USA TODAY Bestselling Author Brandt Legg uses his unusual real life experiences to create page-turning novels. He’s traveled with CIA agents, dined with senators and congressmen, mingled with astronauts, chatted with governors and presidential candidates, had a private conversation with a Secretary of Defense he still doesn’t like to talk about, hung out with Oscar and Grammy winners, had drinks at the State Department, been pursued by tabloid reporters, and spent a birthday at the White House by invitation from the President of the United States.

At age eight, Legg's father died suddenly, plunging his family into poverty. Two years later, while suffering from crippling migraines, he started in business, and turned a hobby into a multi-million-dollar empire. National media dubbed him the “Teen Tycoon,” and by the mid-eighties, Legg was one of the top young entrepreneurs in America, appearing as high as number twenty-four on the list (when Steve Jobs was #1, Bill Gates #4, and Michael Dell #6). Legg still jokes that he should have gone into computers.

By his twenties, after years of buying and selling businesses, leveraging, and risk-taking, the high-flying Legg became ensnarled in the financial whirlwind of the junk bond eighties. The stock market crashed and a firestorm of trouble came down. The Teen Tycoon racked up more than a million dollars in legal fees, was betrayed by those closest to him, lost his entire fortune, and ended up serving time for financial improprieties.

After a year, Legg emerged from federal prison, chastened and wiser, and began anew. More than twenty-five years later, he’s now using all that hard-earned firsthand knowledge of conspiracies, corruption and high finance to weave his tales. Legg’s books pulse with authenticity.

His series have excited nearly a million readers around the world. Although he refused an offer to make a television movie about his life as a teenage millionaire, his autobiography is in the works. There has also been interest from Hollywood to turn his thrillers into films. With any luck, one day you’ll see your favorite characters on screen.

Legg now writes full time – his favorite endeavor ever! For more information, visit BrandtLegg.com, or to contact Brandt directly, email him: Brandt@BrandtLegg.com, he loves to hear from readers and always responds!

I'm one of the lucky ones who got an advance copy of Outin. It was just as adventurous and inspiring as Outview, but also reflected deeper concepts that resonated in a very meaningful way. Outin sets a new standard for me in what I long for in fiction: I want to be inspired and enriched and taught new things about the way we live in, and outside of, this world - what a magical combination to be richly entertained while at the same time being empowered with ideas that elevate and transcend the world as most of us know it. Brandt Legg is quite a visionary....

I'm trying to be patient for the day that the second book of the Inner Movement triology is publicly released so I can finally talk about Outin with all my friends who read AND LOVED Outview. Luckily for them and me, that day is near! Read this book if you want to share in and be reminded with the magic and mystery of life - it's a beautiful and entertaining ride.

I recently finished the first in this series and so had to give this book a go.
We continue the journey with Nate in this thriller/sci-fi as he saves the lives of his friends and all those around him.
A fast-paced adventure and well worth the time to read.

"Outin" by Brandt Legg is the second in his inner Movement trilogy (or maybe series?) and another fascinating blend of sci-fi / fantasy novel with paranormal and spiritual components.
The story picks up where the first book ended. Nate, his brother and friends are still on the run from Lightyear and on their journey are helped by many helpful mystics. In this book their first escape brings them through a portal to the dimension of Outin, a magical realm.
Several mystics or sages explain Nate about the dimensions, the concept of time and many new age/ spiritual / esoteric concepts that are nowadays becoming increasingly popular and part of many people's believe system. Legg does an excellent job at explaining these concepts and uses them to bring relevance to the plot. I found these parts particularly interesting and well written, although depending on each reader's believe system some concepts will be perceived as fantasy (which also works well).
Again, there is a fascinating blend of philosophy, dystopian elements and some thrilling action. Written for young adults this instalment has a smoother flow and benefits from the establishment of the characters and the concept in the first book.
Legg is more playful in this novel with his incredibly imaginative and magic world creation. I hope many young and older readers will dive into the story and take to heart the many wise observations and rather encouraging messages that are woven into the dialogue and the character development.
Most of all however this is a very entertaining story which sadly will be concluded in the next instalments and for now leaves us with an open ending

"Time's a funny thing..."

