This is kind of like a cult classic film, you know it's bad but you just can't stop yourself. And yes, after finishing "Ouran High School Host Club" recently, the main characters do really look like Tamaki (Satsuki) and Kyoya (sans glasses - Toyo). Plus there's the whole reverse harem aspect, i.e. totally clueless lackluster girl is sought after by two relatively hot guys, though the twist in this manga is that one is a vampire who doesn't like to drink blood and the other is a werewolf. Oh yeah, and the hot I-want-to-be-a-doctor-to-save-you possessive cousin who has watched over her whole life, and also just happens to be in love with her. Best part of the book is Yamimura, Toya's bat sidekick/valet, who can briefly turn into a young boy or teenage goth kid. I am interested to see what she does next with the series. Recommended for ages 14+, 3-1/2 stars.

A little rough around the edges, but I really like the characters. Well, except Keigo. That guy should be arrested (and actually, he should. Kidnapping, assault, attempted murder...)
Anyway, it's a silly vampire romcom that has touches of deeper story, though the deeper aspects are all only a few chapters long at the most and seem to be dropped fairly quickly in favor of the next joke and the next attempt at deep insight. But that's fine. It's mostly just a goofy romcom anyway, and that's pretty much what I went in wanting.

None of the male leads are likeable in this book. And I usually like a dark shell on the outside, gooey marshmallow on the inside, kind of character. But these brooding boys were just abusive. I don't really care if they're pining for understanding or security or respect or WHATEVER, because they are all selfish and cruel. Toya the vampire is constantly negging Chiyuki, Satsuki the werewolf tries to sexually assault her and ignores her directly saying, "No", and Kei ties her up and HITS HER IN THE HEAD WITH A BOULDER because he's angry that he's invested time in caring about her but she doesn't return his affections.... Girls. Don't. Owe. You. JACK!
I also found the comic style to be very confusing O_o. I couldn't always tell who was talking, or what was meant to be an inner monologue versus what was being said out loud... It was a messy manga to try and read.

I think this is generally quite liked piece but I thought it was merely okay.
It's not bad and it was nice enough to read once but it followed the same old patterns of boys fighting over a girl and nothing really stood out in the story. There were some nice bits on caring about other people but also some slightly disturbing parts of it going too far. And sometimes it changed between slapstick-y comedy and more serious and dramatic parts too abruptly.
Chiyuki is likable enough, she's pretty headstrong but of course she suffers a weak moment when the plot so requires. The boys are more often annoying than cool (Toya) or adorable (Satsuki), as they are clearly meant to be thought of. They have their moments too though, like a chapter about Satsuki and his grandmother.
And sadly the art isn't the greatest either. Body proportions are sometimes way off or heads are drawn in weird angles. To me it seems the mangaka could do better but she's been in a hurry. I read she continued this only many years later, so I'm curious to see how the rest of the series looks and feels.

I don't know how to review this. To me, these volumes were rather blah so blah that I don't know what else to say other than that.
From page one, you are thrown straight into things. There is really no background on who these characters are or why they are doing what they are doing and to me that never really changed. Here and there you might get a little piece of background information, but that really helped develop the characters.
This felt like one of those situations where the girl is intrigued by this mysterious individual and won't let them alone because she's so intrigued that she tells herself she likes them.
It's just... blah.

Couldn't find just volume 1 so I am
reviewing it here I haven't read volume 2 yet: I got this manga for two of my best friends this year but I hadnt read it before. Now I have and I'm so glad I did. This art style though a tad more blurry than Ouran was so pretty especially the flying scenes. I love the humor in this volume but also I appreciated the dramatic undertones that were important but not too over the top. The best way to describe this manga (at least to me) to a western audience would be Twilight but with more dynamic characters and less sexual tension and more friendship. Is this age appropriate for teens? Possibly at least this volume was the only problem I think they may face some confusion with the panels because of some of the artwork plus there may be some misinterpretation of the humor but that is just me. Because of these points I have to give this volume a 4-4.5 out of 5 stars this was definitely a fun manga to read and cannot wait to read more.

