery and the ending leaves the reader happy to have so many things resolved but wanting to read the next book to find out what happens next! I hope I get to read the next book, ‘Bound by Blood’, very soon but it doesn’t appear to be available yet!

Thanks to the Author, publisher and NetGalley, too, for letting me read an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

The author has a talent for description and the world she has created is vivid in detail. I loved the concept of the vampire gods (The Ten) and the council that they created to keep them in check. We only meet them briefly toward the end of the book but I'm sure they will have a larger role in the next installment.

Beth is overly naive which did put me off a bit. She gave up her whole life-her home, her job, her friends, for a man she just met because she believes he is the mist that has been with her her entire life.

The love triangle made me uncomfortable. I felt there was no chemistry between Beth and Amon. Beth and Philippe are believable as a couple even if their relationship was rushed. The ending leaves little resolved in that regard because of some meddling and a love spell, that will wear off, one of the male looses interest.

Overall it was one of the better paranormal romance books that I have read recently.

I would like to thank Laura Daleo and Goodreads First Reads for my free copy of "Immortal Kiss". I really enjoyed this book. The storyline was great and the characters were AwEsOmE. Beth new the mist. When Phillippe showed himself and claimed to be th mist, Beth was so excited. Beth new Phillippe was a vampire and wasn't afraid. They fell in love and were married. Trouble came when Caleb told Beth there was another vampire blood mixed with theirs. It was the mist. She dreamed of him where he showed himself. He said she was promised to him. She is married to Phillippe. What are they going to do?. This book has plenty of action and suspense. Mix in a little mythology. Wow, it's definitely a great read.

I felt as if this book was all over the place. I couldn't connect with the characters and I found Beth to be extremely childish. She gave up her boyfriend, lost her job and that doesn't bother her? Far too accepting of all this.

vampires , werewolves, and anything in between are just my guilty pleasure😍.. i love reading paranormal books and this book did not disappoint..💗

This book got me hooked and i couldn’t put it down .. i devoured it and thank god i have the second book so i was able to start it immediately because that ending left me on edge ..
phillip and beth’s story was insta love which in any other book will piss me off but here it was completely understandable as beth has known the mist her entire life .. whom she mistook for Phillip 👀..
At first i had a problem with it as i couldn’t connect very well with beth (FMC) .. she annoyed me a bit because of some of her decisions .. but i liked her character in the second book and the way she became feisty 😍

beth has been visited by a mist ever since she was a child and on her 17th birthday she learned that that mist is actually a vampire but he can’t reveal himself (YET) .. on a cold winter night and few weeks before beth’s 25th birthday , danny (beth’s boyfriend) asked her to move in with him .. but she was soo torn between him and the mist whom she fell in love with over the years so she demanded he reveals himself or she’ll leave.. and here enters phillip .. the 700 years old vampire😍 ..

I admired the way laura presented the vampire world here .. and how she merged the egytian gods was soo incredible😍.. i have to say i was team AMON since his first scene.. i loved the way he carried himself❤️.. and he and caleb (who is Phillip’s maker )are my favourite characters ..
caleb actually reminded me of damon salvatore.. he’ll annoy you at first but you can’t help but fall in love with him ..

I can’t dive into this review any further without revealing some major and exciting spoilers .. so if you’re into vampires , myths , egyptian gods .. waste no time .. this story is for you ..

Immortal Kiss by Laura Daleo was a delightful surprise. Beth has been visited by a mysterious gift-giving mist for as long as she can remember. Over time she falls in love with it, and just before her twenty-fifth birthday, he appears to her in his vampire form. Beth's life is forever changed when she chooses to make him a permanent part of her life.

"My breath caught in my throat, goosebumps pinching my flesh. It was him. Our visits had always been confined to my bedroom, and he'd never ventured outside its four walls. What had changed? And how had he found me? Had he followed us that night?"