Nate and his brother Dustin find themselves in "Outin," a dimension outside our world and our perception of time, after the rather explosive ending of the first book. The place of secrets to be learnt, the possibilities to be discovered, and "too much to believe" for the uninitiated.

"I'm Nathan Ryder, I'm sixteen, I'm from Ashland, Oregon, it's October--," Nate keeps repeating to himself, not fully believing it anymore. As we'll see from later in the book, he is and he isn't.

The Ryder brothers are on the run. Agent Fitts, the primary antagonist from the first book, is replaced with a more sinister figure, Luther Storch, director of Lightyear, the mysterious government organization that is using psychics and their powers for nefarious, self-serving purposes.

Spencer, the most prominent mystic and Nate's teacher in using the "soul abilities", still plays an important role, but more mystics step forward to teach and guide Nate and his friends in this novel.

Nate learns, finds allies, visits places and times, has girl problems. He is still the teenager from the first book, but he is no longer a child. He is a hope for many, a threat to the powerful few, but all he really wants is to protect the ones he loves. Which might present a problem. Is it worth sacrificing a few to save thousands? Perhaps, but for Nate it is not so simple--those few are the people he treasures most.

This book makes good use of both problem-oriented and character-driven plot devices. For example, Dustin, as some of the more perceptive readers might have expected from the first book, is not exactly getting along with Nate and some of his friends. Linh and Amber have their own issues to deal with; and the problems these two need to sort out between themselves are not so easily solved.

There is more adventure in this second book of The Inner Movement series; some of it will make the reader change perception of the characters. The changes in Linh were a bit of a revelation for me. The atmosphere is more intense, "war-zone mentality" influences the actions and choices of the main heroes.

Still, the book remains true to its main message: spiritual development and awakening. The revelations about the nature of time and space get deeper and more profound. Any reader who is into New Age philosophy will drink "Outin" like water to satisfy their thirst for the eclectic. For a casual Sci-Fi reader, this book is an awesomely trippy journey through what might be possible. To quote: "We only exist in our own imaginations." Recommended.

"Outin" is the second book in Brandt Legg’s Inner Movement science fiction/fantasy trilogy in which Nate, the protagonist, continues his quest to discover secrets of the past and avoid Lightyear. And the stakes are even higher in this story.

The book has all the elements that make is an exciting thriller: there’s time travel, loss of friends, decisions that can make a difference between life and death, love, and action-packed scenes. All those elements add up to a fantastic book, but that’s what’s visible on the surface, on the level of plot.

There’s much more to the story that many readers will find appealing. What I enjoyed most about this book (as well as the first book,"Outview") are the insightful philosophical and spiritual observations and beautifully-written imaginative descriptions that are woven into the fabric of the plot and into the lives of the characters. Here are some of them: “…only one thing can steal your powers – fear,” “the future is a murky place shrouded by fog,” and “fear prevents much.” The theme of fear and overcoming fear to reach goals is a recurring one in this book, and the readers can’t help but question their own ways of dealing with fear in their lives.

I love Brandt Legg’s use of language. He is a writer and a photographer, so his keen power of observation doesn’t come as a surprise. But it still delights. I loved his description of the Rainbow Lake, with its “pockets and bands of bright Kool-Aid colored water – reds mixing with yellows, blending to orange, yellow overlapping blue turning green.” What a cinematic image, making the lake come alive on the pages of this exciting novel!

The language of this novel is precise and descriptive without being overly wordy. Here are just a couple of my favorite phrases: “the jumble of yellow cabs” (in Manhattan), “the joys of Dreams Lake helped disperse the morning’s traumas,” or ”time was attacking us from many sides.”

A great novel that is both entertaining and philosophical. Recommended.

"Outin" by Brandt Legg is the second in his inner Movement trilogy and I can't wait for the third one. This is another fascinating blend of sci-fi/fantasy novel.
We pick up where the first book ended. Can Nate defeat the most powerful government and military the world has ever known with peace and love?

The portal opened onto the dark beach and Wandus greeted Nate and in his wonderful voice the reader can really hear his words of wisdom. "You have journeyed long since we last met, my friend. To death and back, to love and betrayal, anger and elation, peaceful victory and violent defeat... yes, you are old in your eyes now." I feel old. I'm lost and confused." He smiled. That is when the greatest treasures are closest." Like many of the mystics who are wise and grand in this book, Wandus is a favorite of mine.

