I am a born and bred wild child. (Or I like to think so anyway!)
I moved to sunny Folkestone to escape and find my feet as, well whatever I was destined to be! But alas, my short attention span made finding that destiny a little difficult! One day I came across a diary entry that made me laugh so hard; I actually fell off my chair. (Yes, this can happen!)
I decided that the entry was so funny; it needed to be shared with the world! So I started writing, and attempted to turn it into a novel. Though to this day, that novel remains unfinished, it will always be the novel that got me started, and showed me what I was passionate about. Honestly? I have aspired to be everything from a Private Investigator to a Zoo Keeper with my career; my interests change so quickly that I could never stick with one! Writing gives me the freedom to choose; I can be a cold-hearted assassin in love with a poet one day and the secret lesbian lover of a politician the next!
All my life, I have had a strong, unwavering passion for anything supernatural, spiritual and slightly unexplainable, I love the idea that there can be something completely fantastical lurking beneath the confines of normality. So of course, mythical creatures of all shapes and sizes dominate most of my work!
In a nutshell, I am a creative crazy bean, living with my lovely husband and a house full of too many animals! I’ve always secretly wished I were a werewolf of some description, but have come to realise that I will have to settle for writing about them instead! I’m happiest in the sun with my head in a good book!
AllI can say from here is I hope you like what you read!

I loved this book!! It was such a page turner (well my virtual pages on my kindle, lol)

I was so into this book, had non-stop excitement and action, and wow some nice steamy part too. It was awesome.

The writing was top notch too, I had a few disturbing dreams about the undead creatures in this book. Think the Walking Dead, but with evil intelligence controlling them, and the creepiness of them is yuck, lol.

I loved Leyth so much, what a great guy, and Tamriel was a strong kick ass lead female for sure. She finds out about being a wolf too, and took it pretty well, as she always knew something was different about her. She is more than just that, and it was a great twist in the story. I am not gonna tell you, lol, you will need to read it to find out. I do not want to spoil the fun.

I highly recommend this book, if you like the paranormal books, like with shifters, werewolves, and more then this is for you.

5 out of 5 huge stars for me.

I received this book from the author for my honest review.

I love books about werewolves, shapeshifters etc, This one one had a little extra because we had zombie werewolves and a young woman who didn't know she was a half-breed werewolf. I sat down with it and read it straight through.

So this book was truly fantastic! 4.5

Kay song choice timeeeee: "Ten Cent Pistol" by the Black Keys (mostly because the girl in the song is kickass and Tam is pretty much kickass). "I Miss You" by Blink 182...yeah i am not going to explain that choice... "Blindsided" by Bon Iver

Kay First thoughts: While I really did like this there were some aspects that annoyed me. This was an interesting take on the paranormal world, while this was the first in the series and we were in the POV starting of someone entering we learned only I would hope the surface of the story, because i think this series has a ton of potential, not that it was bad or anything it wasn't but i am super eager to keep reading this series! Alright before i get carried away with that, the things that annoyed me a bit was the sort of repetitive comments the characters make, and their stupid choices...yes i am narrowing my eyes at them giving them the "i'm watching you" fingers. But I really did love all the new-erish ideas taht was brought into this book, and OMGOSH Minotuars! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Hannah, WILL YOU PLEASE write one of them a story! PLEASSSSSSSSEEEEEEEE! I love Minotuars but god all you can find is horror, or like greek mythology :(!! anyways MOVING ON FROM THAT! I thought this was an amazing, action-packed, romance-filled, beginning to what i am feeling will be an fantastic series!

Thoughts on PLOT: I loved how action-packed this was, lately while i have read action-y stuff, and a lot of it does get their hands dirty, for some reason this one came off as more. I mean I did like that Hannah was willing to get her hands dirty, tell us the gory details, because it makes the story more real, more "3D" i guess is a good way to put it. or surround sound if you will ;). So while this was action packed and moved really well there were a few moments, and i really do think it was just me, that i felt like suddenly we were here when we were there....and yeah...but i think it might have been me. Anyways!!! The plot wasn't just one problem to be solved, there was a lot going on, and it got more complex and while it felt the ending felt a little too easy at first DO NOT BE FOOLED!! Anyways! The romance of the book, while i like when characters resist at first because it makes everything more interesting these two started to piss me off with their lack of communication! If you two told each other how you... you know what, nope not going to go into this. Also though oh i just had a point and then i looked up at the TV and got distracted...god i have ADD bad... anyways! i will think about that point for a bit....OH I REMEMBER! While we don't do the step by step of their relationship growth with convos happening about past and blah blah blah it was summarized and there so its not really just the "insta-love" stuff! YAY!!! happy dance, i know you are doing one, don't try to deny it!

