Corto y significativo.

A good introduction to the series explaining the adversaries in the series. Won't rock your world but not bad

I picked this up the instant I finished BZRK Apocalypse. It was only 36 pages, so I was able to finish it right away. Even though it was short, the book filled in some interesting background about Sadie's dad and how BZRK came to be. Overall, I highly recommend this series to sci-fi fans. The writing is great, the action moves quickly, and Grant isn't afraid to pull the rug out from under you.

I’ve found that the most frustrating aspect of reading eBooks is not having a sense of when the story is going to end. Even the % completed number can be deceiving, since publishers often add a reader’s guide, or interviews, or even a chunk from the author’s next book. That was the case with BZRK: Origins; it just ended far too soon!

I’m headed back to the original trilogy to re-read them all, and hopefully recapture that creepy awe of experiencing biots for the very first time.

Disappointed to see how short it is. Convinced that it must be a bad filler piece. Surprised that it wasn’t bad. With reading if you like the series.

This is my first introduction before reading Bzrk. It provides a good mission brief of a short story. It gets right to the point and what the greater outlining story is about.

You don't really get much for your money here with this novella, however I haven't read many novellas so perhaps this is par the course for all these in between little back stories, so I could be judging too harshly.

I'm the sort of person who likes to read everything I can about a series, so for me I think I will be purchasing the extra stories if I'm really into it. Is it essential reading??? No...

Is it enjoy able and interesting and worthwhile ...yes if your really into the series.

This novella consists of 6 short chapters, easily read in half an hour. Few revealing facts about the nano technology and history of the McClure company and the shocking dangers of it. This technology was only supposed to be used for the good of mankind, how getting into the wrong hands has created the war we read about in book 1 and 2.

Can't wait to get started on the series, thrilling, exciting and lackey.Like all good company

This is a book for a reader who likes futuristic sci-fi / apocalyptic type stuff. It's the prequel to a series,a novella that gives a little incite to what I hope I'm in for . Such a great read about what sounds like a revolution from scientific research turned bad that destroys human life or somehow makes people go crazy, committing suicide , terminally psychotic, or something else ,I'm yet to discover til I read the next instalment. will I get the next book ,of course! The book has peaked my interest in this genre again

This is a short story or prequel to the BZRK series. I read it after book one, and would probably recommend doing the same, though it was interesting enough to start off the series. The story is presented as Grey McLure's journal discussing his development of bio technology (biots) - the whys, the ethical dilemmas, the caveats, and the impacts. Grey includes insight into his friend/rival's nano-tech efforts.

You know how you can tell a good writer? Michael Grant made me a care about the death of a character he had just introduced five pages previously. I can read a whole book written by a far less talented writer where a main character dies near the end and my reaction is "....who?" or "....ehhhhh." So please keep writing, Mr. Grant. YA needs you.

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is it was too short. Wanted more of the beginnings of Bzrk & the biots & nanobots. The feeling of impending doom & the "Skynet" (if u don't know what Skynet is u shouldn't be reading this kind of science fiction) vibes are evident in this story too.

A waste. It promises the origins of the nano war, but gives them in such a shoddy manner. Disappointing

Apesar de nao ter falado tanto no Lear como esperava, foi muito bom. Fiquei a adorar ainda mais a sadie e o grey McLure. Boa background story.

There was no point in this novella. It brought nothing to the story as we only 'learnt' things we already knew. However, it was around 40 pages long here we go goodreads challenge.

Seems like a very promising start to a good series. A bit of Asimov's Fantastic Voyage blended with Michael Crichton's Prey.