Legg is so imaginative and the windows into other dimensions are exciting and filled with so many creative futures and many things can go wrong. There are many great characters that are fully developed, whether loved or hated, they all compliment each other. Each alternate future holds keys to solving who is Lightyear? I hope many readers of all ages will read this story with many encouraging messages that are throughout both books. Begin with Book 1 "Outview" it sets the stage. I can't wait for book three as an old favorite enters again. Yay Rose

I just finished reading an advanced reading copy of Outin and have to say this exciting sequel to Outview is even better than the first book of the Inner movement. A breathtaking thriller, Outin also has more of the metaphysical elements that made Outview so unique. The romance part could have heated up more but maybe the author is saving that for the final installment. Nate does meets new mystics and faces desperate challenges that make his adventures in book one seem easy. The author also demonstrates his ability at world building. I recommend this book YA fans and everyone who enjoys visionary fiction. Fans of Outview are in for a treat (and it should be noted that you need to read Outview before reading Outin). Bring on book three!

I was given an advance reading copy of Outin (book two of the Inner Movement trilogy). Outin is a exciting follow-up to Brandt Legg's extraordinary debut novel, Outview. Nate continues to run and learn, encountering more mystics and visiting fantastical places. Fans of the mystical and metaphysical aspects of Outview will love Outin and if the thriller part of the story was your thing then Outin turns it up a notch. This book will appeal to all ages and has me waiting for book three!

I received a copy of this book from the author and enjoyed it thoroughly. The characters draw the reader in and the plot keeps one on your toes. However, I was disappointed that this second book did not wrap up as nicely as the first in the series as it left it on a much larger cliff with many things still in the air. On the other hand, this is the same reason that will keep me looking forward to the final book in the series.

I loved this book. Outin is exciting, engaging and fun at the same time. Nate's fascinating saga continues and Brandt Legg pulls us in right away with some big challenges for Nate and his friends. More challenges for the Movement as it grows and more surprises for us.
If you liked Outview you'll love Outin. If you haven't read Outview, read it first and then be like me and count the days until the final book comes out - hurry. You're going to love it!

After thoroughly enjoying Outview (The Inner Movement) Book 1, I could't not read 'Outlin'. This is a great continuation of what's building up to be a classic fantasy series. 'Outlin' starts directly where 'Outview' left off and hurtles you along the story. Again filled with wonderful characters and great spiritual and fantasy concepts 'Outlin' leaves you gasping for air and eagerly awaiting the next thrilling installment.

I received a copy of "Outin" (Inner Movement, #2) by Brandt Legg in exchange for an honest review. This is a great second installment from the first book in the trilogy "Outview." This book continues the adventures of Nate and Yangchen and the story of the Movement. The book is about young adults but can be enjoyed by all ages. This novel combines elements of sci-fi, adventure and paranormal and is well-written. I personally enjoyed this book more than "Outview."

They made it back. Even after finding out that Nate and Dustin's father had been murdered by the government Lightyear, but Nate had been saved to help the world, based on his supernatural powers. Nate had killed agent Fitts that had tried to intervene, and now Nate is wanted for murder. Dustin had opened an invisible veil, a portal and they were all transformed into another world.

Then in this different dimension, they meet Nate from the future.(11 months older) His "future self" tells him that, Nate is missing and their mom is in federal custody. And his girlfriends, Amber and Linh are dead. His best friend, Kyle is still alive. His future self tells him, that Nate is the next mystic...and they are going to change the future. They are now wandering in an extraordinary dimension, called "Outin." In order to change the course of history, and prevent these two deaths, and their mother's arrest, they have to alter the right event in the correct sequence...Cause and Effect.

Outin is the land of colored birds and bubbles. One of the most interesting things the group found on Outin were Windows, windows of a time and place, a frozen memory. An Outin month is equivalent to about an hour in reverse time. The future self told them to swim in each of the four lakes everyday, each with it's own power, dealing with fear, nourishment, dreams and fantasies and glimpses of the future. Then with the help of guides and teachers, they must master the five great powers.

The people behind Lightyear are attempting to take control of the world. The only thing that can stop them is a mass awakening.