Characters!

Tamriel (Tam): Kay while Leyth calls her the bravest, most kickass female that he knows, like ever, i was getting annoyed with him. While i totally agree with him, it makes me feel bad for all the other girls in the book! XD. While I don't think Tam sees herself as this totally kickass girl, i think she sees herself as someone that has to do what is right no matter how hard it is. And for that i love her! For me she was so real, she really came off the page and become more than ink and words, she was totally awesome. Like i said she does what she thinks is right even when its hard. She doesn't relish in the idea of killing and she tries to be as helpful as possible. She is no push over waiting for someone to tell her what to do, but she also is vulnerable when she is with Leyth which i also really liked, even though she tries to keep her pride and dignity around others she does allow Leyth in all the way....*suggestive eyebrows* anyways! ya naughty nancys! She was a really amazing MC and i loved her!
Now normally i don't do these casting things but i makes exception for this book because i know a lot of people like these so here we go for Tam:

Leyth: AAAAAannnd i can't remember his nickname...sorry i am not an asshole i just am horrible with names! Anyways! He was, wow. Kay he was a little hard to like at times, when he called a certain someone a certain something, and that certain someone forgave him too easily. oh sorry! so letting that go. I liked him, while i think at some points he could have been as well rounded as Tam he wasn't a bad character. I liked how protective of Tam he was, and I liked that he was actually open about his fears with the readers in his POV verses just being like oh i had problems but never really explaining it. The fact that he was so utterly brave too, awesome! his trying to sacrifice himself for Tam though was getting on my nerves, i understood that he was scared but i wanted him to fight for them harder, don't worry its all alright! He was an interesting character. He seemed short with others verses when he was with Tam and i loved that!
My Leyth:

Kay usually I don't do many of the "other" characters but i want to talk a bit about the others for a second

Sapphire: I loved her, And I do hope we get her story as well...maybe she falls for a Minotaur, eh, eh ;) ;) anyways i really liked her and i hope she continues to be a sort of bigger part in the other books!

Dax: ohh he will be interesting to read about! hehehe i am excited!

Alison: ohh poor Alison! i hope things get better for her she has been through so much.

Oh you know what i forgot something!
The "good" guys vs the "bad" guys: now this is really something i never do, but i really liked this aspect of this book, while we want to make the good guys cookie cutter good, that they are no faults in them in this we find ourselves wondering, how good are the good guys, and really the baddies must just be a 100 times worse. i like the idea that this presents it was really awesome and well done too :)

So the ending: Really it was the perfect ending for Tam and Leyth in my book, I was happy with it. But that epilogue, WOMAN! not nice! I am very VERY excited for the next book! superly soooo. So my very last thoughts on this is that i think that if you like action-packed and romance-y paranormal this will be a perfect read for you! lots of new interesting things happening here! :)!!!

Alright sooooooo time for this little ness... i have a blog with a friend, we try to do all types of books but i specialize in paranormal mostly, but i do love scifi, and fantasy, and my friends tends to do the contemporary fiction. anyways the point is you can check out other books after you check this one out by other amazing indie authors! thanks for you time!

I've just finished this book. I downloaded it yesterday and today I have finished it. That is a HUGE credit to the author... I literally couldn't put it down.
Now I am new to goodreads and actually to the world of ebooks so I was wary about downloading books this way. I love to hold the physical copy in my hands, cry over it, fold the pages, stare at it longingly on my bookshelf.
I was a little gutted that Silence of the Wolves was only in ebook form but let me tell you IT IS SO WORTH A DOWNLOAD. Frankly, if this book comes out in print I will be the first to buy it. It is one of those books I will read, re read and read again.
It is absolutely fantastic. The plot line is so engaging it just keeps you reading, every page there is something new that simply blows you away.
Pole's imagination and blunt enthusiasm for the supernatural world absolutely stunned me.
I could not put this book down to save my life! Tamriel and Leyth are some of the most amazing characters I've ever come across and the pack they live with are werewolves I simply fell in love with.
I cannot wait for the next book, I mean I was almost in tears when Silence of the wolves finished! I did not want the book to end!
My heart broke when I got to the final page and now I've set it down, I'm sitting here staring at my kindle, considering picking it up and starting it all over again.
Come on Mrs Pole.. Get the next book out NOW. I need it. I can't wait for it.
The world of books has just got a million times better now that Hannah Pole is on the scene.
She is a fantastic writer, and I have no doubt that she is going to blow the world of literacy away with every book she writes.
I seriously recommend this book. I could not put it down. And neither will you.