I had few expectations going into this book, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a vampire book, so some suspension of disbelief about supernatural beings and the nature of love and healthy relationships must be suspended. Immortal Kiss hits all the notes that other vampire books do, such as an intense and unexplainable connection between a vampire and a human, a history and rule outline of vampires, and a struggle to choose between being mortal and immortal. However, unlike the Twilight series (FYI Immortal kiss was originally copyrighted in 1996 before the publication of Twilight in 2005) and Anne Rice's novels; Immortal Kiss genuinely surprised me. About halfway through we find out that things are not exactly as they appear. This revelation (no spoilers!) changes the course of the book, speeds up the pace immensely, and introduces us to some unique characters.

Immortal Kiss is a relatively easy and entertaining read. It took me a while to get into because at the beginning it seems like this story might just be about a girl who gives up her entire life for a vampire she just met and then allows him to control her life. However, once the story started to develop and expand beyond that, I liked it a lot more. There were a few times I got confused about a setting change or who was speaking, but overall, I liked the writing and the vampire world that Daleo created.

Immortal Kiss has a very interesting take on vampires and love. Beth has had a mysterious mist follow her, her entire life- a vampire. One day he finally reveals himself to her and whisks her away for their happily ever after. As time goes on, secrets begin to unravel. Laura's use of foreshadowing in this book are fantastic! It's a very easy read but still kept me on the edge of my seat. This book is very fast pace, which leaves no dull moments while reading. The writing style is great, following in suit with the rest of Laura's books. I am so excited to read book two!

Behind this story is a history that is centuries old - powerful vampire gods were on the earth and they had no control over their lust for blood so in order to save mankind (who they needed to provide blood to them). However they recognised the weakness in their existence and so they selected 12 humans to transform with their blood and every fifth generation they would provide a person to drain dry in a form of "Blood Lottery". This has continued though the years and is still in operation today. Beth Ryan has always had the company of a mysterious mist as she grew up and when she meets 100 vampire Philippe Delon she finds herself drawn to him convinced he is the source of the mist. They instantly fall in love with each other and she quickly moves in which him and marries him. However she learns of the identity of the real person behind the mist and that she is linked to the blood lottery in a betrayal by a loved one. So she ends up in front of The Council asking for a resolution to this complication in her life.

It's taken me a while to get my head around how I view this book. I find myself conflicted - on the one side there is a love story which could be sweet ad very enjoyable, then there is a situation that makes me uncomfortable - the Vampire behind the mist and his love for her from when he saw her as a baby which appears to have converted into love for her as an adult (which feels sexual in manner) - I also think there is a part of story which is missing because without it the story feels a bit sick - then her behaviour which is more than a little naive and moves so fast to commit her to actions and love which feel more than a little rushed. On the plus side there was plenty of action, twists and turns to keep me interested and I did understand all of the aspects of the story.

Beth Ryan has been looked over by a mist that sometimes appears to her in a man’s shape. She knows this is a vampire and dreams of them being together. Years later she has been dating her best friend for several years when he asks her to move in with him. She turns him down, discovers that Philippe Delon is a 700 year old vampire and assumes he is the one that has been watching over her all of these years. She dumps her boyfriend and leaves everything behind to move in with Philippe.

But then we learn about vampires and how they almost killed humanity and how The Council governs The Ten original vampires. It seems Philippe was not very honest with Beth and now she has to decide what she is going to do with this information. There is also another hot vampire that Beth is getting pretty entangled with and she is going to have to decide who she wants to be with.

I am torn on writing this review. I love the history and the background when it came to the vampire history. I enjoyed the new twist on how vampires are created and the rules that The Ten must follow. I even liked how Beth fit into this part of the story. The problem I had was with Beth.

I am not impressed with Beth and the logic, or shall I say lack of, behind her decisions. Essential she is stringing along her best friend for numerous years and dumps him for an imaginary/misty idea of a man. Then when she meets the vampire she just drops everything to go jump his bones. Then when another vampire comes along she is torn between jumping his bones or Philippe.

There are possibilities to this story if you can get past this part of it. I do have the next couple books to read so I hope it gets better from here.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.