Brandt Legg is a visionary and I was captivated with this novel from beginning to end. He manages to continue to ramp up the tension and intrigue. This novel explores concepts of enlightenment, reincarnation, good versus evil, portals, time and dimensions and life and death. The author does a god job to explain these concepts, as they relate to his novel, which adds substance to the novel. But most important are the deep many messages in the book, and thus will appeal to all ages. I would recommend that you read "Outview" before you read "Outin", as the first novel sets the stage for what is about to happen.

"What kind of a future will be left?"

I won a copy from Goodreads First Reads.

Outin is certainly an improvement from the last book, Outview (review available! yay!). In fact, I actually enjoy Outin much more than Outview. But if you just want to read Outin and not Outview, think twice. Unfortunately Outin doesn't do recaps or summarizing from the previous book, Outview (Inner Movement Trilogy #1). (Outview has a review!)

Outin's plot is full of twist and turns. Poor Nate has to fight/avoid Lightyear to prevent himself and others from getting killed. The conflict's clear. It's majorly good versus evil. But to fight evil, the plot and book gets a little complicated. As in complicated as the Millenium Prize Problems. Okay, not that complicated, but I think you get the picture, right?

I have to make sure readers understand this: The Outin/Outview World is sort of difficult to understand. It will be best if readers take notes to remember what exactly is going on. (I didn't but I have a really, really good and impressive memory.) There's a lot of events going around, not to mentioned the facts and odd people.

The ending is so "are you kidding me?" Yeah, it's basically like that. Nate went through all the sacrifices and hardships so he can find out that ohhh! I can't believe that. He may have destroyed ______ but he now has to destroy _________. That's not a nice ending. It's a rude cliffhanger that will rip readers from the mind and soul.

Every time I think of Outin, I start to imagine these movies: Back to the Future and Terminator. Yes, Outin involves some serious kicking and time traveling. Without the fancy and scientific machines/cars or crazy Arnold Schwarzenegger robots programmed to kill John Connor. Too bad there isn't some nice cars or robots.

Character:

Nate: I sometimes think Nate is so arrogant and irritating. He has a good heart, but he's sometimes too thick. Nate has flaws, which makes him an interesting character. One flaw is the ability/tendency to blame others for faults. He doesn't think before he acts. He is the type who "attacks first, then ask questions/investigate suspicious persons."

Rating: Four out of Five

The characters from Brandt Legg's "Outview" stayed in my mind long after I had finished the book - I felt, in some ways bereft, and hurried back to download "Outin," the second installment of the Inner Movement trilogy - the hardest section, in my opinion, the middle that tends to sag like a beery old gentleman's waistline.

I do not know Mr. Legg, but assume he is svelte - as is the continuing journey of young Nate, his traveling companions and the brother he has helped escape from the high whispering walls of an insane asylum. Again, we are treated to Legg's signature style of fantasy and the paranormal mixed with the wisdom of the ancients and a glimpse of the abyss that separates utopia from dystopia - in fact, I imagine the author has peered into that dark space himself and it is from that point that he has stood back and created a story for young people that contains a philosophy that they may not entirely understand but which will cling to them like a burr and guide them in the sure subtle way in which the author writes his books.

I was give a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Having read the first instalment of this trilogy, I was eagerly anticipating this second novel and it certainly didn't fail to build on the brilliance of the first.
Continuing the exciting but intense journey of Nate, this book is a must read if you enjoy thrilling, fast-paced action. This story drew me painlessly through the pages as I eagerly followed the fantasy and danger faced by Nate.
The previous book was excellent and this continues as brilliantly with new characters as well as old favourites in cleverly described settings.
Having now completed two of the three I can't wait to read the final book in this fantasy series.

A gripping and thrilling read

Outin (The Inner Movement)

I was give a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the superb first book by Legg- thoughts, hopes and ideas are in place for a great second novel. The second book Outin meets all expectations and reaches beyond- fantastic!

Fans of the first book in the series need to pick up this thrilling read. The story is full to the brim with adventure, mysticism and spiritual undertones. Readers will be gripped to the pages and intrigued as the tale develops.

Again, great characters with a mix of magic, suspense, fantasy and plot twists.

