Trooper Ferik Jurgen, is the shadow of the hero Commissar Caiphas Cain. Intensely loyal to the Emperor & the Commissar, resourceful, single minded in devotion, and quite handy with a melta.

The malodorous Watson to Cain's Holmes, he might not be most personable of soldiers, nor does he understand the complexities of life. But point at something you want gone, and he will make sure that it's gone.

And, in the thick of battle, when the metaphorical shit hits the fan, there is no one else you rather have watching your back; something which Cain would attest to with gusto.

Jurgen as a character, with his arc intertwined with our protagonist, is a crucial pillar, which serves to make the story so entertaining. Looking forwards to reading more oneshots like this.

“You can frak off and all.”

I’ve never read a Cain book, but I do like Warhammer, coffee, and short stories. I wanted this story to be dark humor or perhaps an absurdist take on the lengths a minion would go to for his master only to have the coffee thrown back in his face for having too much cream. It fell short of its potential though and felt slapstick. Not worth the $3.99.

A very short, funny story about Cains loyal aide Jurgen and his hunt for a mug of recaff. OF course it's not quite as easy as putting the pot on the stove when you're in a recently cleansed coven hideout.

I really do enjoy short stories, but this was a bit too short for my taste.

A fantastic brief insight into the 40K universe through Jurgen’s eyes. Ciaphas Cain is my favourite Warhammer series and I’d love to get more snippets like this from Jurgen.

There is something very entertaining about the occasional short story from Jürgen's perspective. They are fun, light and hit the spot.

A rather pointless little thing, all considered, but decently well narrated.

A hilarious tale of Jurgen, I did not expect things to go this way, but the way the story progresses fits Jurgen's character to a tee.

My only complaint here, far too short!

That's it?

Way too short. I have nothing against short stories. But this wasn't even a whole page. Or just about. Fun, yes. But way too short.
