About the author

Bill Willingham

In the late 1970s to early 1980s he drew fantasy ink pictures for the Dungeons & Dragons Basic and Expert game rulebooks. He first gained attention for his 1980s comic book series Elementals published by Comico, which he both wrote and drew. However, for reasons unknown, the series had trouble maintaining an original schedule, and Willingham's position in the industry remained spotty for many years. He contributed stories to Green Lantern and started his own independent, black-and-white comics series Coventry which lasted only 3 issues. He also produced the pornographic series Ironwood for Eros Comix.

In the late 1990s Willingham reestablished himself as a prolific writer. He produced the 13-issue Pantheon for Lone Star Press and wrote a pair of short novels about the modern adventures of the hero Beowulf, published by the writer's collective, Clockwork Storybook, of which Willingham was a founding member. In the early 2000s he began writing extensively for DC Comics, including the limited series Proposition Player, a pair of limited series about the Greek witch Thessaly from The Sandman, and most notably the popular series Fables

So, the wolf continues his investigation into what happened to Rose Red. He has a couple guys recreate the scene in an identical apartment. They determine five pints of blood was scattered. That tells the wolf Rose Red is dead for no one can lose that amount of blood and live.

Snow White is summoned to King Cole, the #1 in the fable government (apparently, Snow is #2). Snow gives the rundown of suspects, including herself. King Cole shares the politics of the situation. The investigation needs to be wrapped up before Remembrance Day. It's not just a holiday, it's a day when most of the operating budget for the government is donated. Snow understands.

Bluebeard sneaks into the jail and wields a knife on Jack. He says it's to convince Jack to tell what actually happened. The wolf showed up. He transformed into the wolf. After some negotiation, he got Bluebeard in jail himself.

The wolf shared with Snow what he thinks Red Rose's status is.

Synopsis
Determined to uncover the truth, Bigby Wolf meticulously recreates the crime scene, searching for any inconsistency that might prove whether Snow White’s sister is truly dead or if the blood-soaked room is an elaborate ruse. Meanwhile, the wealthy and dangerous Mr. Bluebeard lodges a formal complaint with the Mayor, incensed by the accusation of murder. Despite his protests, Bigby and Snow continue their rounds, interrogating a "who’s who" of Fabletown’s elite, including the Black Forest Witch and Snow’s philandering ex-husband, Prince Charming. With Remembrance Day—the community’s most sacred holiday—fast approaching, the Mayor is desperate for a resolution. He demands the mystery be solved before the festivities begin. The issue concludes on a gripping note, finally answering a pivotal question that shifts the entire direction of the case.