Highly recommended 5*****

Outin is the sequel to Outview and is the second in Legg’s trilogy. This spiritual/sci-fi/fantasy novel continues on where Outview left off. We follow Nate and his brother as they are on the run while trying to prevent a disaster of epic proportions all while trying to save those closest to them. Legg’s maturity as an author is evident in Outin as the sequel flows even better than the first. Legg will continue to draw you into his world of new age/spiritual concepts. I look forward to reading, what I fear will be, the final installment in this series. I am intrigued to find out what Legg has planned for his next project.

I started OUTIN with a great expectation as the earlier book OUTVIEW really ended in such a point that you will be eager to know the next. But to my utter disappointment, OUTIN became really really boring after 1/3rd of the book and it continued to 2/3rd. I completed 6-7 other novels by that time. But if you somehow manage to overcome this part , after that the book again start to get its pace back and it was a good ending. Looking forward for the OUTMOVE (though I already started :-) ).

One more point to mention, till OUTIN, Nathan is no where a leader, he is rather a very weak personality to be one. Really hoping for some change in the next part.

All the best to the Author.

Outin (Inner Movement #2) by Brandt Legg

Outin (Inner Movement #2) by Brandt Legg starts right where the last book leaves off. They stepped through the hole and on the other side was Nate eleven months older. Older Nate was explaining to Dustin and younger Nate everything that has happened in the past eleven months and it hasn’t been good. Older Nate tells them that Amber and Linh died. (Way to start the book off with a bang.)

They both leave the Outin and stay at Cervantes Island owned by Booker Lipton (Corporate raider). While on the island Nate tries to teach Dustin what he knows and he also practices himself. After Nate has a fight with Dustin, Nate takes a walk and meets a friend of Bookers named Wandus. Nate asks Wandus if he is a mystic but Wandus tells him that he considers himself a seeker. Wandus teaches Nate some valuable lessons and especially about eating a more healthy diet. Wandus tells him that a more healthy diet will help his powers.

Nate goes to the Hibbs Mausoleum and retrieves files, papers, thumb drives and CD’s which gave them enough evidence to expose Lightyear. Nate had an Outview that he should go to Graydon Manor and retrieves some papers that are connected in protecting the jadeo.

Nate keeps on trying different things to change the outcome of Amber and Linh dying. One way is when he goes and meets with Luther Storch, the head of Lightyear on Roosevelt island. At that meeting Storch asks Nate to join Lightyear and their cause and Nate tells him to shove it. Of course Storch and the military try and kill him but are not successful. He escapes by getting in an RV but later jumps out and is picked up by one of Bookers men.

Booker’s employee takes him to Rust Nature Sanctuary which borders Graydon Manor. While Nate is there, Lightyear lays siege to the mausoleum and he almost gets caught but Bookers helicopter takes him away to another island where he meets up with Spencer.

On the morning of the seventh day of being on the island, Nate has a vision of Amber, Linh and Kyle being ambushed by Federal agents and Linh was going to die. Nate goes to save them (which he does) and ends up being serious injured after a rocket blew up the tower of the Shakespeare theater in Ashland.. If it wasn’t for Linh and the others quick thinking to get him into the Outin so he could get in the healing waters of Floral Lake, he would have died.

After Nate wakes up, Linh, Amber, and Kyle begin to tell Nate everything that happened after the rocket blew up. They explained they remembered his stories of Outin and Floral lake so they knew where they had to take him there. They tell Nate they found a note from Dustin. It tells that he went through a window so he could fix some of the mistakes he made and that Nate needed to find the 5th lake in Outin. They decide they need to find Dustin and would also look for the lake. While exploring Outin, somehow Lightyear’s soldiers infiltrated Outin and were after them again. They end up capturing a soldier but they don’t know what to do with him. So while Nate,Amber and Kyle where talking, Linh picks up the soldiers automatic weapon and kills him.

After they killed the soldier, they continued to look for Dustin and found him in a window. Dustin speaks to him but sees Dustin jump. Nate tries to dive after him but they hold him back. Nate thinks Dustin is dead.

