A nice close to the end of necropolis. Good way to finish the first omnibus.

4.5

Fething waiting.

It was fast paced action to read. Commissar Ibram Gaunt dealt not only with obligatory hordes of heretics and Chaos forces but also with traitorous commander whom he dispatched neatly. The hive city is never good place to fight in but good for recruitment of the new blood to slowly thining Tanith First and Only. The brave men and women of Vervunhive joined the guard and were ready to die for the Emperor like proper imperial citizens should.

A nice, bittersweet follow up to the events of Necropolis. Is in the immediate aftermath, and we get to see many of our favourite characters from the Tanith First and Only here from an outsider perspective. Could have been nice if even longer, but is still well done.

I actually discovered and read this book inbetween Only in Death and Blood Pact. I enjoyed the story from a non combatant's perspective.

A very fitting epitath to "Necropolis" and tribute to "Gaunts Ghosts".

A entertaining 10 min read. Provided a interesting additional POV that deepened the universe further.

Amazing, emotional look at the ghosts, and in my opinion the perfect way to bookend the first major arc of the series

A satisfying and poignant short story to tie up the Vervun hive saga from Necropolis. An outside perspective of the conflict's resolution done superbly.

Short, sweet and to the point. A good ending to the first omnibus. I think I prefer Abnetts short stories.

Remembrance was an incredible cherry on the cake to this saga.

It functions as an Epilogue and ties up the events of Vervunhive and the short history of Gaunt's Ghosts. Very good read and short enough that I'd recommend reading this right after you close the last page of Necropolis.

A beautiful little story about the meaninglessness of war and combat. This story was told through the eyes of a non-combatant during a post-war skirmish. The symbolism and comparisons of war to every day things make this a fascinating read.
