I was expecting a book of recipes you could make and store in jars. This is about making gifts in jars to give away and then they add the liquid ingredients. It does an adequate job of how to make gift jars but I was expecting something different.
It's all right, I mean it's a pretty good book, just so short that I, an obsessive bookworm, went through it pretty fast. And the recipe s, not so easy to follow when I attempted one. And have you, Mrs. Scott, ever heard of botulism? I recommend learning about it. Bot spores are so poisonous that I read that 16 ounces can kill everybody in the world. Bot shows up a lot in canned food that's not pressure canned. Wait, is it pressure canned? Idk .... I forgot. Well, anyway, nice book overall. Nice job. 💁💁
This is actually an extremely helpful book for those on a low sodium diet who pretty much have to make everything from scratch because boxed and canned foods have too much sodium. This helped my husband greatly in helping prepare meals I could eat and that we both loved. Not to mention the great gift ideas.
This is a really well written book with clear instructions for the recipes, and with 100 recipes there's plenty of variation and combination of ingredients. There's a few illustrations of jars and recipes and cute clip art. Check this book out! With 100 recipes there will be some you like!!
I can finally make the gifts I have been given for years at birthday parties and weddings. Inside are starters for soups to sauces. There are pies to smores and hot chocolate. It also shows how to layer them to make them look their best. Enjoy and let's get to crafting.
I was pleased with the contents of this book. The spice section will be made and used soon. All recipes were well written using ingredients in my cupboard or in the local grocery store.
Mostly things you can put together in a jar and give as gifts. There are a few spice recipes towrds the back. I was hoping for more things to take for lunch, like salads, etc.
I looked at every recipe I this book and plan I making many of them. The instructions are very clear and the jars are really pretty. My family can look forward to seeing many of these in three future.
I received a free electronic copy of this recipe and gift idea from Bonnie Scott and Digital Book Spot. Thank you all for sharing your hard work with me. I have read this work of my own volition, and this review reflects my personal opinion of 100 MORE Easy Recipes in Jars. I am pleased to recommend to friends and family. Crafters grab one!
Ms. Scott shares lots of info on actually preparing these jars, and as with the first book, gives us access to labels on the net. Again, there are many recipes, many focused on seasonal gifting and all sorts of recipes for spice mixtures - from Cajun Spice to chicken or beef gravy, bread dipping spices, and chip dips. You don't want to read this recipe book when you are hungry. By the middle of the book, you will not know what you are now hungry for. By the end, you are starving.

I flipped through this book and marked things I'd like to try. There were quite a few. Some good ideas, though I may try to adapt some of my gluten free recipes to do something similar. I liked many of the ideas but the most novel ones were the slice mixes that could be used as starters for various cream soups or dips.