They leave Outin and are found by another mystic Yangchen. She teaches them so advanced kellering and tells them that the only way to beat Lightyear is through non-violence. Spencer ends up finding Nate and the others. He starts yelling at Yangchen for kidnapping Nate and the others. They end up staying at what is called Greater World, where they get some rest. While they are there, Lightyear blows up a mall and blames Nate and Dustin. They decide they need to find Dustin so Nate, Amber and Linh go back to Outin.

While Nate and the girls go to Outin, Kyle stayed behind because he wanted to speak with his Uncle through a portal to tell him what was going on and give him a pep talk. The government was holding his Uncle for questioning. After Nate and the girls had been in Outin for a while, they had not seen Kyle and they started to worry. They thought he might be at the lodge, so they went there looking for him. They walked in and found that Kyle was shot. Nate takes him to Floral Lake but realizes he is too late and Kyle is dead.

Nate does find Dustin in Outin, so Nate and Dustin make the tape of Storch talking to Nate on Roosevelt Island. Additionally they are able to get all the military soldiers out of Outin and Nate seals the entrances up.

Nate and the girls use a window to leave. Nate contacts Spencer and Booker on the astral to let them know where they could find them. The window led them out of Outin and into Cuba, three months ahead of time. One of Bookers contacts takes Nate and the girls to Booker. Booker tells Nate to go easy on Spencer because he has had a hard time with everything.

Spencer tells Nate he has to meet with Storch again after the tape is released. After a couple of days, Nate uses a portal to drop in on Storch in his office, Storch is furious and tells Nate he’s a dead man. The door opens and two darts are shot in Storch’s neck and Nate is finally able to see Storch’s soul in the split second before he is tossed back to Wizard Island. Nate finally understands why he had to see Storch. He finally knows who has Storch’s soul in this lifetime and he is not happy.

After they leave Cuba, the place they were staying at was raided. Nate tries to figure out how every place they have stayed at ends up getting raided. He thinks Dustin is the traitor. He contacts Dustin by astral and tells him he knows he’s the traitor. However, Dustin tells him that he isn’t the leak but Nate himself is the leak. Dustin begins to tell him that because of the advance kellering he is using, he has an open channel with his mom and his mom has been giving the information to Lightyear. Nate asks his mom and she tells him that she is the one giving them the information. Nate cuts off his kellering with her.

Later, when Nate and the group get to Taos, Nate feels that his mother has died. Yangchen tells Nate that his mother was not killed by Lightyear but by a faction of the movement known as the IF (Inner Force). Nate asks Yangchen to help him find the Dark mystic. She tells him he isn’t ready for the dark mystic. Yangchen tells Nate there is a way to defeat them. Nate realizes that Yangchen is right and then is happy and scared at the same time because he sees is Aunt Rose and Clastier walk into the shack they were in.

All I can say is another brilliant job by Brandt Legg with the second book in the series. It definitely doesn’t have the second book slump. Legg has written a breathtaking view on a subject that allows the reader to immerse themselves into another dimension that he has created.

Legg’s written words are mind-blowing. They flow effortlessly throughout the story and allow the reader to throw themselves into the story. His imagination makes the story come alive. The characters are well developed and the story progresses nicely. There is never a dull moment. I enjoyed this book better than the first. The imagery in this book is phenomenal. This is an awe-inspiring follow up to Outview and if you miss reading this fabulous book, you will return to this time and slap yourself silly.

The word is out. The archenemy of Nate and the Inner Movement is the leader of a secretive government organisation called Lightyear. His name is Storch and he wants Nate killed.
And somehow Lightyear is keeping up with Nate's movements, is planning on some moves to have friends and family incarcerated and even framing Nate as an assassin.
Can a move to a secretive alternate reality, called the Outin, keep Storch and the Lightyear at bay?.
This second book in the Inner movement series by author Brandt Legg is quite humdinger with all kinds of suspenseful events (present and future) forcing plans by Nate and company to keep on changing direction.
Believe me, there is an incredible lot happening in this book. Which is probably why your fingers will suffer the brunt of it.
Enjoy.