There was a lot of action in SILENCE OF THE WOLVES. The pace was nice and fast and there was plenty going on. I did not fall right into the story. There were parts that seemed a bit far-fetched and then others that annoyed the heck out of me. The characters took me a bit to like but once I got through some of it the enjoyment came easier.

Tamriel is a journalist always looking for her next story. The night she decided to run to the rescue of a gal in trouble her life changed forever. She always knew she was different but she had no idea her differences would make her give up everything she has come to know. Tamriel was not afraid to get her hands dirty, she ran right into any situation and she could hold her own in a fight. There were plenty of times where I thought she was being difficult but there were other times I thought she took something way to well. Leyth was attracted to Tamriel right away. He goes between pulling her close and pushing her away many times. The chemistry was strong between the two and he was all alpha male towards her but it took a bit for me to warm up to him, especially when he would flip a switch so easily. The ending was probably my favorite part of the book so I would have read it again just for that part.

I enjoyed SILENCE OF THE WOLVES but it was one of those stories that when I finished it didn't really leave much of an impression behind. I might pick up book 2 to see what happens next but It wont be something on my wish list.

I understand that authors try and make things more interesting for readers by creating memorable names or terms for characters or groups of characters. Sometimes I think it just isn't necessary, especially in a genre that has a vast amount of books to choose from. So it would have sufficed to call the tuhrned just the turned. That extra H just bugged me. I would also suggest the author take a closer look at the use of semi-colons and commas in the first chapter or two. Sometimes less is more.
Overall I found the story very predictable and the writing simplistic. The characters need more depth and the interaction needs to be less telling and more showing.
Saying that though you can clearly feel the enthusiasm in the story and the spark of creativity.
On a more personal plot note Leyth needs to be smacked round the head with a tire iron for his quick use of demeaning vocabulary towards females when he is angry. Perhaps Tam can teach him not to do that in the next book.

Oh goodness. I downloaded this last night because I was up and without something to read.
I have to say, I haven't slept much.. I mean oh god! I can't put it down.
I keep trying to put it down... But I can't.
I am not ashamed to admit that I have taken a day of holiday from work today because I physically can't stop reading this book. I just cant.
So as for a review? I would say BE CAREFUL buying this book, it will take over your world, and before you know it, Tamriel and Leyth will be the only people on the earth you care about.
I LOVE THIS BOOK.
Cudos to the Author.
Okay. I have to go now. I need to read.

Tamriel has never really felt like she belongs. One night while walking home from work, she hears a cry for help and goes racing to the rescue. She ends up fighting a man with unlimited strength and endurance to save a hurt woman. Tamriel gets knocked out, and wakes up in a medical clinic in intense pain. Leyth has secretly been following Tam for weeks, waiting to see if she would go through the change that would make her a werewolf like himself and her father. He helps her come to terms with the world she is now part of, while resisting the draw they feel to each other. Meanwhile, a new threat is coming and no one is safe.
The book had a good plot, but I just had a hard time getting into the book. The characters were only semi interesting, and I did not become too invested in them. I absolutely hate using "misunderstanding" and lack of communication as reasoning for why a couple can't be together. That just makes me sigh in frustration because there are so many other things that could be used. And they are instantly in love and all problems are resolved. I did not buy it. The story line did pick up about half way through, and the mystery and action became more engaging and I finally felt like I could connect with Tam and became invested in her story and the outcome.
Also, the word grin or grinned was way overused. Especially at the wrong times! Something traumatic happened and all of a sudden the characters are grinning at each other. What?
There were too many parts that are completely unrealistic. And yes I know it was a paranormal book, which are my favorite anyway, but this was just too much so. Tam is a brand new wolf, been through a hard week and bam, she is sent on her own to take down the powerful leader of everyone? Really? Because I would not have bet on her to save my people if I had been the alpha. It was too ridiculous. And that was just one example in a book full of them.
It was just an ehh book for me, one I could put down and stop thinking about with no problem. I am not sure if I will continue if more books are written in this series or not. Maybe they will get better, I am not sure.