Throughout my time reading Ouran High School Host Club, Millennium Snow was mentioned quite a lot in Bisco's side panels, so I thought I'd give it a try. And I must say, I was not disappointed!
Millennium Snow is a fun twist on vampire romance. Although I've seen it frequently compared to Twilight, I'd have to strongly disagree. Yes, a few of the minor elements are the same, but the characters here have so much more depth and life (in my opinion, anyway)! The individual plots early on are pretty well self-contained, but towards the end they begin to better connect with each other.
On another note, one of my favorite parts of reading this was seeing Bisco's older art. It is incredible to look at this work and then at her most recent series, Behind the Scenes!, and to see just how far she has come! Even so, the characters are all still familiar and very much her art style. In some ways, they even seem like early models for the characters of Ouran (Toya = Kyoya, Satsuki = Tamaki).
All in all, Millennium Snow volumes 1 and 2 were extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend for fans of Bisco Hatori, or anyone who likes a fun vampire story!

DNF I wanted to like this book but this was just not believable. The female protagonist, Chiyuki, meets the male lead, Toya, and soon finds out that he's a vampire. Five minutes after that she's offering her blood and to be his partner for a thousand years. Seriously? It's also unfathomable because Toya is nothing but a massive d*ck to her from the moment they meet. I know I wouldn't want to spend five minutes, let alone a thousand years, with someone who continually insults me and calls me stupid. Yeah, I think I'll pass.

I really enjoyed reading this! I wanna cry in enjoyment, this is really good. When you expect things to go a certain direction then suddenly isn’t actually what it is and you got question marks on your head. I felt that! I just finished reading this and to be honest. I cannot express my happiness. This manga is full of funny moments, teenage life, romance and much more. I recommend reading this manga ^^ One of the cutest and bestest and also the shortest manga I’ve had ever read.

I do like the characters. The story is interesting but it seems random? Like there’s not much of a main plot???
The weirdo cousin grosses me out. I think he has his idea of love for Chiyuki mixed up. He cares for her but he can’t be in love with her? Right? This is Japan though... and manga seems to always have the crazy cousins popping out of nowhere to stalk the main character... *wide eyes*

I really enjoyed Millenium Snow! It was such a refreshing take on vampires. Here we have Toya, a vampire who has an aversion to blood and humans and Chiyori, a girl who has a heart condition that makes her life quite difficult. The tension between the two characters plus all the side characters did tug at my heartstrings and also made me laugh at times. Overall a fun story to read on Halloween weekend!

I mostly enjoyed this reread! It’s an earlier work, and you can feel how it’s kind of rough. I’m excited to get to the newer volumes I haven’t read and see how things are different when she picks the story back up. Also, side note—I’d completely forgotten Chiyuki’s psycho cousin, so that bit was a nasty surprise. =_=

Rereading one of my favorite manga series from middle school gave me so much nostalgia from when I would binge read series within a couple of nights late reading in bed. This series is so cute and funny with Bisco Hatori's typical character dynamics. A classic manga for sure.

You can really tell this was written before Ouran High School Host Club, Bisco Hattori's most famous manga series: the characters look very familiar, but less refined.
The overall theme of vampire-doesn't-want-to-suck-willing-girl's-blood-and-also-there's-a-werewolf is very Twilight, but the execution and characters are a lot less serious and very over-the-top (which I think is great). The stories are nothing I haven't seen before, but the character motivations (in particular Satsuki's) are very intriguing and a lot deeper than I would have anticipated.
Don't really like that last story, though.
My favourite part about these two volumes is the extra story called "A Romance of One Moment" - look it up if you can, it's very good!

Vol. 1 - This is adorable! I'm on a quest to find shoujo that I actually like ... there must be some. I chose this because of the vampire theme and the summary made it sound as if romance was not the main element. I found the story cute and funny. We have the typical couple at odds but what is different here is that the girl, Chiyuki, likes the boy, Toya, from the get-go and lets him know it. He is the one who won't admit he likes her, though of course he speeds to her side the first time she gets a boo-boo. LOL. I like the girl's attitude here; she's sassy and has spunk, not a door-wipe like most shoujo I've tried. Of course, Toya, knocks her around a bit in jest, you get used to this in shoujo, and calls her names, mostly "stupid". I prefer Dojo's calling Iku "bonehead" in Library Wars, but name calling is cultural and I'm sure the Japanese equivalents are more endearing. I know in French they use animal names such as chicken, flea, otter, hen and even cabbage and egg! Anyway, I kept waiting to find out who the other guy was on the front cover and I *love* who it turns out to be. Sweet and fun. And the sidekick, Yami, the bat? Perfect comedic partner and kawaii! Looking forward to the next volume. Unfortunately, this volume does end with a (perverted) one-off which left a sour taste in my mouth ('nough said). (4/5)