Keeps things moving along at a decent pace for the story line. The YA situation raises it's head a little more with a challenge for the 16-17 year-old protagonist having in dealing with relationships between himself and two girls. If it weren't for that and occasional age mentions, I'd overlook it and forget about it. That said, it's a great read with all the extra-normal powers being developed continually and constantly dealing with the threats posed by the bad guys. For mystery lovers, there was some foreshadowing of an issue about who was leaking the info about where people were--but you'll have to figure it out for yourself. By the time that was resolved, I'd forgotten about my early suspicion. Lots of action and suspense. If you liked the first book in the trilogy, you'll like this one too. But you should read the first one before this; it won't work well as a standalone.

I am now sure these must be books for teens. It is a cute concept. Fifteen year old is the new supposed "special one" to help change the world into a ultra senstive loving world. With sages to advise him but give no answers because he must figure it out himself. Becoming invisible, changing into other shapes, skyclimbing and more super powers. I'd recommend it to teenagers.

Magic

So absorbed by these books. A great pleasure to read them. I’d recommend this to anyone that feels that there’s more to life than what we see. Fact or fiction doesn’t matter, if it can be imagined it can be real.

Could not stop reading. Great plot and story concept. I red right through all three books of Brandt Legg's Cosiga series and the Outin series is even better.

A captivating second book, that'll keep you on the edge with so many things to offer.

I won't say the writing is excellent but the story line makes up for this and will keep you moving.

Outin by Brandt Legg is the second book of the Inner Movement series. The story continues swiftly where the first book ended. It introduces a new setting, a new world, a dimension -- Outin -- wherein new things and a lot of discoveries were learned. Outin seemed to be a secured dimension where the characters could refresh themselves spiritually, emotionally and physically. A month in Outin is an hour in reverse time so they had a lot of time to heal, think, and reflect. With the help of Future Nate, Nate and Dustin learned about the four lakes: (1) Star Falls -- which helps conquer fear, (2) Floral Lake -- for nourishment, (3) Dreams Lake -- for dreams and fantasies, and (4) Rainbow Lake -- for some glimpse into the future. They spent 8 weeks in all four lakes and practiced their powers. Another great thing in Outin is the different windows where they can go to a place so easily. And so with the new safe place, the characters were able to strengthen their different abilities. Until Lightyear, the secret government group, found the same dimension where they were staying. Their journey continued as more and more complexities such as death and other matters were involved (including romance which I think will be expounded more in the third book I hope!). Deciding who to trust was now different. Outin turned out to be a chaotic place; an entirely different place to be in.

What I like about the story is that it kept me wanting for more every end of each chapter. It kept me interested because of how the story evolved from less complicated to super chaotic adventure. It totally captured my curiosity about who is telling the truth, who is loyal, who is real. It is a great fantasy story to read. And I honestly had a lot of WHAT?!?! moments while going through it. So, I really enjoyed the story and I definitely recommend everyone who likes reading fantasy genre to give this series a go!

Looking forward to read the third book entitled Outmove.

To add more, I would like to thank Mr. Brandt Legg for being so generous in giving me the second book. Congratulations for publishing such a story. Thank you, sir!

Outview
Recently I have been reading the thrilling second book in the Inner Movement Trilogy called Outin by Brandt Legg. This is the second book in the only trilogy that Legg has written. Legg was a prodigy as a child.
The book starts where the first book Outview left off. As Nate and his friends get deeper into all of this Lightyear business, they find themselves situations that are hard to get out of. They are constantly stuck in some kind of battle with Lightyear agents or arguments with friends and family that have been helping through all of this madness. The future of this world depends on Nate staying alive and defeating Lightyear.
This book deals with 5 teens trying to stay alive to take down this group in the government called Lightyear and lessons that were dealt with in this book include learning how to hide and stay out of trouble and deal with awful situations. Legg was really good at making some parts easy to understand when it seemed like it would be difficult to understand.

The book really caught my attention on the first page and never lost my attention and left of at cliff hangers the entire time. The book went deeper into Nate Ryder’s story of trying to defeat the people who murdered his father. It was fun to read because all I wanted to do while reading was figure out what was happening and what was about to happen. Legg was really good at making the readers understand the severity of how much danger Nate and his friends are in at each point in the book that they are in the most danger.
The target audience and the people who I would recommend this book to are young adults, teens, and preteens who are interested in dystopian and utopian books. The book has magic like aspects in it but is described as soul powers. The book is great for those who have read and liked The Hunger Games and Divergent.