It took me a little bit to get into this book, not because the beginning was slow or anything, the story was extremely fast-paced, but because I wasn't sure about the main character or with hoe believable some of the plot seemed to be. Turns out, I'm lucky, and thrilled, that I didn't give up. This book, and its author, are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I got pulled into this book and absolutely fell in love with everything about it. Tamriel, the main character, is about as bad-ass as they come. She has attitude, and has the skills to one hundred percent back that attitude up. She's the type of girl I wish I could be. Plus, of course, she is gorgeous (which I'd also love to be lol). The best part? She looks out for others and no matter what it may cost her, will do everything she possibly can to help. Even when thrown into a strange circumstance that should leave her crying in a ball in the corner, she refuses to be weak and let things get the best of her. Luckily, the amazing author Hanna Pole puts in some flaws so that I wouldn't end up hating the main character....mostly emotional at times, but not very often thank god, and my favorite sin, lust ;) Which on that topic, ohhhh boy do I love the main male character Leyth. Throw me a yummy protective werewolf any day. With out getting too much into it, this book takes Tamriel on a path of learning about herself...and oh boy are there some curves in there, and learning and getting closer to Leyth...lucky... Also learning about her new world, whether she actually wants to or not. I'm sooo happy that this is part of a series, because Ms. Pole did an AMAZING job of building the world these characters live in and making it as intricate as possible...even better is that the series goes out to let you learn about other main characters that you learn to love just by the little bit you learn about them here. Although I'll be furious if I don't get some extra details on Tamriel and Leyth of course!!!

I received this book free from netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I really loved this cover from far away, but when I got up close I found the models expression rather odd. I had a hard time getting into this book. I thought that the summary sounded great, but I found the first half of the book very slow. Even when the action was picking up I found it to be muted. I think what was missing for me were the small details. I NEED DETAILS!! And the only details I got were " she grabbed his cock", which I could have used with out haha. But in saying that, Silence of the Wolves did eventually pick up at the end of the book. I would continue this series because I do want to find out what happens to the other who went missing.
Tam was a fairly good female lead. I found her to be a kick- ass heroine. But I felt like at the beginning she seemed a lot younger than at the end of the book and that was confusing for me because it seemed like she aged a lot over the course of the book. And it wasn't maturity wise, just like actual age. Leyth made me mad. At the start of the book he was that jock asshole in school, then all of a sudden he would be a nice guy. But if he got pissed off then he would revert back to the sexist douche that he really is. But the at the end he was the sweetest guy ever, like make up your mind already. If I was Tam would have been very leery of him.
This book started off slow but did finally pick up at the end, and it was enough to make me want to continue with the series. I would recommend this book the werewolf lovers but I would warn them about the slow start.

Tam is your average everyday Journalist in training, hoping to one day be an Investigative reporter, the only difference is that she has awesome hearing, can run faster than normal and has an impeccable sense of smell :) She thinks things are going good for her until one day she wakes up in her apartment and has lost a week, more strange is a man is sitting outside her window.

After following a wolf who happens to be in the spot where the man was, she gets trapped and learns that she is a werewolf. Denial is easy but it sure answer a few things about herself. Then there is Leyth, there is just something about him that makes her feel safe....

Now this is my type of story, one that I'm drawn too more often than not. I was pulled right in from the beginning, wanting to learn more about Tam, this mystery behind Leyth and what happens to Tam if and when she accepts that she is actually a werewolf. I loved the love/hate dynamic between the two of them and this added just that extra touch to the story. The story itself was at a great pace with just the right touch of romance and action. I truly enjoyed this book and found myself not wanting to put it down (yes I know that has happened a lot lately but I'm not lying lol).

Definitely a great addition to your bookshelf!

Tamriel is a journalist on the lookout for the story of her career. She finds a great story, but she can’t actually tell anyone about it as she is right in the middle of it!

Tamriel finds herself being told she is a werewolf, and unable to believe it she tries to continue with her day to day life. She very quickly finds that almost impossible to do as she is drawn further into the world of paranormal creatures she had believed was just a myth up until now.

The author has written a book which drew me in. The descriptive work is extremely good. I could almost see in my head what was happening as I read the words on the page. For a debut book the author has written something which I believe is fields ahead of the competition.

I loved the relationship between Tamriel and Leyth. She was just a job to him, but over the years has become a lot more. But will Tamriel turn her back on Leyth as she finds out more about his world?