Things happen for no apparent reason and then everybody just moves on to the next thing :-( Normally, that would bother me but this story is basically "fluff" and really a lot of fun that to analyze it would just be pretentious. The characters are all so cute, I just love them! Of course I like Toya the best! The romance is more focused in this volume but everybody now knows everybody is in love (or deep like) with each other, which usually isn't the case in shoujo, and I didn't feel any irritation with it at all. (My main problem with shoujo) The plots of the stories overrode the romance for me keeping me interested and the humour kept me laughing. As mentioned the the story jumps all over the place but the stories of the ghost girl in the deserted mansion and the psycho cousin who ties Chiyuki up are pretty wild. Here's hoping volume three continues in the same fun manner. (4/5)

Gr 9 Up- Chiyuki was fated to die from birth. Despite her condition, she remains optimistic for the sake of others and always strives to see the next snowfall. Fate may have other plans though, when Toya, an anemic vampire whose blood could save her, drops into her life. Only the most powerful of bonds will heal his wounded heart. Even with the possibility to live for a thousand years in front of her, Chiyuki's actions never feel self-serving, making her a delightfully conceived counterpart to Toya. The tone never becomes tragic, thanks to some nicely interspersed humour, and the addition of the werewolf Satsuki. For years, fans longed for the conclusion to Millennium Snow, and with it now complete, Viz has reprinted the first two volumes in omnibus format. While the screentones are expertly employed to portray emotions, Bisco's pre-hiatus bishounen style is not yet fully developed, this includes some inconsistent facial proportions. By comparison, the final volumes show a marked improvement. Millennium Snow has a tenderness to it that other vampire romances lack. Certainly, it has its heart-pounding moments, yet it chooses to focus on the time people share together within their allotted lifespan. It is only by understanding and saving one another that Chiyuki and Toya can build a true bond, and find eternal love.

Komik ke-2 Hatori-sensei yang aku baca. Ceritanya beda banget dengan Ouran High School *ya iyalah*. Kalau Ouran High School bercerita tentang sekumpulan laki-laki tampan nan super kaya mengikuti kegiatan host, Millenium Snow bercerita tentang vampire penghisap darah. Tokoh utamanya mirip dengan kak Tamaki. Sayangnya, di Indonesia belum sampai tamat diterjemahinnya. Baru sampai 2 vol. Berharap penerbit yang menerbitkan ini segara menerbitkan 2 volume terakhir :D

You know the story- girl meets vampire and falls in love. Shortly afterwards, she meets a werewolf, who falls in love with her. Only this graphic novel was originally published four years before Twilight. It is also a whole lot funnier, written in much the same way as the author's series Ouran High School Host Club. The episode with Chiyuki's cousin Keigo made me cringe, but barring that, the story wasn't too bad if you like shojo manga.

This book contains volumes one and two of Millennium Snow. I was pulled into Bisco Hatori's work with OHSHC (obviously). That series hooked me, and so when I saw this manga had finished, I had to check it out. This book did not disappoint. I absolutely loved the characters. It had great pacing and was a totally engrossing story. I could not put it down and then immediately started on the next book.

This was an adorable manga! This about a young girl named Chiyuki and has problems with her heart and was told she will not see the next snow. She meets Toya who is an 18 year old vampire who hates blood and refuses to make a partnership with a human which will keep them both alive for a thousand years. I can't wait to continue with this manga series! I recommend this if you love Shojo manga.

A dash of paranormal, romance and humour. Bisco Hatori knows how to create a range of characters that are fun and believable (even if they are a vampire!) Really enjoyed this and will be picking up the series :)