All in all a great first book which I highly recommend.

I was lucky enough to be sent this book by Netgalley and have really enjoyed reading it. The plotline for what is to be a series of books about Tamriel, Leyth and their paranormal friends and families is exciting, romantic, spine-chilling and sometimes frustrating but it draws the reader into a world where the supernatural weaves its spell around you and leaves you wanting more by the end of the book. I would have been happy to award it 5 stars were it not for the fact that the writing is rather unpolished and oftentimes the points are a bit laboured saying much the same thing several times over. I felt that the quite frequent use of mild swearing did little to enhance the story and sometimes became quite intrusive too. However, if you take into account that this is the first book from Hannah Pole, I feel it is well worth reading and would happily recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal fiction because the plot is so good.

Set not too far from my own home, not too far underground is a kingdom to which I'm sure I belong...Nah! Just wishing! This is an amazing debut book featuring not just the common werewolves and vampires but also magi, wiccans (not witches, and I was dancing for joy to discover that!) shifters and a myriad of other mythical creatures. They are brought to life with the threat of the Circle and being turhned (you don't want that to happen. Believe me!) Loved the slow developing, steamy romance and strong female character! Well done!...and cannot wait to read the next book! Cliffhanger endings are AWESOME!

I do enjoy a bit of Urban Fantasy and this is an enjoyable bit to be sure! the characters draw you in from the start and by the end feel like friends you don't want to bid farewell. The action and suspense will take you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and keep you reading until the small hours, not daring to leave the narrative because you just have to know where it's going. To say I thoroughly enjoyed this book would be to do it a disservice. It is a fantastic work of fiction and a great read.

Thought I'd already left my review here, apparently not!

Wow! What a start to the series. Hannah really has a flare not only for writing but for keeping it fresh and letting you know who's writing. Too many books sound like they were written by the same 3 people and Hannah's is different which is what I think originally hooked me on page 1. Hannah's characters are just so full of life and well.. character!

Now I will admit that I wasn't too sure at first, werewolves and such aren't really my thing (especially after the whole Twilight thing - seriously WTF was that all about!?) and I'll still say that I'm still not in the whole supernatural thing even after reading this book but after reading Silence of the Wolves I'm bloody excited for the rest of the series!

There's everything you could want from a strong fictional read: an immense new world to explore with many creatures, exciting characters, TENSE romance (and that's coming from a guy!), a thick plot with twists, and a whole lot of action along the way!

I've read in a couple of the other reviews that people were having issues with parts of this book but were putting the blame down to the editor rather than the author and having read the book, and being someone who struggles to see past those kinds of things myself, I have to agree that the editing isn't great. But that is definitely down to the editor rather than Hannah. Hannah has created a huge intricate world full of life and adventure, don't let some bad editing put you off. I saw past it and it was bloody well worth it!

BRING ON BOOK 2!!!

Turned out I loved it. Fantastic start to a new paranormal romance. The beginning was a little choppy for me, odd use of words in some cases that didn't seem to sit right in my opinion and a little repetitive, but I'm so glad i stuck with it as it turned out to be awesome.
I loved the world building. So diverse and original with a mix of all sorts of supernatural beings. Even the Pack structuring had a rather unique feel to it. Bonus points for being set in the UK, and even more points for not being set in London.
Plenty of action, with a mix of sizzling romance and a healthy dollop of angst. There were several times I wanted to shove Tamriel and Leyth together and say just kiss already! The tension between them and the will they won't they pull was a little annoying at first. Leyth started off reminding me of a Kresley Cole male alpha - me big strong man. You female need protecting. Let me man do the work. It was another thing that got better as the story developed.
Tamriel was an immensely likeable lead female, thrown into something she was completely unprepared for, and had to learn to cope with it. Which she did pretty well. She grew throughout the book and really came into the world of the pack and came out head held high.
The ending was perfect, and even made my eyes mist over. Until the cliff hanger lead into the next book. I can easily see myself becoming very addicted to this series.

This novel hits the ground running. One minute I'm thinking, "Okay, I'm ready for another Werewolf romance," next I'm submersed in action.

When I was looking around at other reviews on Amazon and Goodreads the first thing I noticed was that there seems to be a unanimous 5-star rating (at this time). People love this book, not just me.

The characters are wonderful, the plot is fascinating. Hannah Pole is a strong writer with a great story to tell.
